Hello guys, it’s Raven. And maomao translates to cat in english. Happy Reading 😉
“…No”
Laying on the desolate patch of yellow sand, Pei Zhaozhou declined. He shifted to his side and half-closed his eyes, his long, slightly curved eyelashes twitching. His amber-gold eyes were frigid, and he looked like an orange cat sleeping on the ground, looking languid and basking in the sun, oblivious of everything.
He had no interest in this attractive man who appeared out of nowhere and requested him to accompany him to a base.
I feel like the sun is too bright, and I haven’t eaten or drunk in five days. My skin has grown as parched as a desert, and my heart continues to race.
The pheromone disorder had a severe impact on his body, causing him to feel hot and nauseous. He also heard an unidentified hissing noise in his ears that wouldn’t subside.
He was waiting to die and didn’t care about anything else.
This odd and attractive man rescued him from the zombie bird, and he was not grateful. He didn’t perish in the undead bird’s mouth, at most.
He was forced to struggle for another second, unsure whether he would starve to death or have a rapidly thumping heart as a result of this pheromone situation. Finally, his blood would inflate, and he would die from excessive suffocation.
In any case, he’s dead, so why should he care? Just go out like this. Is there another option for him?
Pei Zhaozhou’s eyes flashed with an undetectable unwillingness, seemingly self-defeating, but instinctively compressing his lips, holding his arms together, and curling his body together, concealing his uneasiness, fragility, and loneliness.
What more can people offer to persuade someone who has already given up on themselves?
In these final days, hearts as well as bodies perish.
Is there a small group of people that are both numb and alive, like walking corpses?
Nobody can promise that hope will be restored after the end of the world or that zombies will exterminate humans first.
However, the seemingly little humans lived by any means necessary. They were as tough as tumbling from a cliff, with their hands and feet damaged, and their mouths would urgently bite a weed crumbling through a fissure in the rock, trying to survive.
They will do anything to survive. Even if the hands and feet are damaged, only the final breath is left to live, forcing other innocent people to confront the bleeding mouth of the zombies and allow themselves to survive alone.
The orphans, accepted by the base, were pressured to go towards the oncoming wave of zombies to protect the base.
Uncles and aunts who had looked out for them in the past shed tears of remorse but encouraged them to continue onward.
The bewildered and innocent sea-blue gaze mirrored images of cruelty.
Behind them, the uncles and aunts pushed their youngsters out as bait.
A trap was outside the robust base door, using the children’s blood and flesh to attract zombies, which could save most of the base’s lives.
The same awful uncles and aunts. The same wailing horde of zombies.
Like appetizing little lambs, the children were sobbing and waiting for the wolf to arrive.
The fearful and timid youngsters remained motionless, expecting that the uncles and aunts could save them, and died neatly in the first batch.
Fearful screams attracted the attention of the zombies, and they fled in haste, dying in the second group.
Although there were plenty of zombies, the pack stood still for a while around the children’s corpses that were trapped.
The surviving children appear to have lived temporarily, and when they gaze over their companions, they understand they need more corpses of comrades to survive.
As a result, I finally recognized that the nasty children of the latter days changed into wolves when they glared at their companions with red eyes.
Pushing each other down, beating and scolding, rushing so rapidly that they were pulled down by the latter, and the remaining losers were engulfed by the surging flood of zombies, battling for time to survive.
With his brain buzzing, the young Si Huaixi stepped away and ran desperately.
He didn’t dare to look back. He didn’t dare to look at the zombies. He didn’t dare to look at the comrades who fell behind him. And he kept dodging those wicked pushovers.
He was excluded just because of his remarkable sea-blue eyes, contrary to the children at the base, who were all born with black eyes.
He was targeted and repeatedly pulled down during his escape from the zombie flood. But he gritted his teeth, knocked the one who was chasing him, and kept running.
He ran like hell.
My mind is numb; I don’t think about anything. All I want is to survive.
He eventually collapsed to the ground from tiredness, believing that the onslaught of zombies would seize the chance to kill him. The frantic running and breathing had left a bloody stench in his nose.
He eventually turned his head to face the oncoming horde of zombies, but the zombies had already stopped.
-why?
—It just stopped.
The young sea-blue eyes were red, and those who teased and assisted him. All died cold and bloody.
Only he, out of all 47 children, survived.
The relatives and aunts on the base’s defended walls gladly carried him away, claiming he was a unique genius.
Mental abilities are extraordinarily uncommon. Ten people with fire powers cannot see a single person with mental power, but the impact of mental powers is immense. They can manipulate zombies. Strong mental faculties can even be concretizing faculties, which come from a wide range of skills.
He is the sole individual with mental power in the entire base. Even though he is a child, he is still safe.
Even if the base behind him was devastated by an unprecedented wave of zombies, he was protected and sent to other safe bases as a mental power supernaturalist and one of humanity’s hopes.
Those uncles and aunts who pushed him and other youngsters out of the base city gate to defend their hopeful fire took the initiative or were forced to meet the surging wave of zombies and nearly died in the end.
It was a reincarnation that Si Huaixi couldn’t hate.
Because this is the end time, humans can be greedy and great to survive.
So.
Si Huaixi’s icy sea-blue eyes were filled with disgust and even looked hideous when he first saw Pei Zhaozhou lying down and waiting to die.
It is his land.
Even if the base is destroyed and rebuilt, a base leader betrays him, and the next base leader is terrified of him. He can travel anywhere with his current power. But he still resides in his native country. Paranoid and unreasonable, keeping this area captive, even with humans living in it.
The individuals at this base are estimated to be the most comfortable in this post-apocalyptic world of terror and scarcity.
Ordinary folks rarely need to leave the base to battle zombies. They merely need to stay in the base to work and live. Only those with supernatural abilities need to go a little far, leave this land, seek out zombies in adjacent locations, and acquire the crystal in the zombie’s skull to upgrade the ability. But as long as you stay near the base, you won’t have to worry about encountering zombies.
Not knowing how many zombies had been eliminated by the individuals working behind the scenes to preserve their good fortune, they considered it fortunate if they came across zombies in the base’s vicinity.
Even other bases have heard that this fortunate base hardly ever experiences the zombie wave, yet to survive, they keep risking their lives to thwart its arrival. They have survived another year.
It was always the case. Fortunately, the base that avoided the onslaught of zombies would constantly blush with jealousy behind his back, lamenting God’s inequity.
In his heart, Si Huaixi is okay with individuals not compromising, betraying, using, or tricking him to survive.
It is the law of the end days-survival comes first.
Of course, Si Huaixi was unconcerned.
He is prideful about his strength, and he deserves to be. His serene sea-blue eyes saw right through people’s hearts, but he let go indifferently.
He raised this plot of land in captivity, but he had no intention of raising a flock of sheep, let alone one that would not battle to die.
Si Huaixi should have been disgusted and driven the suicidal man off his land, but he hesitated.
Perhaps it’s because the lovely amber-golden eyes are not prevalent here, and his eyes were so bright and shiny that he didn’t look like the people from the end of the world.
Si Huaixi recalled being shunned by children who were also orphans because of his unique sea-blue eyes. He had heard that he inherited those eyes from his grandmother in Russia, although he was orphaned soon after birth. No way, how is that possible?
He just heard it from people.
Si Huaixi became more patient, looking at Pei Zhaozhou, who continued to lie on the ground, obstinately refusing him. Though not furious, he appeared like a spoiled cat, much less a stray with wounds and illness.
The original lovely cat rolled around on the ground, the shiny and smooth hair got dusty, and the paws grew soiled.
—I want to get it and wash it.
Even if a cat wants to give up on himself, Si Huaixi listens and doesn’t take it seriously. It is much like listening to a noisy cat meowing, even though he doesn’t understand cat language. And even if he does, he will be arrogant and ignorant.
Maomao does not wish to die. If they desire to perish, their amber gold pupils will be less bright and shiny, more dissatisfied and fragile, but they appear irritable and enraged.
—Is it normal to be this delicate?
Si Huaixi has never owned a cat or any other pet, despite having watched several books and films left before the apocalypse that mentioned how to raise a cat.
At the end of the world, there are some supernaturalists, powerful seniors, and their mistresses who will nurture a squeaking cat. Some have also suggested to get him one, but he remained uninterested and found it inconvenient.
Si Huaixi crouched down and peered at Pei Zhaozhou’s back as if looking at a sick cat licking his wound alone.
“It will be uncomfortable if you get sick,” Si Huaixi added.
Someone suddenly cared about Pei Zhaozhou, and he turned his back. Even though he was a stranger, his nose was sore, and he responded flatly, “Thank you, but no, I know what to do.”
Si Huaixi sighed and stated, “If I leave, zombies may come.”
Pei Zhaozhou was attentive.
“Zombies will bite your throat, and it will be very uncomfortable,” Si Huaixi predicted.
Pei Zhaozhou remained unimpressed. He realized the monsters on this planet were similar to Zerg but more violent and irrational.
Si Huaixi lowered his brows and said, “If you get bitten, you will be infected and become a zombie, which is terrible.”
Pei Zhaozhou’s eyelashes quiver slightly, thinking that the image of himself turning into a zombie would be as hideous as that zombie bird, and silently debating whether to starve to death faster or die faster with a fast heartbeat.
“If you become infected and become a zombie, you have no choice but to eat people,” Si Huaixi stated coldly. “People in the end days do not bathe, and their mouths are filled with filth when they eat.”
Pei Zhaozhou’s back shook. He wasn’t preoccupied with cleanliness, but he remembered that scene where a person who had turned into a zombie had to eat people, and they did not bathe, sending shivers down his spine.
Si Huaixi’s eyes gleamed with a smile as he seemed to be a clean cat.
But he continued saying,
“Some unique zombies that are infected will be able to retain their consciousness for the duration of their remaining days, but they’ll be unable to suppress their cannibalism impulse. I’m not sure if they still feel after they turn into zombies. Even if they are hurt, the pain will persist. vomit…”
Pei Zhaozhou shuddered and exclaimed, “I’m not going to be eaten by zombies.”
Si Huaixi giggled, like a horrible owner holding a toy snake to frighten the cat, and ultimately feigned to hug the scared cat and encouraged: “Will you come back to the base with me? There are no zombies, and if you become ill, you can seek medical attention.”
Pei Zhaozhou had no choice but to feel this unknown man’s goodwill to him in his heart and mumbled: “…um.”
Everything is the same everywhere. It doesn’t matter where you go.
Pei Zhaozhou turned around to face this kind man. His cool white skin shone like jade in the light, his nose and eyes were deep, and his clean sea-blue eyes were like piercing sea ice. It appeared frigid, making you dare not to look directly. When the line of sight stared at him, he didn’t feel frigid but dissolved like a block of ice, absolutely clean and refreshing.
He’s an exceptionally handsome man, but… it’s a man. There are no alpha, omega, or beta on this planet.
But before that, when he encountered such a beautiful omega and beta, he felt motivated to pursue it… It’s not like he wasn’t tempted right now.
It’s just
Pei Zhaozhou wanted to distance himself, but his amber gold eyes gazed intently at Si Huaixi, and he couldn’t help but inquire, “What’s your name?”
“Si, Huai, Xi.” He said each syllable slowly. Si Huaixi’s voice was clear and magnetic, the words were clear, and it sounded like water running by a clear spring.
“And you?”
Pei Zhaozhou didn’t want to tell him as if he had told him he would be involved in this world, and he had never considered meeting the attractive man in front of him a second time.
He stated that going to the base is little more than shifting places and waiting patiently for his end. His pheromone condition is terminal. Even the sophisticated interplanetary medical treatment cannot cure him, let alone this backward and desolate apocalyptic world.
Pei Zhaozhou was still defeated by those clear and lovely sea-blue eyes when he considered this. His face became increasingly heated, and he didn’t know if it was because of the fever or the handsome face in front of him. So he mumbled,
“… Pei Zhaozhou.”
