Sun Tianjiao was dumbfounded.
With his brain clouded by alcohol, he began to try and make sense of Bian Shu’s words.
For example, liking could mean admiration; he admired many people, and he was one of them.
Or it was just a joke to tease him, and he shouldn’t take it seriously.
Or that he was the long-lost nephew of his seventh aunt from his mother’s side.
But Sun Tianjiao couldn’t even utter a sentence to ease the atmosphere. He was probably really drunk. After a long pause, he blurted out, “What kind of like?”
Bian Shu tilted his head to look at him, silent for a long while before slowly responding, “What do you think?”
Sun Tianjiao was momentarily stunned, feeling an electric thrill rush to his head, as if his system had crashed.
Bian Shu continued to gaze at him with deep, dark pupils, unwavering in his stare.
In the dim ambiance of the French restaurant and the faint scent of alcohol, his intense gaze was overwhelming, forcing one to look away.
Sun Tianjiao moved his lips, about to speak, then suddenly furrowed his brows, immediately covering his mouth.
His neck twitched twice, his shoulders suddenly shrunk. Without saying much, he immediately stood up and rushed to the bathroom.
Fortunately, there weren’t many people in the restaurant, and he didn’t encounter any obstacles on the way. It was just that his steps felt like stepping on cotton, floating and swaying.
Dragging his uncooperative legs, Sun Tianjiao hurled himself at the toilet in the restroom, beginning to vomit violently.
This was his first time drinking wine to the point of vomiting. Perhaps it was because he had never drunk such expensive wine before and didn’t know his limit.
He only felt his stomach churning violently, blood rushing to his head in waves. After vomiting several times, he couldn’t control the spasms of his body. Finally, he knelt down by the toilet bowl, unable to support himself anymore.
It had been many years since he felt this uncomfortable. His stomach was already empty, leaving only acidic water.
Sun Tianjiao felt a bit exhausted, but the alcohol had already mixed into his bloodstream, still making him dizzy.
“Damn it…”
After resting for a while, he finally came out from the compartment in the bathroom, bent over the sink to rinse his mouth.
Cleaning the filth from his lips, the rush of blood slowly receded, and his face turned an unnatural shade of pale.
Before he could check his reflection in the mirror, a tissue was handed to him, wiping his mouth in one swift motion.
Bian Shu: “You’ve had too much to drink. I’ll take you back.”
Sun Tianjiao grabbed the tissue, wiped it vigorously, soaking up the drops of water, then raised his eyes, swaying unsteadily, “Wait a moment, we haven’t finished our conversation just now.”
Bian Shu paused for a moment, then smiled helplessly, “In your current state, I don’t want to talk to you.”
Sun Tianjiao: “….”
Sun Tianjiao’s expression was complex, and he glanced at Bian Shu restlessly.
In truth, he was rather impatient by nature, unable to keep things bottled up.
But he had to admit Bian Shu was right.
In his current state, he wasn’t fit to be accountable for his words.
Bian Shu: “Stop swaying, hold onto me.”
Sun Tianjiao was puzzled, “Was I swaying?”
Bian Shu: “Do you want me to record it for you to see tomorrow?”
Sun Tianjiao: “Impossible, my alcohol tolerance is so good, I couldn’t have been swaying.”
Bian Shu firmly pressed down on Sun Tianjiao’s shoulder, guiding him into his embrace, comforting him as they walked out of the bathroom, “Okay, you didn’t sway.”
Sun Tianjiao was finally satisfied.
As they walked, Bian Shu commented, “You’re amazing. You’re the first person I’ve seen get drunk on Lafite in this restaurant.”
Sun Tianjiao snorted, even in his drunken state, he didn’t forget to retort, “You’re also amazing. You’re the first sugar daddy to like me. Are you blind?”
Bian Shu chuckled and chose to ignore him.
After calling the restaurant’s valet service, Sun Tianjiao slumped over the table to catch his breath.
After waiting for about ten minutes, a waiter informed them that the car was ready at the restaurant’s entrance. Bian Shu then supported Sun Tianjiao as they left.
Sun Tianjiao might have been drunk, but his instinct to avoid trouble was ingrained deep within him.
As soon as he entered Bian Shu’s car, he immediately covered his head with a takeaway bag provided by the restaurant.
Bian Shu: “…”
Bian Shu: “What are you doing?”
Sun Tianjiao, holding the handles of the bag and speaking with a muffled voice, said: “If I dirty it, I can’t afford to pay for it.”
Bian Shu quickly pulled the bag off his head, “Tell me in advance if you feel like vomiting, you don’t need to pay for anything.”
Sun Tianjiao looked disappointedly at the bag taken away from him for a few seconds before turning to admire the car’s interior with a gaze full of affection.
He stroked the upholstery, unable to stop himself from exclaiming: “Ah, so expensive, I can’t afford this, when can I ever afford something like this? So expensive, feels so nice.”
Bian Shu watched him gushing over the luxury car and rolled his eyes helplessly, then told the chauffeur: “Riverside Beautiful View.”
The car headed towards Sun Tianjiao’s home.
If Sun Tianjiao were sober, Bian Shu would have liked to express his feelings. However, given Sun Tianjiao’s drunken state, he felt any confession would be wasted; Sun might not even remember it the next day.
When the car entered the residential area, Bian Shu instructed the chauffeur to wait, and he helped Sun Tianjiao towards the building.
As they reached the lobby, two workers were busy near the elevator. One of them turned and said: “Sorry, the elevator is out of order, you’ll have to use the stairs.”
Bian Shu, supporting Sun Tianjiao with one arm, frowned and asked: “When will it be fixed?”
Worker: “Not sure, it’s definitely faster if you take the stairs.”
Bian Shu considered the floor Sun Tianjiao lived on and found it unrealistic to drag a drunk man up so many flights of stairs.
Bian Shu: “The elevator at your place is broken, we can’t go back there for now. Will you come with me?”
Sun Tianjiao: “Huh?”
Bian Shu: “To my place?”
Sun Tianjiao: “Isn’t it inappropriate for us to share a bed?”
“You’re thinking too much; it’s just a place for you to crash.”
“Oh.”
“I don’t really fancy sharing a bed with a drunk either.”
“Hmph, you’re looking down on me.”
Actually, Sun Tianjiao’s words were completely disconnected from his thoughts. He didn’t even know if what he said to Bian Shu made sense.
Bian Shu helped him back into the car, leaving the driver somewhat puzzled.
Bian Shu took a deep breath and informed the chauffeur of his home address, and the car turned towards the south of the city.
The traffic was a bit congested, and it took forty minutes to arrive.
Sun Tianjiao had already dozed off, the mixture of drunkenness and drowsiness making it impossible for him to distinguish where they were heading.
The car parked in the underground garage, and Bian Shu paid the fare before dragging Sun Tianjiao into the elevator.
Bian Ning had already moved back to his parents’ place, but that tiny room was still associated with her, so it wasn’t convenient for Sun Tianjiao to stay there.
There was another guest room, but it lacked bed sheets and covers.
Bian Shu supported Sun Tianjiao’s shoulder and instructed, “Stay here for a moment; I’ll go find some bed sheets and covers.”
Sun Tianjiao replied lazily, “Go ahead.”
Bian Shu let go of him but quickly grabbed him again after a moment, “Don’t sway.”
Sun Tianjiao retorted, “I’m not swaying!”
Bian Shu insisted, “If I don’t hold you, you’ll fall.”
Sun Tianjiao dismissed it, “Nonsense.”
Bian Shu said, “Let me help you to the sofa.”
Sun Tianjiao, with the alcohol giving him courage, puffed his chest and declared, “No need, I can walk there by myself! I’m not boasting; I used to practice gymnastics.”
Bian Shu sneered, “Oh, really?”
Sun Tianjiao raised his chin defiantly, “Otherwise, let’s bet!”
Bian Shu unbuttoned his suit jacket, took it off, and casually tossed it aside, “Alright, if you can walk straight, I’ll give you a thousand bucks.”
Sun Tianjiao was stunned; no matter how drunk he was, he wouldn’t forget his genuine love for money, “Wow!”
Bian Shu took a few steps quickly, sat on the sofa, rested his elbows on his knees, and beckoned Sun Tianjiao, “Come here.”
The prospect of earning a thousand bucks shocked Sun Tianjiao.
He felt he owed it to such a price to showcase some skills.
Sun Tianjiao rolled up his sleeves, his sleepy eyes replaced with a gleam of “show-me-the-money.”
“Prepare to be amazed!”
With that, Sun Tianjiao wrapped his right hand around his armpit, grabbed his ear, bent down, and started spinning in circles.
His movements were a bit rough, pulling up his clothes halfway and revealing a sliver of his waist.
His waist was slender and fair.
Sun Tianjiao spun in place ten times, stumbling and swaying in the process.
But he thought he was doing exceptionally well, as if a few adjustments would lead him straight to the Olympics.
After completing the ten spins, Sun Tianjiao straightened his body, walked proudly towards Bian Shu, and declared, “See? Straight line!”
Bian Shu narrowed his eyes and saw Sun Tianjiao wobbling and swaying towards him in a zigzag pattern.
“Straight as an arrow.”
“Basic gymnastics skills.”
“You can’t do it, can you?”
Sun Tianjiao finally wobbled in front of Bian Shu, then grinned mischievously, extended his hands, cupping them together like a bowl, “Money, please.”
Then, as if boneless, he knelt down and collapsed at Bian Shu’s feet.
Bian Shu was initially surprised, then reached out and pulled Sun Tianjiao into his arms.
Sun Tianjiao exuded the scent of wine, his eyes bloodshot with intoxication, struggling to focus.
But he still kept his eyes wide open, like an innocent fawn, waiting for someone to slip some money into his hands, completely disregarding the fact that he had fallen into someone’s arms in such a disheveled state.
Bian Shu’s eyes darkened, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
He seemed to have said earlier that he didn’t want to get in bed with a drunk.
Little did he know he would be contradicted so soon.
Bian Shu grabbed a tissue from the table and stuffed it into Sun Tianjiao’s ‘little bowl,’ saying, “This represents a thousand yuan; you walked really straight.”
Sun Tianjiao giggled, “Hehe.”
With Sun Tianjiao’s waist in his grasp, Bian Shu felt the undeniable warmth of the body in his arms. He took a deep breath as his sense of reason clashed fiercely with his impulses.
Oblivious, Sun Tianjiao struggled out of Bian Shu’s embrace, bursting with enthusiasm, “I’ll do it again!”
Bian Shu was perplexed, “?”
Sun Tianjiao carefully inquired, “Is there another thousand?”
After a moment, Bian Shu chuckled meaningfully, leaned back into his chair, loosened a button on his shirt, and said in a low voice, “Yes, there’s a thousand for every time you walk.”
Sun Tianjiao’s eyes gleamed with the unique greed for money. He quickly wobbled to the door, then arrogantly dashed back, rushed into Bian Shu’s arms without any restraint, and eagerly lifted the ‘little bowl’, waiting for Bian Shu to stuff tissues into it.
