On the balcony, Jiang Yuan sat in a chair, looking at the scenery outside. The KTV was in the commercial district, a very bustling area. Above the KTV was a hotel, with many couples coming and going.

As Jiang Yuan sat down, Ji Rong followed and took a seat directly across from him.

“Why’d you come out here? Weren’t you singing?” Jiang Yuan asked.

Ji Rong countered, “What about you?”

“I needed some air. It was stuffy in there,” Jiang Yuan replied.

“Same here,” Ji Rong said.

Jiang Yuan glanced at Ji Rong and spoke in a low voice, “Ji Rong, you’re an Alpha. You’d know about other Alphas.”

He hesitated before continuing, “In a long-distance relationship… are Alphas really more likely to cheat?”

Ji Rong’s expression shifted at Jiang Yuan’s words. “I wouldn’t know,” he replied.

Jiang Yuan pondered for a moment. “What about you? If you were in a long-distance relationship, would you cheat?”

Ji Rong felt a sharp pain in his chest. He answered firmly, “I absolutely wouldn’t!”

Jiang Yuan felt a twinge of disappointment at this response, but his expression remained neutral. Ji Rong, noticing the shift, clenched his fist and added softly, “I wouldn’t, but others might.”

Jiang Yuan hummed in acknowledgment. Just then, his communicator chimed. He swiped the screen to find a call request from Qiu Jingming.

“Hey, Jingming. What’s up?” Jiang Yuan answered.

“Ge… where are you?” Qiu Jingming’s soft voice came through.

Jiang Yuan furrowed his brow at his adoptive brother’s delicate tone. He refrained from describing it as coquettish, settling for ‘soft’ instead.

“Are you at school?” Qiu Jingming asked, clutching his communicator while carrying his meager luggage out of the spaceport.

Jiang Yuan paused, then replied, “No, I’m in District W, singing with some classmates at a KTV. Why?”

“Ge, I’m… I’m on Earth,” Qiu Jingming’s tender voice quavered.

Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow. The notion that his adoptive brother was a fragile Omega in need of protection was deeply ingrained in his mind. “You’re on Earth? Are Mom and Dad with you?”

“No, just me,” Qiu Jingming’s voice trembled, on the verge of tears.

Hearing Qiu Jingming’s sobs, Jiang Yuan softened his tone. He knew his brother cried easily but hadn’t expected a single sentence to set him off like this. “Alright, don’t say anything more. Where are you? I’ll come get you right now.”

Qiu Jingming bit his lower lip reflexively upon hearing Jiang Yuan’s concerned voice. “I… I’ve already got a taxi…”

Realizing he was too late to pick up Qiu Jingming, Jiang Yuan knew he needed to arrange accommodation. The First Military Academy was full of Alphas. It definitely was not a suitable place for Qiu Jingming, especially with his heat approaching. “I’ll share my location with you. Tell the driver to come directly here. I’ll book a room for you. We’ll sort everything out when you arrive.”

Jiang Yuan hung up and stood. Ji Rong asked, “Who was that?”

“My brother,” Jiang Yuan replied, frowning. “Not sure what happened, but I think he fought with our parents and ran here from Red alone. It’d be fine usually, but he’s turning eighteen soon and about to enter his first heat. I can’t believe he’d come alone now!”

“I need to go upstairs and book him a room,” Jiang Yuan said gravely.

“I’ll come with you,” Ji Rong offered.

They left the balcony, informing Mu An and the others about Qiu Jingming. The Omegas immediately volunteered to help, pointing out that Qiu Jingming might feel uncomfortable with Ji Rong, an Alpha, present. Jiang Yuan hesitated before nodding slightly. They abandoned their singing plans. Jiang Yuan and Ji Rong went upstairs to book a room, then waited in the hotel lobby for Qiu Jingming.

After leaving the spaceport, Qiu Jingming got into a taxi. He felt oddly uncomfortable, similar to the sensation two hours before his heat after taking suppressants. It shouldn’t be possible—he was pregnant, which should have halted his monthly heats. As an Omega, he was well-versed in their physiology, but he didn’t know that the drug-induced early heat had disrupted his internal systems. He was now experiencing pre-heat symptoms.

The Beta driver caught a whiff of sweet fragrance in the air. He considered warning his passenger but, noticing their hotel destination, refrained from commenting. He merely thought to himself, ‘These young people really know how to have fun.’

After a short wait, a car pulled up in front of Jiang Yuan. Qiu Jingming stepped out, emanating a faint, sweet Omega scent.

“Do you smell something?” Ma Lin sniffed the air, asking gravely.

“I think it’s Omega pheromones!”

“Jiang Yuan’s brother…”

Jiang Yuan detected the sweet scent and immediately became alert.

Ji Rong appeared oblivious to the sweet aroma, his gaze sweeping over Qiu Jingming appraisingly.

This Omega looked nothing like Jiang Yuan. Standing just over 175 cm tall, he had soft features and a delicate, beautiful face. It was the typical appealing Omega appearance.

Detecting the scent in the air, Mu An’s expression changed. He urgently told Jiang Yuan, “Jiang Yuan, I think your brother is about to go into heat!”

Jiang Yuan’s face darkened at Mu An’s words. He instinctively stepped forward, taking off his own jacket to drape over Qiu Jingming. Noticing the Alphas seemed normal, he quietly asked Mu An and the other Omegas, “Do you have any suppressants?”

“Yes!” Mu An produced a suppressant and said to Qiu Jingming, “Jiang Yuan’s brother, come with me. I’ll give you a suppressant injection. Didn’t you notice you were about to go into heat? Do you know how dangerous it is to wander around during your heat?”

Qiu Jingming bit his lip and shook his head. “I’m… I’m not in heat.”

Mu An lightly tapped Qiu Jingming’s forehead. “Silly child, you’ve just come of age and don’t understand. Come on, while your pheromones haven’t peaked, I’ll give you the suppressant, and everything will be fine.”

Turning to Jiang Yuan, Mu An asked, “What were your parents thinking, letting an Omega about to go into heat travel alone?”

Jiang Yuan shook his head. Jiang Tianze might not understand Omegas, but Fang Shi had always been attentive. How could they let Qiu Jingming go out alone like this?

“I don’t need it. I’m not in heat!” Qiu Jingming insisted firmly.

Mu An sighed, “Kid, you clearly haven’t paid attention in biology class. Come on…”

Qiu Jingming swatted away the suppressant in Mu An’s hand. “I know my own body!”

“Jingming, your body is showing signs of pre-heat…” Jiang Yuan explained patiently.

Qiu Jingming shook his head, his expression on the verge of tears. “Ge, I’m pregnant…”

Hearing this, Jiang Yuan was stunned. In less than a month since he’d left home… his adoptive brother had gotten pregnant?

Jiang Yuan clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking. “Who? Which bastard did this? I’ll deal with him for you!”

Tears streaming down his face, Qiu Jingming said, “He’s not a bastard…”

Jiang Yuan was taken aback. It seemed Qiu Jingming quite liked the other person, even defending him.

He turned to look at Ji Rong. This handsome, tall Alpha was undeniably attractive to all Omegas. After a moment of surprise and awe, Qiu Jingming nodded slightly.

Ji Rong’s eyes widened. He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as his heart suddenly raced.

Jiang Yuan had been cuckolded!

Ji Rong struggled to hold back his laughter, but the corners of his mouth still curved upwards. To hide his amusement, he lowered his head, trying to make himself less noticeable.

“Jiang Yuan, isn’t Song Yirui your Alpha boyfriend?” Ji Yang asked instinctively upon hearing Song Yirui’s name.

Everyone looked at Jiang Yuan with sympathy.

As he spoke, Qiu Jingming observed Jiang Yuan, noticing his trembling body. He assumed Jiang Yuan was shaking with anger. Outwardly, he looked pitiful, but inwardly, he felt a hint of triumph.

However, Jiang Yuan’s lowered head and shaking body weren’t from anger. In fact, he was so overjoyed that he could barely contain his smile. He was struggling not to laugh out loud, which caused his body to tremble.
