Retinoblastoma.

When Tsuna heard this word, he instantly tightened his grip on Mukuro’s hand. He exerted a significant amount of force. Mukuro remained quite calm and asked, “What is that?”

The doctor provided a brief explanation without delving into details, “You shouldn’t worry too much. This isn’t a terminal condition. Modern medicine offers various ways to treat it. However, this hospital hasn’t treated this condition before. You can take the test results to the municipal centre hospital.”

Mukuro displayed a frustrated expression that essentially conveyed, ‘If you can’t treat it, why bother talking?’ He pulled Tsuna, who was visibly pale, along and said, “Thank you, goodbye.”

Tsuna was dazedly led away by him. It was almost like he was being shoved into the car. Mukuro leaned over to fasten Tsuna’s seatbelt and it was only then that he abruptly sobered up, “Muku! Let’s go to the municipal centre hospital now!”

“Calm down,” Mukuro gently patted his face and felt his muscles tensed up. He clicked his tongue and said, “What we need to do now is go home and have dinner.”

“But, Muku…” Tsuna’s words were cut off by a kiss. The soft, warm touch strangely eased his panic. He clenched the fabric of his pants that was on his lap and closed his eyes tightly.

The kiss was not deep. Mukuro lingered on his lips for a moment before pulling away. “I’ll go to the hospital tomorrow, alright?”

Indeed, panicking won’t help. Tsuna took a few breaths and forced a smile at Mukuro, “Then I’ll accompany you tomorrow.”

Although his vacation wasn’t starting until the day after tomorrow, he hadn’t taken any time off since Mukuro returned from studying abroad. This rare instance should be approved, right?

“Will your assistant agree?” Mukuro chuckled as expected, teasing him.

Tsuna shook his head helplessly and looked worriedly at Mukuro. “Even if he disagrees, I can’t just not go.”

With this matter looming in their minds, they didn’t say much to each other that night. When Tsuna called Reborn to request time off, all he got was a sinister laugh on the other end, “Don’t go too far, Stupid Tsuna.”

Tsuna’s fear dissipated. He briefly explained the situation. Reborn remained silent for a long time. If it weren’t for the ongoing call time on his phone, Tsuna would have thought he had hung up.

“Sorry for not informing you about his return. His situation is just too complicated.” Tsuna thought for a moment and mentioned Estraneo as well. “Well, the only good news is that we don’t need to worry about this company anymore.”

“Is he using this to threaten you?”

Upon hearing this statement, Tsuna was taken aback and quickly denied, “How could that be? He said…”

His open mouth trailed off. It was impossible to utter that proposal-like sentiment, akin to a marriage proposal gift. Tsuna sighed, “Anyway, it’s not how you put it. He’s been working hard outside. I don’t know how to explain it to you.”

“You should be worrying about how to explain it to Iemitsu, not me.” A straightforward remark, dripping with sarcasm, came through Reborn’s voice on the other end. It made Tsuna’s heart tighten. He hadn’t told Reborn about his relationship with Mukuro, right? What was he referring to?

After a pause, Tsuna cautiously asked, “Reborn, you know?”

“Know what? Do I know that he had fucked you before, or that he’s been picking you up for work lately? You were already selling yourself to help others count money. Now you’ve even become addicted to counting the money, is that it?”

Tsuna involuntarily held his breath and then let out a bitter laugh. So Reborn already knew about Mukuro’s return. “Nothing can escape your notice.”

“The question is, does that kid even want to hide it? And do you even have the sense to realise it?” Reborn snorted. His words were laced with a fair amount of annoyance. “I’ve been saying that you’ve spoiled him too much. He’s got you wrapped around his finger.”

Tsuna muttered “Reborn” under his breath, unsure of what else to say. Over these many years… No matter how stern or harsh Reborn’s tone might have been, Tsuna knew that his assistant, who was also a mentor, always had his best interests at heart.

“… I’m telling you, don’t expect me to help you with anything related to him and you.”

“Reborn, can’t we just wait and see how things turn out?” Tsuna felt stifled. He and Mukuro were still uncertain about their relationship. Afterall, they were just trying it out for now.
