When he got into the car, Mo Yisheng was still asking, “What happened at the studio?” There was no accident at the studio, it was you who was going to have an accident, Yan Hai’an answered in his mind.
Thinking of that pretentious Sun Yan, Yan Hai’an felt a little tired while holding the steering wheel with one hand and waving the other hand, motioning for them to talk later. Mo Yisheng sat quietly and obediently, knowing that he had something to worry about, so he didn’t ask any further questions. He knew that his only job was to draw, and he would leave the rest to Yan Hai’an.
Quickly sorting out his thoughts, Yan Hai’an said directly to Mo Yisheng: “That Mr. Sun you met just now is not a good company. So, we should avoid him next time we meet.”
Mo Yisheng asked, “Why? I think he’s not bad? “
Yan Hai’an looked at Mo Yisheng lovingly. Sometimes he felt quite conflicted. On one hand, he felt that Mo Yisheng’s character is very cute and precious but on the other hand, he felt that Mo Yisheng is just so ignorant in this kind of society. It’s too dangerous for him.
…he can only look out for him right now.
Yan Hai’an thought about it for a while, and said vaguely: “His family is complicated and troublesome. You just need to concentrate on painting.”
Mo Yisheng has no problem with this statement.
Over the years, he has developed a habit of leaving troublesome things to Yan Hai’an and everything will be at ease for him. Only Yan Hai’an had to worry about them. Of course he didn’t want Mo Yisheng to be disturbed by some people, and he also didn’t want to offend those who shouldn’t have been offended in Mo Yisheng’s future.
Putting this worry in his heart temporarily, Yan Hai’an arranged the work in the studio so that Mo Yisheng could concentrate on his artwork. After renewing the contract with the landlord, Yan Hai’an made a special trip to find Li Qing.
Li Qing is usually busy with communicating with people, so Yan Hai’an specially reserved time to see her in her office. When Yan Hai’an entered, Li Qing was sitting on a chair with a lady’s cigarette in one of her hands. Her eyes fell on Yan Hai’an’s hand: “You always bring something with you when you come here. Just place them there.”
Yan Hai’an put the things he bought on the coffee table: “I heard you talk about the cakes in this store before. I just bought them along the way.”
Li Qing got up from behind the desk and sat in front of Yan Hai’an: “I just listened to the little sisters chatting about the cakes and I just said something about them casually. Thank you for being so attentive. I will share it with the young girls outside and let them know that these are from you.”
After that, she pointed to the tea set next to her: “You can make the tea yourself. You know I’m lazy.”
She watched Yan Hai’an make a cup of Tieguanyin tea. The movements were smooth but not fancy, just like this person, nothing is more or less just right, extremely appropriate.
“Every time Yi Sheng comes to me, those little sisters are going to be crazy.” Li Qing flipped her hair and put out the cigarette butt in the ashtray, “If you want me to tell you, this is just what being young is like. They don’t know what is really good for them. if I were a dozen years younger, I would definitely be crazy for you instead.”
It is undeniable that Yan Hai’an is easily ignored when he stands next to Mo Yisheng. He is not as radiant as Mo Yisheng who is a diamond that doesn’t know how to hide itself. He stood there like a quiet tree, tall and restrained. This restraint is neither of him being shy nor cowardly. On the contrary, it is powerful. For some people, it has its own charm that makes people want to see it for a lifetime.
Yan Hai’an smiled embarrassedly, and counted it as his response to this sentence. The topic turned to what happened a few days ago: “We just left that day, didn’t we cause you any trouble?”
Li Qing understood that he really wanted to ask. The question was whether Sun Yan would trouble them. She shook her head: “I understand you want to protect Yisheng well. Although he can be regarded as a selling point, I sold his first paintings like that, don’t take offence, I’m a businesswoman.”
Of course Yan Hai’an wouldn’t take offence. On the contrary, he understood Li Qing very well: “I understand, everyone has a mouth to eat.”
“Yeah.” Li Qing smiled and cut into the point very directly. “The matter regarding Sun Yan’s family, it was quite big back then and it was quite an unfortunate story. How many times does an aeroplane get into a crash in a year? It is such a small number. Yet, his father and mother got in one. He was studying in the United States back then and his parents wanted to rush over to see him. Fortunately, his older brother couldn’t leave since he had something to do, otherwise, he would have lost all of his family members at once.”
The subsequent development is like a TV drama. The two young people in the Sun family, a behemoth that started out by making real estate, were not brought down by a caring person and finally took power. Although there were also relatives who helped, the two brothers are already so amazing.
“Don’t mess with him.” Li Qing pointed at Yan Hai’an, “Sun Ling doesn’t care about what he does and will help him. The two brothers in the Sun family are not good to be messed around with. He only loves to play but he plays with principles. He doesn’t care about sleeping with men or women. He just sleeps with whoever that is willing. He is being targeted by Xu Ke now and I don’t know how Xu Ke caught him up. For the time being, he won’t be looking for Yi Sheng. You just hide Yi Sheng well. The man will forget him in a while. You just wait.”
Yan Hai’an rubbed his forehead, it was the worst type, why was he so unlucky?: “I understand, thank you.”
Li Qing temporarily comforted: “The water runs deep in this circle, and this kind of thing is not guaranteed to not happen again in the future, just get used to it.”
The brighter the industry is, the filthier it gets. Yan Hai’an is mentally prepared, but what is he going to face next? It’s another matter to think about when it comes to Mo Yisheng.
After coming out of Li Qing’s gallery, Yan Hai’an brought the same cake back to the studio when he rushed back. Sure enough, he received a warm welcome from the little sisters.
Their crash studio is not responsible for systematic teaching, but only allows adults who are interested in painting a copy of famous paintings while an instructor watches them. They do not need to be too advanced, so they are all students from the Academy of Fine Arts. It is a part-time job for them with a low pay. Of course, sometimes when there is not enough manpower, Yan Hai’an will also become an instructor, and Mo Yisheng will help him when he is interested. He is especially interested in coaching children brought by their parents. He can always have a good time with them.
“Yi Sheng has not come down yet?” Yan Hai’an left a piece and asked the little girl at the front desk, “Has he eaten lunch yet?”
The little girl shook her head: “Mr. Mo has been in the studio.”
Yan Hai’an sighed. No only the little sister, even he knows how Mo Yisheng’s character is like. He doesn’t care about the world when he is drawing. He looked around the studio and felt that there was no problem with the classes, so he went up to the second floor through the spiral staircase.
This is a bright and empty room, with a semi-industrial design, the ceiling has not been specially decorated, the walls are painted white, and three paintings are hung side by side, which looks like it should be a set. The floor-to-ceiling windows on the south side take up an entire wall, and there is a three-seater sofa in the corner. It is placed in a strange position, as if it was placed there casually, but when you sit down on it, you can get sunlight and you can just admire the painting canvas in front of you.
Against the other wall is a large square table of logs, covered with scratch paper.
Mo Yisheng was sitting by the window, with the easel and canvas in front of him, and was concentrating on painting. Yan Hai’an didn’t bother him immediately, but put the cake and the plastic bag with a can of Coke on the table. He sorted out the scattered drafts first. They were all design drafts. It could be seen that Mo Yisheng wanted to draw a big scene. It is a very academic and classical school of painting, with reasonable composition and beautiful images in the picture. This painting with many figures does not appear crowded and chaotic at all, but there is a kind of comfortable balance in the enthusiasm.
Yan Haian went around to the sofa behind Mo Yisheng and sat down, watching Mo Yisheng painting. It wasn’t until the sunlight on the ground moved to a certain distance that he estimated it was almost time for him to come to an end. Only then he interrupted: “Yi Sheng, come and eat something.”
Mo Yisheng was interrupted by him and rubbed his palm. He then rubbed his face and glanced out the window before turning around, his face still blank.
Yan Hai’an got up and went to the table to get drinks and cakes while knowingly asked: “You haven’t eaten yet?”
“I didn’t expect it to be so late already.” Mo Yisheng put down the paintbrush and palette, rubbed it beside Yan Hai’an, and rubbed it again. There was a smear of paint on his face and chin, which made him look defenceless.
Yan Hai’an reluctantly reached out and wiped it away for him: “Go wash your hands and have some cake.”
Mo Yisheng obediently went to the bathroom, Yan Hai’an rolled up his sleeves and put his used pens and brushes together from the easel into the metal washing bucket at his feet, there was half a bucket of detergent in it. Yan Hai’an looked at it and thought that it can still be used several times.
The piano music suddenly sounded in the room, and the sound was muffled. Yan Hai’an raised his head to look around, and finally pulled out Mo Yisheng’s phone from the gap between the sofa cushions which he had no idea when it had fallen into it.
Mo Yisheng had nothing to say about Yan Hai’an picking up his calls for him. Yan Hai’an just glanced at the unfamiliar number and picked it up: “Hello, who is this?”
“Is this Yi Sheng?” The male voice seemed to lower his voice on purpose, which caused a little bit of an ambiguous atmosphere, “How is the painting going?”
Yan Hai’an’s head flashed with images one after another and suddenly realised who this person was. He politely called out: “Mr. Sun.”
After a moment of silence, Sun Yan arrogantly asked: “Who are you?”
Yan Hai’an didn’t know where he got Mo Yisheng’s phone number. Yan Hai’an was restless but he remained calm: “I’m Mo Yi Sheng’s friend, he is in the bathroom now. Is there any matter, Mr. Sun?”
“Oh, I remembered. Was it the person standing next to Mo Yisheng that day?” Sun Yan laughed, “Where is your studio? “
“Does Mr. Sun want to see the painting?” Yan Hai’an also smiled, “Well, let Yi Sheng make a rough draft for Mr. Sun to see. It is not too late yet for Mr. Sun to decide after seeing it. Right now it is too early.”
Even through the microphone, the casualness in Sun Yan’s words is clear: “You know what I’m here to see, don’t get in the way.”
Yan Hai’an couldn’t help rubbing the bridge of his nose, his voice was still with a business-like patience and kindness: “I don’t understand what Mr. Sun is talking about.”
Sun Yan sneered: “It’s okay if you don’t understand. Tell Mr. Yi Sheng that I will visit in the next few days.”
No longer giving Yan Hai’an a chance to speak, he hung up the phone directly.
Yan Hai’an looked at the phone and sighed: “It’s really troublesome…”
