INSIDER Chapter 152

Lu Chu held Seven, whose skin was torn, and blood was flowing profusely from his wounds. His face was wet.

After Sun Haoran left, the light from the light tunnel seemed to dim slightly, but none of the people present noticed this.

Seven endured the initial pain; even though it was still excruciating, he finally regained control of his body. He slowly got up from Lu Chu’s embrace, casually wiped the blood from his face, and looked at Lu Chu with deep eyes full of affection.

Then, Seven looked at Song Gui, frowning, and said in a low, hoarse voice, “Take him away.”

By “him,” he naturally meant Lu Chu.

However, it was almost evident what would happen to Seven once Lu Chu stepped into that light circle.

Song Gui looked solemn and did not move.

Lu Chu had already wiped the moisture from his face. He looked at the still-bleeding Seven, picked up a piece of gauze and cotton from the side, and began to clean and bandage his wounds. He spoke firmly, “If you can’t cross this boundary, then we won’t leave.”

Lu Chu had never experienced what the so-called real world was. He only knew that Seven had brought him out of falsehood and death. Therefore, only when he was with Seven did he feel truly alive. If not for Seven, when his memory and his closest kin had disappeared with the end of the “City of Lost Feelings” game, he would have already died.

If only he could leave here, then the so-called “escape” and “freedom” would lose their meaning.

Lu Chu appeared gentle and warm, always smiling lightly, but he was extremely determined and resolute, as soft as he was firm.

If he decided to stay here with Seven and not step into that light circle, the only way to take him away would be to knock him out and forcefully take him.

But Song Gui did not want to do that.

Because if they really did that, once Lu Chu, who had left the “Rules,” woke up, what choice would he make?

It wouldn’t be any better than him choosing to stay here.

Seeing this, Yuan Kejie also felt anxious, “Can’t we just go out together?”

“Perhaps we can,” Seven said.

If he didn’t go out, and Lu Chu would perish here, then why not step through this door together? Even if there was only a one in ten thousand chance, maybe he could survive the punishment of the “Rules.”

Hearing this, Lu Chu immediately looked at Seven.

He had grown accustomed to the pain that felt like being torn apart from the inside out and the weakness from the steady loss of blood. Seven’s face showed no signs of pain, except for a slightly abnormal pallor, looking no different from an ordinary person. His eyes were gentle as he held Lu Chu’s hand, “I’ll go back with you.”

At this moment, Carrot came over and rubbed against Lu Chu’s leg.

Lu Chu held Seven’s hand in one hand and patted Carrot’s head with the other.

It felt like the time when he first met Seven. Seven had lost his hearing and sight, and to avoid losing each other in their blindness, he tied their hands together. Carrot followed them vigilantly.

The three of them had supported each other through the desolate and chaotic town, seeking a glimmer of hope in their despair.

That was the beginning of everything, and now, at the end, nothing had changed about who was by his side.

How wonderful.

Lu Chu smiled, “Yes, let’s go.”

If, after stepping through this light circle, only he appeared in the “real world” and Seven was nowhere to be found, he would turn around and follow him.

Luo Qi and Yuan Kejie saw the two had made up their minds. They exchanged a look and headed towards the light tunnel.

The closer they got to home, the more apprehensive they felt.

Knowing that on the other side of this light tunnel was reality, the place they had fought so hard to survive for, standing in front of the light tunnel, besides feeling uncontrollable excitement and emotion, they also felt a bit of fear.

Yuan Kejie grabbed Luo Qi’s hand, turned to her, and smiled with a pout, “Kiki, are you scared? Sister will go in with you.”

Luo Qi rolled her eyes and scoffed, “Idiot.” Despite her words, she did not pull her hand away from Yuan Kejie’s grasp.

Seeing others holding hands successfully, Song Gui glanced at the tall Qian Zhen. Qian Zhen noticed Song Gui’s gaze and turned to look at him, “What’s up?”

Song Gui shivered all over, waved his hand, and smiled, “No, nothing at all.”

At this moment, Yuan Kejie noticed something and said to the others, “Look, the color of the light circle has faded a bit. If Sun Haoran’s jinx is right and it’s time-limited, we need to move quickly!”

Seeing this, the others dared not waste any more time.

Yuan Kejie held Luo Qi’s hand and stepped into the light tunnel first.

Lu Chu and Seven walked forward side by side.

The closer Lu Chu got to the light tunnel, the more blood splattered from Seven’s body. The pain was several times stronger than before, but Seven could endure it. If it weren’t for his visibly torn skin and bloody flesh, no one would know what he was enduring. It was as if the initial agony that left him weak and in pain was just an illusion.

Song Gui sighed again. This man was strong enough not to seem human. Without further thought, he and Qian Zhen followed Yuan Kejie and Luo Qi into the light tunnel. Carrot stuck close to Lu Chu, looking up at the light circle with seemingly intelligent dark eyes.

It nudged Lu Chu’s leg and whined.

Lu Chu rubbed its head, “Let’s go.”

“Woof—”

Carrot walked into the light tunnel first.

Seven tightened his grip on Lu Chu’s hand and, holding it, walked into the light circle together.

A wave of dizziness followed, a blinding void in their minds, and then, nothing.

The soul wandered in endless confusion for an unknown length of time until finally, Lu Chu felt his soul return to his body, feeling grounded.

He shook his head and looked at where he was.

The sky was clear, with not a cloud in sight. Tall buildings stood in a modern metropolis, with wide, clean roads filled with traffic. Numerous well-dressed men and women hurriedly passed by him.

Lu Chu stood alone among them, looking around in confusion.

Despite the bustling place, no one noticed Lu Chu suddenly appearing there.

“Woof woof woof!”

The barking of a dog caught Lu Chu’s attention. He turned and saw Carrot not far away, barking and running toward him.

Lu Chu squatted down, hugged Carrot, and gently rubbed its head, looking at the towering buildings and the people around him, finding no sense of familiarity.

So, this is reality.

Where are the others?
