APWTBC Chapter 105

Shen Tiantian often felt that marrying Shan Yi was the luckiest thing in her life. Shan Yi gave her the best home and fulfilled all her beautiful fantasies.

On New Year’s Day, a light drizzle began to fall. The TV at home was playing New Year commercials, almost all related to the holiday. The sounds of fireworks and firecrackers came from the TV as Shen Tiantian held the baby, humming a lullaby while watching her wife put up New Year decorations.

The household servants had gone home for the holiday, leaving only the maternity nurse sent by the postpartum center. Shan Xu had gone to her boyfriend’s house, and Shan Yue had brought Tian Jing back home.

Tian Jing’s belly, almost five months pregnant, showed a noticeable curve. Without needing to say much, it was clear what their relationship was. However, Shen Tiantian was a bit surprised when she saw the child at Tian Jing’s feet.

It was her first time seeing Tian Jing’s daughter. Seeing Tiantian, she could only marvel at the strong genes of the Shan family. The little girl looked like she had been stamped out of the same mold as Shan Yue.

Unlike Shen Tiantian, the two elders in the family didn’t know about Tiantian before this, and they were momentarily stunned, not knowing what to think.

Mother Shan recognized Tian Jing. She was the one who came over on the day Shan Yue went into heat, and they had stayed in the house for a whole day. For someone in heat, what they did inside was obvious.

Her gaze fell on Tian Jing’s belly, indicating it must have happened that day. Their species, once in heat, had a high likelihood of pregnancy, and without birth control, it was almost certain.

Tian Jing knew Mother Shan was scrutinizing her. She nervously grabbed the sides of her skirt and forced a smile.

She could handle guests with ease, but facing Shan Yue’s family always made her nervous. The thought of coming here as a girlfriend made her feel suffocated with anxiety.

Not only was she pregnant, but she also had a three-year-old child with her. She didn’t know what they would think of her.

“Auntie, your house is so big…” Tiantian’s childish voice broke the tense atmosphere, “It’s bigger than our house!”

Father Shan looked at Shan Yue with a puzzled expression, signaling her to explain.

“Brother, sister-in-law. This is my girlfriend, and we plan to get married soon.” Shan Yue cleared her throat, picked up the child beside Tian Jing, and said, “This is Xiao Jing’s daughter, and she’s also my daughter, biologically.”

Mother Shan: …..

Father Shan’s anger flared up upon hearing this, but he glanced at Tian Jing and suppressed it, replacing it with a silent smile.

“Happy New Year, Chairman, Madam,” Tian Jing greeted.

The atmosphere instantly turned icy.

Shan Yi’s parents: …..

Shen Tiantian found the situation amusing. She handed the baby to the postpartum center staff and walked over to joke, “Dad, you’re scaring Manager Tian.”

Father Shan: …

Shen Tiantian continued, “Manager Tian, we’re not at the company now, no need to be so formal.”

Tian Jing couldn’t help but mutter inwardly that Shen Tiantian shouldn’t call her Manager Tian then. But she really didn’t know how to address them. Calling them brother-in-law and sister-in-law felt awkward, and calling them uncle and aunt seemed disrespectful given their relationship with Shan Yue. So, she ended up defaulting to Chairman and Madam.

Shan Yue picked up Tiantian and said, “Tiantian, be good and call them uncle and aunt.”

Tiantian looked at Father Shan in a daze for a while before softly calling out, “Hello, Uncle and Auntie~”

As soon as the little girl’s voice rang out, the atmosphere suddenly became lively again. Mother Shan’s heart melted at being called Auntie, and she couldn’t help but feel delighted at the thought of her future granddaughter calling her grandma in the same sweet voice.

Mother Shan beamed with joy as she praised the child for a while before realizing something was amiss. “You said Tiantian is also your daughter?”

Shan Yue glanced at Tian Jing and nodded. “I’ll explain it to you later.”

Mother Shan looked at Tiantian again, seeing more and more resemblance to Shan Yue when she was a child. She decided not to ask further questions. Today was a happy day, and she didn’t want to spoil the mood. Plus, Tian Jing coming home with Shan Yue showed they already had a plan for their future.

Shan Yue sat Tiantian on the couch, peeled a blackcurrant, and offered it to her. Tiantian reached out to take it, but Shan Yue insisted, “Auntie will feed you.”

Tian Jing hadn’t yet told her daughter about their situation. Shan Yue hoped her daughter would soon start calling her “Mommy,” but she also knew it couldn’t be rushed. Having been absent for years and suddenly returning to claim to be her other mother, even a young child might not accept it right away. Moreover, she respected Tian Jing’s decision.

Tiantian giggled, opening her mouth wide, “Ah ah ah~”

Watching from the side, Tian Jing’s lips curled into a slight smile. Her gaze met Shan Yue’s, and after a long while, she felt a resolve forming in her heart.

Having finished putting up the decorations, Shan Yi clapped her hands, took her daughter from the nurse, and told her she didn’t need to come for the next few days. She looked at Shan Yue, who returned the glance and smiled, “How does it feel to take care of the baby?”

“It’s alright,” Shan Yi replied calmly.

“How do you want to celebrate Hanhan’s one-month birthday?”

Hearing this, Shen Tiantian also looked at Shan Yi. Their daughter would be one month old in a few days, and she didn’t know how the Shan family celebrated such occasions.

Shan Yi said, “We’ll just have a family meal at home.”

“Will our cousin come?”

Shan Yi’s expression tensed, recalling the unpleasantness of the last family gathering. Without thinking, she said, “No, just you all.”

Shan Yue understood and nodded.

“What are you all talking about? Come help; lunch is almost ready,” Mother Shan called from the kitchen, her voice just loud enough to be heard over the TV’s firecracker sounds, which paused momentarily before another commercial played.

Shen Tiantian was still in confinement, and Shan Yi didn’t let her do any heavy work. Upon hearing her mother’s call, she quickly handed the baby to Shen Tiantian before disappearing into the kitchen.

Tian Jing laughed, “The once cool and collected CEO has become much more warm-hearted as a mother.”

Shen Tiantian: …

She wanted to defend her wife. When had she ever been cold and unfeeling?

“I’m just kidding,” Tian Jing said, rubbing her belly. “But she really has changed; it just feels different.”

Shen Tiantian pouted and glanced at the kitchen. “People with families do change a bit.”

She paused, then looked at Shan Yue, who was playing with Tiantian, and asked, “What about you and auntie…?”

The TV’s volume was loud, almost drowning out the conversation in the living room. Shan Yue, focused on Tiantian, didn’t notice their discussion.

“What do you think?” Tian Jing responded.

“When do you plan to get married?” Shen Tiantian asked.

Tian Jing was silent for a moment before saying, “Depends on her performance.”

“Alright.” Their situation was too complicated, making her head hurt. She didn’t want to pry further.

As if dissatisfied with her mother’s divided attention, Hanhan kicked her legs and smacked her lips.

Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but smile. She gently poked her daughter’s cheek. The little one blinked innocently and then put her thumb in her mouth.

“Don’t eat your fingers, how many times have I told you?” Shen Tiantian gently removed her daughter’s hand. Even though she knew her daughter didn’t understand, she couldn’t help but say it.

Shan Yi happened to come out of the kitchen just then and heard her wife’s ‘scolding’. She chuckled, “She’s still young, she doesn’t understand yet.”

Shen Tiantian: …

Before their daughter was born, she thought that with Shan Yi’s personality, she would be the strict mother. To her surprise, Shan Yi was more doting on their daughter than anyone else, which was a pleasant but unexpected revelation.

“Everyone, take your seats,” Mother Shan said as she came out, then turned to Shen Tiantian, “Give me the baby, you go eat first.”

Shen Tiantian replied, “No need, Hanhan just ate not long ago. Let her play in the stroller for a while.”

Mother Shan didn’t say more and everyone quickly took their seats.

Tiantian sat between Shan Yue and Tian Jing. Shan Yue was busy taking care of both the child and the pregnant Tian Jing, making her quite occupied throughout dinner.

The atmosphere at the table was relaxed as everyone discussed their plans for the new year. Gradually, Tian Jing also felt less restrained and quietly ate the food Shan Yue placed on her plate.

After dinner, Shan Xu returned with her boyfriend. Mother Shan sighed, “It’s rare for everyone to be here. Shall we take a family photo?”

Shen Tiantian looked forward to it, “Yes, let’s do it.”

Tian Jing felt a bit nervous, but she had already decided in her heart to be with Shan Yue. Even though she hadn’t accepted Shan Yue’s marriage proposal yet, they already had two daughters together. Taking a family photo didn’t seem like too much.

Shen Tiantian asked Shan Yi to get the camera and set it for a timed photo. After taking the picture, Shan Yi uploaded it to the computer and printed a copy for everyone.

Looking at the first family photo, Shen Tiantian smiled and turned to Father Shan, asking, “Dad, can I post this on my Moments?”

Holding his granddaughter, Father Shan was taken aback. He suddenly remembered that Shen Tiantian used to be a company employee and that some of her former colleagues might see the post. He chuckled, “Who in the company doesn’t know you’re part of our Shan family now?”

Shen Tiantian blushed slightly.

Their wedding hadn’t been grand, but the Shan family was a prominent name in City A, and many distinguished guests had attended. They had even made it into the business news on their wedding day. Additionally, Shan Yi’s firing of Li Siying for Shen Tiantian’s sake had long since spread throughout the company, solidifying her identity.

With Father Shan’s permission, Shen Tiantian immediately posted the photo on her Moments, captioning it with “Happy New Year.”

In no time, she received eight likes. Lin Wanjun and Kang Jiaya liked it almost simultaneously, along with Lu Xiaochun and Tian Jing, and the rest were from classmates she didn’t often contact.

Shan Yue also posted the photo, and Shen Tiantian promptly liked it.

“Spring Festival Gala is starting,” Mother Shan called out.

At the same time, the little one suddenly started crying loudly, drawing everyone’s attention.

Before Shen Tiantian could get up, Shan Yi quickly walked over and picked up Hanhan, soothing her softly with a tender expression.

“Baby is crying…” Tiantian was startled by Hanhan’s crying and turned her dark eyes, saying, “Not good~”

Shan Yue found it amusing, “That’s your little niece. She’s still young. Go and comfort her.”

Tiantian pouted and cautiously approached.

Holding the baby, Shan Yi quickly calmed her down. She glanced at Tiantian and, smiling, adjusted her position so Tiantian could see the baby.

The baby’s skin was fair, and her eyes were slightly swollen from crying. Tiantian gently touched Hanhan’s cheek with her small hand, “Little sister~”

Shan Yi smiled and corrected, “She’s your little niece.”

Tiantian: “Little sister…”

Tiantian, being only about three years old, couldn’t distinguish between niece and sister, so Shan Yi didn’t correct her further. Hanhan, who rarely saw strangers, stared at Tiantian with her round black eyes. Her little mouth moved slightly, as if saying hello.

Tiantian smiled, looked at Shan Yi carefully, then lowered her head to continue watching her “sister”. After a moment, she clumsily leaned in and gave Hanhan a kiss.

The adults couldn’t help but smile at each other when they saw this.

Having a little one at home is like having a treasure, and they had two, with a third on the way. However, Hanhan, in her innocence, was momentarily stunned and then started crying loudly.

Shan Yi: …..

Truly, a little troublemaker.

Tiantian stood there, helpless, her face downcast.

Shan Yue picked her up and asked softly, “Is your sister cute?”

“Cute~”

“Your mom will have another baby soon, are you happy?”

Tiantian didn’t reply.

“It’s New Year’s, don’t ask such questions,” Tian Jing said helplessly.

“Alright then,” Shan Yue responded, wrapping an arm around the pregnant Tian Jing’s shoulders, backing down with a smile.
