The filming process after that went very smoothly.
By mid-April, the remaining literary scenes were completed, and Jiang Dao’s shoulder injury was completely healed.
It just so happened that this day also coincided with Jiang Dao’s birthday, so Chu Yinlong organized a dinner for the whole crew. Everyone celebrated Jiang Dao’s birthday together, and the next day was a whole day’s vacation.
“After I met you, both birthdays were spent in the crew, and I haven’t celebrated it for you alone.” Chu Yinlong felt a little apologetic. “I won’t arrange anything in April next year. Where do you want to go and what do you want to do on your birthday? I’ll accompany you.”
Jiang Dao smiled. “It’s good to have a birthday with the crew. You see, some people who didn’t prepare gifts secretly gave me red envelopes! Two hundred yuan per person, I made money!”
Chu Yinlong couldn’t help laughing, raised his hand, and rubbed Jiang Dao’s head.
…
Soon it was April 29.
“Dawn City” directed by Mu Zhixing released its first set of promotional posters of the main characters.
On the posters, the names of Chu Yinlong and Jiang Dao are set side by side with the title of “leading actor”.
In one of the posters, the two stand with their backs facing each other, their expressions are cold, holding weapons, in opposing light and shadows. In the other poster, the two are embracing face to face, their noses are touching, and a dim light shines on their upper body, while the lower part of their waist and abdomen is hidden a dark shadow.
As soon as the two posters with different styles were released, fans immediately exploded.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! [picture]”
“Reply: I’m already dead! The official poster forced me to die!!! [crying]”
“Reply: Looking at the atmosphere of the poster, I don’t think they fall in love with each other! Wow, this setting really gets to me! How will I live these months! [heartbreak]”
“Sisters! I’ve already made up a 300,000-word drama for LongDao after looking at the poster! Do you think this movie will have a real kiss scene? Ahhh, I’m looking forward to it! I want to time travel to three months later!!!”
“Reply: Looking at the poster, I suspect there’s not only the kiss scene, but also a boat scene [doge]”
“Reply: Sisters, be brave. Buy a set of W drama and C drama, which comes with a gift of a fake love story that lasts for a hundred years and two hugs for three years! [Spread flowers]”
“Reply: I want to see!!!”
“Reply: Can I be lucky enough to ask a madam to make a painting? [Tears]”
The fans celebration wasn’t over yet when on April 30th, Chu Yinlong and Jiang Dao posted a blog at the same time, releasing their respective promotional Vlogs for “Dawn City”, plus a small interview with three questions.
The three questions in the interview were, “What do you want to say to the director?”, “What do you want to say to your partner?”, and “What do you want to say to your fans?”
Of course, the answers were copywritten carefully for the public to not be too explicit, and leaves space for people’s imagination. Both of them thanked the director and fans, but when they got to each other, in addition to thanks, they also mentioned the word “lucky”.
Fans are very keen, they grasped the word “lucky” instantly, searched for citations, dug deep, and turned up all videos and pictures of Chu Yinlong and Jiang Dao in the same frame. Even their Weibo posts were analyzed with the rigorous attitude of writing a thesis –
% probability of being in love, % probability of friendship, and % of respecting each other.
Seeing this small paper, Jiang Dao couldn’t help laughing, and passed the phone over to Chu Yinlong to read.
Chu Yinlong said: “After analyzing so much, the conclusion is still wrong.”
“What’s wrong? We’re not in love?” Jiang Dao blinked.
“We’re already an old couple…” Chu Yinlong smiled.
Jiang Dao disagreed: “What old couple! There’s no certificate yet, aren’t we still dating?”
After a moment of silence, Chu Yinlong asked, “Do you want to get a certificate?”
“Teacher Chu, you didn’t propose like this. Although I don’t care for a sense of ceremony, you can’t be too casual. If you don’t have a proposal ring, there should be a big meal at least?”
Chu Yinlong looked at Jiang Dao for a long time, and then earnestly said: “Okay.”
Hearing his solemn answer, Jiang Dao suddenly felt a little flustered. After being silent for a while, he whispered: “Give me a little more time. Marriage… I…”
Jiang Dao was unable to finish the sentence. He pursed his lower lip and sighed. “…I’m sorry.”
Chu Yinlong said: “It’s okay, I can understand.”
After a pause, he added: “I can wait.”
“Don’t get me wrong.” Jiang Dao stared into Chu Yinlong’s eyes. “I just… you believe me, It’s not… that I don’t love you.”
“I know.” Chu Yinlong smiled. “Of course I know it’s not that you don’t love me. You’re still young, only twenty years old. Marriage is indeed a little scary for you. I’ve been in my twenties too, so I can understand your thoughts.”
Jiang Dao’s lips moved slightly , but did not deny it.
It’s not that he doesn’t want to marry Chu Yinlong because he is young, nor is he unwilling to be restrained. He’s just a little worried about his own future – he isn’t from this world after all.
Moreover, the plot in the original book has come to an end now.
When Tang Yao and Zhou Wei held that grand wedding for all to see, this book will end with everyone’s blessings to them.
While Jiang Dao can be sure the world shouldn’t fall apart after the story ends, he still can’t help worrying whether he would be exiled by the world at the end of the story, or die silently…
Of course, he wouldn’t be pretentious to distance himself from things that haven’t happened yet. But because of this, he doesn’t want to put a shackle called marriage on Chu Yinlong before the dust settles.
If the two don’t marry, even if they make their relationship public, if he disappears in the future, it will just be another entertainment circle love that ends without a problem.
At least, Chu Yinlong will be free from beginning to end.
Seeing that Jiang Dao’s face was not very good, Chu Yinlong reached out to bring him into his arms.
“Don’t think so much, I don’t blame you.” He sighed. “Remember, in love, we are equal. You are my lover, not my property. You have the right to put forward your ideas and the right to reject my ideas and requests. You don’t have to blame yourself for not meeting my expectations.”
Jiang Dao looked at Chu Yinlong and suddenly smiled.
“Although I’m not ready to marry you, but…” He wrapped his arms around Chu Yinlong’s neck and lightly bit the man’s mouth. “…activities between couples are still there, and the more the better.”
Jiang Dao understands that his indulging in a close relationship with Chu Yinlong stems from his worries about the future. Because he doesn’t know where the future will lead, he wants to seize every opportunity to have fun while possible. This apocalyptic style is also very suitable for his current situation.
…
Filming of “Ghost Bottle” progressed steadily in May.
Although shooting fight scenes and action scenes is time-consuming, Chu Yinlong’s team is very familiar with the process. In addition, Jiang Dao is obviously more familiar with fight scenes, so filming actually progressed more smoothly than the literary drama
In the beginning of June, the team came to the rented indoor ski resort and started the close-ups of the final action scene.
The first few times were normal close-ups. The two walked down the intermediate slopes and passed the camera buried in the snow as required, or used the blade of the snowboard to kick up snow dust and pounce on the machine set up next to the snow track.
After that, the two stepped on the guide rails and slid down in synchronization with the camera for close-ups of their faces.
In the end, Chu Yinlong added a scene to Jiang Dao – when he was on the snowy mountain, Jiang Dao accidentally got stuck and fell. After seeing the shot, he decided not to cut it, but added a scene where the character fell down, was embarrassed, but still tried to maintain his elegance.
Of course, the reason for the fall changed from a jammed board to an enemy attack, and a few close-ups were added.
The shot of wrestling and rolling in the snow was shot under strict protection, and the gentlest slope was selected. There was no starting speed, and the crew manufactured a sense of danger with the angle of the camera.
But even so, Chu Yinlong warned several times: “Be careful and slow down when turning over.”
Jiang Dao smiled and gestured towards him: “Don’t worry.”
His whole person suddenly plunged into the snow horizontally, rolled all the way down the slope, finally regained his balance, and stood up again.
Then he raised his hand and wiped his face, squeezed the tie clip, habitually straightened the collar of his suit, smoothed his shirt, raised his chin, and pretended that nothing happened.
In the final film, this shot will only be a few seconds.
But just these few seconds can make Jiang Dao’s role more interesting. It seemed that there was something more complex about this upper class playboy.
…
On June 15, filming of “Ghost Face Bottle” was officially finished.
At the banquet a week later, Jiang Dao stood beside Chu Yinlong in a suit, with an elegant and decent smile on his face. His temperament could perfectly fit into the atmosphere of the scene, and his gestures no longer seemed out of tune with this event.
Chu Yinlong looked at Jiang Dao who was standing in the field taking photos generously, and suddenly he had the old father mentality of “my family’s child has grown up”, feeling gratified for Jiang Dao’s growth from the bottom of his heart.
This young man who was thinking about quitting the entertainment industry two years ago in exchange for freedom is now able to do his job with ease, while glowing.
