TCFGBH Chapter 46

TCFGBH Chapter 46

The bar sign emitted colorful lights at night, with street lights on both sides illuminating the area.

It’s common for young men, driven by impulsiveness and pride, to get into fights. People glanced over and quickly passed by. From where Xia Yan stood, not far away, he could only see the smooth forehead and soft black hair of the person being surrounded.

This time, the protagonist shou… was so tall.

He was five centimeters taller than Xia Yan.

Xia Yan couldn’t help but ask the system, “Are you sure he’s the shou?”

“ABO, strong gong, strong shou, enemies-to-lovers trope,” the system calmly replied. “Don’t worry. The protagonist shou is an Omega. No matter how tough he seems normally, when he goes into heat, he turns all soft. There’s no way he could top you.”

“…”

The system patted its chest confidently. “If he tops you, I’ll eat corrupted data on the spot.”

What a fierce vow.

Systems in the Main God Space are composed of data. Eating corrupted code could cause internal program chaos, making the system behave like it had eaten poisonous mushrooms, seeing and hearing things that aren’t there.

Since 999 was so certain, Xia Yan decided to believe it.

While Xia Yan and the system were chatting, the three loser Alphas on the other side finally couldn’t hold back and attacked the protagonist shou. However, losers will always be losers. Even though it was three against one, they ended up being the ones pinned to the ground.

With no one blocking his view anymore, Xia Yan finally got a clear look at the protagonist shou.

He was dressed simply in a white shirt and jeans; his hair parted neatly to reveal a smooth forehead, with a sharp, upturned nose and slightly slanted phoenix eyes. His delicate features gave off a cold, aloof vibe.

However, his clothes were a bit messy, and there was a scrape on the right side of his face, adding a hint of menace to his otherwise refined appearance.

The three losers, groaning on the ground, kept spitting insults.

“Just an Omega.”

“Shen Wenqing, you think you’re tough? In the end, you’ll still have to obediently marry someone and lie down to get f***ed.”

“Your career, your life plans, it’s all over. Hahaha.”

The man stood stiffly in place, his face pale, clearly struck by their words. Going from Beta to Omega suddenly turned his life upside down.

His parents’ sudden change in attitude hinted that an Omega didn’t need to work. They urged him to drop his company’s plans and start learning how to cook and arrange flowers so he could be a good little wife and mother in the future.

Just imagining being trapped in a luxurious house, living off another man, made him feel sick to his stomach.

If fate destined him to become an Omega, why did it first show him a different path? He covered his mouth, barely stopping himself from throwing up.

“Haha!”

Suddenly, a burst of unrestrained, malicious laughter pulled him out of his spiral of despair. Instinctively, he looked toward the source of the laughter.

There stood a young man with striking features and an arrogant air. The autumn wind ruffled his trench coat, revealing a thin white shirt underneath. A pink earring dangled from his ear, but instead of looking feminine, it seemed like a little star, brightening the entire scene.

Noticing his gaze, the young man raised an eyebrow and casually smiled at him.

Shen Wenqing couldn’t tear his eyes away, as if bewitched.

He heard the man sneer, “Three Alphas can’t beat one Omega. So, who’s really the one who should be lying down to get f***ed?”

Xia Yan looked at the three losers with disdain, as if they weren’t worth acknowledging.

The trio, who frequented the bar, knew all about Xia Yan. Being scorned by such a beauty-filled them with both shock and anger. Desperate to save face, they grumbled, “It’s because he doesn’t act like an Omega.”

“You’re just jealous,” Xia Yan said mockingly. “It’s ugly.”

“Xia Yan, don’t be so full of yourself!” One of the men, now enraged, snapped. “You’re just a gigolo. Just because some rich people spoil you, you think you’re—”

Before he could finish, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder.

The young man stomped hard on him, looking down with cold eyes. “Shut up, trash. Do you want to die?”

The man opened and closed his mouth several times, but he shut up completely in the end. He didn’t want to cross Xia Yan. If Xia Yan complained to his admirers, he’d be the one in real trouble next.

With the three Alphas silenced, the area fell into a tense quiet.

Xia Yan sighed in relief, though his expression remained aloof and unbothered. After going through the last world, he had mastered this act.

He turned to the protagonist shou, pretending not to know, and asked, “What’s your name?”

The man hesitated for a few seconds. “Shen Wenqing.”

“Okay.” Xia Yan shrugged and yawned suddenly. “Shen Wenqing, right? I’m tired. Take me home.”

“…???” The topic had shifted so abruptly that Shen Wenqing didn’t know how to react.

“Don’t want to?”

Xia Yan raised an eyebrow, then gestured toward the three losers on the ground. “I offended three Alphas for your sake.”

His gaze seemed to say, “Don’t you think you owe me?”

Shen Wenqing rubbed his forehead, speechless.

His car was parked across the street. It took them about two minutes to get there. Xia Yan climbed into the passenger seat without hesitation and buckled his seatbelt.

Xia Yan glanced at the system panel as the man started the car.

[Mission 1: Comfort the lost Shen Wenqing. (Incomplete)]

Xia Yan looked out the darkened window at the man driving beside him. There were faint dark circles under his eyes, and his long eyelashes fluttered lightly, giving him a deeply melancholy appearance.

Well, it made sense. At 21, suddenly “changing gender” was bound to be hard to accept.

Xia Yan adjusted the seat, sinking into it. He asked casually, “You recently presented as an Omega?”

“Mm,” the man nodded slightly.

“Are you feeling bad?”

“…”

“Why?” The young man tilted his head, his gaze free of judgment, only pure curiosity. “Is there really such a big difference between being an Omega and a Beta?”

Xia Yan sifted through the original owner’s memories. “With how advanced suppressants are now, the only side effect is a headache after the heat passes. As long as you use them regularly, it won’t affect your work.”

“…”

The man pressed his lips together tightly, still saying nothing.

Xia Yan didn’t push further. It seemed he was making casual conversation before long, drifting off to sleep in his seat. The light outside flickered, illuminating his beautiful features.

The 19-year-old still had a touch of youthful naivety in his cheeks, completely unaware of the harsh realities of the world.

Who knows how much time has passed?

Finally, the man spoke. “I’m an Omega, I should…” His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his pale knuckles showing veins as he forced out the rest, “…get married.”

“Why does that sound so medieval?” Xia Yan mumbled sleepily, half awake. “If you don’t want to get married, then don’t.”

“Before, my parents were training me to take over the company. But after I presented as an Omega, they decided to… train my cousin instead, just because he’s an Alpha.”

Xia Yan was confused. “But weren’t you a Beta before?”

“…?”

“Are you stupid? If your parents were going to abandon you just because of your gender, they would’ve done it when you were still a Beta,” the young man said, his voice still drowsy but sharp. “Instead of worrying about this, why not ask them directly?”

His tone wasn’t harsh, but it struck like lightning, waking the man up.

“Aside from having heats now, what else has changed for you?” Xia Yan unbuckled his seatbelt as they reached his house. He took out a concert ticket from his pocket, kissed it lightly, and stuck it on the window with a playful, seductive smile. “This is a ticket to my concert. You’re welcome to come.”

The car door opened and closed. Looking at the now empty passenger seat, the man’s heart raced.

Yeah! Nothing about him had really changed.

Who said an Omega had to submit? He was stronger than those loser Alphas. He should be stepping over them and reaching the top!

Shen Wenqing picked up the ticket Xia Yan had left.

Third Bar, Sunday Band, October 6th, 8 p.m.—I’ll be waiting for you.

The day after tomorrow?

He silently marked the date in his mind.

Xia Yan had barely gotten out of the car, riding the elevator up, when he habitually checked his task panel. To his shock, Mission 1 had been completed?!

What happened? He thought it would take much longer.

Given his current persona, he couldn’t exactly be the gentle, comforting type. He could only use harsh words to snap the protagonist shou out of it.

With Mission 1 completed, Mission 3 automatically refreshed.

Alone in the elevator, Xia Yan read aloud, “…Receive ten gifts from Shen Wenqing.”

“And a side mission—receive gifts from people other than the protagonist shou.”

“…There’s no limit to this task. The more gifts, the more points I earn. Gifts can be given away, sold, or discarded.”

After a moment of silence, Xia Yan muttered, “Of course this is a task for a shameless, money-grubbing Beta.”

The mission was practically encouraging him to mooch off people.

But for the points and the chance to come back to life, he had no choice but to go all in.

The original owner couldn’t afford a house in the big city. This three-bedroom apartment was rented, costing 13,000 yuan a month, with a one-month deposit and one-month rent upfront.

The neighborhood was nice, and the security was excellent—worth the price.

When Xia Yan got home, he noticed Wen Changming had sent him a message asking where he was.

Having just accepted over a million yuan in gifts from someone, Xia Yan felt a bit guilty. But he didn’t let it show at all, instead responding shamelessly, [You were too slow. I’m already home]

Blaming the other party meant he couldn’t be blamed.

Perfect.
