LM Chapter 82.2

Zheng Jing took the initiative to assist in the search for someone, finally there was a glimmer of hope. Jiang Yu proceeded to record the final episode of the variety program the next day. During the flight, his phone was turned off. When he arrived at the airport, he and Yu Fei boarded the car provided by the program crew to pick them up. Yu Fei was lying down and swiping on his phone when he abruptly sat up straight and exclaimed to Jiang Yu, “Look at the hot search.”

Jiang Yu took out his phone and logged into Weibo, where the first trending topic was only four words long: #QiaoMoCarAccident. He clicked on it and took a brief glance. Qiao Mo was critically hurt in a car accident on a mountain route in Germany last night. He was taken to the hospital and is now out of danger, although he is still in a coma.

Did Qin Shen do this? Jiang Yu clenched his phone, his thoughts a little erratic.

At night, when Yu Fei, who was in the same room as him, fell asleep, Jiang Yu quietly got up and went to the bathroom to call Qin Shen.

Just as Qin Shen coaxed Jiang Naonao to fall asleep, he saw Jiang Yu calling, he covered the little cub with a quilt, and went to the balcony with his phone.

After the call connected, Jiang Yu inquired about the little cub, then hesitantly asked, “Qiao Mo had a car accident, did you know?”

“Did you see the news?” Qin Shen asked complacently, his tone was very solemn, “I have several people tailing him. I haven’t figured out how to deal with him, when he got himself into a car accident.”

Qiao Mo had a troubled conscience, and when he discovered that someone was following him, he set out on the steep mountain route to get rid of whoever was tailing him. He couldn’t see the road well at night, and he was driving so fast that he rushed out of the mountain road by accident.

“He was seriously injured, and the hospital over there said his chances of waking up are very slim,” Qin Shen continued coldly, “but even if he can wake up, I will make him forget what happened in China.”

Qiao Mo has no father or mother, and he has few acquaintances in China. Qin Shen does not wish to take his life, but rather to just let him lose his memories, which is already very cheap for him.

Jiang Yu pursed his lips in silence. What happened to Qiao Mo could be regarded as retribution.

“Knock knock knock” Yu Fei knocked on the bathroom door, drowsily shouting, “Jiang Yu, what are you doing in there, why haven’t you come out for so long? I need to pee.”

Jiang Yu spoke with Qin Shen before hanging up the phone.

Qin Shen expected Zheng Jing to take a few days to identify who it was, but he didn’t anticipate him to call the next day to inform him that the person had been found.

After Qin Shen told Gu Yang, they drove to Longyue Villa together with Lin Cheng by nighttime.

As soon as he walked inside the private room Zheng Jing had reserved, he saw three people sitting tremblingly on the carpet, while Zheng Jing sat on the sofa with his legs crossed and smoking, looking like a hooligan, and four towering black-suited bodyguards were standing in the room.

Upon seeing Qin Shen go in, Zheng Jing said, “The person looking for you is here,” as he raised his chin with a cigarette butt in his mouth.

“Tell them to leave,” Qin Shen said, looking around the room.

Zheng Jing motioned to the four bodyguards to go, when Qin Shen added, “You also go out first, we have something to talk to them alone.”

“What’s so important that I can’t even listen to it?” grumbled Zheng Jing, but sensing Qin Shen’s insistence, he got up and walked out reluctantly.

When everyone had left, Qin Shen looked at the old man and asked, “Are you Professor?”

 The man pushed his slightly crooked glasses and asked in a trembling voice, “I am yes, what are you going to do to us?”

Gu Yang directly put the case in his hand on the table next to him, opened it and pushed it in front of them, and asked angrily, “Is this something you researched?”

The tube of potion obtained from Qiao Mo was kept inside the case. When Qin Shen went to the hospital for analysis, they didn’t say a thing about it.

The middle-aged man was still quite calm, but the man and woman behind him, who both appeared to be in their early thirties, were panic-stricken and exclaimed, “How come you have it here?”

“What exactly does this do?” Lin Cheng fiercely inquired as he picked up the potion.

The middle-aged man looked him up and down with excitement in his eyes. He even sat up from the carpet and reached out to touch Lin Cheng.

Gu Yang drew Lin Cheng behind him, then unceremoniously kicked the man’s stomach with such force that it knocked the man down, leaving him curled up on the ground.

“Professor!” the young man and woman exclaimed as they hurried to help the old man.

Gu Yang was already impatient and grabbed the man’s collar, threatening, “What effect does this potion have on mermaids? If you don’t say anything, don’t blame me for being rude to you three.”

“You really know about mermaids…” the old man replied, unconcerned about being kicked at all. He looked at Lin Cheng feverishly but was blocked by Gu Yang’s black face that was as dark as the bottom of the pot. He coughed, recovered his composure, and continued, “Also…It’s of no great use, that is, after the injection, the mermaid’s tail will not become two legs.”

Lin Cheng gasped, as Gu Yang clenched his teeth, and a burst of rage flowed from his chest to the top of his head. It’s tough to picture what might happen to them in the future if this was injected into Lin Cheng’s body.

Qin Shen’s face was already dark and drenched with sweat. He looked at the sole lady among the three, removed his coat, rolled his cuffs, and calmly stated, “I don’t hit women, Lin Cheng, pull that woman away.”

Gu Yang also took off his coat, gripped his fist, and the two of them severely beat the man.

After beating the man, Qin Shen took out a handkerchief and wiped his hands before threatening the two people lying on the ground, “Where is the rest of the potion? What are you doing here? If you dare to tell a lie, I will beat you up again.”

The young man’s nose was bruised and his face was swollen. He tremblingly said, “The rest of the potion is on where we live. We’re here because the professor wants to…wants…”

He hesitated to speak but stopped and glanced at the middle-aged man. Fearing for his life, he gritted his teeth and said, “I want to catch another mermaid for research.”

The young woman grieved and spoke the truth as well. It turned out that on the day Pei Yun went to see Jiang Yu at sea, they developed this drug in the laboratory that can prevent the mermaid’s tail from turning into legs. Originally, they had intended to show it to Pei Yun when he returned, but who knew he would die?

Pei Yun died, and subsequently Lu Qing and An An disappeared so there is no mermaid to experiment with to test the success of this drug. The professor decided to find another rich man to capture a mermaid from the seas, however, not every wealthy individual believes in the existence of mermaids. They heard that the owner of Longyue Villa enjoys collecting unusual items, so they came here to meet him. But the boss has been away for a long time, and it was only a few days ago that he heard that he had returned to the country. They came several times and almost depleted their funds. They didn’t see the boss and were apprehended by Zheng Jing.

When Gu Yang heard this, he became enraged and attacked the professor once more, saying, “You are very capable ah, you want to catch another one to experiment again, I think it’s better to cut you up and do the experiment.”

The young man and woman on the side were trembling and did not dare to stop them, as the Professor was beaten nearly to death. When Gu Yang was worn out, Qin Shen asked, “What do we do with them?”

These three people can’t be released, therefore they must think of a way to make them disappear.

Lin Cheng looked at the three of them and suddenly smiled sullenly, “Don’t you like to study mermaids? I have an idea.”

When Jiang Yu returned from recording the show, he had finished dealing with the three people according to Lin Cheng’s method. Qin Shen drove to the airport to pick him up and let the nanny take care of Jiang Naonao at home.

Jiang Naonao no longer wants to use diapers as the weather warms up. Qin Shen felt sorry for his son and rarely let him wear it. As a result, the boy sat on the sofa and soiled his pants not long after Qin Shen left that day.

The nanny carried him upstairs, took off his dirty pants, put the naked kid on the bed, and went to the balcony to collect his clothes.

The little cub hugged his toes and nibbled on them, feeling that it was not fun and missing his friends in the huge swimming pool. Seeing that the ground was not too high, he reached out and knocked the pillow next to him to the ground. Then he moved his little body, leaned over the bed, and slid from the bed to the pillow on the ground.

By the time the nanny came back after putting the clothes away, the little cub on the bed had disappeared.

Hearing that the boy didn’t have a name before, Qin Yunshan volunteered to give him a name. He pondered for several days, thought of several names, and realized that he hadn’t seen the little one for a long time, so he instructed the driver to take him to the villa where Qin Shen and Jiang Yu now resided.
