CFMWWOM Chapter 16

“Who?”

For a moment, Qiao Shu didn’t react. When he understood that Gu Chenyan was asking about Xie Yuxi, he was dumbfounded: “…”

“Is he a friend?”

Gu Chenyan’s eyelids pressed down imperceptibly. The way that person looked at Qiao Shu wasn’t clean.

“No!”

Qiao Shu blinked, quickly distancing himself. Then, he reluctantly and honestly explained, “We dated for three days in middle school… Well, not exactly dated. We haven’t been in touch since then. Who would have thought we’d bump into each other today…”

Avoiding the term “ex-boyfriend,” Qiao Shu didn’t want to use those words for this person.

“Date?”

Gu Chenyan’s lipline tightened slightly.

Qiao Shu awkwardly smiled, “It was just a youthful mistake, only three days. We didn’t keep in touch afterward. Who would have thought we’d meet today…”

He wanted to invite him, and even mentioned that “thing”…

Can’t think about it!

The mind is getting dirty!

Gu Chenyan asked, “What does he want you to consider?”

Qiao Shu: “…”

Can he say it?

Dirty mouth and dirty thoughts!

Gu Chenyan looked at Qiao Shu.

Qiao Shu had a complex expression on his face. In the end, he carefully chose a euphemistic term, “He wants to rekindle our past connection.”

Immediately, he clarified, “But I rejected him.”

Gu Chenyan: “He still wants you to consider.”

Qiao Shu: “…”

Gu Chenyan seized the key point, “He doesn’t know you’re married?”

Qiao Shu: “…”

“Yes.”

He didn’t say.

Gu Chenyan fell silent.

After a few seconds, he asked, “Why didn’t you tell him?”

Saying it would have resolved the entanglement.

Qiao Shu: “…”

This misunderstanding was getting serious!

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to say, but he simply didn’t want to talk to Xie Yuxi, this shameless eccentric. Moreover, if Xie Yuxi could suggest that “thing”, mentioning that he was a married man would probably make Xie Yuxi even more excited. The next sentence might still be an invitation.

Gu Chenyan continued to watch him.

Qiao Shu felt a bit uneasy under his gaze as if he had done something to betray Gu Chenyan…

No, absolutely not!

“I didn’t get the chance to say,” Qiao Shu swallowed nervously, “The moment you arrived, my attention was entirely on you. I haven’t looked at him since then!”

He almost swore to the heavens!

Gu Chenyan’s tense lips relaxed a bit.

“Next time, if he bothers you again, tell him,” Gu Chenyan advised.

Qiao Shu: “Okay.”

“Or you can tell him now,” Gu Chenyan suggested.

Qiao Shu: “…”

“Over the phone,” Gu Chenyan specified.

“But I don’t have his number,” Qiao Shu replied.

Gu Chenyan looked at him.

“Nor do I have his WeChat,” Qiao Shu added.

“I don’t have any of his contact information.”

A slight smile played on the corner of his lips.

Gu Chenyan: “Then talk to him next time.” After a pause, he added, “Bring your assistant with you.”

He inquired, “Is your current assistant a girl?”

Qiao Shu: “Yes.”

Gu Chenyan: “I’ll arrange a male assistant for you.”

Qiao Shu was taken aback, “Huh?”

Gu Chenyan casually explained, “A male assistant is stronger and can handle some physically demanding tasks.”

Such as chasing someone away.

Gu Chenyan squinted slightly.

“No need, no need,” Qiao Shu waved his hand, “I don’t have much going on, and Sister Yue is enough.”

Besides, he didn’t have much fame at the moment, and having two assistants seemed a bit too conspicuous.

Gu Chenyan looked at him, “What if he continues to bother you?”

Qiao Shu: “…”

Gu Chenyan: “Having someone around you will make me feel more at ease.”

“Alright.”

“Listen to you.”

Qiao Shu was taken aback by this sudden gentleness and dominance, feeling a bit dizzy.

By the time he regained clarity, he had already agreed.

Qiao Shu: “…”

Well, it’s just one more male assistant. Some newly famous actors even have four or five assistants.

He only had two.

Having come to terms with it, Qiao Shu calmed down.

Suddenly, he turned his eyes and asked, “Gu Chenyan.”

Gu Chenyan: “Hmm?”

Qiao Shu, in a somewhat peculiar and amused mood, inquired, “Were you jealous just now?”

Gu Chenyan looked puzzled, “Jealous?”

Qiao Shu: “…”

Wasn’t he?

Qiao Shu carefully observed Gu Chenyan’s expression and, to his disappointment, realized that Gu Chenyan probably wasn’t jealous at all. Maybe it was just because they were married, driven by the possessiveness of the president…

The joy value plummeted to the bottom.

Qiao Shu awkwardly said, “It’s nothing.”

A few seconds later, Qiao Shu rallied again. It didn’t matter if Gu Chenyan wasn’t jealous; possessiveness and jealousy were almost the same.

Happiness returned.

Fifteen minutes later, the black car stopped outside the only star-rated hotel nearby.

Following Gu Chenyan, Qiao Shu entered a luxurious private room. Soon, waiters entered in succession, serving the dishes.

Gu Chenyan: “Sorry, time may be tight, so I’ll decide for now.”

Qiao Shu was nonchalant, “I’m not picky.”

In fact, Gu Chenyan had asked Qiao Shu what he wanted to eat last night, and Qiao Shu had replied, “Anything”. Moreover, with tight filming schedules, he had limited time available, needing to return to the set for makeup and styling before 1 PM. Considering this, Gu Chenyan had the hotel prepare in advance.

Most importantly, Qiao Shu’s eyes lit up looking at the dishes on the table – all his favorites. Although they hadn’t shared many meals together, this man seemed to remember his preferences with great care.

Qiao Shu grinned foolishly.

He enjoyed the meal heartily, not just because after half a month, he was finally having a meal with Gu Chenyan, but also because he hadn’t had such delicious food in half a month.

Qiao Shu: QAQ

The boxed meals from the crew are too terrible.

Gu Chenyan silently watches.

Occasionally, he helps Qiao Shu pick some dishes and puts them into his bowl.

After eating and drinking their fill, Qiao Shu holds his stomach contentedly, squinting his eyes in satisfaction.

Gu Chenyan asks, “Full?”

Qiao Shu nods in contentment, “Full.”

Gu Chenyan says, “Well, sit for a while, then we’ll go to where you’re staying.”

Qiao Shu questions, “Huh?”

Gu Chenyan adds, “I brought clothes for you.”

Only then does Qiao Shu recall this.

After sitting for a few minutes, they head outside. At the same time, Chen Wenyuan and the driver come out from another private room.

Qiao Shu stops in his tracks.

He awkwardly tiptoes and whispers in Gu Chenyan’s ear, “Gu Chenyan, did we forget to invite Assistant Chen and the others to join us for dinner?”

Gu Chenyan pauses.

Then, imitating Qiao Shu’s actions, he leaned close to Qiao Shu’s ear and whispered, “They are eating in the next room.”

His warm breath spilled onto Qiao Shu’s ear, causing a sensitive shiver. His earlobes gradually changed color, becoming warm.

Qiao Shu’s legs trembled, and his heels touched the ground. Unable to resist, he raised his hand to rub his ear, saying, “I see.”

Chen Wenyuan and the driver behind them looked slightly surprised.

Since the entire hotel was booked by the crew, there weren’t many people around. The front desk only had the owner sitting there, scrolling through their phone.

The driver carried the luggage and followed the two. When they reached the room, the driver astutely placed the suitcase down and left with Chen Wenyuan.

The door closed.

Gu Chenyan’s gaze carefully surveyed the not-so-large and somewhat rudimentary room.

Qiao Shu, initially not finding anything special about the room, suddenly felt it was too simple as Gu Chenyan, dressed in a luxurious suit, stood there.

Cough

Qiao Shu cleared his throat to speak.

Gu Chenyan looked at him, asking, “Can you stay here comfortably?”

Qiao Shu paused and replied, “Well, everyone stays the same. Because I play the male supporting role, the director specially assigned a single room for me.”

He smiled and asked, “Do you want some water?”

As Qiao Shu was about to fetch a cup to rinse and pour hot water, his hand was suddenly grabbed.

Qiao Shu turned around and saw Gu Chenyan’s eyes staring at him intently.

“Qiao Shu.”

“It’s getting late.”

Qiao Shu was slightly taken aback.

The man in front of him lowered his head to look at him and then took a step toward him.

In an instant, the distance between them was closed.

Their breaths gradually intertwined ambiguously.

Qiao Shu tilted his head slightly.
