The wedding concluded perfectly.
Concerned that Shen Tiantian might be exhausted, Shan Yi took her back to their hotel room shortly after 8 PM. It was the same room where they had shared their first night together.
The room was meticulously decorated. Red rose petals were arranged in the shape of a red envelope in the middle of the large bed, which stood out against the light green bedding. Shen Tiantian found it amusing and touching. Shan Yi had put a lot of thought into the decor, even covering the bed with a green sheet, knowing that Shen Tiantian liked the color.
Shen Tiantian looked around the room, feeling a mix of embarrassment and nostalgia. Apart from the bed and the heart-shaped balloons on the floor, the room remained mostly unchanged. She vaguely remembered being pinned down, her memories of that night hazy and scattered.
Shan Yi hugged her from behind. “What are you thinking about?”
Blushing, Shen Tiantian replied, “I’m thinking about how the little one in my belly came to be.”
“Perfect, let’s reminisce about it tonight.”
Shen Tiantian: …
“Do you remember how passionate you were that night? You kept urging me to go deeper, to go faster…”
Shan Yi’s lips were close to her ear, her seductive voice sending shivers down Shen Tiantian’s spine. Shen Tiantian’s face turned crimson as she covered her ears. “Stop talking.”
But Shan Yi continued, unfazed. “You were so hot and wet, tightly sucking on my fingers…”
“Shan Yi!” Shen Tiantian, both embarrassed and annoyed, broke free from her embrace and hurriedly waddled to the bathroom with her big belly. “I’m ignoring you. I’m going to take a bath.”
“Take it easy,” Shan Yi followed her affectionately.
With a loud bang, Shen Tiantian shut the bathroom door, leaning against it, panting heavily.
Her wife was simply too much to handle; she felt utterly defenseless against her. A knock on the door reminded her that there was no escaping tonight. Her heart raced with a mix of nervousness and excitement. The anticipated wedding night play seemed even more embarrassing than she had imagined.
After calming her breathing, she slowly opened the door.
As soon as she looked up, her lips were seized in a rough kiss, and she was pinned against the wall, her breath nearly taken away.
That night, the two of them shared a long and entangled bath, moving from the bathroom to the bed, continuing deep into the night.
Shen Tiantian didn’t know when she fell asleep. She woke up feeling sore all over, Shan Yi having thoroughly kept her promise of reminiscing about their first night. Remembering last night’s passion, Shen Tiantian blushed deeply. She leaned over and mischievously kissed Shan Yi’s neck, sucking hard to leave a dark red mark. One wasn’t enough; she wanted to leave more. At that moment, Shan Yi woke up with a hiss.
“Baby, what are you doing?” After the intense activities of the night before, Shan Yi’s voice was hoarse.
Feeling guilty, Shen Tiantian backed away slightly. “Nothing, nothing at all.”
Shan Yi chuckled, half-closed her eyes, and kissed her wife’s forehead. “You must be tired. Go back to sleep for a bit.”
Shen Tiantian reached for her phone and saw that it was already past eleven. “I’m hungry.”
“Alright, you stay put, and I’ll call room service.” Considering the exhaustion from last night and the fact that Shen Tiantian was pregnant, Shan Yi prioritized taking care of her.
Shen Tiantian felt a sweet warmth in her heart. She raised her bare right hand and carefully examined the ring on her ring finger, a smile forming at the corner of her mouth.
She was so happy, it almost felt unreal.
After hanging up the phone, Shan Yi turned around to see Shen Tiantian looking captivated. She took her hand and kissed it gently. Shen Tiantian, smiling at the corners of her eyes, let her kiss her fingers. After a while, she pulled Shan Yi down next to her, their bare skin pressing tightly together.
Shen Tiantian tried to hug her lover’s waist, but her prominent belly was in the way, allowing her hand to just reach Shan Yi’s lower back. She pouted unhappily. “I suddenly want the baby to come out quickly.”
“Why?” Shan Yi asked.
“I feel like she’s seriously getting in our way,” Shen Tiantian replied.
Shan Yi was taken aback, hardly believing that such words came from Shen Tiantian. Was this a type of love talk? Of course, she often said things even more touching than love talk, like how beautiful her wife was and how much she loved her…
Shan Yi leaned in to kiss her, but Shen Tiantian suddenly pushed her away. “No, I haven’t brushed my teeth.”
“It’s not the first time,” Shan Yi protested.
Shen Tiantian: …
Covering her mouth, Shen Tiantian insisted, “I said no, and that’s final.”
“Alright.” Shan Yi sighed and kissed her forehead. “Since we’re not going back to sleep, let’s get up and freshen up. The hotel service will be here soon.”
Shen Tiantian nodded, lifting the quilt to get out of bed, only to realize she was completely naked, her body covered in love marks. Blushing, she pulled the quilt back over herself.
Shan Yi, understanding her embarrassment, touched her nose and cleared her throat. “Do you want me to carry you?”
“Can you still carry me?” Shen Tiantian looked at her with a troubled expression. She was over six months pregnant now, her belly so large she could barely see her toes. Before she got pregnant, Shan Yi could carry her, but now she was at least twenty or thirty pounds heavier. Even if Shan Yi dared to carry her, she wouldn’t let her, fearing she might hurt their baby.
“I don’t dare to try,” Shan Yi said, her face turning pale at the sight of Shen Tiantian’s large belly. “I’ll go get a towel to wipe you down.”
Shen Tiantian covered her mouth and laughed. “Now you realize you’re a beast, don’t you? Get me a set of pajamas and help me inside. I can still stand on my own.”
Shan Yi: …
With Shan Yi’s help, Shen Tiantian finished washing up just as the hotel service arrived. Despite feeling sticky all over, she ate lunch and then took another nap in the hotel.
As dusk approached, Mother Shan called right on time. Shan Yi tossed the phone to her wife, signaling her to answer it. Shen Tiantian helplessly picked up the call.
“Why haven’t you two come home yet?” Mother Shan asked. She had been considerate enough not to call them during their wedding night, and she had even refrained from calling at noon. But as the evening drew on and they still hadn’t returned, she couldn’t resist inquiring.
“Tiantian is pregnant. If you wear her out, you’ll be in big trouble with me,” Mother Shan scolded.
Shen Tiantian was at a loss—should she say something or not?
Shan Yi took the phone with a smile. “Got it. We’re heading home now.”
Her mother gave a few more instructions, mostly urging them to come back soon and to be careful on the way.
After hanging up, Shan Yi packed their things into a bag. Their wedding dresses had already been sent to the front desk for cleaning after lunch.
“Let’s go home,” Shan Yi said.
Shen Tiantian’s heart fluttered, and she nodded lightly. “Mm.”
She truly had a home now. No matter how many times she said it, it never got old. She had a home, and soon a new member would join them. She patted her belly and looked at her hand in Shan Yi’s, grinning widely.
Shan Yi tossed their belongings into the back seat and gently opened the car door for Shen Tiantian, shielding her head to ensure she wouldn’t bump it. After closing the door, she walked around the front of the car and got into the driver’s seat.
“I really want some ice cream,” Shen Tiantian suddenly said, eyeing a billboard outside.
“It’s getting colder; you can’t have any now,” Shan Yi firmly refused.
Shen Tiantian looked as pitiful as a scolded child.
Ignoring her, Shan Yi started the car and began driving home. “Wouldn’t you prefer some of Mom’s soup instead?”
Thinking of her mother-in-law’s soup, Shen Tiantian licked her lips and reluctantly agreed.
After a forty-minute drive, they finally arrived at the Shan residence’s garage. Shen Tiantian opened the door and awkwardly climbed out of the car. It was nearly 7 PM, and the sky was dark. The lights in the yard were on, and Shan Yi held her wife’s hand the entire time, worried she might stumble.
“Dad, Mom, we’re home,” Shan Yi called out.
As soon as Shen Tiantian spoke, Mother Shan came over, taking the items from her daughter’s hands. “You’re finally back. Come in and eat; you must be hungry.”
“Starving,” Shen Tiantian pouted pitifully.
Shan Yi teased, “I think you’re still thinking about the ice cream.”
Hearing this, Mother Shan scolded gently, “Tiantian, with your current condition, you shouldn’t eat such things, especially cold food.”
“No, no,” Shen Tiantian quickly denied, sneaking a glance at Shan Yi while her mother-in-law was distracted.
“Hey, Sis-in-law,” Shan Xu greeted as he trudged down the stairs, looking utterly dejected.
Shen Tiantian was startled, “What mischief have you been up to?”
Shan Xu, looking miserable, glanced at Shen Tiantian, shook his head, and slumped down at the dining table.
Seeing his son in such a state, Father Shan frowned and scolded, “Look at yourself. What kind of behavior is this?”
Shen Tiantian, trying to lighten the mood, chimed in: “Can we eat now? I’m starving.”
“Yes, let’s eat. Everyone, stop talking,” said Mother Shan.
Shan Xu shot her a grateful glance, blinking as if to say, “Thank you, sis-in-law.”
Shan Yi gave him a cold look, and Shan Xu quickly looked away.
“Is Auntie on duty tonight?” Shen Tiantian asked, noticing the empty chair. Mother Shan leaned in conspiratorially and whispered, “She’s out chasing her girlfriend.”
Shen Tiantian raised an eyebrow and then smiled, having an inkling of what that might mean.
After dinner, Shen Tiantian went upstairs to take a bath, finally washing away the stickiness and feeling refreshed as she snuggled into their marital bed. She had finished the book on her bedside table and wanted to watch some videos, but the phone’s radiation was too strong. She would have to wait until after their baby was born.
Looking up, she saw Shan Yi with wet hair and patted the bed. “Come here, I’ll dry your hair.”
Shan Yi handed her the hairdryer and obediently laid her head on her wife’s lap. The sound of the hairdryer filled the room as they gazed into each other’s eyes, the warmth between them palpable.
Once her hair was half-dry, Shan Yi couldn’t resist anymore. She sat up suddenly and kissed Shen Tiantian passionately, exploring her mouth with abandon.
After a while, Shan Yi let go, grabbed her wife’s hand, and signaled for her to continue drying her hair. The newlyweds playfully teased each other back and forth until they finally lay in each other’s arms under the covers half an hour later.
Shen Tiantian, rarely taking the initiative, kissed her gently and whispered, “Thank you, my dear wife.”
“For what?” Shan Yi asked, puzzled.
“For giving me such a happy home and a baby.”
“Foolish girl,” Shan Yi said, touched, and kissed her to stop her from saying more. After a while, she released her. “You’ve made me just as happy.”
Shen Tiantian smiled softly. “That’s good.”
“We’ve had a long day. Let’s get some sleep.”
“Alright. Goodnight.”
