TPLTP Chapter 1.2

Shen Suian watched the scenes like a passerby, only to realized that he had transmigrated into a dog-blooded boys’ love novel. His role was the white moonlight1(Bai Yueguang) pursued by four scumbags, and he would apparently meet his demise in five years.

As consciousness gradually returned, he overheard a conversation between the maid and the family doctor.

“Mister Zhao, is the young master okay? It’s all my fault. If I had known that the young master likes Marshal Gu, I shouldn’t have spoken out of turn.”

“The young master likes Marshal Gu?” The family doctor was puzzled, as he was unaware of this information.

“The young master was perfectly fine. He fainted upon seeing the news of Marshal Gu’s injury and coma. When we helped him up, the light brain was still on that page,” the maid explained with guilt, lowering her head.

“Well, this is a bit tricky. When the young master wakes up, try not to bring up anything related to Marshal Gu in front of him to prevent further stress.”

“Understood, and thank you, Dr. Zhao.

Shen Suian’s mouth twitched slightly. These people’s imaginative abilities were too strong, weren’t they?

Just as he was about to open his eyes and refute, a bold idea suddenly flashed in his mind.

In the original plot, Gu Beimo never woke up in his lifetime. Since he had no intention of getting involved, why not take advantage of this misunderstanding to stay away from the main character’s misfortunes—his half-brother. If there were any issues in the future, they wouldn’t involve him.

The more he thought about it, the more feasible this plan seemed. Shen Suian felt much relieved.

However, to play the role of a deep and affectionate character, he needed to learn more about the Gu family and Gu Beimo. He didn’t want to expose any flaws when he had to act later.

After the family doctor and the maid left, Shen Suian sat up and took out the light brain to catch up on his studies.

Originally holding an attitude of admiration, Shen Suian was surprised to find that Gu Beimo’s resume was even more impressive than he had imagined: he went to the battlefield at the age of 16, achieved outstanding military achievements, became the youngest marshal in the empire’s history at the age of 20, and during his tenure, he destroyed numerous notorious star pirate groups. He also repeatedly turned the tide and repelled the insect race. This time, he even directly killed the insect race queen, bringing at least 200 years of peace to the interstellar region.

No wonder Li Kaixuan, one of the scumbags, regarded Gu Beimo as the lifelong pursuit he wanted to pursue.

Unconsciously, it was dinner time. Shen Suian rubbed his tired eyes, went to the bathroom to wash his face, changed his clothes, and then went downstairs.

Father Shen sat in the main seat, stepmother on his left, Shen Suian on his right, and Shen Yaochen next to his stepmother.

The four of them didn’t show any intention of conversation. The atmosphere in the dining room was quiet and oppressive. Even the most delicious food brought no sense of happiness when eaten.

Originally, Shen Suian thought it was not bad to live a carefree life like this. However, now that he knew he only had five years to live, he couldn’t wait to escape from this dull home.

Having finally finished the meal, Father Shen, as usual, was preparing to go to the study to continue dealing with official matters. Shen Suian hurriedly stopped him, “Dad, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”

Father Shen stopped in his tracks, his gaze calm.

“I heard that Marshal Gu is injured. Can I visit him? If possible, I’d like to stay at the Gu residence to take care of him,” Shen Suian said, not being particularly close to Father Shen and feeling a bit nervous as he spoke.

Father Shen immediately frowned. The Shen family had a profound background and was one of the top families in the Imperial Capital. They didn’t need to sacrifice their son for glory.

If news of this got out, how would others view him?

Shen Suian pursed his lips and adopted a gentle approach, “Dad, you know about my health. I don’t know when… I’ve never asked you for anything since I was little. Can’t you grant me this one request?”

Shen Suian, frail and frequently sick, wasn’t the focus of high expectations from Father Shen. Nevertheless, he was still his son. Considering the words of the family doctor and the housekeeper, Father Shen contemplated for a moment, “I will talk to the Gu family about this.”

A faint smile appeared on Shen Suian’s lips, “Thank you, Dad.”

Gu Family promptly responded, and as expected, the request was denied. Shen Suian, undeterred, asked his father for Gu Father’s contact information, hoping to communicate directly with him. Gu Father couldn’t resist his persistence and reluctantly agreed.

The next day, after breakfast, Shen Suian checked his attire and took a hover car to the Gu Family.

“Do you think that child is serious?” Mrs. Gu sat on the sofa, gripping her husband’s arm with a somewhat nervous expression.

“We’ll find out when he comes over,” Mr. Gu reassured, patting Mrs. Gu’s hand.

Before the incident with Gu Beimo, he had many admirers, and there were often people contacting them, wanting to help make connections.

But upon learning that Gu Beimo might never recover, those young masters and misses who used to frequently show up in front of the couple to assert their existence seemed to have disappeared, as if they had all run away.

There were even a few who hurriedly arranged marriages, as if fearing that they would be forced into the Gu family to be widows.

Mrs. Gu could understand them, but she felt a particularly uncomfortable feeling.

Unexpectedly, at this crucial moment, Shen Suian actually stepped forward. Just based on this, even before meeting him, Mr. and Mrs. Gu had developed some favorable impressions of Shen Suian.

For safety reasons, they had investigated Shen Suian last night, knowing that this boy had a gentle temperament, was friendly, and exceptionally good-looking.

Just that he was a bit physically weak, but other than that, he had no other problems.

If Gu Beimo hadn’t had an accident, they would have been delighted that their son had found such an outstanding partner. Unfortunately—

Thinking of their son in the medical pod, Mrs. Gu’s eyes dimmed even more.

“Uncle, Aunt, hello. I’m Shen Suian. I hope you don’t mind my intrusion.” Following the old butler into the house, Shen Suian greeted Mr. and Mrs. Gu.

“No problem. We’re not working today. Please have a seat.” Mrs. Gu’s attitude was particularly gentle.

She had seen photos of Shen Suian and thought the boy looked good. Seeing him in person now, she was even more satisfied.

“Uncle, Aunt, I know that General Gu has plenty of people taking care of him. I simply want to stay by his side. I hope you can agree to this unusual request. Rest assured, once General Gu recovers, I won’t bother him. Please trust me.”

Shen Suian got straight to the point, keeping a very low profile and displaying a sincere attitude, effectively blocking any persuasive words Mrs. Gu might have wanted to say.

Mr. Shen had his plans well laid out. With some distance between the Gu and Shen residences, if he came over every day, after a few times, he could smoothly transition to moving out from the Shen family.

Not only would he be away from the main character, but he also wouldn’t have to live under the stern gaze of Mr. Shen and with a stepmother he wasn’t close to. With fewer people watching, he could do as he pleased. What a relief.

Mrs. Gu looked at Mr. Gu, indicating that he should speak.

Mr. Gu, feeling helpless, excelled in battles but when it came to matters of the heart, especially his son’s, what could he say?

“Is it not possible?” Shen Suian lowered his gaze, his tone filled with loneliness.

“You are still young. Having too much interaction with us will inevitably lead to gossip. It could be troublesome for you in the future.” Mrs. Gu explained hurriedly, unable to bear seeing Shen Suian in distress.

Though she didn’t want to admit it, the Gu family was currently a hotbed of trouble. Which respectable family would willingly send their child into this mess?

Mrs. Gu also hoped to find someone who would wholeheartedly care for Gu Beimo. As parents, they would always walk ahead of their son, no matter how well-prepared or reluctant they were to let go.

However, Shen Suian was still young, with a promising future. Even if he willingly took care of their son, Mrs. Gu felt a twinge of guilt.

Shen Suian noticed signs of Mrs. Gu relenting and seized the opportunity. However, when he looked up, he was surprised to meet a pair of emerald-green eyes and a black furry face. He couldn’t help but exclaim, “Huh?”
