“Kiss! Kiss!”
Someone in the crowd started shouting, and a group of wealthy young men joined in the fun, breaking the silence between them. Zuo Chi looked up, smiled at the audience, and then proactively hooked Sheng Li’s neck and kissed him.
Sheng Li gritted his teeth, preventing his tongue from slipping in, but Zuo Chi slyly licked his lips, teasing him.
In this solemn occasion, Zuo Chi stuck closely to the blocking patch, without leaking any pheromones.
Yet Sheng Li still reacted, blaming Zuo Chi’s skillful kissing.
He must have kissed many people before.
Practiced with Omegas he dated? Perhaps not just Omegas; maybe Zuo Chi had even dated Alphas without telling him.
He felt like a monkey being teased in a zoo, surrounded by spectators, unable to leave because of the situation. Worried about being seen through and embarrassed, Sheng Li hugged Zuo Chi’s shoulder, turning them half a circle so he faced away from the guests.
Zuo Chi’s heart pounded, taking the opportunity to steal some advantage, his tongue slipping into Sheng Li’s mouth, absorbing his breath.
Sheng Li sucked his soft lips hard, and somehow, the two ended up competing in kissing skills. The kiss had gone beyond mere formality; Zuo Chi was nearly drowning in it, yet unwilling to let go.
He was a man too, with an honest body. Zuo Chi caught his breath, suggested the guests begin dining, and then quickly walked into the lounge with Sheng Li.
As the lounge door closed, Sheng Li grabbed Zuo Chi’s arm. “What are you doing, getting aroused in public?”
Zuo Chi loosened his bothersome tie. “Who got aroused first?”
Sheng Li’s face darkened. “I can’t help it. The way you kiss, how could I not react?”
Zuo Chi took a step closer, his lips almost touching Sheng Li’s chin, “Stop making excuses. Saying I don’t seem like an Omega, so prove yourself. If you have the guts, don’t get hard. Is admitting your desire for me that hard?”
“That doesn’t mean anything,” Sheng Li looked away, “Even if it wasn’t you, I’d react the same with someone else.”
“Knock knock.” There was a knock on the door, and Assistant Liu called from outside, “Mr. Sheng, please open the door to take your and Mr. Zuo’s toasting outfits.”
Zuo Chi opened the door slightly, took the clothes in, “Thank you.”
“Change clothes? Or…” Zuo Chi’s gaze drifted downward, “Deal with that issue first.”
Feeling uneasy under Zuo Chi’s gaze, Sheng Li replied, “I’ll go to the bathroom.”
“No need to go to the bathroom; there are no cameras here.” Zuo Chi grabbed his hand, “I can help you.”
Help?
How?
With a surge of fire burning in his chest, increasingly ignited, just as Sheng Li was about to refuse, a nimble hand unzipped his trousers…
…
…
…
The scene before him shocked Sheng Li, “Have you done this for others?”
He found it hard to imagine Zuo Chi “helping” someone else. Just the thought of him lowering his head to please someone made his lust turn into seething anger.
Zuo Chi pulled a tissue from the table, “No.”
Sheng Li grasped his chin, “Then how are you so skilled?”
Zuo Chi raised his eyes, “What do you want me to say? That I’m smart and self-taught, or that I wanted to learn to please you?”
Though his words were seductive, Zuo Chi’s face remained expressionless. He didn’t expect Sheng Li to reciprocate.
Sheng Li’s thumb caressed his chin, his heartbeat alternating between rapid and slow. He wondered, is this really Zuo Chi? Would Zuo Chi set aside his dignity to make him happy? Their last meeting had ended badly, with him humiliating Zuo Chi in front of the Sheng family. He expected Zuo Chi to retaliate.
Zuo Chi seemed determined to disprove the notion that he wasn’t like an Omega, working hard to prove he was one.
Various images flashed through Sheng Li’s mind, considering how to learn, what to learn.
Was he going crazy too?
Zuo Chi broke free from Sheng Li’s left-hand grip, leaned in to kiss his lips, “Alright, let’s change clothes. We need to toast soon, and being late would be rude.”
Sheng Li’s heartbeat finally returned to normal. He thought, this is Zuo Chi, always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
Zuo Chi’s fingers curled as he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his delicate collarbone. His clothes came off, displaying an enviable physique. His waist was slender, seemingly easy to encircle with one hand, and his abdomen had muscle lines, though not exaggerated.
Sheng Li quickly averted his gaze and moved to the other side to change his clothes.
He was somewhat disdainful of this red traditional Chinese wedding outfit, thinking it a bit tacky. However, when he turned around and saw Zuo Chi wearing it, he was stunned for a few seconds and had to admit that Zuo Chi’s presence overshadowed the outfit’s flaws. Good-looking people make anything look good.
They went to toast together, standing side by side. Zuo Chi returned to his usual demeanor, greeting the guests gracefully. Even when others made jokes, he responded calmly and effortlessly.
“Zuo Chi and Sheng Li seem to have a great relationship,” one elder teased about that kiss.
Li Mingchuan, feeling embarrassed for them, awkwardly explained, “Young people, they have a lot of energy.”
When they reached the tables with their friends, there was even more teasing, though everyone was mindful that this was their engagement party and not a casual entertainment venue.
Zhang Xiaoyun clicked his tongue, “If I didn’t know Zuo Chi likes Omegas, I’d almost think you two were really together. That kiss was intense.”
“You acted pretty well, Sheng Li. Why don’t you join Xu Hui in the entertainment industry?”
“How does it feel to kiss your brother?” someone asked.
Sheng Li couldn’t be bothered to respond, and Zuo Chi just smiled faintly without answering.
The engagement party finally ended at 3:30 in the afternoon. Zuo Chi, who had been too busy to eat due to all the toasting and socializing, felt a bit tired. He went to the lounge to change back into his clothes and went downstairs to find the car.
He remembered the driver had parked the car at the entrance, but now it was nowhere to be seen. He took out his phone and called Shu Qingyu, who told him they had already left. “Now that you and Sheng Li are engaged, of course, you’ll stay at his place. Are you still planning to live at home after you’re married?”
The elders of both families clearly had a unanimous idea. As the Sheng family trio walked over, Sheng Changyu asked, “Xiao Chi, did you drink too much? Do you need some hot water to feel better?”
Li Mingchuan chided, “Sheng Li, you should have helped Zuo Chi avoid drinking so much.”
Sheng Li sneered, “He might be able to hold his liquor better than I can.”
“Being able to drink is one thing, but drinking too much is bad for your health,” Li Mingchuan said. “You two woke up at five or six in the morning for the engagement party. Go home, eat something, and take a nap. In the evening, Sheng Li, accompany Zuo Chi to buy some daily necessities.”
Sheng Li frowned, “What do you mean?”
Sheng Changyu announced, “The new house has been handed over. You two should discuss the decoration style and details. Make any requests, and we’ll try to complete the renovation as soon as possible so you can move in before the wedding. For now, Xiao Chi will have to stay at your place.”
Sheng Li’s face darkened, feeling once again manipulated. “I don’t agree.”
“What right do you have to disagree? That house is in your name, but your old man paid for it,” Sheng Changyu glared at Sheng Li before turning to Zuo Chi with a gentle smile. “Xiao Chi, if this brat bullies you, just tell me, and I’ll deal with him.”
Compared to going back to the Zuo family, Zuo Chi preferred staying with Sheng Li. “Don’t worry, Uncle and Uncle, we will get along well.”
The elders left in their cars, leaving Sheng Li and Zuo Chi standing at the entrance. The decorations for the engagement party hadn’t been taken down yet, and a poster of their couple’s photos was still hanging on the wall.
Sheng Li punched the wall, causing the poster to come loose and dangle precariously.
Zuo Chi felt a sharp pain in his stomach but maintained his composure. “Aren’t we leaving? The driver is waiting outside.”
Sheng Li’s tone was mocking, “Does the mighty Zuo have nowhere to go? Do you have to come home with me?”
“Yes,” Zuo Chi replied, “because you’re my fiancé.”
Fiancé. Sheng Li didn’t quite grasp the weight of that word, but hearing them from Zuo Chi made his heart flutter slightly.
Inappropriately, he thought that if Qin Rui hadn’t had his accident, Zuo Chi’s fiancé would probably be Qin Rui, not him.
He was just a backup, a substitute.
“Don’t call me that,” he said. He called a housekeeping service to send someone to tidy up the guest room. When they walked out of the hotel, he got into the passenger seat while Zuo Chi opened the back door and got in.
The pain in his stomach grew stronger, and Zuo Chi pressed his forehead against the car window, clutching his stomach. The bumpy ride made him feel nauseous.
“Do you have any medicine?” Sheng Li asked, looking into the rearview mirror.
Zuo Chi was taken aback before realizing Sheng Li was talking to him. “No.”
“There’s a pharmacy about a hundred meters ahead. Stop there,” Sheng Li told the driver.
