ABSTIWTVMST Chapter 115

Xu Chenghao left Jing Yicheng with an encouraging look that said, “You can do it,” before turning to the balcony to continue persuading his mother.

As soon as Xu Chenghao left, Jing Yicheng, who had just started to relax, immediately tensed up again. Standing in the familiar living room, he felt out of place, unsure whether to sit or move around. After some hesitation, he decided to continue standing stiffly, desperately hoping that Xu Chenghao would return soon.

However, instead of Xu Chenghao returning, it was Xu Chenghao’s father who appeared first.

Jing Yicheng, with a stiff expression, greeted, “Hello, Uncle.”

Father Xu, maintaining a business-like smile, scrutinized him without showing any emotion. “Hello.”

Jing Yicheng: “…”

Father Xu: “…”

Jing Yicheng’s thoughts: What should I say in this situation?

Father Xu’s thoughts: How dare he act so arrogantly while trying to be with my son!

Then, the two of them continued their awkward silence: “…”

The atmosphere grew even more awkward. Fortunately, Xu Chenghao quickly noticed what was happening and approached with his mother, saying, “Dad, you’re here.”

Father Xu responded, “How could I not be here for something this important?”

Xu Chenghao smiled and, standing beside Jing Yicheng, asked, “Did you greet my dad?”

With Xu Chenghao by his side, Jing Yicheng felt much more at ease and greeted once more, “Hello, Uncle Xu. I’m Jing Yicheng.”

Father Xu nodded, “Hello, I’ve heard of you.”

Jing Yicheng, aware that the rumors about him weren’t exactly flattering, could only respond with a polite smile.

Xu Chenghao smoothly took over the conversation, “Since you’ve heard of him, there’s no need for me to introduce him further. I was planning to bring him home in a few days, but mom found out ahead of time. So let’s have a casual meal now, and in a few days, I’ll bring him over for an official visit.”

Jing Yicheng nodded in agreement, his face displaying a ‘Listen to Hao Hao’ expression despite his nerves.

The Xu parents exchanged subtle glances, their expressions resembling that of teachers lamenting a top student being pursued by a troublemaker. With a sigh, they diplomatically said, “Let’s eat first. No need to rush into other matters.”

Xu Chenghao, hungry himself, had no objections and led everyone to the dining room, where the long-awaited dinner began.

The dinner table was laden with dishes, and the glasses were filled with white wine. The three seasoned business professionals quickly got into a drinking contest, finishing a bottle in less than fifteen minutes.

Jing Yicheng, initially nervous, became distracted when he saw Xu Chenghao drinking on an empty stomach. He kept quietly reminding him to eat—if it weren’t for the presence of the Xu parents, he would have personally fed him.

As the evening progressed, Jing Yicheng began to worry that Xu Chenghao might feel uncomfortable from drinking too much. Subtly, he tugged on Xu Chenghao’s sleeve under the table to prevent him from drinking more, while he himself shared another bottle with Father Xu.

Mother Xu, observing from the sidelines, secretly watched the interaction between the two. As time passed and they both grew tipsy, small habits in their relationship started to show.

For example, Jing Yicheng repeatedly leaned in close to Xu Chenghao, only to hold back at the last moment—until Xu Chenghao took the initiative to gently bump his forehead against Jing Yicheng’s, at which point Jing Yicheng would finally sit back satisfied. Jing Yicheng also seemed to know exactly what foods Xu Chenghao liked and would discreetly serve them to him when no one was looking.

Mother Xu had to admit that the Jing Yicheng sitting across from her was completely different from the one she had heard about. It was as if a ferocious beast had been tamed into a docile, clingy cat—the contrast was startling.

However… no one knew when this tamed beast might revert to its wild nature and hurt someone again. The danger of being around him was a hundred times greater than with an ordinary person, and Mother Xu wasn’t about to trust him based on one meal. She remained half-concerned and half-skeptical.

If she could, Mother Xu would much rather her son find someone with a temperament similar to his own. That way, they could understand, care for, and support each other, leading to a peaceful, harmonious life. Instead of someone like Jing Yicheng, who was difficult to get along with, had a bad temper, and even lacked social skills, requiring her son to constantly smooth things over!

The more she thought about it, the more she felt her precious son was being wasted, a loss she couldn’t bear.

Feeling dissatisfied, Mother Xu said to Father Xu, “Stop drinking with the kids. Jing Yicheng still needs to go home. What if he gets too drunk?”

Jing Yicheng’s drink suddenly tasted a bit harsh, and after coughing twice, he glanced at Xu Chenghao.

Xu Chenghao struggled to hold back laughter, never expecting that with his parents present, Jing Yicheng wouldn’t even be allowed to stay in the guest room and would be sent packing instead. Jing Yicheng, however, could say nothing and had to accept it with his head down.

Worse still, because Father Xu was drunk, the Xu parents ended up staying in the guest room, leaving Jing Yicheng no chance to return later. He had no choice but to leave Xu Chenghao reluctantly and return to his own home, which he hadn’t stayed in for a long time, feeling lonely and cold.

Lying on the overly spacious bed, Jing Yicheng tried calling Xu Chenghao to complain, hoping to secure permission to return to the bedroom tomorrow. However, Xu Chenghao’s phone went unanswered, leaving Jing Yicheng without even a chance to whine.

Feeling even more resentful, Jing Yicheng couldn’t believe that after just one night apart, he had turned into a neglected and unloved “little cabbage,” with not even a call returned.

Jing Yicheng began sending a barrage of messages: “Hao Hao, I miss you.”

“Hao Hao, you said I could stay in the guest room, but now I don’t even have that.”

“Hao Hao, why aren’t you responding?”

Despite the continuous stream of messages, there was no response. Jing Yicheng, recalling the Xu parents’ attitude, began to feel uneasy. He sat up, glanced at the window, and decided to go check things out.

Downstairs.

After seeing Jing Yicheng off, Xu Chenghao helped his mother get Father Xu to the guest room. Even though he had drunk the least, he couldn’t help feeling drowsy. “Mom, you should get some rest too. I’ll head back now.”

Mother Xu: “Wait, I have something to discuss with you.”

Xu Chenghao paused and preemptively said, “If it’s about Jing Yicheng, there’s no need to say anything.”

Mother Xu, not even having spoken yet, felt displeased. “Why can’t I say anything? Are you sure about your choice?”

Xu Chenghao: “Right or wrong, the most important thing here is my choice.”

Mother Xu said, “But from a parent’s perspective, we want to share our experience with you, to help you avoid unnecessary detours.”

Xu Chenghao: “Not every situation can be resolved with the same experience. Besides, relying solely on others’ experiences won’t get you far.”

Mother Xu: “So you’re set on this?”

Xu Chenghao: “At least for now, I am.”

Mother Xu: “You won’t turn back until you hit a wall?”

Xu Chenghao: “I’ll deal with it when I hit it.”

Mother Xu: “…”

This conversation wasn’t going anywhere. Mother Xu, now upset, said, “Fine, go on then. Your father and I need to rest.”

Xu Chenghao closed the door behind them. “Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

After leaving the guest room, Xu Chenghao returned to his bedroom. As he closed the door, feeling the warmth of the room, he suddenly realized he hadn’t turned on the air conditioner earlier. Immediately, he became alert. “Jing Yicheng?”

“It’s me.” Jing Yicheng stepped out of the bathroom. “I quickly hid when the door opened just now. I didn’t scare you, did I?”

Xu Chenghao locked the door, speechless. “Did you climb in through the window?”

Jing Yicheng nodded without hesitation, “Yes.”

Xu Chenghao: “Didn’t I tell you this afternoon that you can’t stay in the guest room or climb through windows tonight?”

Jing Yicheng hugged him. “But you also said I could stay in the guest room. Now I don’t even have that.”

Xu Chenghao: “…That’s not my fault. If you have any complaints, take them up with my parents. Better yet, ask yourself what you did before that made my parents dislike you so much.”

Jing Yicheng thought back to his past foolish actions and fell silent, only tightening his embrace.

Xu Chenghao frowned. “I haven’t showered yet. Don’t let the smell of alcohol get on you.”

Jing Yicheng: “It’s okay. I can shower with you again.”

Xu Chenghao gave him an amused yet exasperated look. “My house doesn’t have the kind of soundproofing your office does. Are you sure you want to shower together under my parents’ noses?”

Jing Yicheng whispered, “I don’t mind, as long as you can keep quiet.”

Xu Chenghao: “…”

“Get out!”

“I’m not going!” Jing Yicheng, having endured the entire evening, finally had the chance to hold and cuddle Xu Chenghao. There was no way he was leaving.

“Are you getting out or not?” Xu Chenghao, half embarrassed and half angry, grabbed Jing Yicheng’s ear, wishing he could tear it off.

When the pain became too much, Jing Yicheng retaliated by tickling Xu Chenghao, causing him to squirm away. Seizing the opportunity, Jing Yicheng pinned Xu Chenghao against the door, teasing him relentlessly. Xu Chenghao, unable to laugh too loudly, ended up trembling with suppressed laughter.

Seeing this, Jing Yicheng’s expression changed, and his tickling hand began to wander, slipping under Xu Chenghao’s clothes. He pushed Xu Chenghao’s legs apart with one knee, lifting him by the hips.

Xu Chenghao hadn’t expected him to actually go this far. As he instinctively wrapped his legs around Jing Yicheng’s waist, he leaned forward and bit Jing Yicheng’s cheek.

“Ah!” Jing Yicheng gasped, stepping back toward the bed as he whispered, “Hao Hao, you’re going to bite off my cheek.”

Xu Chenghao didn’t let go, signaling with a shake of his legs that he would only release his bite if Jing Yicheng put him down.

Jing Yicheng fell onto the bed, holding Xu Chenghao as he rolled over to pin him beneath. “Let go, or I’ll tickle you again.”

Xu Chenghao immediately let go. “Are you a child? You’re too old to be tickling someone.”

Jing Yicheng rubbed his still sore cheek and sighed, “Well, I’ve never seen an adult who still bites people.”

Xu Chenghao punched him in the stomach, smirking as he watched Jing Yicheng wince in pain. “Consider it a love tap.”

Jing Yicheng replied, “Well, if you hit me, I should hit you back. How about I give you some ‘loving applause’ in return?”

Xu Chenghao almost burst out laughing in exasperation and kicked him. “Get out!”

Jing Yicheng quickly caught his ankle and placed it behind his waist. As he leaned in closer, a certain part of his body pressed intimately against Xu Chenghao, causing Xu Chenghao to shiver, his voice softening considerably.

Jing Yicheng grinned in satisfaction and, just as he was about to unbutton Xu Chenghao’s shirt and lean in for a kiss, a sudden knock came at the bedroom door.

Mother Xu’s voice drifted in from outside, asking, “Chenghao, are you asleep?”

Jing Yicheng: “…”

Xu Chenghao: “…”
