APWTBC Chapter 88

After her shower, Shen Tiantian nestled into Shan Yi’s arms, playing with her hair. “Do you think Auntie can handle Manager Tian?” she asked softly.

Shan Yi responded with a question, “What do you think?”

“I don’t know.”

“Do you think Manager Tian is that easy to handle?” Shan Yi chuckled.

Shen Tiantian thought for a moment and then pouted, “No, she doesn’t seem like it.”

“Exactly.”

Shen Tiantian: …Alright.

With a click, Shan Yi turned off the bedside lamp and dominantly wrapped her arm around Shen Tiantian’s waist, pulling her closer. “It’s past eleven. Time to sleep.”

Shen Tiantian murmured a soft “mm,” feeling a bit tired as she had woken up early that day despite having slept in most days until noon. Mother Shan didn’t wake her up either. Finding a comfortable position, Shen Tiantian nuzzled Shan Yi’s chin like a kitten. “Good night.”

Shan Yi kissed her smooth forehead and whispered, “Good night.”

As gentle breathing filled the room, Shan Yi got up and opened her laptop, planning to finish some work. She didn’t intend to go to the office tomorrow, wanting to accompany her wife to a yoga class.

Late at night, the sound of a door opening from the adjacent room was particularly clear. Shan Yi’s typing paused, her sharp eyes reflecting understanding. She shook her head helplessly. It seemed like someone hadn’t been handled yet.

Refocusing on her work, it wasn’t long before a knock came at her door. Shan Yi frowned, glancing at the bed. Seeing that her wife hadn’t woken up, she swiftly went to open the door, not wanting to disturb her.

“What is it?” Shan Yi glared at the person at the door with displeasure.

“Is Tiantian asleep?” Shan Yue asked.

Shan Yi nodded. “Yes, so?”

“Come to my room for a drink?” Shan Yue lifted the wine bottle in her hand. “You didn’t take it, so it’s just right.”

Shan Yi replied coldly, “If you want to drink, drink by yourself. I don’t have time to join your madness.”

Shan Yue looked at her pitifully. “I’m feeling down.”

“Oh.”

“Xiao Yi, I realize you’re really cold-hearted,” Shan Yue said, staring at her. “You have no empathy at all.”

“Are you drunk already before even drinking?” Shan Yi was nearly amused by her irritation. “Do you know what time it is? I need to sleep with my wife.”

“Wow, you’ve got guts,” Shan Yue, who had just been teased again, jabbed her finger at Shan Yi’s face. “Watch out, or I’ll make things difficult for your wife during her check-ups.”

“You dare? I’m worried my dad would be the first to deal with you,” Shan Yi said with a laugh. “I’ve already asked my parents to think of names for the baby.”

Shan Yue: …

“Come on, just keep me company and chat for a bit. If we talk here for too long, we might wake up Tiantian,” Shan Yue softened her tone. Drinking alone was too boring. She was both happy and unhappy—happy because Tian Jing had agreed to her request, but unhappy because she had once again been kicked out of the house.

Hearing this, Shan Yi looked back at her sleeping wife and sighed. “Alright, you go ahead. I’ll shut down my computer.”

“Don’t stand me up,” Shan Yue frowned.

Shan Yi replied impatiently, “You’re so annoying.”

Satisfied that her niece would come over, Shan Yue returned to her room.

On the bed, Shen Tiantian turned over, instinctively reaching for the spot beside her, which felt cold and untouched. Her hand stopped, and she slowly opened her eyes. Sure enough, in the dim light, she saw that Shan Yi was not in bed. Frowning slightly, Shen Tiantian listened carefully for any sounds from the bathroom. It was quiet—no signs of anyone inside.

“Yi Yi?” Shen Tiantian called softly.

Receiving no response, she sat up, glanced around the room, and saw no sign of Shan Yi. Her frown deepened as she rubbed her temple, which ached from lack of sleep. She got out of bed, put on her slippers, and stepped out of the room.

She heard faint sounds coming from Shan Yue’s room and moved closer to listen. The sounds became clearer.

“….What should you think I should do?” came Shan Yue’s heavily inebriated voice.

“You brought this on yourself. Kneel and win her back,” Shan Yi’s clear, rational voice replied, evidently unaffected by the alcohol.

Shen Tiantian was at a loss. It was the middle of the night, and the two were drinking and chatting? She turned the door handle quietly, planning a surprise attack, but the door was suddenly pulled open from the inside. She fell into the arms of the person on the other side, the familiar scent of fresh mint shower gel quickly filling her nose.

Shan Yi naturally embraced the scantily-clad Shen Tiantian, gently asking, “Why are you awake?”

Shen Tiantian murmured, “I noticed you weren’t in the room, so I came looking for you.”

“As you can see, I’m here drinking with my aunt.”

Shen Tiantian sniffed her, detecting a hint of red wine mixed with the mint scent. “How much did you drink?”

Ever since that incident, Shen Tiantian had seemed to avoid alcohol. She had learned firsthand that alcohol was not her friend. In just a few months, she had lost her virginity, become pregnant, and had to deal with all sorts of complications without fully enjoying the dating phase.

It can be said that that drunken night truly changed half of her life. Fortunately, the outcome was good. The one-night stand was with someone she liked, and coincidentally, that person liked her back. It was unexpected but just right.

Everything she now possessed was attributed to that beautiful accident.

“I didn’t drink,” Shan Yi whispered, “Aunt drank too much and got a bit of the smell.”

Shen Tiantian peeked over and saw several wine bottles scattered across the carpet, confirming that quite a bit had indeed been consumed.

“Why did Aunt drink so much?” Shen Tiantian asked, somewhat surprised. “Is it because things aren’t going well with Manager Tian?” Was she drowning her sorrows in alcohol?

“It seems so,” Shan Yi replied, stroking her back. “Be good, go back to sleep.”

Shen Tiantian asked, “What about you?”

Shan Yi turned to glance at the young woman lying on the floor and sighed helplessly. “I’ll tidy her up and then go back.”

“I can help.”

“No, you going back to sleep now is the best help you can give me.”

“But…”

“No buts. It’s too late. You have to think about our daughter,” Shan Yi interrupted, her tone as gentle as ever but with an unmistakable hint of authority.

Shen Tiantian sensed it and suddenly pursed her lips, looking crestfallen. “Are you scolding me?”

Shan Yi was taken aback, suddenly flustered. “No…”

Defiantly, Shen Tiantian ignored her. “I’m going back.”

“Wife…”

Shen Tiantian turned a deaf ear.

Shan Yi reached out but couldn’t stop her wife. Turning to look at her aunt, she felt even more helpless.

She turned around, gathered up the empty bottles from the carpet, lining them up against the wall one by one. Returning to the bedside, she lifted Shan Yue onto the bed, removed her socks, covered her with a blanket, and left her aunt’s room.

Back in her own bedroom, seeing the lump under the covers, Shan Yi shook her head. She took off her shoes, climbed into bed, and wrapped both herself and the blanket tightly around the person beside her.

Shen Tiantian struggled a bit symbolically but quickly stopped moving.

Shan Yi tugged at the blanket, “Alright, little kitty, it’s time to come out. Don’t suffocate yourself.”

“No.” Shen Tiantian wasn’t actually angry; she just wanted to give her a little trouble for scolding her.

“Be good, it’s my fault. Please come out.”

Shen Tiantian didn’t hold out for long. She poked her head out, pouting and looking at her wife with a face full of discontent.

Shan Yi found it amusing and grabbed her wife’s face, covering it with kisses. After a while, she stopped and said, “Are you still mad?”

Shen Tiantian also laughed, wiping her face, “My face is covered in saliva. You’re so annoying.”

“It can get worse. Do you want to try that too?” Shan Yi said with a mischievous smile.

“No,” Shen Tiantian blushed, seemingly thinking of something.

“You have no choice.” Shan Yi said and then kissed her again, holding her hair in place…

But after a long while, Shan Yi didn’t make any further moves.

Shen Tiantian opened her eyes in a daze and took a moment to realize what was happening. She burst into laughter, “Hahaha, you forgot you’re on your period again.”

Thinking she could be mischievous? Shen Tiantian felt like she was going to laugh herself silly.

An embarrassed Shan Yi was also very cute.

Now that Shen Tiantian was pregnant, her periods had stopped for several months, and she no longer experienced the discomfort of that time, feeling quite comfortable.

“Are you still laughing?” Shan Yi said fiercely.

“Hahaha…..mmph?!”

Shan Yi decisively silenced her wife’s annoying laughter with a kiss, successfully making her stop.

As the kiss started to get out of hand again, Shan Yi had to stop, raising her face and looking at her wife, slightly panting, “Sleep.”

Shen Tiantian hummed softly, rubbing her face against hers, “Tired.”

Even though she had been very passionate during the kiss.

Shan Yi kissed the corner of her mouth, not exposing her, “Mm, I’m tired too. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

The clock ticked on second by second as the person in bed fell asleep, and by now the weather had turned a bit chilly. After the late-night disturbance, the couple slept in until noon.

Aunt Zhang had prepared lunch, and seeing that neither daughter had come downstairs, their mother went up to call them.

Shen Tiantian was awakened by the knocking, sitting up with her hair in a mess, looking like she couldn’t tell dream from reality.

Shan Yi opened the door, said a word to her mother, and then returned, “Get up, it’s time to eat.”

“What time is it?” Shen Tiantian asked, her voice still a bit hoarse from just waking up.

“Twelve o’clock.”

Shen Tiantian blinked, her expression a mix of disbelief and grogginess, “Really?”

“Yes.”

“Oh no.” Shen Tiantian covered her face, “I had an appointment with Wanjun to sign up for the class today.”

She picked up her phone and saw no messages from Liu Wanjun. She guessed that her friend had either forgotten or overslept as well.

This made Shen Tiantian feel a bit relieved. She tossed her phone onto the bed and went into the bathroom. After exchanging a glance with her wife, they both looked into the mirror and started brushing their teeth in sync.

The happiest thing was to be able to say good morning and goodnight to each other every day, brush their teeth together, and raise their child together.

After freshening up, they left the bathroom together, silently changed out of their pajamas, and walked downstairs hand in hand.

It was rare to see their father at home, as he usually left for work on time every day. Shen Tiantian was a bit surprised, “Good morning, Dad.”

“Good morning, come and sit.” He took off his glasses, set down his newspaper, and gestured for Shen Tiantian to come over.

Shen Tiantian obediently walked over.

“Last night, your mother and I spent a long time thinking and looked through the dictionary to come up with a few names. See if you like any of them.” He handed her a piece of paper and added, “If you don’t like them, we can come up with more.”

Shen Tiantian took the paper with a mix of nervousness and anticipation, “Thank you, Dad. You both worked hard.”
