Chapter 10: Finding the Dormitory! Level Cleared!
“You’re absolutely right!” ‘Mao Mao’ tightly gripped her furry paws, only then realizing that her hands were covered in fur as well. “Even if I can’t find a boyfriend, I’m still amazing!”
Um… I think I didn’t mean it that way.
“Let’s go! I’ll take you to our room.” ‘Mao Mao’ eagerly grabbed my hand and dashed inside. “We hardly ever have guests here, let alone girls. Juan, Nuo, and Qing Ming will be thrilled to see you! In the Immortal Realm, finding a boyfriend means getting to live in the upper rooms. And with so many guys around, it’s easy for girls to find boyfriends. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for me…” ‘Mao Mao’ trailed off, her spirits dampened. I immediately encouraged her, saying, “Don’t worry! If they can’t appreciate you now, they’ll regret it later!”
‘Mao Mao’ beamed with joy. “You’re such a good person. Come on! This is the kitchen, and over there is the living room…” ‘Mao Mao’ introduced me to each room on the first floor. Juan, Nuo, and Qing Ming stood at a distance, seemingly hesitant to interrupt us, afraid of overwhelming me with their enthusiasm.
Although the exterior of the entire house looked worn-out and old, the inside was exceptionally clean and tidy. While the style and decor might have been a bit outdated, it didn’t detract from its overall charm.
“The second floor is where the boys’ rooms are, while us girls occupy the third floor. Fantastic! I’m finally not the only girl stuck in this rundown place!”
“Yeah, you’re right! Since we’ve become outcasts, let’s take pride in it, not feel ashamed!”
Hand in hand, we rushed up to the third floor. By the way… Mao Mao’s hand was surprisingly warm…
The third floor appeared rather small, with only two rooms facing each other.
“This is my room, and this one is yours.” ‘Mao Mao’ led me to the room on the right side of the corridor. I looked at it with concern, hoping it wasn’t a cramped space. “Creak!” ‘Mao Mao’ swung open the door, and darkness greeted us.
“No windows?” I leaned in to take a look. ‘Mao Mao’ chuckled and exclaimed, “When there’s a will, there’s a way! Window!” Her voice reverberated, and suddenly, the entire house emitted creaking sounds as if it was transforming. In the dim room before me, a small opening appeared. Slowly, it expanded, allowing sunlight to stream in. A window had magically manifested!
Without delay, the floor of the room started undulating like gentle waves. Something enchanting was happening. The bed, wardrobe, table, and chairs all emerged from the floor. On the opposite side, another door materialized. As it swung open, a pristine and tidy bathroom stood within!
I gazed in astonishment, unable to contain my excitement. I could only utter two words.
Oh, wow—
Could this house possibly have hidden doors like the Room of Requirement?
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Suddenly, urgent knocking resounded from outside. ‘Mao Mao’ eagerly peered downstairs. “It’s so lively today! No one has ever knocked on our door before. Could it be a new classmate? Let’s go down and check!”
A new classmate!
Sounds great!
I tossed my luggage into the room and hurried downstairs with Mao Mao.
“Let me through, let me through!” Mao Mao, being the only girl in the dormitory, seemed to enjoy special privileges. As she shouted, the person about to open the door willingly stepped aside.
Mao Mao reached out to open the door and exclaimed, “Welcome~ Ahh!” To everyone’s surprise, she accidentally slammed the door shut.
Everyone looked at Mao Mao with confusion.
“Mao Mao, what happened?” asked Jian Qian with concern.
Mao Mao, still shaken, swallowed hard and said, “Dian, Dian, Dian…”
“Xia Xiaolan, come out!” In the next moment, a dark and stern shout came from Xuan Yuanhen.
Everyone stared at me in horror.
“Crack.” Jian Qian’s blood bag fell, splattering blood all over the floor.
“Why did you bring him here?” Jian Qian nervously looked at me. “He’s a big troublemaker; his father is the principal.”
Just as I suspected!
I always thought the principal uncle looked so much like him!
I raised an eyebrow and confidently patted my chest, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll get rid of him right away!”
I gracefully flicked my hair, opened the door, and suddenly a long arm swiftly grabbed my collar. Before I could utter a word, I was lifted up and forcefully pinned against the wall beside the door. Before me stood Xuan Yuanchen, his eyes gleaming with a cold intensity.
“No one has ever dared to stand me up!” He glared down at me, his right hand firmly gripping my collar, pressing against my neck with such force that it became difficult to breathe!
So, Mary Sue novels are all lies!
In those novels, whether the boys like or dislike the female protagonist, they always use “wall slams,” not choking!
“I’m… I’m dying! I can’t breathe!” I struggled to speak, my throat throbbing in pain from his grip.
He squinted behind his glasses, the icy gaze transforming into a murderous intent that bore into my face. Around us, a crowd quickly gathered, capturing the scene with their smartphones.
Xuan Yuanchen narrowed his eyes, his right hand continuing to apply merciless pressure, while his left hand calmly adjusted his glasses. Suddenly, he turned his face, and the aura of danger surged like a colossal wave, instantly dispersing the onlookers, vanishing without a trace!
Xuan Yuanchen turned his gaze back to me, his black hair cascading as he moved, its strands delicate and captivating.
“Xuan senior! Xuan senior! Calm down! Calm down!” Jian Qian hurriedly approached, but he didn’t dare to touch Xuan Yuanchen’s hand. Meanwhile, Si Yino and Mao Mao both sought refuge behind Qing Ming.
Qing Ming kept his brows furrowed, his gaze locked on Xuan Yuanchen, and he muttered two words in a low voice, “Let go.”
Qing Ming still emanated a masculine aura.
I struggled to raise a thumbs-up towards him.
Qing Ming pursed his lips and nudged Jian Qian with his elbow. Jian Qian furrowed her brows and spoke up, “Senior, she’s running out of breath. She’s a mortal; resurrection won’t be easy.”
“… What does that mean?”
Xuan Yuanchen cast a cold glance at Qing Ming, released his grip on me, adjusted his glasses, and instantly regained his composed demeanor.
*Cough cough cough!* I coughed while rubbing my neck and slowly raised a finger. “First, I barely know you. *Inhale*… I took a breath, straightened my posture, and raised a second finger. “Second, even if I’m just a mortal, it’s evident that you have nothing but disdain for me. If you find me so repulsive, why did I persist in imposing myself on your car? Wouldn’t that make me pathetic?”
Xuan Yuanchen calmly crossed his arms. “Seems like you’ve got a bit of brains.”
Oh my, is he praising me or continuing to find fault with me?
Exasperated, I rolled my eyes. “Based on these two points, I made a conscious decision to stay away from you. When I left, your driver saw me. Since you didn’t want me in your car, and after I deliberately vanished, why did you come looking for me? So, are you not… mmmph!” Suddenly, as the frigid gaze behind Xuan Yuanchen’s glasses resurfaced, Jian Qian swiftly covered my mouth with his hand.
