ABSTIWTVMST Chapter 113

Under the influence of mutual indulgence, the deformed peppers at home rapidly dwindled at a rate of a hundred per day, proving just how much someone was indulging.

Xu Chenghao had initially worried that the peppers might run out, but fortunately, six days passed, and it was time to harvest more. The greenhouse was filled with bright red peppers hanging on the plants. Although it was hard to distinguish between the deformed and intact ones, the sheer number of fiery red peppers was impressive.

Xu Chenghao felt a bit hopeful. After activating the machinery to harvest them all, he spread the peppers on the table and counted them twice. He didn’t bother counting the deformed ones, but the total quantity was considerable. However, the number of intact peppers was less than expected—only 187 peppers were harvested.

This time, they still didn’t reach 205 peppers. Xu Chenghao swept all the peppers into a cloth bag, worried that at this rate, he wouldn’t be able to complete the 4.0 task.

There were only two opportunities left, and he still needed 427 more peppers. To meet this goal, he would need to average 214 peppers per harvest—harder than 205, and the chances of success were slim…

Xu Chenghao placed the seeds into the machine, watching it automatically traverse the greenhouse, lost in thought. He wondered if the greenhouse area was insufficient and whether he should expand it to increase yield.

Suddenly, a group of ducks appeared with a “quack, quack, quack~~~” sound. The small, plump yellow ducks shook their bodies with an intuitive motion, spraying a large area with water, irrigating the freshly planted pepper seeds.

Xu Chenghao snapped out of his daze and turned around to see Jing Yicheng, who had somehow appeared without him noticing, helping him complete the final planting task.

Xu Chenghao stared at him.

Jing Yicheng looked back seriously: “What’s wrong? Is there something you want to say?”

Xu Chenghao: “I was just thinking… after eating so many peppers, you should contribute some labor in return.”

Jing Yicheng lowered his voice: “Don’t I work every night?”

Xu Chenghao immediately pulled his ear and said through gritted teeth, “I told you to stop watching all that nonsense. Look at what you’ve turned into.”

Jing Yicheng leaned into his hand, nuzzling his forehead to soothe him. “Alright, I won’t say it anymore. We’ll do whatever Haohao wants.”

Xu Chenghao couldn’t even face the words “labor” anymore. After a moment of speechlessness, he said, “I just wanted you to plant some peppers… It seems like my greenhouse space isn’t enough.”

Jing Yicheng immediately suggested, “My research institute has just been converted into agricultural machinery. There’s plenty of space for planting and research.”

Xu Chenghao: “I was thinking the same. I’ll give you some seeds, and you can plant them first. Once they bear fruit, you can give me all the harvested peppers.”

Jing Yicheng was reluctant to go alone: “Why don’t you come with me?”

Xu Chenghao brought up an old issue. “Didn’t you say I wasn’t allowed in your workplace? I think it’s better if you go by yourself.”

“The restricted areas are closed now. You can enter freely,” Jing Yicheng coaxed. “You can go anywhere you want.”

Xu Chenghao was already a bit curious, and under Jing Yicheng’s persuasion, he finally agreed, half-reluctantly, to accompany him during their lunch break to the legendary research institute.

The location was as remote as he had imagined, but the area was vast, with multiple layers of security. It took them twenty minutes just to get through the gates. To the left of the institute’s entrance hung a sign for agricultural machinery, while the right side displayed a notice that read, “No entry for dignitaries.”

Xu Chenghao stared at the notice for a while, wondering if people often came looking for Jing Yicheng, hoping to persuade him to return to his original research. It seemed likely.

Upon entering the institute, the decor inside was blindingly white and entirely in a minimalist style. For a moment, Xu Chenghao thought he was in a hospital. The sterile design and the researchers in white lab coats walking around made it feel very similar.

Jing Yicheng led him to his office, where the style didn’t change, but the color shifted from reflective white to somber black. The entire room was so dark that it felt oppressive without the lights on.

Xu Chenghao frowned. “I don’t like this color.”

Jing Yicheng turned on the lights and agreed readily, “Alright, I’ll change it right away.”

Xu Chenghao stood by the window, pulling at the blinds to look outside. “Is the whole institute white outside and black inside? Are you sure the researchers will feel good working in this environment?”

Jing Yicheng stood behind him, wrapping one arm around his waist, and looked out through the gap in the blinds. He calmly replied, “No, this is just the environment I was used to. Their offices and living quarters can be decorated as they wish.”

Xu Chenghao turned to look at him. “You used to like black?”

Jing Yicheng hesitated before softly saying, “In the dark, I could hide after turning off the lights.”

Xu Chenghao didn’t respond, but as he turned his head back, he was pulled back by Jing Yicheng, who asked, “Haohao, don’t you have anything to say?”

Xu Chenghao: “No.”

Jing Yicheng instantly felt aggrieved. “Why aren’t you comforting me?”

Xu Chenghao replied, “You’re living so well now; what’s there to comfort? Let go!”

Jing Yicheng not only refused to let go but also held Xu Chenghao’s head in place, preventing him from escaping his request for comfort. Sometimes, their kisses would escalate, especially in this environment where Jing Yicheng was most familiar and once considered the darkest place in the past. It made him particularly excited. As their kisses deepened, he suddenly supported Xu Chenghao’s hips and lifted him up.

Xu Chenghao was startled, instinctively wrapping his legs around Jing Yicheng’s waist. He nervously exclaimed, “What are you doing? This is your office!”

Jing Yicheng muffled his voice. “That’s why I’m so excited, Haohao. I want to claim you here.”

Xu Chenghao was both angry and speechless: “Aren’t you afraid someone might walk in?”

Jing Yicheng: “I locked the door.”

Xu Chenghao continued, “Aren’t you worried about the noise going out?”

Jing Yicheng reassured him, “Don’t worry, the soundproofing here is excellent.”

Xu Chenghao made a last effort to resist, “But you don’t have a rest area!”

Jing Yicheng chuckled softly. “It’s okay; there are plenty of places we can use.”

Xu Chenghao: “…”

He really didn’t want to know what other places there were!

Xu Chenghao’s rational mind told him he absolutely couldn’t let Jing Yicheng do as he pleased; otherwise, who knew what might happen if he kept getting aroused at any time and place. But in reality, rationality had no place in the bedroom, especially when it came to these matters where Jing Yicheng was always domineering and unyielding.

Xu Chenghao’s words gradually became fragmented, turning into low, hoarse moans that drove Jing Yicheng wild. Even the faintest whimpers carried a seductive undertone.

Jing Yicheng’s whole body felt like it was melting. He wished he could make Xu Chenghao keep making those sounds forever, to always blossom under him.

This was probably the most intense time they had ever been together. Jing Yicheng, in the environment he hated the most, was with the person he loved the most, and his brain felt like it was on a high. His passion was fierce and relentless, pushing Xu Chenghao to tears for the first time. Xu Chenghao passed out before it even ended.

After finishing everything, Jing Yicheng gently placed him on the sofa, carefully tidied his clothes, covered him with a coat, and then cleaned up the traces left in the room before taking the pepper seeds and leaving the office.

Since the research institute had been converted to agricultural machinery, everyone had been so idle they were almost growing mushrooms. The recent burst of activity was just to leave a good impression on the boss’s lover. As soon as they entered the office, everyone slumped, gathering in small groups to gossip.

One person said, “Did you see the boss’s lover? Tall, long-legged, and super handsome. With those looks, it’s no wonder the boss fell for him.”

“What’s that? I heard this President Xu is very capable, too. He owns a fortune worth billions, and his family background is top-notch. Who wouldn’t like that?”

“Two people who don’t need money getting together? That’s definitely true love.”

“Of course! Have you forgotten why our research institute was closed? It was a case of a crown sacrificed for a beauty.”

“I used to wonder why our rebellious boss was so completely taken by someone. Now I understand… If I had such a precious gem, I’d spoil, protect, and love them too, not letting anyone else touch them.”

As soon as these words fell, the room fell silent. The person speaking froze, suddenly feeling a bad premonition. Turning around, he was almost scared to death and automatically stood at attention, saluting. “Hello, Boss!”

Jing Yicheng stared at him coldly, not saying a word for a long time.

The previously lively gossip session instantly plummeted to freezing point. The large, intimidating presence radiated a chill that could freeze everyone in place.

Just when everyone started to feel anxious for the person who had spoken, Jing Yicheng said with a blank expression, “You don’t.”

Everyone: “???”

Jing Yicheng continued, “He’s mine.”

Everyone: “…”

Okay, we really don’t have such a precious gem. He’s yours, all yours. Please, just leave!

But after Jing Yicheng finally left, everyone couldn’t help but whisper, “The boss seems to be in a good mood?”

“Since he didn’t take action, he must be in a good mood… And why do I feel like he was showing off just now?”

“Don’t overthink it. The more you think, the closer you get to eating dog food.”

Everyone: “…”

Why does it feel like we’ve already eaten some?

Just as they were questioning whether they had already been fed dog food, Jing Yicheng took the pepper seeds to a rarely used open area in the institute. After planting the peppers using machinery, he instructed others to fence off the area and put up signs prohibiting anyone from approaching or touching it before returning to his office.

Xu Chenghao was exhausted and slept deeply, even missing a call from Li Nian. When Jing Yicheng returned, Li Nian was calling for the second time. Jing Yicheng answered, and Li Nian’s loud voice immediately boomed through the phone, “Xu Chenghao, you finally answered! Do you want to scare me to death by not answering all afternoon? Why didn’t you pick up earlier?”

Jing Yicheng coldly replied, “It’s me.”

Li Nian choked on his words, coughing for a while before recovering. He was relieved he hadn’t said anything inappropriate and awkwardly asked, “Oh, it’s Mr. Jing… So is Mr. Xu with you?”

Jing Yicheng didn’t hold back, “He is. Do you need something?”

Li Nian calmly said, “Oh, it’s nothing… It’s just that Mr. Xu’s mother is at the company and wants to discuss something with him.”
