ASDP Chapter 34

A Letter from the Alchemist

When I went back to the first floor and heard my father’s story, it seemed that the message from Alfie to me was a request from the alchemist.

“He knew that even if he sent me a letter, it would be rejected, so I guess he passed it through Alfie. The content is about the text box developed by Amelia. I guess it was unexpected that Alfie would send a letter to me.”

Normally, if it’s a request to me, he will send a letter to me. The alchemist must not know how Alfie’s devotion to my father is yet. Even from the situation the other day, if Alfie can communicate with my father, he will definitely give priority to that.

“What kind of information does he want about the text box?”

“He wants you to send the real thing. If you say it’s because you’re in the middle of getting a patent, he won’t imitate it, but it seems that he heard that you delivered the prototype to the material shop.”

……I’m sure it’s information about my father’s relative, so I’m sure he’s quick to hear.

Recalling the state of Alfie and the former subordinates of my father I met in the capital, I guessed that the difference in the degree of infatuation must be the same lineage of all alchemists.

“I can give it separately, but if I don’t make it again, there’s no spare.”

I only made 5 for Theo, for Alfie, for myself and for patent application, and for decorating as an example at the store. Still, I think the production speed was just at the limit so much that I wanted to praise myself for doing my best. If he had told me a little earlier, I could have given him my own, but I’ve already registered my magic, so no one can use it except for me, and that won’t make sense.

“He’ll pay for the materials and technical costs well, so if he sends the materials from there, can you make one? I think it will be good pocket money.”

“I’ll ask my father to negotiate, so let me know when the materials come.”

I’m not thinking about doing business with this, so if he pays for the material cost, there’s no problem to give it as a gift.

“But I wish it could go through the store normally.”

“What you gave to the store is only a text box that allows you to register magic, and there is no mechanism for the letter to burn when others open it, right? It seems that other than registrants, they are worried about the mechanism by which the letter burns. The only thing that used the registration of magical power is a magic sword, so the text box made by Amelia is a pretty novel idea.”

It’s just a combination of existing things… Well, I think the material is quite special, so this area is the privilege of the material shop’s daughter.

“The solicitation is going to be noisy if they want to make Amelia an alchemist again.”

“Eh. Is there such an invitation?”

“It’s half for the materials I’m picking, and half for Amelia’s ability. Because Amelia is the same as me and has a lot of miscellaneous knowledge for a magician. Some magicians have many attributes, so there are many people who can only use attack magic, and some look down on the alchemist.”

“Ah. There is.”

Alchemists often have fewer attributes than magicians, that is, those who have lower qualities of magicians.

Therefore, there were some idiots in the school who did not acquire knowledge of magic tools. If you’re going to take a journey to defeat monsters, it’s more advantageous to have more hands, but they can’t be the best because they have that kind of preference. And the more idiots who don’t learn by looking down on the alchemist, the more they say that it’s because I’m a woman, so there’s little relationship with me.

Alchemy is a discipline that has been accumulated over a very long period of time, and it is worthy of respect.

“It can’t be helped that people look down on it, and the knowledge of alchemy is very interesting. However, alchemists have little knowledge of magicians, so they want to bring in talented magicians. Because the people over there have a great desire for knowledge. If the material is also rare, please let me study it. It’s troublesome.”

“The glasses were made and it was a role, though.”

My father looked like it’s very troublesome, so I’ll follow his lead just in case.

“I can’t do anything if it’s helpful, so I’m drawing a line in my relationship with them. As long as they have the ability to fight, they can ravage the mountain for the sake of their thirst for knowledge. This text box is good and I want you to spread it, but you shouldn’t make a request, right?”

I thought that the alchemist and my father seemed to be on good terms, but the trust in the alchemist’s desire for knowledge seems to be quite low. My father speaks as if he is tired.

By the way, I think he was originally quite reluctant to give the ore of the material to make glasses. Alchemists are probably troublesome because they have money. But I think we have a good relationship with each other in the area where they hire a magician to come to this mountain to pick it up, and worship my father and sell it to him.

After that, when I returned to my room, I wrote letters for Theo and Alfie, and also wrote instructions for handling the text box. The reason why I feel that the letter to Theo is strangely thick is because I often write various experiment reports and recent status reports. Yeah. I have no other intention.

I’ll leave the mail to my father, and I’ll be enthusiastic to further study and report the maga by the time the letter comes next time.

“Oh, but you have to be careful about safety.”

The moment I saw the light blue text box, I remembered the letter from Theo, and I calmed down. If I do it bad and get hurt, I won’t have the face to look at Theo. The study of the maga is a long-term battle.

For the next two weeks, I conducted a vegetation survey in the mountains to study the maga. Plants growing in a position close to the maga tend to spit out more mana, but I can’t say anything if I don’t investigate more, and there is only a halfway result that I feel that the grass is more affected by the maga. And mushrooms, which are between monsters and plants, also have some strange results. Apparently, the mushroom has become a monster, but it seems to keep spitting out mana like a plant. This is going to take a long time just to examine the vegetation of the mountain.

But if I investigate the mushrooms, it may lead to the reason for suppressing demonization.

“Ah. There is not enough confirmed content to report.”

I want to report coolly that I was able to investigate so much, but it doesn’t go well.

When I was living like that every day, I hadn’t heard from Theo yet, but Alfie sent me a report via the alchemist first.

“Amelia, it seems that something troublesome happened to Alfie.”

“Is it troublesome?”

“I thought there was a possibility that Alfie wouldn’t be able to quit being a priest, but I thought he would be able to pull out enough if he had the recommendation of an alchemist.”

“He couldn’t do it?”

I heard that Alfie’s position was quite bad.

I guess the bottleneck is that a priest who is an orphan. But it’s common for talented orphans to be taken in by aristocrats, so I thought he could manage if it was because of money.

“No, it seems that he pulled it off with a push in the end. Actually, it seems that there was a saint who was obsessed with Alfie.”

“……Maybe the person who was serving poison-like food to Mr. Alfie?”

When you say that they’re obsessed with him who is in a low position among priests, what suddenly comes to mind is the saint who created a drama called cooking and let Alfie process it every time.

“There was such a person. I don’t know because he didn’t write that much, but apparently the obsessive saint seems to have run away from home or run out of the temple because Alfie quit being a priest.”

“Eh?”

Ran away from home?

A saint?

I’m surprised by so many things. It’s good if they aren’t kidnapped, but there are few things I can do from the countryside far away from the royal capital.

“It’s a contact that says it might cause some trouble, so Amelia, please worry about it too.”

“No. Even if it’s a nuisance, I don’t have any plans to go to the capital.”

I shook my head at the word nuisance.

I can’t imagine how it can cause me trouble.

But ten days later. I came to remember this advice.

I feel like Amelia’s personal grudge is about to get worse.
