TSINW3 Chapter 5

“This Miserable and Delicate Young Man” -- Heartache! -- 5/12

Chapter 005 – Heartache!

The system cried out in a devastated voice, “I don’t believe you, you’re just lying to me. You clearly love me so much. You’re just trying to rile me up, aren’t you? I know it, Ah-He…”

Xie Chenyang’s goosebumps rose. [That’s a wrap ah. It’s over.]1From Editor Krone: I mean…i dunno how to explain it. but i got what he’s saying xD if we liken it to acting, it’s like the director saying “Cut! We got the shot!” something like that xD

Cen He and Li Xuyang had been together for so many years. He’d done everything for Li Xuyang and poured his heart out, and in return, Li Xuyang loved him with all his heart and never deceived him. In his mind, there was no one who knew Li Xuyang better than he did.

In Cen He’s estimation, Li Xuyang should soon have a mental breakdown, then he would go around declaring his crimes and wailing away like a fool. Cen He never anticipated that Li Xuyang would have the brains to set him up.

Of course, it wasn’t Li Xuyang himself who was setting him up.

While under the impression he was still in control, in which years of patience came to a head, Cen He floated around. “Love? After all this, do you think I’ve ever loved you? Li Xuyang, don’t deceive yourself and others anymore. After last night, you should’ve realized that I only have hate and no love for you, and for the Li family… Your loved ones are all dead, and even the property they left for you, you have delivered it to me, who is your enemy.”

“Ah-He… sob, don’t do this… to me…”

“Enough. Leave me alone. Sparing your life is the only mercy I have left.” Cen He hung up the phone.

System covered his heart and fainted while bawling and couldn’t catch his breath.

“Xiao Yang!” Yu Chengfeng put away his cell phone and hurriedly held onto Li Xuyang, shouting, “Xiao Xu! Call an ambulance!”

Xie Chenyang reclined on a beach chair with his hands behind his head, enjoying the breeze and gazing at the endless sea. “I remember reading in some novelsother people’s systems usually have some kind of spiritual springs, space, elixirs, or shopping malls. How come you just have the sea and a beach here?”

A jade flute was suspended in the air. The system’s voice was somewhat ethereal. “You can leave now.”

“In the outside world, my body’s lying on a hospital bed. Not going.” Xie Chenyang stretched out his hand. “Come here. Come and play for me.”

The system drifted farther away.

Tch, petty.” Xie Chenyang crossed his legs and wiggled. “So this is your system space? Can I come here anytime I want?”

System: “If I don’t invite you, you can’t get in.”

Xie Chenyang asked again, “Is this where you stay while I’m outside?”

System: “No.”

“Then where?”

“Host, it’s time for you to leave.”

“You invited me here, so let me stay a little longer.”

“No. Farewell.” The system kicked him out. The system was worried that Xie Chenyang would be exposed if he were to act unconscious, so he brought him back here and felt a bit foolish.

Xie Chenyang thought that when he opened his eyes he would see a heartbroken Old Man Yu. Unexpectedly, when he removed the cold washcloth from his eyes, he saw a cold and foreboding Zhai Zhi.

“Put it back on. Your eyes are swollen and ugly.”

Xie Chenyang remembered the system crying like a broken dam and silently put the washcloth back on. While his vision fell back into darkness, Xie Chenyang did not feel anxious, as his ears were sensitive enough to hear Zhai Zhi approaching.

Zhai Zhi reached out to straighten the washcloth for him. “Your fever just went down and then you cried yourself into the hospital. You’re really something.”

Xie Chenyang was certain that he heard mockery in his cold tone. Considering that when he had come into this world Zhai Zhi was the one who had reached out, taken him in, and fed him congeenow he was in the hospital and even came to see him…

Xie Chenyang generously forgave his mockery and bore the black label of crying his way into the hospital. “Thank you for coming to see me…”

“Hungry?”

“Hungry.”

“Then starve.” The gentle footsteps faded away.

Only when the sound of the door closing rang out did Xie Chenyang take the washcloth off and sit up, searching around but failing to find his cell phone. “System, where’s my cell phone?”

System: “In Zhai Zhi’s pocket.”

Xie Chenyang laid back down. “What’s the situation now?”

System: “Cen He’s getting scorched.”

Xie Chenyang felt that he had only been in the system space for a short while, but more than two hours had passed outside. While Old Man Yu had rushed Xie Chenyang to the hospital, Cen He’s exposed lover made a clarification.

She declared that the kissing photo was a problem of perspective. In fact, she had slipped in the beginning, and Cen He had wrapped his arms around her to prevent her from falling. The person who secretly took the photo just happened to take it at that angle.

She stated that, in fact, Cen He had quickly let go of her after she stabilized herself and that her child was not Cen He’s illegitimate son. Her boyfriend and Cen He had been college roommates and were still very close.

Xie Chenyang’s eyes flashed with disgust when he heard this. “Screwing a good friend’s womangarbage.”

The system laughed. “Yes, but her boyfriend has no idea and is still rejoicing.”

Because her explanation for whitewashing was that Cen He was only looking out for his good friend’s sake and taking care of the mother and child.

System: “I’ll play it for you directly, hah.”

A female voice appeared in Xie Chenyang’s mind. “My boyfriend was going to study abroad for graduate school. Of course I supported him, and we made an appointment to get married when he returned home… When he left, I realized that I was pregnant…

(Sobbing) “I was so scared that I almost asked my boyfriend to come back home, but when I called him, I heard that he was doing well in his studies there and was highly respected by his teachers. I didn’t want to waste his years of study.

“If he knew I was pregnant, he would’ve come straight back home…

“So I decided not to tell him. I’d wait for him, and he’d graduate soon…”

Xie Chenyang’s tone was a bit cranky. “Stop. Just let me knowis that child Cen He’s?”

System: “Yes, ah. She’s lying. She’s been in tears saying that she’s been under pressure herself in order to make her boyfriend’s graduation a success. She even molded a good-brother persona for Cen He.”

System: “She said that after Cen He found out about her, he respected her opinion. Instead of revealing it to his best friend, who was far away from home pursuing his studies, he took care of her and her child from time to time.”

Xie Chenyang was incredulous. “Do people believe that?”

“Believed,” the system said sullenly. “At least most people believe it… They were all saying that they wanted such a good brother… but there were some who felt that something wasn’t right, and were arguing about it.”

Xie Chenyang clenched his fist, wanting to hit someone.

System: “Then, I sent out the HD photos and short videos of them kissing.”

Xie Chenyang was delighted. “Good job! Do they still want such good brothers? Hahaha!”

The system couldn’t help but bring a hint of laughter as well. “Immediately after that, Elder Yu himself sent out the recording he made of you and Cen He.”

Xie Chenyang retorted, “You mean, you and Cen He.” The one who’d been crying and wailing wasn’t him.

System: “Zhai Zhi is approaching. Do you want me to continue playing?”

Xie Chenyang: [No need.] With all of the concrete evidence on the table, the situation was now predictable.

The door opened and Zhai Zhi walked in carrying a thermos box.

Xie Chenyang: “Not takeout?” Did he cook it himself? Touched!

Zhai Zhi pushed over a small bed table for him and slowly and methodically opened the thermos box. “The aunt from the Yu’s house made it… Do you need me to feed you?”

Xie Chenyang instantly recalled the bowl of congee Zhai Zhi had fed him on the couch earlier, and shook his head back and forth. “No, I can eat it myself.” Before it was because he had a fever and was so hungry that his arms and legs didn’t work. Not so much of a problem this time.

Auntie Xu’s stewed chicken soup was delicious and he dug in happily.

A familiar ringtone rang.

The system alerted, “Host, it’s your cell phone.”

Xie Chenyang looked at Zhai Zhi’s pants pocket.

Zhai Zhi calmly pulled it out and saw the name ‘husband’ blinking on it. He then refused the call without any change of expression: “Spam2A harassing or scam call call.”

Xie Chenyang: “…” Shouldn’t you first explain how my cell phone is in your pocket? Forget it, let’s just finish eating first.

Zhai Zhi smoothly put the phone back into his pocket as he turned it off.

Seeing Xie Chenyang eating happily, the system couldn’t help but sigh. “You’re supposed to be on the verge of heartbreak right now. Why are you eating so happily?”

Xie Chenyang’s hand holding the chopsticks stiffened.

System: “Give me some tears!”

Xie Chenyang: [Can’t cry.]

System: “Don’t keep eating!”

Xie Chenyang: [I’m hungry.]

System: “…” I worked so hard to help you with your performance, and yet you’re just going to let hunger ruin all my hard work?

Zhai Zhi dragged over a chair and sat down, watching Xie Chenyang bury his head in his food. He rubbed his fingers together slightly as he reflected on the recording he’d heard earlier. Was Xie Chenyang crying right now? Were his tears falling into the soup?

Zhai Zhi didn’t see when a jade flute suddenly appeared beside Xie Chenyang’s waist and  lightly poked and prodded the other man.

Xie Chenyang’s body trembled slightly, and his entire figure went still.

[Don’t poke! I’m ticklish!]

System: “I wouldn’t poke if you weren’t ticklish.”

The sight of him lightly trembling and enduring the tickle while stifling his laughter was mistaken as crying by Zhai Zhi. Zhai Zhi frowned slightly.

Xie Chenyang still had rice in his mouth and was about to swallow it, then tear into the system when it gave a quick jab. Xie Chenyang inhaled sharply.

“Cough-cough-cough.” He instantly choked and started coughing violently.

The rice sprayed everywhere, and not to mention, he was choking so hard that physiological tears kept slipping down with his gut-wrenching coughing.

[System, I **** you ****].

The system shrunk back into the depths of his consciousness, hiding deep within.

[Couldn’t you have fucking waited for me to swallow this bite!]

[Laozi3 老子 lǎo zi father daddy “I, your father” (in anger, or out of contempt) I (used arrogantly or jocularly) *** *** ****]

He covered his heart and kept coughing and shedding tears while using his consciousness to curse the system out from head to toe.

The system had blocked out words that shouldn’t have been used, and said serenely, “I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d choke on it.”

[You did it on purpose! You just wanted to use this way to make me cry!

The system coughed lightly. “There is someone watching, but you’re eating so well. How is this fitting? You’ve been hospitalized for being so upset that you fell unconscious.”

[You still insist on it?]

System: “I’m sorry.”

[…]

System: “I’m sorry, I was wrong. I won’t take matters into my own hands next time… Lord Host, will you forgive me~ please~?”

Xie Chenyang’s tone weakened a little: [Don’t be so fucking coy. Act normal].

System: “Lord Host ~”

Xie Chenyang: [Fuck!]

System: “…” Wow, so it turns out he eats this set4Eating this set, is saying he’s weak or susceptible to certain ways of acting..

Tissues were presented in front of him. Xie Chenyang reached out to take one and wiped his mouth. “Thank– cough coughthank you.”

Zhai Zhi handed him another cup of warm water.

Xie Chenyang drank it, which made his throat feel better, and his coughing gradually stopped. He crumpled the tissue into a ball and looked up. “Are there any more tissues?”

Zhai Zhi looked at his newly reddened eyes and tear stains on his face, and pulled a few more tissues for him with a taut face.

Xie Chenyang wiped his tears and looked at the remaining chicken soup and rice on the small table with heartache.

‘I just coughed saliva all over it ah!’

‘I may have sprayed it myself, but I can’t bring myself to eat it anymore!’

Such a waste!

Taking in Xie Chenyang’s heartbroken expression, Zhai Zhi coldly said, “How can a piece of trash be worth thinking about so much?”
