ABV Chapter 79.1

Things become more interesting

After frantically seeking solace from Chu Yinlong, Jiang Dao fell asleep from exhaustion.

At night, he dreamed again of a silent battlefield.

Dragging his wounds and crawling in the blood, he couldn’t hear anything or see any living thing… He turned over fallen corpses, and saw familiar but lifeless young faces… He wanted to speak, but his throat was burning and couldn’t make any sound…

In the end, he lay on the ground weakly, feeling his vitality rapidly draining away, and the knell of death was getting closer and closer…

Suddenly, a warm embrace fell around him, supporting him to sit up slowly.

It was immediately followed by a laughing voice: “Still lying on the ground? We’re done shooting.”

He raised his head blankly, and found that the ‘dead’ he had just seen sat up from the ground one after another, wiping off the bloody makeup on their faces, smirking at him with open mouths.

“Captain Jiang is too much into the drama, do you really think we are dead?”

“Brother Dao, although we lost the battle this time, the director said that the shots were very good, and he will reward us with a box of canned food! Everyone in the crew will get one!”1it’s a reference to the apocalyptic world the movie is set in as canned food is rare/used as a reward

“No matter what, Jiang Dao, you have to live. I didn’t help you to block that claw for you to feel sorry for yourself. you have to act well in the future, including my share, you know?”

Behind him, a man hugged him and said with a smile, “Leave him to me, don’t worry.”

His comrades smiled and wiped the blood from their faces, stood up one by one, and bade him farewell with smiles on their faces.

“I’m leaving first, Jiang Dao. You have to be happy and live a good life with your lover.”

“I’m leaving, Brother Dao! Don’t keep thinking about me. I want to sleep with Xiao Juan in Xiao Juan’s dream every day. K, it’s a promise, don’t dream of me again!”

“Jiang Captain, just like you, we’ll find a new world and a new life, so I’ll leave first!”

They turned around and walked into a bright white light smiling…

Suddenly a crisp sound like birds chirping entered his ears. Jiang Dao slowly opened his eyes, and saw Chu Yinlong looking at him worriedly in the morning light, reaching out to help him wipe the tears from the corners of his eyes.

“Did you have a nightmare?” Chu Yinlong asked softly.

“No.” Jiang Dao smiled. “It’s a good dream.”

Chu Yinlong didn’t believe him. “You cry when having good dreams?”

Jiang Dao raised his eyebrows and spoke freely: “I dreamed that you bullied me and made me cry. You really were too much, even tying me up and whipping me with a whip, which made me…”

Chu Yinlong quickly blocked the young man’s wild mouth.

When he returned to the set, Jiang Dao’s mood had completely returned to normal.

Of course, because of the crying scenes yesterday, his eyes were still a little swollen, but this did not affect filming. In the next scene Xia Tian is carried away by resistance members who came to their rescue, and Little Gray Wolf has a scene where he walks alone through the gathering place of the fallen and wounded soldiers.

This scene is a silent long shot, without lines. Jiang Dao can only use his eyes and actions to express the inner struggle and emotional transformation of Little Gray Wolf on this short journey.

There is no precedent for Mu Zhixing filming such a scene.

Everyone has different opinions when it comes to interpreting emotions. It is normal for an actor’s understanding to differ from the director’s understanding, so Mu Zhixing directly scheduled two hours, if not the entire morning, to film this scene.

Unexpectedly, when Jiang Dao put on makeup and stood at the end of this road full of tragedy and sadness, his whole person seemed to melt into it.

Little Gray Wolf dragged a seriously injured arm and walked silently past the wounded. What caught his eye was blood, and what filled his ears were bursts of mourning. His footsteps did not stop, and there were no tears in his eyes. The sadness and pain in his body seemed to condense, leaving a trail of footprints darker than blood on the path…

Finally, after walking the entire way, Jiang Dao stood silently for a while, then turned his head to look at Director Mu.

Director Mu returned to his senses, and quickly went to look at the screens of each camera.

After a long while, Mu Zhixing slowly exhaled a breath, smiled and gave Jiang Dao a thumbs up. “Amazing.”

The “disabled” all over the ground were immediately excited, and got up. ”Director, did it pass?”

Mu Zhixing nodded: “Passed.”

Tang Yao, who played a corpse this time, was shocked. “Damn, Xiao Dao, are you a fairy? Passing such a scene in one take?!”

Jiang Dao turned to look at the field of “fake corpses” in front of him, and suddenly laughed.

He raised his hand and shrugged, and raised his eyebrows at Tang Yao. “This is my strength, Brother Yao!”

In exchange, Tang Yao booed.

A makeup artist wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, and followed suit: “I don’t know who wouldn’t cry all morning when filming a crying scene for the first time!”

The lighting engineer next to her immediately agreed: “Yes! How can you praise yourself like this!”

The prop master also joined in the fun: “Xiao Dao, you have made great progress, but don’t be too proud! Look at Teacher Chu, he never praises himself for his strength.”

“Okay, okay, get ready for the next scene.” Director Mu interrupted everyone’s jokes with a smile. “If we end early today, let Jiang Dao invite us for afternoon tea!”

The schedule really ended early that day due to Jiang Dao’s godly performance during several consecutive one-man dramas. His emotions were perfect, and tears fell as needed. Even Mu Zhixing, who was the most critical of details, couldn’t pick out any faults in his emotions and micro-expressions.

After three o’clock in the afternoon, all scenes scheduled that day were completed. Of course, Jiang Dao could not avoid the fate of inviting the whole crew to afternoon tea.

The next few days were filled with romantic drama.

The resistance lost the battle and retreated to the northern fortress. Although the conditions were difficult, it was the most beautiful part of the emotional line in the whole film.

Both Little Gray Wolf and Xia Tian are recovering from their injuries. Sharing the same mind, they got along day and night, taking care of each other. Little Gray Wolf also decided to leave the city guards completely, and tried to compensate the resistance however he could for the harm his actions did.

However, the emotional tone became increasingly depressing and contradictory.

Because even if Little Gray Wolf no longer provided information to Dawn City, the resistance army made sacrifices on their escape. It was as if the other party knew their whereabouts, and the atmosphere was full of anxiety and unknowns.

The oppression in the story’s background, the beauty of the characters’ feelings, and the full sense of contradiction led to increasingly demanding requirements from Mu Zhixing.

“Stop. Little Gray Wolf doesn’t feel right, suppress yourself a little more.”

“Again! Xia Tian should be more nervous.”

“No, the close-up shadows are too heavy, move the lights two degrees over.”

“Wait a minute, add a fan here, Little Gray Wolf’s hair should flutter more beautifully in this shot.”

“Tsk, it doesn’t feel right. Let me see… You two try to get closer, make more eye contact, and try again.”

“…Forget it, let’s get rid of the fans.”

After several days of filming, not only Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong, but also the lighting, props, and makeup of the crew were about to collapse.

Of course, Director Mu can see everyone’s state. After this section of literary drama came to an end, he gave everyone a day off to let everyone adjust their state and prepare for the intense battle plot.

It’s halfway through May now. During this month, news about Tianqin Capital, Qin Jiangshan, and Qin Xiao has continued spreading online.

Including how at beginning of the establishment of Tianqin Capital, the start-up capital and network resources were both basically provided by Zhang Tong;

Apart from Jiang Ruo, Qin Jiangshan also had an extramarital affair with another woman surnamed Chen. After forcing Chen to have an abortion, he indirectly caused her depression and later suicide;

They also captured Qin Xiao being dragged away from reporters, screaming like a madman, saying that Jiang Dao and Liu Yueran are both devils, and how they were harassing him recently and want to kill him…

Although Qin Xiao seems insane, the police still did their due diligence following his “report”.

As a result, after an investigation, it was discovered that Jiang Dao had been filming in the crew recently and had never left the studio. It was completely impossible for Qin Xiao to do something like “standing beside my bed and terrorizing me every night”. Liu Yueran wasn’t alone recently either, and no fault could be found with his alibi either.

Tian Qin had no choice but to release Qin Xiao’s mental diagnosis to explain his unwise behavior and try to win the public’s sympathy.

However, the day after the diagnosis certificate was released, the police received an anonymous report. They immediately seized a large amount of banned drugs from Qin Xiao’s villa, and arrested him.

All the netizens suddenly realized: What mental illness? Qin Xiao’s craziness is definitely from drugs!

The day Director Mu gave the crew a holiday was already the second day after Qin Xiao was arrested.

The latest news is that Qin Jiangshan suddenly fell ill last night and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He refused any visits and interviews, and only his most trusted secretary, Chen Si, is by his side.

Looking at the information overwhelming the internet, Jiang Dao suddenly remembered the scene in the book where the original owner was imprisoned for doing evil things.

At that time, public opinion was congratulating his arrest, and no one saw the darkness and filth of Qin Jiangshan and Qin Xiao. These two names weren’t even in the book. They hid behind the scenes, quietly manipulating the life of the original Jiang Dao with a pair of black hands.
