BNR Chapter 7

Disco

Muqi and Hu Ying, navigating through several twists and turns, finally arrived at the entrance of the nightclub. There were two or three little hooligans with dyed yellow hair at the entrance, wearing ear studs and imitating the tattoos of those big shots in society, featuring tiger and leopard patterns.

Muqi and Hu Ying were also well-known in this area, being skilled in fighting. Therefore, when the three little hooligans saw them, they glanced for a while until they entered, and only then did they withdraw their gaze.

Suyan Ye stood at the corner, looking at the nightclub entrance, hesitating whether to go in or not, considering the bustling crowd.

“Seven!” A staff member named Xiaoma spotted them from a distance and quickly greeted them.

Everyone knew that Muqi had an awesome dad, and combined with her reputation for being a fierce fighter in the area, she naturally received some respect. Moreover, she had once saved the nightclub owner’s wife, making her the savior of the nightclub owner.

“Bring us two glasses of fruit juice.” Muqi, carrying her backpack, sat in the corner booth.

Ordering fruit juice every time was something the staff, including Xiaoma, had already gotten used to. Without saying a word, Xiaoma greeted people along the way and went to the counter to place the order.

By now, the dance floor below was already crowded with a group of young people, bodies close to each other. Amidst the pounding music and enchanting lights, everyone swayed to their own rhythm.

“Seven, I’m going downstairs first,” Hu Ying couldn’t resist standing up and said.

“Yeah,” Muqi leaned back on the sofa, legs crossed, a cigarette dangling from her mouth, quietly watching the dance floor.

Beautiful girls, carrying a hint of coolness, naturally attracted attention in this scene. Therefore, there were people approaching to strike up a conversation.

“Little Seven, come over!” The nightclub owner, who had been in the backstage lounge, heard from Xiaoma that Muqi had arrived. She immediately twisted her delicate waist, holding a glass of red wine, and walked over, sitting next to Muqi on the sofa armrest.

“Red Sister,” Muqi took the cigarette out of her mouth, tossed it into the ashtray on the table, and took the red wine glass handed over by the nightclub owner.

“It’s been a long time since you last came. Don’t you miss me?” Red Sister slightly lowered her body. Wearing a V-neck, due to this movement, a small piece of fair skin was exposed.

Muqi shifted her gaze, took a sip of red wine, and said, “I’ve been a bit busy with my studies lately.”

Red Sister chuckled lowly, exuding charm and sensuality. Although she knew she had failed once again to seduce this young girl, she didn’t mind and continued sitting beside her. Her hand rested on the back of Muqi’s chair as she looked at the dance floor, saying, “You’re in the second year of high school this year, going to the third year next year. Does that mean you’ll be coming here less often?”

Muqi then shifted her gaze to her, smiling, “If I have time, I’ll still come to see Red Sister.”

Red Sister playfully tapped her on the nose and said, “You’ve got a sweet mouth.”

Since the last time Red Sister blocked her in front of the restroom door, attempting to kiss her, Muqi realized that every time Red Sister teased her, it wasn’t just playful; it was because she genuinely liked her. Since then, Muqi rarely came here, but this time, due to her parents’ issues, she came with frustration.

However, now that she was here, she was starting to regret it a little.

Even though she had been planning something in her mind before coming, upon arrival, she abandoned that plan.

Using news about herself sleeping with a woman to ‘retaliate’ against her parents felt childish and exceedingly immature.

“Red Sister, there’s trouble at the entrance,” Xiaoma came over at this moment and said.

Red Sister raised an eyebrow and looked at him, saying, “Deal with the trouble and throw them out. Why should I say it?”

Xiaoma, looking a bit embarrassed, glanced at Muqi and then said to Red Sister, “But that girl at the entrance claims to be Seven’s girlfriend.”

Red Sister arched her eyebrows, and Muqi looked surprised.

Both of them went to the entrance together and heard crying as they approached.

Pushing through the crowd, Muqi took a glance and saw Suyan Ye, wearing a school uniform, crying with a sad face. Muqi’s face immediately turned black.

Seeing her expression, Red Sister curved her red lips and asked, “Do you know her?”

“Muqi!” As soon as Suyan Ye saw Muqi, she rushed over, hugging her and looking at the few yellow-haired hooligans with fear.

“Seven, is this really your girlfriend?” one of the hooligans asked.

Muqi pulled Suyan Ye by the collar, lifting her from her embrace. She glanced at her and the latter immediately stood still, not daring to move.

Muqi said, “She’s my friend. Sorry.”

“Since she’s Seven’s friend, we won’t interfere. Let’s go,” one of the hooligans said, signaling his buddies to leave.

Seeing the onlookers dispersing, only three people were left in front of the originally crowded entrance.

Red Sister carefully examined Suyan Ye from head to toe, sensing the innocence and purity emanating from her. She subtly furrowed her brows, then took out a cigarette from her pocket, put it in her mouth, and looked at Muqi.

Muqi promptly took out a lighter and lit the cigarette for her.

Suyan Ye sneakily lifted her head and saw the close proximity between the two. She tightly gripped her book bag, biting her lower lip.

“I’ll wait for you inside.” Red Sister glanced at them, then raised her hand, patting Muqi’s shoulder before entering the nightclub.

With only the two of them left in front of the entrance, Muqi leaned against the wall, leisurely looking at Suyan Ye and asked, “Are you following us?”

Images of Muqi being close to that sensual woman flashed in Suyan Ye’s mind. She bit her lip, not uttering a word.

Just moments ago, she had been crying, and her eyes were still red and teary. Muqi, who was about to say something nasty, sighed instead, turned around, and said, “Come in.”

She estimated that even if she drove the girl away now, she probably wouldn’t leave. Judging by her crying and claiming to be Muqi’s girlfriend, she knew this girl had set her sights on them.

Huo Ying had just finished a dance and was about to sit on the sofa when she saw Muqi returning with a school-uniformed, obedient girl. The lights illuminated the girl, and Huo Ying looked surprised, saying, “Cutie? Why are you here?”

Suyan Ye still dared not speak at this moment. After glancing at Muqi, who stood in front of her, she lowered her head again, portraying a cute and well-behaved appearance.

“Bring her a glass of milk.” Muqi, sitting in the booth, told Huo Ying.

“Okay.” Huo Ying immediately stood up from the sofa, squeezed Suyan Ye’s eyes, and ran off.

Suyan Ye had never been here before. Just before coming in, due to Muqi’s pressure, she dared not lift her head to look around. Now that she sat down, she finally glanced around.

The sight was surrounded by darkness, with only a circle of small ceiling lights around the walls and multicolored light beams shooting in random directions from the center of the dance floor. The central sphere kept spinning, and the colorful beams made the entire dance floor look dazzling. Coupled with the occasional spray of smoke, Suyan Ye was fascinated.

“Do you want to go up and dance?” Huo Ying came back at this moment, placing the milk in front of her, and looking towards the dance floor.

Suyan Ye retracted her gaze and shook her head upon hearing Huo Ying’s words.

Sitting beside her, Huo Ying said, “What are you afraid of? If you don’t know how, I can teach you.”

Suyan Ye waved her hand and smiled, “I won’t dance. I’ll just sit here.”

Huo Ying, sounding bored, clicked her tongue and said, “Neither of you is dancing. It’s boring for me to dance alone.” The two she referred to naturally included Muqi.

Every time Muqi came, she just sat here, smoked a cigarette, and watched others dance in the dance floor. She never set foot in the dance floor. If it weren’t for seeing Muqi dance once before and dance well, Huo Ying would have really doubted her own dancing skills and wouldn’t want to dance.

“Are you going to teach Mushroom to dance? Go ahead,” Muqi told her.

Huo Ying snorted and said, “There are so many people here. Where can I find her?”

Muqi raised her chin and said, “I see her. Over there, go ahead.”

Huo Ying turned around, following Muqi’s gaze, and indeed saw her and her friends sitting in the corner booth, just across a dance floor.

Qiyi, on the opposite side, also saw them.

Huo Ying stood up, full of smiles, and said, “Then I’ll go over.”

That sly expression made Muqi glance at her lips.

Suyan Ye curiously looked around and found that she didn’t recognize the person they called “Mushroom.”

“From the school across the street,” Muqi replied in a good mood.

Suyan Ye blinked, looked at her, and then glanced over there.

She only saw Huo Ying walking over, saying something to the girl with mushroom-like hair. Immediately, the girl’s expression turned angry, and she raised her middle finger at Huo Ying, then confidently walked towards the center of the dance floor.

Muqi also watched and smiled.

Qiyi couldn’t resist provocation and easily fell into the trap.

Huo Ying had followed Muqi for so many years and had already learned the skill of retorting. Dealing with someone like Qiyi was no challenge. With just a few words, she hooked the other party.

Watching Huo Ying provocatively dance in the dance floor while looking at Qiyi, Muqi chuckled.

Suyan Ye’s gaze shifted from Huo Ying and her friends to Muqi.

Muqi rarely smiled, and at this moment, perhaps it was the most relaxed she had been. Her face not only lost its irritability but also carried a continuous smile.

Suyan Ye felt happy seeing Muqi’s smile, but knowing that it wasn’t because of her, she couldn’t help feeling a bit jealous. Holding the glass of milk, she sipped it slowly, occasionally blowing a few small milk bubbles to vent her jealousy.

Muqi looked at her and said she looked like a child.

Suyan Ye ignored her, continued blowing her little milk bubbles, and drank her milk.
