ICAWZ Chapter 21

ARC 1: Disciplinary Committee

Lu Yuan never imagined that one day he would transmigrate into an Zerg race. It was just as unimaginable to him as facing school bullying, a situation he never thought would happen to him.

What was this? Did fortunes really change like the turning of the tide?

Lu Yuan’s expression was even more bewildered than before. He looked at the imposing Brian and other zergs in front of him. After a rough count, he found there were about five or six of them. With a nonchalant expression, he raised an eyebrow, “Do you guys want to pick a fight with me?”

Could there really be such unbelievable things happening in this world?

Standing on the side, Reed could no longer bear to witness the situation. Silently, he lowered his head and withdrew from the confrontation. Fighting with Lu Yuan, the big devil king, was like rushing straight to the hospital to boost their performance. The precious two hundred years of life bestowed upon them by the Zerg God were not meant to be squandered like this.

Brian, born into nobility, had been treated like a star since childhood. Yesterday, during the punishment run, he was already dissatisfied with Lu Yuan stealing the limelight. Today’s “class monitor incident” undoubtedly ignited the fuse in his heart.

Gritting his teeth, Brian said, “If you’re smart enough, just willingly step down from the position of class monitor. Otherwise…”

Lu Yuan tilted his head and casually cleaned his ear, “Otherwise what?”

“Otherwise, that pretty face of yours won’t be so well-preserved anymore!”

Brian finished speaking and without warning, threw a punch squarely at Lu Yuan’s face. However, Lu Yuan’s reaction was quicker; he sidestepped, lightning-fast, and seized Brian’s wrist, rendering him immobile.

Lu Yuan felt that he had created too much bad karma lately and it was time to cultivate a more peaceful demeanor. Considering Brian’s earlier compliment on his good looks, he sincerely advised, “We’re classmates; let’s talk it out. Violence won’t solve any problems.”

The power difference between them was too vast. Even with Brian’s face turning red, he couldn’t break free from Lu Yuan’s restraint. With a resentful glare, Brian said, “I have nothing to say to you. If you bring trouble upon yourself, don’t blame me!”

Having said that, Brian turned back to glare at his followers, frustrated. “What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and show him what you’re made of!”

His followers, upon hearing this, finally snapped into action and rushed forward to try and subdue Lu Yuan. Lu Yuan, disdainful of these small fry, didn’t even bother to lift an eyelid. Seeing them closing in from all sides, he simply turned around and slapped Brian, sending him sprawling to the ground. The remaining male zergs each received a kick.

“Smack!”

“Smack!”

“Smack!”

A series of heavy thuds echoed as the male zergs who had approached were successively kicked away by Lu Yuan. They writhed in pain on the ground, their agonized cries filling the air. Holding their stomachs or clutching their backsides, they never expected Lu Yuan’s strength to be so formidable.

Students passing by on the playground were shocked by the scene and gathered around, clearly not accustomed to such a spectacle. The more alert ones had already turned to run to the teacher’s office to report the situation. After all, injuries to male zergs were no trivial matter.

Brian was left dazed by the slap from Lu Yuan, his ears buzzing. It took him quite a while to regain his senses. Holding his throbbing cheek, he struggled to get up from the ground. While angrily retreating with his small entourage, he glared at Lu Yuan and said, “Do you know who I am? How dare you hit me?!”

The morning sun was still a bit warm as Lu Yuan unzipped his jacket and casually took it off, tossing it onto a nearby bench. His black short-sleeved T-shirt did little to conceal his muscular physique, making it obvious that he was skilled in combat. Smirking, he said, “I came here for a fight, not a blind date. What’s your status, and what does it have to do with me?”

After his words, he lifted his leg, as if preparing to kick them. Brian and his followers, frightened, let out a collective gasp and scattered in all directions, running outside in panic. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, they ran straight into the disciplinary committee members who were coming to inspect the situation.

“Your Excellency, I believe you should watch your step while walking,” one of the committee members remarked dryly.

Yusto raised an icy eyebrow, coldly grabbing Brian, who had collided with him, and tossed him back like a little chick. He frowned, dusting off his hands as if brushing away nonexistent dirt. Seeing the bruised and battered male zergs, he sternly asked, “Can someone tell me exactly what happened here?”

A hushed silence filled the air. Those who were unaware couldn’t explain, and those who knew were afraid to speak up. It was evident that this was a brawl among male zergs, and they didn’t want to get involved.

Yulejia stood on the side, sarcastically remarking to Brian and his followers, “Hey, little juniors, don’t blame me for not reminding you; fighting can lead to deduction of credits, you know.”

Brian and his group had just started their enrollment and were taken aback when they saw over a dozen senior students in black uniforms from the Disciplinary Committee rushing over unexpectedly. In that moment of panic, they looked at each other, unsure of how to respond.

Lu Yuan, from a distance, spotted Yusto and immediately sensed trouble. Just yesterday, Yusto had warned him not to fight on the campus, and now, unexpectedly, he found himself in this predicament. It seemed fate had a twisted sense of humor.

Yusto had been patiently waiting for their response. Seeing Brian and the others remain silent, he raised an eyebrow. A strand of silver hair slid down, providing a stark contrast against his black uniform. “Since none of you are willing to speak up, fine. Consider it a case of public brawling, and each of you will have one credit deducted,” he declared calmly.

Each new student had only three credits upon enrollment, and losing one credit was a severe consequence. It essentially meant that they had no chance of achieving an outstanding grade in the year-end performance assessment.

Upon hearing the penalty, Brian panicked. He immediately lowered his right hand, revealing a bright red handprint on his face. Pointing angrily in Lu Yuan’s direction, he exclaimed, “Senior, just now, a male zergs unprovoked attacked us! You must catch him and punish him severely!”

As Brian raised his hand to point, everyone instinctively moved aside to clear a path. However, to their surprise, they didn’t see the arrogant culprit they had imagined. Instead, they saw a black-haired, black-eyed male zerg lying on the ground, clutching his shoulder and groaning in pain. He looked significantly injured.

Brian, astonished, widened his eyes. “??!!?!”

What’s going on?! Just a moment ago, Lu Yuan was aggressively chasing them, ready to fight, and now, in the blink of an eye, he’s suddenly lying on the ground?!

Lu Yuan, in his lifetime, would tolerate anything except being taken advantage of. He wanted everything but his dignity to remain intact. When he saw Brian pointing at him just now, he swiftly laid himself on the ground at light speed, expertly embodying the spirit of playing the victim. He lay there, writhing in pain, moaning, “Oh… my shoulder hurts so much… It’s killing me… Can someone take me to the infirmary, please…”

“Lu Yuan?!”

Yusto’s expression changed slightly as he realized this incident was now involving him. He quickly stepped forward to assess the situation, helping Lu Yuan up from the ground. “What happened to you?”

Yulejia was also taken aback. “Your Excellency Lu Yuan, what happened? What just occurred?”

When pretending to be human, Lu Yuan looked human. When pretending to be a dog, he looked like a dog. But when faking illness, he looked neither human nor dog. Now, he “weakly” lay in Yusto’s arms, one hand clutching his shoulder, the other pointing feebly at Brian and the others. “They just attacked me, six against one. My shoulder and legs are injured. Can you please take me to the infirmary?”

Yusto’s sharp eyebrows furrowed sharply at Lu Yuan’s words, his tone turning cold. “They attacked you, six against one?”

Brian and the other zergs were infuriated by his words, clearly shocked by Lu Yuan’s shamelessness. Angered, Brian exclaimed, “Damn guy! It was clearly you who attacked us! You not only slapped me but also kicked them several times!”

Lu Yuan looked at them incredulously, saying, “There were six of you, how could I possibly have injured you?! Clearly, you’re the ones who hurt me. I can’t even stand up now!”

Brian, furious and incoherent, retorted, “You liar! When did we ever hurt you? At most, we lightly pushed you a couple of times. We have injuries on our faces and bodies; where are your injuries?!”

With a “struggling” gesture, Lu Yuan lifted his hand and pointed at his shoulder, looking up at Yusto with a somewhat pitiful expression. “Senior, they just pushed me here and caused my injuries.”

Stand! Up! For! Me!

Yusto read these four glaring words from Lu Yuan’s face. Though he found it hard to believe that Lu Yuan could be bullied by that bunch of useless zergs, he was still concerned that Lu Yuan might have genuinely been injured. Frowning, he pulled down Lu Yuan’s collar for a closer look and was astonished to find a large bruise on his left shoulder—

The result of a punch thrown by Instructor Horik yesterday.

This kind of injury would cause considerable pain even in female zergs, let alone in males. Yusto’s expression darkened instantly. He cast a dangerous look at Brian and his group, mocking them as he questioned, “Is this what you call ‘lightly pushing a couple of times’?”

“I…”

Brian didn’t expect Lu Yuan to actually have an injury, leaving him utterly speechless. In a fluster, he stammered, “I really just lightly pushed him twice!”

Lu Yuan, equally surprised to find a real injury on his shoulder, realized he had stumbled upon an unexpected opportunity. He recalled getting bitten by a snake on his leg, and his eyes lit up. Quickly rolling up his pants, he pointed to the bitten area and whispered to Yusto, “Yusto, he even bit me just now!”

Deduct his darn credits!

Yusto swiftly covered Lu Yuan’s mouth upon realizing what he was trying to do. Feeling somewhat helpless about Lu Yuan’s provocative behavior, he frowned slightly and whispered, lowering his voice, “Shh, male zergs aren’t poisonous snakes. If you want to prove he bit you, two teeth marks might not be convincing enough.”

He finally caught on; Lu Yuan was deliberately playing it up.

Lu Yuan, well aware of it, winked discreetly at Yusto. “I was just kidding.”

Compared to the male zergs who ganged up to bully, Yusto naturally sided with Lu Yuan. His eyes, tinted with a deep red hue, narrowed slightly. He surveyed the surroundings, relying on his exceptional memory to note down the student numbers on Brian and the others. His low, resonant voice reached the ears of every zerg present: “The Disciplinary Committee will thoroughly investigate this matter. However, before that, I must inform you all of some unfortunate news: due to engaging in a fight, each of you will have one credit deducted. I hope you take this as a lesson for the future.”

Brian was shocked at the announcement. “I said he attacked us! If you’re going to deduct credits, it should be from him! This matter can’t be settled like this!”

Yusto coldly interrupted him, “Your Excellency, of course, this matter won’t be settled like this. We are taking His Excellency Lu Yuan to the infirmary now. If his injuries are severe, each of you male zergs will have to cover a certain amount of his medical expenses and provide compensation for mental distress.”

Yulejia chimed in, “It’s clear that the six of you zergs ganged up on him. As for him injuring all six of you… Your Excellency, I’m more inclined to believe that you engaged in mutual combat. If there were surveillance footage, it would be even better, but unfortunately, this area is a blind spot for surveillance. We’re sorry, but we can’t assist you further.”

Brian was clever, but he had undoubtedly been too clever for his own good. During the confrontation with Lu Yuan, he deliberately forced him into a blind spot on the sports field, where even surveillance cameras couldn’t capture the events. This move ended up being a double-edged sword, as he now found himself without evidence.

Yulejia signaled to his companions to step forward and note down Brian and the others’ student numbers for the credit deduction. At the same time, they were preparing to take Lu Yuan to the infirmary. However, before they could act, they were astonished to see Yusto, who had always avoided male zergs, bend down and help Lu Yuan up from the ground.

Yulejia’s eyes widened in disbelief. “???”

Had Yusto taken the wrong medicine or something?

Yusto certainly hadn’t taken the wrong medicine; he just felt that if you were going to play a role, you had to commit fully. He helped Lu Yuan up from the ground and walked him towards the infirmary, speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear, “When we get to the doctor, you better make it look convincing.”

Lu Yuan, leaning on Yusto’s shoulder, tried his best to appear as if he had difficulty moving. Surprised, he looked at Yusto and asked, “Are you really planning to take me to the infirmary?”

He was pretending to be ill—wouldn’t going there expose his act?

Yusto raised an eyebrow indifferently, “So, is the bruise on your shoulder painted with pigment?”

It was only then that Lu Yuan realized he was referring to the bruise on his shoulder. Unconcerned, he replied, “It’ll fade in a few days.”

However, Yusto was unusually persistent, “But if you get a shot today, it’ll fade faster.”

Lu Yuan couldn’t shake the feeling that Yusto seemed eager for him to get a shot. He glanced at Yusto, recalling the events from the previous night, and casually joked, “A shot to the back of the neck, perhaps?”

“…”

Upon hearing this, Yusto’s steps faltered. He remained silent for a few seconds, and then, discreetly, his ears turned slightly red.
