Both of them are smiling, but there are hidden flames that are about to burst out behind their smiling faces. Animals are actually very sensitive to emotions around them. Thus, the big white goose, which is already highly nervous, is obviously stimulated by this. It came swaying, and when it got close to Yan Hai’an, it suddenly attacked, and it pecked at him as soon as its neck was stretched.
Sun Yan’s eyes are sharp and his hands also reflect quickly. He grabbed Yan Hai’an and covered him by pushing him behind him. He kicked at the goose without thinking. The big white goose was kicked back a little and his fighting spirit was completely ignited. At the height of the five or six-year-old child, the big goose screams and flaps its wings at Sun Yan’s leg.
“What’s going on with this goose!?” Sun Yan stood in front of Yan Hai’an, yelling and trying to hide with him. But the goose has to take an inch, grabs Sun Yan’s trousers with its beak and spun in a fancy way, not letting go.
The two people in the kitchen ran out. Wu Ningshu knew that this guy is the big boss who came to develop the area in the village. While the other guy with him is one of the distinguished guests who is staying in her house. This is so frightening. She rushed over and hugged the fluttering goose while apologising.
Sun Yan’s assistant also turned pale with fright and yelled at her: “What happened?! How can you let it hurt someone?!”
Yan Hai’an frowned. Just as he was about to say something, Sun Yan glared at the man: “Shut your mouth! Is it your turn to speak?”
He feels a little embarrassed. His sunglasses fell to the ground and was accidentally stepped on. Although he frowned, he didn’t seem to be particularly angry.
Yan Hai’an bent down and picked up the sunglasses. The lenses were broken, and the frames were also broken. In short, it was completely useless now.
Wu Ningshu was still holding the goose in her arms, and she said at a loss: “I’m really sorry that this happened. I’ll pay you for the sunglasses.”
The luxurious brand is marked on the sunglasses frame. It is limited edition. The design has passed and will no longer be available in the market. Hence, the price is definitely not what a peasant woman can afford.
Yan Hai’an took the sunglasses in his hand: “I’ll pay. After all, it was me who was going to be pecked at first.”
Wu Ningshu didn’t have much knowledge about it, but at least she could tell that the sunglasses are expensive. So she looked at Yan Hai’an gratefully. It was plain and simple. Her character made her hesitant to receive such generosity. It was obviously the fault of her family’s goose. How could there be any reason for others to pay?
“Hey, it’s just sunglasses, what are you fighting for? Do you have anything for me to eat?” Sun Yan took a look at the sunglasses without a word. He then puts one of his hands in his pocket and says to the attendant, “Go and get me a new set of clothes.” Since he cut it off like that, everyone alao stopped talking, and the default matter was considered settled.
The assistant and Wu Ningshu had reached an agreement. There were many empty rooms in her house and she had tidied them up. Originally, Yan Hai’an and Mo Yisheng had the best accommodation, but now that Sun Yan came, Yan Hai’an consciously let go of the best room.
So the assistant went to get the clothes while Wu Ningshu went back to the kitchen and started to get busy preparing dinner. She didn’t dare to leave the goose out in the open anymore so she guided it back to the pen.
Yan Hai’an held the broken sunglasses and pondered for a while: “Thank you.”
No matter what, Sun Yan had helped him just now. Otherwise, he would have been the one who was embarrassed.
Hearing this, Sun Yan smiled and said, “Now you know I’m a good person, right?”
Yan Hai’an smiled reluctantly and did not answer.
“If I’m not a good person, will I listen to you and take it slow?” Sun Yan paced to the side of the goose pen, “But then again, don’t get in my way or I won’t take it slow.”
He said all that leisurely. There is a very high level of indifference in the way he spoke. It reminded Yan Hai’an of those flowers that were separated from each other and couldn’t find a pattern at all. Each bouquet was like carrying only the whim of the owner. He suddenly remembered that when he gave such a bouquet, he only wrote down on the note the name of the recipient perfunctorily.
According to Yan Hai’an’s intention, he wanted to throw the flowers sent by Sun Yan away. But in the end, there’s the deal between him and Sun Yan, which was not really much of a deal, but it was more like a balance being pulled by a thin thread.
Fortunately, Mo Yisheng was allergic to flowers, so he couldn’t put it in the studio. He couldn’t bear to ruin the beauty of the flowers so he still kept them.
Yan Hai’an sometimes wonders if the flowers are under discounts or something and they are just picked up randomly.
Without waiting for Yan Hai’an to answer, Sun Yan stretched his head out to look at the goose as if he had forgotten that the goose was not to be outdone.
Sun Yan’s face was full of question marks: “Why is this thing so fierce?”
He then asked another question: “Yi Sheng is still sleeping?”
They made a lot of noise just now, but Mo Yisheng still didn’t wake up. It was like he had vowed to entangle with the bed until the end.
Yan Hai’an pondered the meaning behind Sun Yan’s question just now, and looked up at the sky: “You can call him to eat during dinner time yourself. I’ll go to the kitchen to see if I can help.”
He didn’t want to wait there with Sun Yan. He went into the kitchen. Wu Ningshu had prepared all the ingredients neatly. She wouldn’t go through so much trouble if she were to eat alone, but with the three people who had paid for the food around, she had to make the meal a little richer.
Yan Hai’an said, “Let me help you.”
“Hey, no need. You can go and rest. You can’t do this.” But she didn’t expect Yan Hai’an to be very skilled at doing these things.
Yan Hai’an smiled at her and said, “My family is also from the countryside.”
He spoke calmly and decently, with no accent at all, and the way he dressed up didn’t look ordinary. Due to this, no one could tell that he came from the countryside if he didn’t say it. Yes, Wu Ningshu was surprised: “Then, you are really promising. Where is your hometown?”
“A small town in S province.” Yan Hai’an chatted with her, “I only came to B city to study in high school. There was a relative here at that time.”
Wu Ningshu asked again: “You studied in city B? That’s incredible.”
Yan Hai’an smiled and lowered his head to wash the dishes.
Guessing that it was almost time, Yan Haian went out and wanted to call Mo Yisheng to get up. Unexpectedly, Mo Yisheng got up early and had already stood in the courtyard chatting with Sun Yan.
The two of them stood on the edge of the goose circle. Mo Yisheng got up without changing his pyjamas. He had probably twisted and twisted in his sleep, so his clothes were already wrinkled. But he didn’t look sloppy even when he wore it like that. He only carried the air of a naive youth.
Holding a handful of vegetables in his hand, he laughed: “For real? So powerful?”
Sun Yan lifted his trousers and motioned for Mo Yisheng to look at the wrinkled fabric on his trousers. There was a hole at the bottom of the trousers.
Mo Yisheng threw some vegetables into the pen. He was a child who grew up in a standard city. He was full of freshness and curiosity about everything here: “I have never seen them so closely.”
Sun Yan said, “I haven’t either. I’ve only seen roasted geese. After this battle, I’ll go back and prepare to eat two more roasted geese.”
Mo Yisheng was amused by him again.
Yan Hai’an never expected that Mo Yisheng’s attitude towards Sun Yan would soften to this point in the blink of an eye.
However, Sun Yan himself had never done anything to really offend Mo Yisheng. Mo Yisheng’s disgust towards him only stemmed from Yan Hai’an’s own words, which came quickly but were also superficial. Sun Yan and his eldest brother have been in the business world for many years. As long as he is given a chance, it is really easy for him to make a simple person like Mo Yisheng happy.
After all, Mo Yisheng’s looks are too good and he has no suspicion at all over others. Sun Yan has also done his homework behind his back: “In your eyes, this place is full of beautiful scenery, right?”
Mo Yisheng clapped his hands and shook off the dust. “Last time when you were a guest at the studio, I didn’t treat you well. I’m really sorry.”
“I’m embarrassed to say that I’m a carefree person. And I have the least planning for doing things. I drove around the area that day and remembered that your studio was there. I came to see what it was like by the way. It was really wrong for me to disturb you when you’re painting.” Sun Yan said with great understanding of Mo Yisheng, “Do you like the flowers? I took the liberty to send some flowers, mainly because they look very pretty. Something beautiful suits you very well.”
“Oh, thank you.” Mo Yisheng also remembered the increasing number of flowers on the counter, but in his opinion, Sun Yan gave the flowers to the studio instead of him. This is one of the reasons why Mo Yisheng’s attitude towards Sun Yan has softened down now, “You are too caring.”
This was different from any kind of reaction Sun Yan had imagined. He looked at Mo Yisheng inquiringly, wondering if this guy was really so innocent or just pretending to be naive.
“But I’m a little allergic to pollen. Yan Hai’an will probably like it. I saw him playing with those flowers last time. Are you in a hurry for that painting?” Mo Yisheng saw Yan Haian standing beside the stairs. He waved his hand and walked towards him side by side with Sun Yan.
Sun Yan thought for a while, stared at Mo Yisheng, weighed his thoughts, and said, “I’m not in a hurry. My brother’s birthday is in the second half of the year. I just want to prepare in advance because I don’t know how long it will take you to paint. To be honest, he can buy anything that I can buy as well. So I want to give him something different. I want to buy him a painting to improve the aesthetic taste of our house.”
Yan Hai’an’s face didn’t show any emotions. When they got there, he forced a smile and said: “What are you talking about with Mr. Sun?”
“We talked about some misunderstandings.” Mo Yisheng said bluntly. “Is the meal ready? I can smell it. It smells good!”
He took the lead into the room, leaving Yan Hai’an and Sun Yan facing each other at a distance.
Sun Yan smiled provocatively. The smile seemed to contain some bad intentions. He followed behind and went in.
Yan Hai’an breathed a sigh of relief, pinched his nose a little, smiled to himself and went in.
Wu Ningshu didn’t dare to eat at the same table with them, so she went back to the kitchen after setting the meal. Because of Sun Yan’s presence, Yan Hai’an was not able to stop her.
The richness of the farmhouse is placed in a large bowl. The taste is still the same as at noon. The chicken meat is fresh. There are large pieces of local potatoes. There is also a pot of shredded cabbage and a plate of kimchi which are not as refined as those served at a restaurant, but they are more ecologically original. Even Sun Yan said no nonsense and ate three bowls of rice.
After they finished eating, Wu Ningshu came in to collect the bowls and said, “You can take a dip in the hotspring at night. I have already cleaned it up. The water runs in and out all the time so it’s very clean. But my hotspring is a little small so at most, only two people can at a time.”
This was like a signal. Yan Hai’an and Sun Yan moved at the same time and looked at each other almost subconsciously.
Mo Yisheng was completely unaware of the strange atmosphere in the air, and when he heard Wu Ningshu mention it, he became more interested, and said without much thought: “Thank you. We will go in a while.”
Yan Hai’an said to Sun Yan first: “Mr. Sun, you can wait for a while. I have something to talk about with you later, okay?”
Sun Yan leaned back. He rocked his bent legs like a hooligan: “I have nothing to talk to you about. Yi Sheng, are you going to the hotspring?”
“Aren’t we all going?” Mo Yisheng asked in surprise, “We are all already here, it’s a pity not to soak!”
Sun Yan smiled brightly. His eyes swept over Mo Yisheng from start to finish, nodding with satisfaction: “Let’s go, let’s…”
Yan Hai’an turned around. He had turned his back to Mo Yisheng. His voice still sounded polite but his face was serious: “Mr. Sun must have forgotten. We already said that we would chat.”
After that, he turned around and coaxed the other guy softly: “Yi Sheng, you can soak by yourself first. Mr. Sun and I will go after we have discussed something. But don’t soak for too long, you will go up after twenty minutes. Otherwise, you will be dizzy. Okay? Mr. Sun? Yi Sheng?”
He paused at every word, almost gritted his teeth. He looked at Sun Yan and Sun Yan looked back at him blankly.
Mo Yisheng saw that they were facing each other and thought that they really had something to say. It was Yan Hai’an who told him that Sun Yan was not allowed to associate with him, but after talking with Sun Yan, Mo Yisheng felt that Sun Yan was humorous, approachable, and did not have the bad habit of overwhelming others. Mo Yisheng guessed that Yan Hai’an had also misunderstood Sun Yan, and maybe the two of them would be able to resolve this barrier with more contact.
Mo Yisheng thought in his heart that they could get along well so he got up and said, “Then I won’t wait for you. I’ll go back and get ready. Well, Hai’an, you two just go to the hotspring after chatting.”
Yan Hai’an closed his eyes and turned around. He went too far, with an unbearable expression on his face that he could almost hear himself monologuing without opening his mouth: Who the hell wants to take a hot spring with this fellow?
Sun Yan also laughed sarcastically and his disgust was beyond words: “Frankly, do you think that simply anyone is qualified to chat with me?”
Mo Yisheng didn’t know anything about the trouble in the hearts of the two, so he went out and went to the back of the house.
***The author has something to say:
Sun Yan: What the heck? We better stew and eat this goose.
Yan Hai’an (sarcastically): Oh, why bother with a goose, Mr. Sun?
Big White Goose: Let go of me! I’m going to kill you, a pair of assholes!
Yan Hai’an: …It’s better to stew and eat it.
