GCCB Chapter 61

Becoming a “BOSS”, With Capital Letters

Shu Yu woke up a little surprised— because she was not surprised she’d found herself alive again after dying for a second time.1T/N: She’s surprised that she’s NOT surprised.

Huh? I really came back to life, she thought blandly and noticed her current state. She was being encased entirely in the arms of another, her head laid against their collarbone, their arm wrapped across her waist, their legs tangled together. Her clothes were worn properly, black and red robes mixing together, inseparable from each other.

Shu Yu raised her head. As expected, the one hugging her was Fu Wang. His head was supported with his arm and his eyes were closed in rest, but as if feeling her gaze, they opened and looked at her.

His features hadn’t changed at all, it was just that his eyes had turned a darkened red, and the gentleness from back then can’t be found present on his person again. Only a terrifying malevolence remained, as if he were a smiling psychopath who would murder at the drop of a hat. Shu Yu’s heart trembled and then she instantly calmed down. It didn’t matter. Whether he blackened or not, he was still Fu Wang. She wasn’t afraid of death anyways, what else could she be afraid of?

Speaking of which, why was she still alive? Had she been resurrected or did Fu Wang not kill her to begin with?

“Xiao-Yu, what are you thinking about?”

Shu Yu came back to her senses and saw Fu Wang tightening his embrace around her. His dark red eyes were a dense and luminous color, emotionless.

Shu Yu decided to break the pot2破罐子破摔 Break the pot, the same meaning as breaking the ice or breaking the silence., she didn’t want to bother with those things now, and as she touched her face she asked with a slightly confused voice, “Am I dead?”

“Hahaha~” Fu Wang chuckled. He copied her and his hand also stroked her face, “Your previous body was devoured by me. This one is something I created especially for Xiao-Yu, Xiao-Yu will definitely like it.”

Shu Yu felt unnerved by his words. Bodies could be created? Created with what? No no no, it was better if she didn’t know, it sounded like something horrifying.

But while she didn’t want to know, Fu Wang wanted her to know. He leaned close to her ear and elaborated, “It’s made using the blood and flesh of a Devil. I dug out the bones and blood from my own body, and created this vessel for you.”

Shu Yu didn’t know what expression to use to deal with Fu Wang, who had become difficult to deal with. Wasn’t this basically Adam and Eve!? Don’t tell her it was made from ribs.

Although there were a lot of horrifying things she wanted to voice, Shu Yu still let out a subtle sigh of relief. At least it wasn’t made from strange things. Just now she couldn’t help but wonder if it was created using eighty-one corpses. As expected, she had read too many strange novels.

Of course there was still one problem: What kind of body did he make her? Shu Yu frowned and patted her face. Fu Wang knew what she was thinking and waved over someone standing to the side, and that someone walked over quickly with his head bowed and held up a mirror in front of Shu Yu.

Shu Yu was startled. After having woken up for a bit, she realized where she and Fu Wang were right now.

In broad daylight, in public, in plain sight, in the scene of a bloody murder. That last bit wasn’t just randomly added in.

They were in a beautiful palace. Fu Wang was holding her as they sat in the highest position, with translucent curtains draping in front of them, and below in the vast hall, there were dozens of people who looked either terrified or forcibly calm or pale faced… Or perhaps, calling them demons would be more apt. There was a large pile of demon corpses as well.

Bright red blood had already pooled into a puddle of blood, flowing till it had reached the feet of those still standing, but none of them dared to move, and the great hall was even so quiet that it seemed as if it were empty.

Shu Yu didn’t smell any blood, so she was shocked and jumped a bit when the large pile of corpses came into her view. She looked at the demons who were clearly terrified, and then looked at Fu Wang.

Fu Wang, however, didn’t care and didn’t even glance at those demons, he only gently turned her face back towards the mirror in front of her and pressed his cheek against hers. “Didn’t you wish to see what you look like now?”

The mirror reflected two faces next to each other. As Shu Yu expected, it was Tianfeng Jinyu’s face. This wasn’t surprising. She was using this face when she and Fu Wang met, the reason she had been worried was that Fu Wang would give her an ugly face during a lapse of sanity, or he simply didn’t remember what Tianfeng Jinyu looked like and gave her the face of Situ Jingjing. Compared to those disastrous possibilities, Tianfeng Jinyu’s appearance was wonderful, at the very least she had gotten used to it.

Actually, Shu Yu had many things she wanted to ask, such as what Fu Wang did all these years, why he had become a Grand Advisor, whether he had other identities aside from Ye Linhuai and Tian Jueming, what was the deal with those demonkin standing below them, where they were right now, etc. But she only pondered those thoughts in her heart and then  swallowed them down. Forget it, she’d better be quiet and observe. Too many things have happened at once, her brain was about to shut off from an overload of information, and after rebooting it just now, it was still a bit laggy, probably because her brain configurations were too low.

Let’s wait until tomorrow to figure out what’s going on.

Shu Yu internally went through a round of complaints, but she felt much relaxed. Fu Wang was by her side. Even if it was a blackened version, she still felt relieved.

And perhaps her main problem wasn’t anything else, but instead, it was how she’s been feeling very hungry since she woke up just now, and she was getting hungrier and hungrier.

So, what could she eat right now? Shu Yu’s gaze trailed downwards to the pile of corpses. Her face suddenly twisted into a slightly horrified expression; this, this couldn’t be the food Fu Wang prepared for her, right?! Something like In order to celebrate your resurrection, you can choose the flavor of the demon race you like, such a thing was something the current Fu Wang might actually do!

Fu Wang had just said that her body was made from his flesh and blood. Devils seemed to devour flesh and blood, so could it be that she really had to do the same right now? It was so hardcore off the bat, even if she had done mental preparation beforehand she wouldn’t be able accept it either!

Shu Yu’s expression was so obvious that it was basically written on her face. Fu Wang noticed it of course. He glanced at those corpses below them and suddenly smiled. He slowly asked near Shu Yu’s ear, “Why is Xiao-Yu unhappy? Could it be that she doesn’t like this body? Or is it perhaps that Xiao-Yu doesn’t want to be by my side, that she is afraid of me?”

Shu Yu: Oh hell, this looks like the signs of a trigger!

“No, I’m just… hungry.” Shu Yu said and immediately stared nervously at Fu Wang, afraid that he would open his mouth and say, Then let’s eat the pile of food below us.

The way Shu Yu was so jittery and uneasy but still tried to hide it made laughter surface in Fu Wang’s eyes. He pushed Shu Yu down, looming over her and kissing her eyelids.

“Wait, wait!” So many people were still watching, what was he suddenly doing! Shu Yu pushed him slightly and Fu Wang let go of her, leaning to the side while chuckling.

Shu Yu: I’m so done for, there’s no way to know what he is thinking or what he’s going to do next. This kind of painful feeling was like playing a choice-based romance game with no save option, where once you choose the wrong option you had to start from the very beginning.

“Xiao-Yu, don’t look at me like that, I won’t be able to resist eating you up.” Fu Wang moved closer again, taking her into his arms and licking her ear.

Shu Yu: Hah? There was nothing wrong with her gaze, moreover that eating her up meant the hehehe kind of eating or the nomnomnom kind of eating! How frustrating, Da-Yu has been locked up for too long and he has become too sick in the head3 病得太厉害, too sick, crazy in the head, insane, mentally ill.

Ow, she was getting hungrier and hungrier, and she didn’t know why but the Fu Wang in front of her was suddenly exuding a very appetizing aroma.

Shu Yu was alarmed, she noticed the very delicious Fu Wang inside her mind was seeming literally delicious and not the yamete yamete4 雅蠛蝶雅蠛蝶, yamete yamete, means stop or quit it in japanese. It literally uses chinese words to make this japanese word. kind of delicious.

She turned to look at the stiff demons standing below them. Hm, no appetite.

She looked at Fu Wang again. Huh, she suddenly felt that Fu Wang was exuding a very rich smell, like roasted duck, or like the flavor of the braised pork that her mom made, it was so nostalgic.

Shu Yu wiped the corner of her mouth, she felt like she was almost drooling. Fu Wang saw her movements and grasped her wrists. He came close and kissed the corner of her mouth, his voice low and magnetic, “You wish to eat me, don’t you? Which part do you want to eat? Xiao-Yu can choose as she wishes.”

Shu Yu’s face reddened. The way Fu Wang spoke was too erotic, but his words were also too horrifying. Even if it was him, she couldn’t just get down and do it alright? That was just too extreme.

She knew it, this body definitely had some kind of dismaying side effect, it looked like her diet was narrowed down to just Fu Wang.

“Forget it… I’m not hungry yet.” Shu Yu suppressed the saliva gathering in her mouth, as well as the hunger increasingly scratching at her insides. She turned her greedy eyes away from Fu Wang with great difficulty.

Hearing this, Fu Wang quirked an eyebrow, and then with a flick, beads of dark purple blood started oozing from his finger. He placed his finger in front of Shu Yu and gently murmured a single word, “Here.”

Shu Yu’s brain was immediately flickering with panels full of WTF. What was this? What development was this? Drinking blood? They weren’t vampires!

But, she was really hungry.

Shu Yu licked her lips, staring at the beads of blood oozing from Fu Wang’s finger, still somewhat hesitant.

“Xiao-Yu, if you don’t drink you’ll get hungrier and hungrier and finally go insane.” Fu Wang’s voice was gentle, hiding chilling cold under it, “Or is it that Xiao-Yu doesn’t like the blood here? Then, how about this, didn’t Xiao-Yu like this place the most?”

As he spoke, he casually sliced at the skin on the side of his neck, and the same dark purple blood spilled out, trickling down his pale skin in rivets.

Shu Yu: This is really becoming something out of a vampire scene now! Also, Fu Wang, you’re so wasteful!

Shu Yu heroically grabbed Fu Wang’s still bleeding finger and shoved it inside her mouth. She at least hoped Fu Wang had washed his hands beforehand, really.

Once the dark purple blood was in her mouth, there wasn’t any salty taste, but rather it had a rich flavor, it was very delicious. She let go of Fu Wang’s saliva-covered finger. Shu Yu mourned her shattered integrity for a total of three seconds, and then mutely moved to lick at the wound on his neck.

Fu Wang leaned back against the wide backrest, purposely baring his slender neck, making it easy for Shu Yu to lick. Feeling the slight stinging pain on his neck and the moist feeling of being licked by a warm tongue, Fu Wang caressed the back of Shu Yu’s head, his eyes brimming with pleasure.

As for Shu Yu, she was so ashamed she didn’t want to lift her head. Ha ha, would she have to be like this in the future now? Was this setting really an ancient fantasy setting and not a western fantasy about vampires? And hey, this was moving towards a direction wholly inappropriate for children.

“Every day onwards, Xiao-Yu will not be able to leave me, because if she does, Xiao-Yu will go hungry, so be good and stay by my side, okay?”

Shu Yu: I just knew you had done something weird, if I didn’t feel so much heartache about how you suffered a lot, I would be upset! [Angry]

A small fire flared up in her heart, but when she saw the insanity hidden in the depths of Fu Wang’s gaze, it was immediately extinguished with a spurt. Shu Yu glanced at Fu Wang’s already healed wound and said, “Then if we were to accidentally get separated, will I have to starve to death?” It would be just her rotten luck if she accidentally got lost someday.

“There’s no one else who can hurt you again, Xiao-Yu. If anyone wants to hurt you, if anyone tries taking you away from me, these people down there and their clansmen, they will all die, this way everyone will want to protect you.” Fu Wang finally cast his gaze on the group of demons pretending to be air beneath them. His voice slowly turned icy, “Elders of the demon clans, what do you say, am I not right?”

“Yes, yes, yes! Please rest assured, Devil Lord!” A middle aged man hurriedly clamored as he wiped sweat off his forehead.

Fu Wang chuckled. “It seems the other elders are unwilling, so how about you all die right here and have willing elders replace you all?”

As soon as his words fell, the expressions of the demonic clans’ Elders changed at once. They didn’t dare exchange glances with those next to them anymore, as one by one they hastily said, “We are willing, we servants are willing, please have mercy on us, Devil Lord!”

Right now, all the Elders of the demon clans were inwardly suffering like street mutts. The demon race had pretty much whittled down in numbers due to the rampage of the Devil Lord, and after living these not-easy-to-attain centuries of good life, being able to recuperate and raise their children and grandchildren into thriving buds— they receive news that the Devil Lord was still alive.

It was so frightening they almost all collectively packed their bags. But good news was that the Devil Lord was active only in the human realm, that is the reason why they weren’t being nerve wrecked every moment of the day.

Who knew that today, the Devil Lord would suddenly return to the demon realm? And they still couldn’t beat him either.

Back during those days, Fu Wang had basically killed all the elders within the demon clans, these ones here were elected afterwards. Most of them had experienced the era of that nightmare, and as for those demons who did not, they harbor a deep-rooted fear of the Devil Lord of legends due to the mutterings of their elders in their ears.

As for the dimwits who did not know the immensity of heaven and earth and kept shouting to rebel against the Devil Lord, they were the pile of corpses down there.

“We are willing to submit to the Devil Lord, we only beg the Devil Lord to please spare our clansmen!”

Shu Yu didn’t make a sound from within Fu Wang’s arms. She looked at the group of tearful and heartbroken demons, and suddenly reached the deep realization that the Fu Wang, who was hugging her, was really a BOSS

Should she be scared? But, she couldn’t feel any fear at all, she only felt at ease.

As Shu Yu pondered, suddenly her face was tilted up by Fu Wang, facing towards the group of demonkin below.

“I do not intend to take over the demon clans. I have come here for one thing only.” Fu Wang brushed aside that single translucent curtain. He was hugging Shu Yu, holding her in front of him as he looked down at the demons and said, word by word, “This is my dearly beloved, I hope the elders remember and inform their clansmen of this— If anyone is to harm her, do not blame me for repeating the slaughters from a millenia ago, and if there is a clan that makes her unhappy, then I will wipe out that clan. Does everyone understand?”

Shu Yu: After becoming a BOSS, Da-Yu is too Gary Stu-like, I feel a teeny little bit abashed.

I’ve been missing for a while again, sorry about that! Some IRL stuff just beating me over the head. On a side note, I’m considering fixing some of the old chapters translated, though only when I have enough free time to sit down and do it.
