QHM Chapter 62 – Part 2

1TL: Here’s the part 2, Enjoy! đŸ€—It was well known that when illusionists were emotional, their energy was more likely to go out of control. On top of that, he hadn’t been feeling well all day.

You Ran’s quick thinking brought him to a sudden realization. A flash of insight struck his mind, and he immediately lunged forward, grabbing the Second Prince, shouting, “Wait, did you do something to me? Is the reason my energy went out of control today related to you?! I knew something felt off when you helped me up earlier!”

You Ran suddenly accused the Second Prince, shocking both Xu Rusu and You Yuan.

But at this moment, You Ran, eager to shift the blame, opened his mouth and said whatever came to his mind, not thinking twice. “Yeah, you’re a prince. It’s so strange that you’d be at a place like that! You… you didn’t purposely target me, did you?! And if Xu Yin dies, and the Eldest Prince can’t be cured, the one who benefits will be you!”

You Ran felt his logic was pretty solid. Although he didn’t know exactly how the prince had meddled with him, he just had a strong gut feeling that this person’s appearance at the clubhouse earlier had been very suspicious!

He gripped the Second Prince’s arm tightly, glancing at his grandfather and older brother, then at the Queen and Jun Yuzhou, shouting, “Anyway, I didn’t want to kill Xu Yin! If someone wanted him dead, it definitely wasn’t me!”

You Yuan was stunned for a moment, but likely pushed to the edge by the Queen’s scolding, his brain started racing.

He suddenly thought of something, jumped up, and said, “Wait a minute, when I left the palace that day, Second Prince, you called me over! You
were you trying to hint at something? Were you trying to suggest I should deal with Xu Yin?”

Normally, they wouldn’t have dared to make such accusations against the Second Prince. Even if they had noticed something strange within the royal family, they weren’t looking to get themselves killed, so why would they get involved?

But the situation is different now. If they could pin the “intentional murder of Xu Yin” on someone else, they were doomed.

So, no matter how far-fetched it seemed, anything that could be connected to them, they’d try to shift the blame. Any trace of evidence, they’d throw it all out!

You Yuan quickly added, “By the way, there have been several energy surges in the palace recently, right? The last time that black bear went crazy… Second Prince, you were also at the edge of the lawn, I saw you there!”

You Yuan’s voice grew quieter as he spoke, starting to feel a bit unsure.

But You Ran, without any hesitation, continued.

“I started feeling unwell after I met him! Six or seven hours passed, and if I hadn’t been thinking of attacking Xu Yin—ahem, I might’ve lasted longer!”

The more You Ran thought about it, the more he felt like he had been carefully calculated, and that the person who had set him up knew exactly when to make their move. They had figured out that when he saw Xu Yin, he would try to make a move and trigger an energy surge!

You Yuan didn’t know if the black bear guard had encountered the Second Prince before its energy went berserk, but soon he thought of something—

Xu Rusu suddenly blurted out, “On the morning that the Eldest Prince had his attack, wasn’t he having breakfast with the King, Queen, Second Prince, and Third Prince?”

That day, he had happened to be at the palace and heard this while talking to the King about various matters.

After the Eldest Prince and Second Prince grew up, they were both so busy with their studies and duties that sometimes they wouldn’t even see each other for a week.

That day, the King had even remarked that it had been rare for the royal couple and the three brothers to be able to have breakfast together.

From the morning until evening, the Eldest Prince’s illness had lasted about ten hours, which was a bit longer than You Ran’s incubation period. But You Ran’s issue had been triggered earlier because he had been trying to attack, causing an instability in his body, while the Eldest Prince had suddenly fallen into an energy surge due to normal circumstances. When calculating the time, it was actually quite similar!

And now that You Ran thought about it, Xu Shu had been getting closer to the Second Prince recently, and it was Xu Shu who had subtly mentioned the Eldest Prince’s recovery to Xu Rusu, which had made Xu Rusu consider bringing Xu Yin back home

Originally, You Ran just wanted to shift the blame, but the more the three of them thought about it, the more suspicious everything became, and he swallowed hard.

Suddenly, all eyes turned to the Second Prince with a strange and uneasy expression.

The Second Prince lowered his gaze.

The Queen suddenly whispered, “That’s enough.”

She completely turned around, her back to them, and gently raised her hand, as if wiping away a tear.

Xu Rusu, You Yuan, and You Ran froze, suddenly realizing something, their mouths hanging open in shock.

You Ran shuddered and quickly pulled his hand away from the Second Prince’s, stumbling backward in panic.

The room fell silent, no one daring to speak.

The Second Prince, being the center of attention, remained silent for a while before lifting his gaze and looking at Xu Yin. “You’ve cured both of them completely.”

Xu Yin nodded, stood up, glanced at the guards behind the Second Prince, who appeared wary, and then looked back at the Second Prince. Ultimately, he chose to approach, extending his hand to gently touch the Second Prince’s arm.

The Second Prince did not pull away, and after Xu Yin withdrew his hand, he spoke, “It’s you.”

“You’re an Illusionist, but you can control the flow of energy within your body.”

The fluctuations in the energy within Jun Yuzhou and You Ran’s bodies were identical to those in the Second Prince’s.

However, Illusionists were not supposed to be able to control energy the way Illusionist masters did, as they couldn’t harness that level of power.

The Second Prince had not only broken through this barrier but his abilities were far stronger than many top-tier illusionists.

Hearing this, the Second Prince smiled and said, “You could already tell all this? I heard that you’re the least talented illusionist in the Xu family, almost on the same level as You Yuan, but it looks like that’s not the case
Even Grandpa Xu can sometimes misjudge people, huh?”

Xu Rusu, hearing these words, nearly choked on his own breath, as if ready to spit out a mouthful of blood.

“You’re not surprised at all?” The Queen’s voice was low, her back still turned to him. “Did you guess it before coming here?”

The words she had spoken to the Xu family just now, as well as their reactions, were all part of the plan with Xu Yin. It was intentional.

The Queen had realized that Jun Yuzhou’s sudden illness was truly caused by someone using a method that no one could have anticipated, and that the person behind it intended to kill Xu Yin. This had already narrowed the suspects to a specific group.

But she refused to believe it.

So, she released the information that something had happened to the Xu family, that Xu Yin had sought help from the palace, and that the guards had managed to capture the rampaging You Ran and bring him back. However, due to Xu Yin’s brief absence, Jun Yuzhou’s condition had rapidly worsened.

Upon hearing this news, whoever was behind it—whether driven by personal motives, emotions, or other reasons—would want to come and confirm things themselves.

The Queen had hoped to confront the person directly when they appeared in front of her.

But deep down, she didn’t want to face the truth.

Thus, she had even deceived the Xu family, making them believe that the blame would be laid on them. She listened to them argue and try to shift the blame onto each other, their fear evident as they tried to clear their names. In the end, she had to admit—these three had simply been used.

The one who started it all was someone else.

And this person quietly appeared before them.

The Second Prince closed his eyes, smiling as he said, “Hmm… ever since Xu Yin appeared, many things have gone awry. Suddenly, when things start going as expected, it feels almost unreal. I didn’t really dare to believe it at first.”

“Your Highness,” his attendant called softly.

“But whether it’s a success or failure, I never thought about escaping the palace… Where could I run to? It would be too embarrassing, not my style,” the Second Prince smiled and said. “So even if I fail, there’s no need to capture me. I won’t run.”

He would even voluntarily walk up to them.

The Queen suddenly turned around, her eyes red, and asked, “Why are you doing this? Jun Yuzhou is your older brother! Do you want the throne so badly?”

Jun Yuzhou’s face remained expressionless. He silently looked at the Second Prince.

The Second Prince smiled. “Is this really so strange?”

The Queen was stunned. “What?”

Second Prince: “We are all princes, but there is only one throne. Is it so strange that competition would arise?”

The Second Prince tilted his head, his puzzled expression sending a chill down the Queen’s spine.

…The royal family today is very different from the past.

The royal family has been stable for many years now.

The King and Queen have a monogamous marriage. Even though there have been instances of divorce, remarriage, and children from those unions, the royal family has strictly followed the tradition of allowing the most capable to inherit the throne, which has rarely led to disputes.

First, because over the years, all the princes and princesses have agreed on this inheritance system, and the chosen successor has generally been accepted by everyone.

Second, because nowadays, under the watchful eyes of ministers, it’s rare for princes to stir up trouble. Even if a prince harbors rebellious thoughts, it’s unlikely he will get the support of the ministers. They can only cause a ruckus on their own, and it often leads to nothing more than a scandal.

Moreover, the relationship between the Queen and the King is stable, and the First, Second, and Third Princes have grown up together as close brothers under the public’s eye. The Queen had never considered that one of her sons might harbor such thoughts.

However, it was clear that the Second Prince was not content with his position.

Even if the thought had only briefly crossed his mind—

It was a thought that had once flashed through his head.

And perhaps it was at that moment when he lightly placed his hand on Jun Yuzhou’s shoulder.

As his elder brother, unguarded, leaned in to listen to him, the Second Prince smiled faintly and silently placed a bomb within his elder brother’s energy network.

The Queen still wanted to say, ‘But he’s your elder brother!’

But as she looked at the calm and smiling face of her second son, she suddenly felt powerless, and she merely moved her lips, her tears overflowing.

The Second Prince turned his gaze away and said indifferently, “Alright, since everything’s out in the open, there’s no need to drag things on.”

Xu Rusu, as if waking from a dream, quickly seized the opportunity to clear himself: “We were all used, we had no idea! No one wanted to kill Xu Yin, it was all the Second Prince!”

The Queen suddenly turned her gaze toward him, and for a moment, her eyes were filled with such intense hatred, as if they could pin him to the wall.

Xu Rusu fell silent, frightened into submission, while You Yuan once again tugged at his hair in frustration, making it a tangled mess—once today was over, he was moving out of the Xu family house. He no longer wanted to study under Xu Rusu; the old man had completely lost his mind!

Xu Yin looked at Jun Yuzhou, who in turn looked at the Queen.

The Queen spoke softly, “Why are you looking at me? Follow the rules.”

“He is my son, and you are also my son. Do you think all the suffering you endured in that mad month was for nothing?”

Upon hearing this, Jun Yuzhou withdrew his gaze and turned his attention back to the Second Prince.

The two brothers locked eyes, the Second Prince smiling serenely, as though he were the most at ease person in the room.

Jun Yuzhou slowly spoke, “Do you have nothing else to say?”

The Second Prince smiled and replied, “What do you want me to say, brother?”

Jun Yuzhou fell silent, while Xu Rusu and the other two felt as if they could barely breathe.

Had they known they would be dragged into this, they would never have considered harming a hair on Xu Yin’s head!

The Second Prince sighed. “Let it be.”

He closed his eyes.

However, Jun Yuzhou continued to stare at him, not responding.

It was a silent, prolonged, and intense gaze.

Slowly, gradually, the Second Prince’s smile began to fade.

He opened his eyes.

After meeting Jun Yuzhou’s gaze once more, his lips gradually fell, the smile vanishing, his fake, warm, and pleasant demeanor fading away piece by piece.

In an instant, the calm and collected person who had entered the room earlier seemed to shed all his pretense.

He looked at Jun Yuzhou expressionlessly—not with the gaze of a younger brother, but with the cold, hard look of an enemy.

The Queen could no longer deceive herself. She wiped her tears, took a deep breath, and slowly sat down, leaning against the chair.

The Second Prince stared at Jun Yuzhou, giving a cold, mocking smile. He then spoke, “What do you want me to say? I don’t think you’re any better than me, so you wanted to take everything that could have been mine. That’s all.”

“Is this the way you’re going to do it?” Jun Yuzhou asked.

The Second Prince flinched as if he had been struck, his expression changing slightly.

“Do you remember the first time Father played football with us when we were children?” Jun Yuzhou stood up and slowly walked up to the Second Prince.

The Second Prince took a step back, clenching his fists, staring at him. “I don’t remember.”

“Father said whoever wins today’s game, the ball would be theirs as a prize,” Jun Yuzhou continued.

The Second Prince’s expression darkened further—he did remember that day.
