ASDP Chapter 4

Reason for Collecting Materials

For the sake of the saint, they came to collect the beeswax and honey of demonized bees at this time of year when mountain climbing is restricted due to the activation of the maga.

That’s too much of an impossible story for me.
Theo panicked when I looked grumpy just by listening to it.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t underestimate the regulations…”
“I know. There is even a priest, so it was under a situation where you couldn’t refuse. So, what were you planning to use beeswax and honey for? Is anyone weak and someone is thinking of wanting to make them eat it?”
In the temple, the saint’s status is quite high. For that reason, the priest can’t refuse when he is given an order. Alfie and Theo seem to be friendly, so Theo came to follow up on the request that Alfie couldn’t refuse.
You know it’s hard to get at this time of year, but it’s hard for a priest who has to listen to a saint. So I don’t want to blame them either.

“No. He said they wanted to use it for beauty…”
“Huh?!”

Katchin.

The sound of the meter of anger, which was ringing in the back of my head before, is heard again.
Originally, the saintly relationship has been easy to shake off easily because the meter of anger has become loose since then, but I don’t think this was shaken off just by my personal grudge.
“What are you joking about? Beauty? That’s not what you’re looking for in an emergency, is it?”
“Well, well. That’s right.”
“If they really want it, they should come by themself. Only a saint can purify the maga, right?!”

When I raised my arm, Theo was looking at me with a slightly withdrawn expression.
Yeah. It’s my personal grudge.
It’s my personal grudge after all.
It’s a lie that it’s not my personal grudge. Normally, I wouldn’t be so angry about others.
Still, I can’t help but get angry.

“I can’t believe people are dying because of beauty!! That’s impossible!!”
“I understand what Amelia is trying to say. I’m sorry. However, the saints can’t be replaced, and when that ability comes out, they become caged birds that can’t choose the way they want to live, so the priests want to make it come true. Only a saint can purify maga, but there aren’t many of them. So even if she goes to collect it herself, the priest can’t send her to a dangerous place.”
“…I know. But the time is bad. I don’t understand the nerves that balance human life and beauty. Because if I hadn’t collected materials nearby, the two of you would have been demonized or died, right?”
The reason why we can talk slowly now is that I was close by chance, and I was a person who could drive Killer Bee away, and I knew how to stop the progress of blood loss and demonization. If it weren’t for me, there is a high possibility that the two of them would have had the worst ending.
“Both I and Alfie were not directly ordered by the saint, but maybe the saint who said it didn’t think that much into it. Everyone can suddenly express their hope, right? It’s not that they definitely want to make it come true. Somehow. When a high-ranking priest tried to fulfill it, an order was given to the lower Alfie. I don’t think it’s just the saint’s fault.”
While it was slowly explained in a low and gentle voice, my irritation quickly subsided.
Just by saying a little hope that you don’t intend to make it come true, the people around you move. It’s a scary world in a way. If you know that your soliloquy will take people’s lives, you won’t be able to say anything.
This is… it may be different to get angry at the saint without knowing why this happened.

“I’m sorry. I got angry even though Theo and the others were okay with it.”
“No. I’m just guessing too, so I don’t know what the truth is. It might have been just a selfish order. But you don’t have to get angry for us in vain. If you speak ill of the saint, Amelia’s position may also be in trouble.”
Those who harm one of the small number of saints that are irreplaceable become evil in this world.
I know.
The saint is forced to endure for this world.
So we have to be patient for the sake of the saint.

Patience, patience, patience.
But I came back to my parents’ house and got a job.
What I thought was that I hate patience.
I think there is a necessary patience. I’ve been studying by putting up with not playing for my future. That’s an investment to feed myself.
But for the sake of the saints, I have to put up with it… what can I say?
I hate the saints, but it’s just a personal grudge, but since we’re putting up with this much, it’s like I’m forcing you to put up with unpleasant things that you don’t like… that kind of uncomfortable feeling.

“…I don’t have a position as the daughter of a material shop in the countryside. For the time being, I’ll check if there was any stock of beeswax and honey at my father’s place. Also, regardless of whether the maga is not activated, the place to look for materials is wrong. Because bees that collect nectar are in places where many flowers are blooming. The next time you enter the mountain, I recommend that you cooperate with the local people.”
“Eh? We were attacked by bees, so I thought the place was right. When I found a bee and followed it, we were attacked from behind.”
“No. That giant bee, Killer Bee, is a carnivore. They don’t collect honey.”
Theo, who holds his head and looks down, perhaps this is his first time on a mission to gather materials. The priests basically don’t move from the temple, so they probably have almost no experience.

“Are you serious? Wow, we made a mistake and almost died. It’s embarrassing!”
“As expected, you don’t collect honey on a purification trip. Whether it’s a bee or a wasp, when it turns into a monster, they’re all huge and called killer bee, so it can’t be helped that it’s hard to distinguish if you’re not used to it.”
The job of an escort knight is to escort at the time of purification of the disaster. They don’t go out of their way to collect materials.
I mean, they don’t collect materials in dangerous places for the beauty of saints – no way.
Now is not the time to get mad. Calm down, me.

“Huh? Did Amelia slow you down?”
When I was holding back my grudge, I was approached by a third party.
When I turned my head, there was an uncle from the village.
“No. It’s these two.”
“Eh. Could it be that you were attacked by a mushroom?”
The uncle who saw a Shiitake mushroom growing on his head looked like he was about to erupt.
I understand. I would also laugh if I had been surprised to see mushrooms growing. Well, it would be troublesome if symptoms like Alfie’s appeared, but in this village, if mushrooms grow, you’ll just go down the mountain and go to the clinic.
“No, it’s not. They were attacked by a huge bee with a strong influence of the maga, and they were about to turn into monsters, so I made them grow some mushrooms that I had.”
I’m sorry that the only option I had was mushrooms because it was on the spur of the moment.
“Wow. As expected of Amelia from the old man’s place. Can that black-haired brother walk? If it’s impossible, I’ll call for additional help.”
“I can walk, but it seems difficult to carry Alfie.”
“Then, I’ll carry this priest on my back. He’s unconscious, so please give me some assistance.”
“Yes.”

I’m very grateful because it’s too hard for me to carry him on my back due to our height difference. Theo also helped to lift up Alfie’s body.
When the uncle carries him on his back, he crosses Alfie’s arms and holds him.
“I’m sorry.”
“I won’t tell you not to worry about it, but be careful next time, brother. Well, Amelia, can you raise the blue signal for me?”
“I understand.”
As I’m told, I raise the blue signal to show that it has been solved.
If this signal goes up, no more people will come. To enter a place where there is maga, it is also life-threatening for those who come to the rescue. You don’t have to come, but it’s hard if a secondary disaster happens.
“Mr. Theo, please give me your luggage. I’ll carry it.”
“No… for a woman, it is…”
“It’s okay. I’m not good at physical strengthening, but I can do it. You lost a lot of blood, so I think you’ll be wobbly with anemia when you move, right? And you can’t leave your luggage.”
If they taste human food, it will be easier for monsters to descend to the village, so don’t leave human things on the mountain as much as possible.
Magicians don’t do much physical strengthening, but I was taught when I was a student, so I can use it. Theo offered himself and Alfie’s luggage with a very sorry face.

This is how we finally started our descent down the mountain.

She is getting more and more angry about the saints. I think her anger is going to explode soon, hopefully in the next chapter judging by the title.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
