I’m not sure what Qi Wei and her girlfriend said, but when Mu Qi heard about her again, she had already gone abroad for studies. For Mu Qi, this was good news.
However, at this moment, Mu Qi was unaware of this. After dealing with Qin Yu’s affairs in the afternoon, she went to find Su Yanxi because she had promised to watch a movie with her.
Su Yanxi’s parents had gone to the countryside to visit her grandmother today, leaving only Su Yanxi at home. When Mu Qi knocked on the door, she happily ran over to open it, revealing a radiant smile. “Mu Qi, come in quickly.”
Mu Qi immediately noticed that Su Yanxi was wearing a pink apron with lace on it. There was a cute little dog printed on the front, making her look like a virtuous little wife. Mu Qi couldn’t help but pat her head.
Su Yanxi placed the slippers she had prepared for Mu Qi in front of her and then went to the kitchen, loudly saying, “Once I finish one more dish, we can eat.”

The slippers were obviously for a girl, pink with a white kitten on them. When she moved her foot, the little kitten moved too, very cute.
After putting on the slippers, she went to the kitchen. Su Yanxi was earnestly stir-frying the dishes. When she saw Mu Qi, she smiled at her and said, “I’m not very good at cooking.”
Mu Qi walked over, stood next to her, and saw that there were already two well-cooked dishes on the counter. They looked appetizing, and she said with a smile, “They look delicious.”
Su Yanxi was pleased to hear Mu Qi’s praise, although she was still a bit worried that the other person might not like the food she cooked. In a short while, the two dishes and a soup were served. Su Yanxi served the rice, and Mu Qi brought the two bowls out. They sat face to face and started to eat.
Su Yanxi anxiously and expectantly looked at Mu Qi. Mu Qi picked up a piece of shredded pork with green peppers, put it in her mouth, chewed twice, and then smiled and nodded, saying, “It’s delicious.”
Hearing her praise, Su Yanxi immediately breathed a sigh of relief and happily started eating.
Su Yanxi served Mu Qi a bowl of soup and placed it in front of her, saying, “Have some soup.”
“Okay,” Mu Qi nodded, smiling. “You should eat too.”
In the living room, there were only the sounds of the two of them eating and the ticking of the clock on the wall. The rest was quiet.
At this moment, it was peaceful and warm for them.
After finishing their meal, Mu Qi took the initiative to wash the dishes. Faced with the girl’s troubled expression, she smiled and said, “You cooked, and I’ll wash the dishes. Otherwise, you’ll be both cooking and washing dishes, too tiring.”
“It’s not tiring at all.” Su Yanxi handed her a tissue to wipe her hands, then walked out of the kitchen, saying, “Let me take you to my room.”
It was only noon, and the movie they wanted to watch was at three in the afternoon, so going now was a bit early.
They decided to take a nap first before heading out.
In Su Yanxi’s room, there was a small single bed with a pink and tender quilt adorned with small flowers. It looked beautiful. Next to the bed was a desk with a few books, a desk lamp, and a photo frame.
Initially, Mu Qi didn’t pay much attention, but when she saw a photo of herself as a child in the frame, she was stunned. She walked over, picked up the frame, and carefully looked at a picture of a little girl.
It was indeed her childhood appearance.
However, she had no memory of this scene – the one where she hugged the girl with two braids next to her, both happily smiling, with a radiant smile on their faces, clearly indicating they were good friends.
Su Yanxi closely observed Mu Qi’s profile, hoping to see if she would remember. However, Mu Qi’s vacant gaze dimmed her hopeful expression.

“I transferred to this school last year because I happened to see you wearing the uniform of Desheng High School. So I asked my mom to transfer me to the same class as you.”
It was only now that Mu Qi realized why the girl had looked at her with such eyes the first day they met. The girl had known her for a long time, and she even transferred schools because of Mu Qi.
She tried hard to recall and had some impressions, but the most prominent scenes in her mind were of the girl crying and shouting, running after her. Gradually, she immersed herself in the memories, and Su Yanxi didn’t disturb her.
Climbing trees together, flying kites together, playing hide and seek together, lying on a small bed hugging each other—although there were only a few scenes, Mu Qi sensed the happiness she felt at that time.
The initial scene of the girl crying and shouting while running after her was when she and her mother left. The girl didn’t want her to go and kept shouting for her to remember her.

Because of this unexpected revelation, the two didn’t take a nap. They sat at the desk, and Mu Qi listened to Su Yanxi talk about childhood anecdotes. Unconsciously, it was already past two o’clock, and they suddenly remembered they had a movie to catch.
