BGPOTC CHAPTER 6

Are You Two Together Already?

Having talked big, Bo Xinghang had no choice but to seek out Doctor Ji.

He asked other employees at the bar for Doctor Ji’s contact information. One male employee gave him a knowing smile.

The male employee nudged him with his elbow and raised an eyebrow suggestively. “…Damn, you’re something else. You hit it off so quickly. Isn’t he much older than you?”

What nonsense.

Bo Xinghang laughed and reminded him, “Ge, I’m still a minor. I’m very innocent.”

“Pfft.” The male employee gave him a skeptical look and smacked his lips. “Don’t I know you? Innocent, my ass. You’re about a month away from turning eighteen, right? Once you’re an adult, you’ll find out about… the joys of adulthood.”

Bo Xinghang watched as the employee made lewd jokes and jokingly retorted as usual, “How do you even know if I like men or women? Maybe I prefer cute girls.”

“Hearing you say that just confirms you like men.” The male employee patted Bo Xinghang on the back, took out his phone from his pocket, and said while scrolling, “You two make a good pair… If things work out, don’t forget about your Hong-ge.”

“I have his junior’s WeChat. You can add him, find a way to get that doctor’s WeChat, and go for it!”

The employee was clearly excited.

But what did any of this really mean?

“Damn,” Bo Xinghang laughed.

Although the situation was misunderstood, at least the outcome was positive. He had managed to get the WeChat contact of Doctor Ji’s junior, though he wasn’t sure if he would agree.

Hong-ge sent Bo Xinghang a WeChat contact card. He opened it to find a profile picture of a doodled chibi rabbit and a name: “White Rabbit.”

How should I put this?

He wasn’t sure if it was due to Hong-ge’s influence, but the more he looked at the name, the more it seemed gay.

Tsk.

Setting aside his random thoughts, he sent a friend request to White Rabbit.

Bo Xinghang had always assumed doctors were very busy, so he braced himself for a long wait.

To his surprise, the request was accepted in the time it took to make a drink.

Huh? Are doctors so free these days?

Bo Xinghang casually propped his legs up on a chair and grabbed a glass of Sprite, mixing it with some ice.

Since he had been drinking a lot lately, he usually opted for Sprite during his breaks. It satisfied his cravings without making him dizzy.

A win-win.

His phone vibrated, and Bo Xinghang glanced at it. It was a message from White Rabbit.

—Hello, who is this?

—Hello, White Rabbit. I’m trying to reach Doctor Ji. Could you please let me know if you have his WeChat?

He intentionally used the nickname White Rabbit and couldn’t help but smile as he typed.

Sure enough, the junior who received the message paused before immediately complaining about the nickname.

—I’m not called White Rabbit!

After sending that, he realized it was a bit inaccurate since his WeChat username was indeed White Rabbit. So, he revised his response.

—White Rabbit is just a username.

—What do you want with my senior?

Bo Xinghang studied the WeChat message. Judging by the tone, there seemed to be a chance. He decided to follow his usual routine—playing the part of an actor.

And he borrowed a phrase from the man at the hospital.

—A family member is ill, and I heard that Doctor Ji is highly skilled in medicine. Everyone says he has miraculous hands and is like a living Buddha! I’ve come to ask for his contact information.

Everyone likes to hear compliments.

As soon as White Rabbit realized he was speaking to an admirer, his tone softened immediately.

—Oh! So you’re here because of his reputation. Got it. I’ll send it to you right away; don’t keep your family waiting. Delays wouldn’t be good.

Bo Xinghang continued to play along.

—Thank you so much!

After that, he sent a meme of someone kneeling and kowtowing, with the words ‘Thank you Lord for your great kindness’ written above.

—No need for thanks… you’re too polite.

It seemed White Rabbit was genuinely concerned about delaying the patient’s treatment. It wasn’t long before he sent Doctor Ji’s WeChat and even gave special instructions.

—Remember to mention that you’re a family member of a patient, or else my senior won’t accept it. He’s quite conservative.

Bo Xinghang skeptically twitched his lips. Conservative?

Who’s conservative enough to take strangers for treatment and then tease them?

After teasing, he had pretentiously smiled and told him to study hard.

To hell with studying hard. Just thinking about it made him angry.

Bo Xinghang opened Doctor Ji’s WeChat profile, glanced at the card, and immediately recognized it as a work account. The name was formal and his full name.

—Ji Wenzhen.

He scanned it quickly and found the last two characters hard to read. He instinctively repeated them in his mind, feeling he might have pronounced them incorrectly.

Bo Xinghang remained silent for a while. As a slacker, he was facing his first real defeat. Deciding to give up trying to figure it out, he looked up the pronunciation on Baidu.

While searching, he muttered curses under his breath, “Why make your name so hard to read… did you do it on purpose?”

Jerk.

Following Mr. White Rabbit’s instructions, Bo Xinghang made sure to include a note before sending the request. However, unlike the note he wrote to Mr. White Rabbit, his message was much more brazen.

[Your Hang-ge]

After sending it, Bo Xinghang raised an eyebrow and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Doctor Ji, if you don’t accept, you’re as good as dead. Hope nothing’s wrong with your brain.

Evidently, Doctor Ji was much more responsible than Mr. White Rabbit. Bo Xinghang sipped his drink, his eyes lowered as he waited for a reply on WeChat.

There was no response for a long time.

Bo Xinghang frowned. Could he have forgotten about me?

He touched his tongue against his cheek, unable to resist thinking: If he really forgot, I’ll take the registration form and slam it in Doctor Ji’s face, showing him what it means to be an old father—

Buzz, buzz.

His phone vibrated intensely.

It was Doctor Ji.

—My Hang-ge?

Seeing the message, Bo Xinghang’s frown disappeared instantly, and his lips curled into a smile. His mood improved considerably.

—Yes, your Hang-ge.

The conversation felt a bit strange, making it hard not to have misleading thoughts.

As expected, Doctor Ji, with his keen sense of observation, picked up on the oddity in that sentence.

—Mine?

“Fuck.” Bo Xinghang laughed. He hadn’t expected Doctor Ji to be so… free-spirited.

Indeed, as a slacker, he struggled to find the right words to describe Doctor Ji. After much thought, this was the best he could come up with.

The phone vibrated slightly again.

—How did you know my WeChat?

—Acted my way to get it.

“…”

Doctor Ji, just out of the operating room, paused in his steps. The nurse walking behind him almost bumped into him when she saw him suddenly stop.

The nurse, startled, quickly asked, “Doctor Ji?”

Doctor Ji glanced at her indifferently and shook his head slightly. “It’s nothing.”

He then continued walking, his distinct fingers lightly tapping on his phone to reply.

—…You asked for it from someone?

—Yeah, I’m so pitiful.

—So pitiful, huh?

—Yeah, your Hang-ge is so miserable.

After sending that, he included a chibi version of a pouty emoji. It looked quite pitiful.

The usually expressionless Doctor Ji suddenly laughed. This time it was the nurse’s turn to pause, and she almost dropped the documents she was holding.

She looked at Doctor Ji with wide eyes, wondering if she had heard wrong. She quickly caught up to him, glancing at him with the corner of her eye, but his face showed no trace of a smile.

The nurse wondered, if she hadn’t heard wrong, did Doctor Ji just laugh?!

Probably.

He must have!

The nurse glanced at her clenched fist, feeling inexplicably excited at the thought of Doctor Ji having a cute young wife. She felt that spring had finally arrived for everyone working behind the scenes.

The nurses spent hours in the operating room with Doctor Ji, but his expression was always ice-cold. Every time the chilly air from the operating room blew over, it felt so frigid that just thinking about it made the nurses shiver.

Indeed, Doctor Ji had laughed just now.

Unaware of the nurse’s thoughts, Doctor Ji reached the office door, turned to look at her, and noticed she was staring at him with an inappropriate expression, which made him frown.

“Nurse Zhang?”

“Ah! Here.” Startled by Doctor Ji’s sudden turn, Nurse Zhang quickly asked in a low voice, “Doctor Ji, is there anything else you’d like to say?”

Doctor Ji glanced at her before withdrawing his gaze and said indifferently, “Remember to give the documents to Dr. Li, and also…”

Also what?

The nurse gulped.

“Next time, focus when you walk. Don’t daydream.”

“Oh, oh, got it.” Nurse Zhang nodded quickly, both of them seemingly forgetting that Doctor Ji was the one who had initially daydreamed.

After sending the emoji, Bo Xinghang didn’t receive a response for a long time. He tapped the table with his fingers, growing increasingly impatient.

But as time went by, he still received no messages.

“…” His lips curved into a line as he bombarded Doctor Ji with emojis out of dissatisfaction.

—[Are you there?]

—[Hello?]

—[Hey?]

—[Feeling wronged]

—[If you don’t reply, I’ll fly over and hit you!]

—[If you dare, respond to me!]

Ji Wenzhen had just taken off his surgical gown when he felt his phone vibrating intensely in his coat pocket as if it might tumble out at any moment.

It just wouldn’t stop.

“…”

Ji Wenzhen laughed as he took out his phone, only to be greeted by a flood of complaints from his Hang-ge.

He imagined the other person’s expression—definitely with a cigarette in his mouth, taking drags while angrily sending emojis, and occasionally spouting colorful language.

The more he thought about it, the funnier it became.

Ji Wenzhen smiled and sat down in his chair to type.

—Oh, since I ignored you, why didn’t you fly over and hit me?

Bo Xinghang stopped his emoji bombardment and didn’t respond directly to Doctor Ji’s words but asked instead.

—You’re done with work?

Hmm?

Ji Wenzhen raised an eyebrow, wondering if Bo Xinghang was actually planning to fly over and hit him.

He paused for a second, suddenly realizing how unrealistic the thought was, and then shook his head in amusement and disbelief.

It seemed that chatting with this kid for too long might have been a bad influence on him. After just a few exchanges, he already had such absurd thoughts.

He flexed his fingers, waited a moment, and then replied.

—I just finished surgery and have some free time now.

—Oh.

Bo Xinghang stood up, lazily stretching and flashing a particularly beautiful smile.

He slipped one hand into his waistband while typing with the other.

—OK, wait for me. I’m flying over.

Bo Xinghang strode out of June Bar.

Seeing this, the male employee who was chatting with someone else immediately called out, “Bo Xinghang! Where are you going?”

Bo Xinghang glanced back and answered honestly, “I’m going to see Doctor Ji.”

Male coworker: What the hell…?? That fast??
