The rabbit head often sneaked out to play at night, and all the local celestial masters had seen it.
Last night, instead of catching resentful spirits, it wandered the streets in a strange outfit, and many celestial masters saw it.
So when a suburban resident called, claiming to have encountered a ghost and briefly describing the situation, the celestial masters immediately thought of the rabbit head.
Moreover, since Nan Deng and Lian Yi lived in the suburbs, it was impossible for any resentful spirits to dare go there.
Thus, several celestial masters hurried to the suburbs to calm and reassure the frightened resident.
Fortunately, there was no sun in the morning, and the shadows cast by the walls obscured the view enough to cover it up.
The neighbor was still a bit puzzled. “But what kind of pet is it? A parrot?”
That piece of cloth had flown directly and didn’t resemble a cat’s climbing movements.
The celestial masters vaguely agreed and also gave the neighbor some ghost-repelling tools and talisman paper.
The neighbor, busy heading to work, didn’t press further and accepted the items, watching the celestial masters leave.
Nan Deng slept in that morning and got up around noon, only to learn that the rabbit head had sneaked out to play last night, scaring the new neighbor and alarming the nearby celestial masters.
The rabbit head usually slept in the morning and at noon. So when it woke up later in the afternoon, Nan Deng called it to the living room.
With a stern face, Nan Deng said, “Why didn’t you tell us before sneaking out to play?”
The rabbit head, knowing it was in the wrong, glanced furtively at Lian Yi, who was sitting beside Nan Deng.
If it were possible, the rabbit head would love to go out and play with Nan Deng. But every night, Nan Deng was monopolized by Lian Yi.
“If you want to go out and play, you should come back earlier,” Nan Deng continued, his tone softening a bit. “If someone sees you, it will scare them.”
The Earth Spirit Hei Mao was always careful to avoid residents when it came over. Its size was becoming increasingly unlike that of an ordinary cat, and it didn’t want people to know where it frequently went.
The rabbit head drooped its ears, looking dejected, and its clothes were askew.
Nan Deng’s heart softened again, and he beckoned it over.
The rabbit head jumped into the warm embrace, and Nan Deng straightened its clothes. “Xiao Tu is so beautiful. You should let everyone see.”
He had also heard from the celestial masters about the rabbit head’s actions and understood why it had run out wearing clothes.
But in its current form, the rabbit head was like a spirit and couldn’t be seen by ordinary people with the naked eye.
Was there any way to make the rabbit head take on a physical form…?
If it had a physical body, anyone who saw it would just think it was a plush toy.
Nan Deng held the rabbit head up and examined it, trying to infuse a bit of divine power into it.
The rabbit head’s ears twitched. Its body began to slowly change until it was completely opaque.
“It’s done!” Nan Deng was overjoyed, pinching the rabbit head’s face. “Now you look even more like a toy…”
The texture still felt the same, and the rabbit head didn’t seem to be uncomfortable at all.
Its eyes were slightly confused, not understanding why Nan Deng was suddenly so happy.
Nan Deng took out his phone and realized he could now take pictures of the rabbit head. So he snapped a few photos and showed them to the rabbit head.
The rabbit head leaned close to the screen to examine the photos carefully. In the pictures, it was wearing clothes and looked much better than it did in its previous semi-transparent spirit form.
Its eyes lit up, and it pestered Nan Deng to continue taking pictures of it. It even went to the room to change into several different outfits.
They took dozens of photos, and the rabbit head selected a few of its favorites.
Nan Deng knew that Elder Weng Ping Ran had been concerned about them recently, so he sent him two of the photos.
After receiving the photos, Weng Ping Ran looked at them repeatedly and then stored them in the “Chaos God” confidential documents.
With its physical form, the rabbit head could now be seen by ordinary people and could openly follow Nan Deng to play during the day.
Nan Deng was just looking at various travel guides and wanted to see the snow and heard there were hot springs.
The rabbit head was very excited and went back to its room to drag out its little wardrobe, indicating it wanted to bring its clothes along.
Its clothes were all very small, so fitting them all into a suitcase wasn’t a problem. Nan Deng seriously instructed, “You can wear your clothes to go out and play. But when strangers are around, you mustn’t move. You have to pretend to be a toy.”
The rabbit head wiggled its ears, indicating it would obediently follow the instructions.
“Hot springs?” Lian Yi frowned slightly, seeming not to like the idea.
Nan Deng showed him the travel guide he had found and softly said, “It’s in a private room, not with other people.”
Lian Yi was silent for a moment before agreeing, “Okay.”
Nan Deng chose the destination and time. After preparing everything, the two of them set off with the rabbit head.
Nan Deng also made a simple hanging strap that could stick to the rabbit head’s head, allowing him to carry it or hang it on the side of his backpack.
This way, the rabbit head completely looked like a stuffed toy.
It indeed behaved very well. Its ears standing straight up, eyes wide open, and not moving.
When no one was around, it could move freely but couldn’t stray too far from Nan Deng.
After a half-day car ride, they finally arrived at the snowy mountain destination.
The first time Nan Deng saw real snow, he was happy and excited. He dragged Lian Yi along to ski, take the cable car, and squat in the snow to make snowmen.
The rabbit head was placed on the snow, and Nan Deng molded several snowmen that looked somewhat crooked and didn’t quite resemble the rabbit head’s shape.
When no one was looking, the rabbit head quietly shook off the snowflakes that had accidentally stuck to its clothes.
Despite it not being peak tourist season, there were still quite a few people who came to play.
Not far away, three seven or eight-year-old children were playing in the snow. They had already noticed the rabbit head doll that Nan Deng carried with him, curiously eyeing it.
The rabbit head’s design and size, coupled with its beautiful and cute headgear, were very unusual.
When Nan Deng got tired of playing and wanted to return to the hotel, as he passed by them, a voice called out to him.
“It’s so cute,” a shy little girl said, “Can I touch it?”
The fur on the rabbit head looked soft and smooth, and there were two large, shiny diamonds set in the ear cuffs.
Nan Deng bent down and squatted, “Of course you can.”
He lifted the rabbit head and gently patted it, signaling it to behave.
The rabbit head remained motionless. The little girl cautiously reached out and touched its ear.
The other two little boys also wanted to touch it, but their parents happened to call them from nearby. The three of them dropped the snow in their hands and ran off.
When they were gone, Nan Deng touched the rabbit head, “Good job, Xiao Tu. You’re very well-behaved.”
The rabbit head blinked and twitched its ears slightly, seeming somewhat disdainful.
At night, Nan Deng was going to soak in the hot spring pool.
The rabbit head knew Lian Yi definitely wouldn’t be happy with it tagging along, so it tactfully stayed in the bedroom, lying down and pretending to sleep.
Nan Deng warned it not to sneak out, and he left with Lian Yi holding his hand.
The bedroom was empty and quiet. The rabbit head, bored, twitched its ears idly, briefly watched TV, then went out to the terrace to feel the breeze.
It turned on the terrace lights and squatted on the railing, gazing downward.
The room was on the second floor, overlooking a small garden connected to the restaurant, where some people could be seen moving around.
Meanwhile, Nan Deng soaked in the warm pool.
The pool wasn’t large, just enough for two people. He held Lianyi close by the neck. “Are you happy today?”
Lian Yi made a soft “Hmm” sound, eyes half-closed, not offering much more of a response.
Seeing this, Nan Deng knew Lian Yi wasn’t really interested, just accompanying him.
“Do you have any place you like?” Nan Deng leaned closer, brushing against his cheek. “I’ll go with you.”
Lian Yi tightened his arms and kissed Nan Deng on the lips.
Nan Deng’s tongue tingled from the kiss before Lian Yi murmured, “No.”
He only liked Nan Deng. Without Nan Deng around, nothing would be enjoyable.
Nan Deng held Lian Yi’s hand, the soft, flushed cheeks touching his palm. “Then I’ll stay with you too.”
Meanwhile, the rabbit head was still squatted on the railing.
Everywhere was lit up, making even nighttime visibility incredibly clear.
In the small garden below, people were strolling, and there were a few familiar figures from the children Nan Deng had encountered during the day.
One of the little boys seemed to sense something and looked up, spotting the rabbit head on the railing.
His eyes widened in surprise, and he exclaimed, “Wow!”
The rabbit head appeared lonely on the second-floor terrace, perched on the railing as if abandoned there.
The boy glanced around and picked up a small stone from the ground, trying to see if he could knock the rabbit head down.
As he raised the stone, before he could throw it, the rabbit head’s ears twitched slightly, and it tilted its “head” to look at him.
Its eyes suddenly turned red, glowing like two bright red light bulbs in the night. It bared its teeth in a fierce expression.
The boy froze, the stone dropping from his hand to the ground. He turned and fled in fear, crying out loudly.
His parents, nearby, heard his cries and hurried over to see what had happened.
Trembling, the boy pointed toward the second-floor terrace.
The rabbit head still squatted on the railing, now back to its previous appearance, with its dull, black eyes staring blankly.
The rabbit head: That was fun.
