Chen Xiao Mi smiled at his two younger brothers leaving and said: “Lu Lin, you’ve asked them to run errands for you again.”
Lu Lin said innocently: “Running errands isn’t the point, what I’m trying to accomplish here is to help the kids make new friends. They are getting older now, they need to be independent one day, making friends is good for them.”
Chen Xiao Mi laughed: “You are very good at sugar coating.”
“What I said is right, children need friends just like adults, interpersonal skills are important for everyone. Have you noticed Xiao Cai smiling more now?”
Chen Xiao Mi narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment: “Yes, he seems happier.”
Lu Lin joked: “Maybe he longs for love.”
Chen Xiao Mi disagreed: “But he’s just a kid now.”
Chen Xiao Mi took a quick look at Lu Lin and doubted whether Lu Lin was really educated, as no educated person would express things like love.
“I’m just joking, don’t take it too seriously. Xiao Cai is only nine years old, but it would be nice if he had a childhood sweetheart.”

“Alright, let’s change the subject. Can I have some instant noodles?” Chen Xiao Mi suggested.
Lu Lin once cooked instant noodles from his shop and Chen Xiao Mi really fell in love with it and he blamed Lu Lin for not sharing it with him earlier.
Lu Lin told Chen Xiao Mi that instant noodles were fast food in his hometown, people tended to avoid them. Chen Xiao Mi was hard to believe, he was convinced that Lu Lin was just looking for an excuse not to share with him.
Thus, Chen Xiao Mi decided not to tell Chen Xiao Cai and Chen Xiao Mai about instant noodles because the children needed to have nutritious food.
Lu Lin added two boiled eggs, some ham and some vegetables to the instant noodles to make it not too unhealthy. Lu Lin had burned all the packets in case the children asked what they had eaten without them.
It didn’t take long to cook the instant noodles. Chen Xiao Mi’s eyes lit up as Lu Lin served him the bowl, he ate it all with relish.
“Is this really fast food? Only poor people eat this? But this is so good! I can eat a whole pot by myself!” Chen Xiao Mi continued to ask Lu Lin the same question.
“I know you find this hard to believe, but what you’re eating is actually fast food, sir.”
Chen Xiao Mi started to believe it when he saw how sincere Lu Lin was.
Lu Lin cleaned up the pots and bowls quickly in case the children returned earlier than he thought. He took a quick glance at Chen Xiao Mi who was lying on the bed in a food coma, he could not understand why the villagers were afraid of this ball of sunshine.
Soon Chen Xiao Cai and Chen Xiao Mai returned with new pickled vegetables.
Chen Xiao Mai jumped onto the kang in the new room and started rolling.
“Gege, join me, this is so much fun!” Chen Xiao Mai invited Chen Xiao Cai.
Chen Xiao Cai looked at Chen Xiao Mai attentively: “It’s okay, I’m having fun just looking at you.”
Chen Xiao Mai took out a pancake from his pocket: “Here, for you!”

“They are in the new room, they can’t wait to sleep in the new kang.” Lu Lin blinked.
Chen Xiao Mi nodded and blushed again.
There wasn’t much entertainment at night in the villages, they tended to sleep once night fell. The young couple used to share a bed with two children, Lu Lin did not have time to move, but that was about to change.
Lu Lin hugged Chen Xiao Mi tightly and soon the two were entangled.
Chen Xiao Mi showed no signs of resistance, it had boosted Lu Lin’s confidence.

The young couple both had no experience, so they quickly finished the first round. The two had not fully enjoyed themselves from that short round, so the cuddling naturally led them to the second round.
Chen Xiao Mi was very innocent, he had zero experience and zero knowledge about this. But Lu Lin was different, he had been watching videos since a young age despite the fact that he didn’t have any experience. So he considered himself quite knowledgeable in theory.
The two of them tried their best to restrain themselves in case they woke up the kids next door. Chen Xiao Mai slept like a baby that night, he was not bothered by the new environment at all. But Chen Xiao Cai was not so lucky, he kept hearing noises like rats fighting. He did not sleep well that night.
