BNR Chapter 13

Make up lessons

The mid-term exams are approaching quickly, and the atmosphere in the school has become tense. The usually lively Class Three is unusually quiet today, with everyone earnestly reviewing. However, in the back row of the classroom, some students are lying there sleeping as if they have an endless nap ahead.

Mu Qi is also sleeping, leaning against the wall with her hand supporting her cheek.

Su Yanxi gently pokes her with her finger.

Mu Qi opens her eyes slightly, lazily looking at her.

Seeing Mu Qi in this state makes Su Yanxi blush. She hands her own notebook to Mu Qi and says, “The exam is tomorrow, and these are the notes I’ve taken. Take a look.”

Mu Qi’s gaze moves from her to the notebook, looking at the elegant handwriting and clear notes. Her gaze pauses for a moment, then shifts back to the girl. She furrows her brow slightly and asks casually, “Why are you helping me like this?”

The students in the class, upon seeing Mu Qi, keep their distance and look at her with disdain. After all, in this school where emphasis is placed on learning, no matter how pretty you are, people won’t like you for long.

Su Yanxi, the new transfer student, initially seemed to recognize Mu Qi when she first saw her. Even when she treated Mu Qi with cold eyes, the latter always responded with a smile.

Mu Qi couldn’t find any benefit for herself that would make Su Yanxi repeatedly be so kind to her.

Su Yanxi smiles and says, “Because I like you!”

Mu Qi twitches her eyes at the seemingly innocent gaze, thinking Su Yanxi is joking, so she doesn’t take it to heart. She takes the notebook and glances at her, saying, “Thanks.”

Watching Mu Qi focus on reading the notes, Su Yanxi furrows her brows slightly. She senses that Mu Qi has something on her mind but doesn’t know what it is.

In the brief moment, she noticed a self-deprecating smile on Mu Qi’s lips and wondered about the reason.

Thinking about how Hu Ying and Mu Qi have known each other for a long time, Su Yanxi’s gaze shifts to the last pair in the second group, where Hu Ying is chatting with her desk mate. As if sensing Su Yanxi’s gaze, Hu Ying looks over.

Su Yanxi smiles at her and then averts her gaze.

Hu Ying blinks in confusion, unsure of the meaning behind the adorable girl’s gaze.

Until after class, when the other person pulled her to a corner of the stairs, she was a bit confused.

Last time, Su Yanxi wanted to ask Hu Ying about Mu Qi’s family, but she didn’t say anything, and Mu Qi didn’t seem to want to tell her.

Today, Mu Qi’s demeanor made her a bit worried, and at the same time, she wondered if Mu Qi was worried about something related to her family.

After listening to Su Yanxi’s words, Hu Ying remained silent for a moment before slowly saying, “I told you last time that Seven’s parents got divorced two years ago.”

Su Yanxi nodded, remembering that Hu Ying had indeed mentioned it.

Leaning against the stair railing, Hu Ying looked in the direction of the playground, a hint of a smile on her lips. “I met Seven in elementary school. At that time, he wasn’t called Seven yet. He had excellent grades, always ranking first in the whole grade. Every time the school held a year-end assembly, they would praise him, and every time the teachers would let him give a speech on stage.”

Su Yanxi couldn’t imagine that Mu Qi, who always ranked at the bottom academically, was once so outstanding.

Hu Ying didn’t see Su Yanxi’s expression and continued, “At that time, the whole class, even the entire grade, envied her. I was also among them.” She laughed and continued, “But my grades were the same as they are now, at the bottom. I naturally had no intersection with the dazzling Seven, until that time when I accidentally saw a different side of Seven.”

“How was she different?” Su Yanxi asked curiously. In her impression, Mu Qi was a bit like a little adult, even though she hadn’t known her for long.

“She would fight with other kids and play pranks,” Hu Ying said with a smile.

Su Yanxi couldn’t believe it. Mu Qi fought with others in elementary school?

Seeing her expression, Hu Ying knew what she was thinking. She laughed and said, “Later, I got to know her accidentally and found out that although she appeared to be a well-behaved child liked by teachers and parents, behind that, she was a girl with a strong personality.”

The other person had successfully deceived her. Thinking about this, Su Yanxi curved her lips, her eyes sparkling, and she couldn’t wait to ask, “What happened later? What happened next?”

Hu Ying continued, “Later, we became friends. It wasn’t until junior high that I found out her dad is the CEO of an entertainment group, and her mom is a celebrity.”

Upon hearing Mu Qi’s parents’ identities, Su Yanxi blinked in astonishment. Suddenly, in her childhood memories, she recalled the beautiful aunt she had seen, and when compared to the stars on the screen now, she realized that the beautiful aunt was actually a celebrity.

At this point, Hu Ying furrowed her brows and said, “But when she was about to graduate from junior high, her parents divorced. Her grades plummeted. With her grades, she could have gone to City High School, but due to her parents’ divorce, she had to come to this school.”

“No one in the school knows what her parents do. All they know is that her parents divorced, leaving her alone here,” Hu Ying sighed. “And the origin of the nickname ‘Seven’ comes from when she was a freshman. Those delinquents outside gave her that title.”

After all, when it came to toughness, no one surpassed Mu Qi.

Initially, in high school, Mu Qi just wanted to keep a low profile, but those troublemakers wouldn’t leave her alone. After school, the two of them were cornered.

Hu Ying wasn’t strong enough, and in a few moves, she was beaten down, bleeding from her head. Seeing this, Mu Qi immediately ruthlessly took down the group of people and then took Hu Ying to the hospital.

Since then, those troublemakers didn’t dare to provoke her, even calling her ‘Seven’ behind her back.

And from then on, Hu Ying started calling Mu Qi ‘Seven’ as well.

When Su Yanxi and Hu Ying returned to the classroom together and sat down, Mu Qi frowned at them. “What were you two doing outside?”

Going out together and coming back together must mean they did something.

Su Yanxi grabbed her hand, looking extremely serious. “Mu Qi, I’ll help you with your studies!”

Mu Qi: “?! ”

“No need.” Just forcing her to copy homework was already irritating enough. Now, she wanted to help her with her studies?!

Mu Qi used the back of her hand to check the girl’s forehead, wondering if she had a fever again.

Su Yanxi blinked, looking at her with determination.
