After Rong Shu left, Chen Jing went to wash up and went to bed. Lying down, he habitually took out his phone and opened the school’s forum to check for new messages.
As soon as he clicked in, his eyes were caught by a post flashing red on the homepage—
# On a dark and windy night, why did the North Campus tyrant openly tie the South Campus heartthrob’s shoelaces in front of everyone? #
No.0: No need for more words—here are the photos and videos. You guys can judge for yourselves. Savor it!!!!!
No.1: The tyrant actually tied the heartthrob’s shoelaces!
No.2: Dude, didn’t you see them playing ring toss together? The white teddy bear in the heartthrob’s arms was definitely the prize of that stall. Many people wanted to hug it but missed out. Who would have thought it would end up in the heartthrob’s hands? Sorry if my focus is a bit off, but has the North Campus big shot already been won over by our South Campus heartthrob?
……
No.22: I have to say something about this post. I witnessed how tyrant Shen won that teddy bear. He just gave a slight flick of his wrist and won it. I just want to ask, besides the North Campus folks, has anyone else tried to win that teddy bear at that stall? I’m asking how many times you tried and if you even touched the bear’s fur. Now that the bear has an owner, and it’s the North Campus tyrant who won it for our South Campus heartthrob—might as well call it an engagement gift, haha!
No.23: Is everyone crazy? But it’s really hitting the spot. Don’t remind me that the heartthrob is also an Alpha. I’m not listening, not listening, just ignore it!
No.24: Our school doesn’t have aquariums, but what did the water turtle do wrong?
……
No.66: I didn’t really get the ring toss, but tying shoelaces is just too swoon-worthy. Friends, think about it: the North Campus’s tyrant Shen with his aloof and unapproachable demeanor, bending down to tie the heartthrob’s shoelaces and even making a beautiful bow. Truly, even tyrants can’t resist the charm of beauty!
No.67: I don’t want to watch the process. I just want to know when they’re getting together!
……
Chen Jing refreshed the images and videos three times, feeling quite clever for not having followed them to the night market.
Thinking about Rong Shu’s instructions before he left, he felt it was unnecessary. Rong Shu could have confessed his feelings; by the time they were interested, their kids would already be old enough to help with errands!
Oops, forgot—two Alphas can’t have children!
……
Rong Shu only saw the post the next morning on his way to the classroom. Looking at the images and videos, he couldn’t help but smile. Although he didn’t know who took them, the photography and videography were quite good, making him and Shen Huaixiu look especially handsome.
Rong Shu saved the photo of Shen Huaixiu tying his shoelaces against the backdrop of the bustling street to his gallery and walked toward his classroom with a pleasant smile.
“Xu Shu!” A small voice suddenly called out. Rong Shu instinctively turned to see a short, fair-skinned omega standing by the staircase.
“Is there something I can help with?” Rong Shu stopped, and as soon as he spoke, he saw the omega’s cheeks flush red. The omega then handed him a blue envelope.
Realizing what was happening, Rong Shu sighed lightly in his heart and didn’t take the envelope. “Sorry, I already have someone I like, so I can’t accept gifts from anyone else. It wouldn’t be respectful to you. But I appreciate your feelings and am very happy to know about them!”
The little omega didn’t expect this response at all and widened his eyes in surprise. “You really have someone you like?”
Rong Shu nodded with a smile and put a finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture. “It’s a secret, so please don’t tell anyone, alright? He doesn’t know yet!”
The little omega’s heart raced at the gesture, and he quickly nodded. “I won’t say a word. But could you tell me who it is?”
Rong Shu frowned slightly, looking troubled. “I hope he’ll be the first to know.”
The little omega covered his mouth, looking very excited, which was not what one would expect from someone whose confession was rejected. He nodded vigorously. “I understand, I get it. Xu Shu, I’ll cheer you on!”
“Thank you!” As soon as Rong Shu finished speaking, Shen Huaixiu brushed past him. Rong Shu was momentarily stunned but then smiled at the little omega. “It’s getting late. You should head back to your classroom.”
“Alright, Xu Shu, you keep up the good work!”
“I will.” After saying goodbye to the little omega, Rong Shu returned to the classroom. Lin Xia noticed him coming in and said, “Xu Shu, hand in your math homework!”
“Alright, class monitor.”
Rong Shu went back to his seat, took out his math homework, and asked Shen Huaixiu, who was sitting next to him, “Why did you leave so quickly just now? You didn’t wait for me!”
“You looked like you were busy.” Shen Huaixiu spoke naturally, and there was no hint of any problem, but Rong Shu’s heart tightened for no reason. He instinctively looked at Shen Huaixiu’s expression.
Unfortunately, Shen Huaixiu had already stood up to hand in his homework.
Chen Jing ran in from outside and immediately said, “Xu Shu, let me see the last question of your math homework. I can’t figure it out!”
“Didn’t you go over problems last night?” Shen Huaixiu, who had just returned, heard this and glanced unemotionally from Chen Jing’s face to Rong Shu.
Chen Jing: “…”
It felt like a cold breeze had just swept by!
“…Right, why didn’t you ask last night? Can you really forget something like this?” Rong Shu pretended to be natural, placing his hand on Chen Jing’s shoulder and giving it a light squeeze, signaling Chen Jing to cooperate.
Chen Jing: “…Since it was almost lights out then, I didn’t want to keep you up. Hurry, let me see the solution steps!”
He reached out to grab the homework book from Rong Shu’s hand, but before he could touch it, Rong Shu dodged. “Don’t even think about copying it. I’ll hand in my homework first and then explain it to you!”
“Thank you so much!” Chen Jing gritted his teeth and watched as Rong Shu walked past him.
When Rong Shu came back, he explained the solution to the last big question. Afterward, he raised an eyebrow at Chen Jing, indicating him to be discreet.
Chen Jing didn’t quite understand Rong Shu’s meaning but inevitably figured it out. After such a conversation, how was he supposed to naturally and indirectly tell Shen Huaixiu what Rong Shu had done in his dorm last night?
Would the big shot ask again?
Rong Shu returned to his seat, and Shen Huaixiu was still focused on his problems. After a few glances, Rong Shu finally couldn’t help but ask, “Why do you get up so early every day?”
“Running,” Shen Huaixiu answered, still not looking up.
Rong Shu thought to himself that Shen Huaixiu wasn’t lying. Last night, he mentioned morning runs and evening jogs; it seemed that this habit was indeed commendable.
Shen Huaixiu’s phone buzzed in his pocket a few times. He took it out and saw a message from Jiang Huan with a photo attached, and the caption read: “Boss, the school heartthrob is really popular. An omega confessed early this morning!”
The photo showed Rong Shu smiling charmingly and confidently, while the little omega looked adoringly at him. The two of them stood together. The sunlight streaming in from the window made them look surprisingly well-matched.
Shen Huaixiu turned off his phone without replying to Jiang Huan and roughly shoved it back into his pocket.
However, he found it difficult to concentrate on the chemistry problems in front of him.
Feeling a tug on his school uniform, Shen Huaixiu instinctively looked down and saw Rong Shu withdrawing his slender fingers. His gaze then moved up to meet Rong Shu’s eyes, who was holding an English book with one hand.
Rong Shu placed the English book back on the desk and looked at him, slowly rolling up his sleeve to reveal a faint red mark on his slender wrist.
Shen Huaixiu’s eyes darkened, and he heard the quiet voice next to him say, “It hurts a bit. Could you spray that medicine on it again when we get back?”
The unwelcome gloom that had surfaced in his heart was dissipated by this remark.
Shen Huaixiu nodded.
Just as he turned back to his work, his sleeve was tugged again. Shen Huaixiu turned his head to meet Rong Shu’s gaze. “Is there something else?”
“You seem a bit down today. Did you not rest well last night?” Or had something happened?
He didn’t expect Rong Shu to be so perceptive. Shen Huaixiu pressed his lips together, his face expressionless. The pale, cool skin seemed almost transparent under the sunlight, and the black dragon scales running from his right temple across his nose to his left jaw glimmered like dark jade, giving him a mysterious and striking appearance.
Rong Shu’s fingers, hidden under his sleeve, twitched slightly as he suppressed the impulse to reach out and touch.
“I’m fine. I rested well last night. Just focus on your reading,” Shen Huaixiu said, turning back and clearly not wanting to continue discussing the topic.
At that moment, Rong Shu finally understood that Shen Huaixiu was not in a good mood.
But why?
Author’s note:
Rong Shu: What should I do? He seems to be angry. Can I coax him if I act like a spoiled child?
