She, Su Rui, was talented and beautiful, born into a prestigious family as the young lady of the Su family. Their identities and social status were a perfect match, a match made in heaven, wasn’t it?
Her hand clenched into a fist, her fingertips digging into her flesh. Despite being reborn, she still couldn’t accept the coldness and ruthlessness from Fu Shu.
Su Rui clearly remembered that in her past life, Fu Shu had disregarded everyone’s objections and, despite all the opposition, brought Bai You You into her home, showering her with love and care for an entire lifetime.
And what about her?
Used as a pawn for a family alliance, she married a beast in human form.
In her past life, she lived a life worse than death. Her husband was a philanderer, abusive, always beating her, yet he would outwardly pretend to be deeply in love and remorseful, which was a nauseating sight.
Her in-laws were no better, far from easy to get along with.
In that household, she endured all the coldness and suffering of the world. So, in this new life, Su Rui was determined to wash away that shame and not repeat her past mistakes.
Fu Shu.
This name was well-known in both her past and current life.
In fact, Su Rui had once been jealous of her. Even when Fu Shu married Bai You You, Su Rui had mocked, ridiculed, and looked down on her for marrying a woman.
She had to know what society thought, same-sex relationships, they’re considered strange and revolting, aren’t they? At that time, it wasn’t just her, anyone who heard about it thought Fu Shu was out of her mind, and the Fu family was sure to decline because of it. But what was the result?
That person kept rising higher and higher, eventually standing at the pinnacle of the pyramid. Even though she was stuck in the mud, desperately looking up, she could only watch her from afar.
Su Rui’s feelings toward Fu Shu were now complicated. She didn’t know when she started liking Fu Shu. Perhaps it was when she, dragging her weary and broken body, was barely surviving in that household, yet felt jealousy and hostility towards Bai You You, who was being carefully taken care of. Maybe it was at that moment that she began to care about Fu Shu.
Fu Shu, Fu Shu.
This woman with immense charm and a special power.
She liked her and wanted to possess her, regardless of gender.
The unhidden concern and possessiveness in Su Rui’s eyes made Mu Ziqi frown slightly, and a sudden unease gripped his heart.
It seemed like he now understood why Fu Shu didn’t like Su Rui.
Such naked desire and ambition, even attempting control—for Fu Shu to have not killed her, it must have due to of the bond they shared growing up. After all, as Fu Shu’s partner, he understood her much better than anyone else. That woman, cunning to the point of being almost diabolical, holding such power, was not someone anyone could casually covet or spy on.
While the two of them harbored their own thoughts, on the other side, Fu Shu couldn’t resist Bai Youyou’s sparkling eyes. After all, in this world, the only one who could suppress her was Youyou.
From the moment they met until now, Fu Shu had lost count of how many times she had compromised for her.
The light rain continued to fall.
Bai Youyou and Fu Shu took a pink umbrella to the bookstore.
The thought that she could sleep in every day without having to deal with Su Duo’s resentful glares made Youyou smile foolishly, which both amused and frustrated Fu Shu.
This little fool, always wearing her emotions on her face.
The bookstore stretched endlessly, clean and tidy.
After Bai Youyou taught Fu Shu how to operate the system, she took two boxes of pineapple-flavored ice cream from the fridge. She handed one to Fu Shu, then sat beside her, eating the ice cream while watching an animated series on her phone.
As Fu Shu gazed at Youyou from such a close distance, her brows and eyes curving as she smiled, she suddenly felt like she had fallen
They say beauty ensnares and ruins a person, and even someone as smart and noble as Fu Shu never imagined that one day, she would care so much about someone.
Care so much that she would disregard all other interests.
She was a born businesswoman, but now, nothing in this world could compare to her.
She wanted to keep her by her side, forever.
“Don’t you like pineapple-flavored ice cream?”
Youyou’s gaze flicked to Fu Shu, noticing that she hadn’t eaten the ice cream. She tilted her head slightly, her cherry blossom-colored lips painted with a soft, creamy pink.
“If you don’t like this one, there are more flavors in the freezer—strawberry, chocolate, and mango. You can pick whichever you like.”
Captivated by the girl’s crystal-clear gaze that seemed to reach the depths of her soul, Fu Shu was moved, and pressed a kiss to the corner of Youyou’s mouth, saying: “I like it.”
Whatever you like to eat, I’ll like it too.
You You: ……
“Stop being all touchy with me, just focus on your work.”
Her tone sounded a bit exasperated, with a hint of playful complaint. Fu Shu raised an eyebrow, thinking to herself about how Youyou must truly like her to be reacting in such an adorable manner.
She opened the ice cream box, took a taste, closing her eyes in enjoyment.
Perhaps from spending so much time with Youyou, Fu Shu had grown to accept these odd, nutritionally questionable foods. Though initially, she had fallen ill when first eating barbecue with Youyou, gradually she had become accustomed to such things.
Youyou was different from her.
Fu Shu had known that from the start.
After realizing she had fallen for Youyou, she had actively tried to adapt to Youyou’s world. In a way, Fu Shu’s initial choice was to change herself to accommodate Youyou, rather than expecting Youyou to change to accommodate her.
Afterall, there was no other way.
The young girl was naive and foolish, so innocent and easy to deceive. Compared to her own cunning and scheming nature, the girl was like a barely sketched on white paper, utterly pure.
Fu Shu knew that people were inherently different.
Just like how she could effortlessly solve challenging exam papers and academic obstacles, the young girl was quite foolish and couldn’t quite handle anything.
If her ability to adapt to the world was like an expansive ocean, then Youyou’s was at most like a small ditch. Fu Shu also found it strange—how had Youyou managed to get through life and even make it all the way to university without changing?
You must know that someone like Youyou, without anyone protecting her, would have been destroyed long ago.
It was only after going through those things that Fu Shu realized Youyou was not an orphan without anyone to care for her. On the contrary, the power protecting her was incredibly strong, far beyond the strongest forces of this world and time. Even she couldn’t do anything about it.
Propping her chin in her hand, Fu Shu stared at Youyou, genuinely curious about Bai Qu’s educational methods. After all, she knew better than anyone how weak-willed this person was, how easily she could be manipulated. And yet, even now, she remained so pure, so easily satisfied.
