ABV Chapter 75.2

Remember, I’m here

Chu Yinlong turned and left the bedroom where they were filming, and entered the bathroom under the watchful eyes of everyone in the living room and rest area, and stood for a while holding the sink.

Outside, Director Mu knocked on the door. “What’s the situation?”

Chu Yinlong pushed open the door. “He still can’t cry, but we have found a way and plan to try it… Wait a while, if it doesn’t work, I can’t do anything either.”

Mu Zhixing sighed helplessly: “Okay, do your best. If there’s really no way, we can only use artificial tears this time.”

Finally adjusted, Chu Yinlong returned to the bedroom, and closed the door to shield them from prying eyes.

He walked to the bed, dragged a folding chair over, and placed it opposite Jiang Dao.

Then he sat in a chair, assuming the scrutinizing posture of a superior.

“Let’s continue to talk about what happened just now.” Chu Yinlong’s acting  skills have always been good. His voice was low, deliberately revealing a hint of coldness. “Why can’t you tell me about your past? What kind of unspeakable secrets are you hiding?”

Jiang Dao lowered his eyelashes, trying hard to feel sadness and grievance from these words.

“Love is a matter of two people, and partners should be open and honest without reservation. But you don’t want to tell me about your past, so how can I have the confidence to face the future with you?”

Chu Yinlong folded his arms, but his hands were balled into tight fists in the dark, trying his best to keep his tone cold.

“You hide so many secrets that I don’t understand. You even broke the law and broke into a private home at night, avoiding surveillance and infiltrating perfectly… Where did you learn these skills? What other illegal and immoral things have you done that I don’t know about?”

Jiang Dao closed his eyes, and tugged at the edge of the bed with his fingertips.

Chu Yinlong looked away, focusing on the void behind Jiang Dao, and took a short deep breath.

Then he continued, as if reciting lines: “Jiang Dao, I’m afraid of you like this. I’m afraid that you’re a spy sent by another country. I’m afraid of you stealing things that are extremely important to me. And I’m afraid that one day I will wake up, and find blood on your hands…”

Jiang Dao took a slow breath, trembling uncontrollably.

Chu Yinlong’s teeth were clenched until his jaw hurt, and finally he said, “I can’t accept you being by my side like this.”

Jiang Dao closed his eyes, pursed the corners of his mouth, and bit his lips with the tips of his teeth, his face turning pale.

The silence lasted for a long time, and the room was so silent that both of them could be heard breathing abnormally.

Until –

Chu Yinlong suddenly rushed to Jiang Dao’s side, stretched out his hand to squeeze his chin, and pressed his thumb against Jiang Dao’s clenched teeth. “Let go! You’re bleeding! Release, Xiao Dao, don’t bite yourself!”

Jiang Dao raised his face and looked at Chu Yinlong.

His eyes were as black as deep cold pools, freezing all emotions beneath those deep waters, never to see the light.

Chu Yinlong’s eyes instantly turned red, and he eagerly kissed Jiang Dao’s mouth, his voice trembling and incoherent: “Xiao Dao… let go, okay? Don’t hurt yourself… Those words just now are all false, don’t believe it. Xiao Dao , don’t believe them… Don’t bite yourself, let go… I, I made it up, I lied to you. How can I not accept you? I like you… No matter who you are, I like you …”

He pressed his forehead against Jiang Dao’s eyebrows, rubbed the tip of his nose against Jiang Dao’s nose, and kissed off the beads of blood oozing from Jiang Dao’s lips.

A warm tear fell into the clinging lips, and Jiang Dao suddenly returned to his senses. His eyes widened in shock.

Chu Yinlong… cried?

Heart in chaos, Jiang Dao unconsciously raised his hand to hold Chu Yinlong’s face, and wiped away the tears from the corner of the man’s eyes.

“You, why are you crying?” Jiang Dao’s throat tightened. “I’m the one who should cry.”

Chu Yinlong pulled Jiang Dao into his arms with both hands, and whispered in his ear, “I feel bad.”

After taking a slow breath, he said again: “I’m sorry, those words hurt you just now… They aren’t real, they were all made up. How can I be willing to drive you away…”

After a moment of silence, Jiang Dao whispered, “…but I’m really not a good person.”

He not only had blood on his hands, but the evil he has done is probably more cruel than the cruelest thing Chu Yinlong can imagine. Although many things were under the context of ‘you die or I die’1as in, he has to kill in order to not be killed, it is undeniable he made the choice to do those things.

There’s a beast hidden in his heart. Even if he wasn’t reluctant to part with this beautiful world, and wasn’t unwilling to implicate Chu Yinlong, there would not be a living body left in Qin Xiao’s villa that night.

“Jiang Dao,” Chu Yinlong looked into the young man’s eyes seriously. “I can tell whether you are a good person or not.”

After speaking, he put his finger on the end of Jiang Dao’s eyes, lingering on the faintly red spot for a while, before opening his mouth again.

“Your past is probably not very good. You don’t want others seeing your weakness or underbelly, so you raised a vicious dog in your heart to guard that which you cherish the most… For me, those are all part of you. Whether cruel or not, I accept it completely. Even if one day you can’t rein in the vicious dog in your heart and hurt others, or even me… I may be sad, but I will still love you.”

Hearing Chu Yinlong’s gentle and extremely solemn voice, Jiang Dao felt a little warm in his eyes. His heart was sour, and the world in front of him was shattered by a little water.

“Besides, please believe me. I will help you manage that vicious dog.”

Chu Yinlong whispered in Jiang Dao’s ear.

“I will also protect your most precious and cherished things with it. You are no longer alone, I’m here. You can vent your emotions freely, you can be sad, you can complain, you can make trouble without reason…”

“You can cry too. You don’t have to be afraid of your weakness being discovered. Remember, I’m here.”

The world in front of him became more fragmented, but the love in Chu Yinlong’s eyes was crystal clear, like a ray of light that shot directly into Jiang Dao’s heart.

He hurriedly closed his eyes, but hot tears continued to roll out of his eyes, slid across his cheeks, and were gently wiped away by a warm hand.

More tears flowed, as if to vent all the grief and despair he had endured and swallowed back all these years…

Jiang Dao hugged Chu Yinlong tightly, so strongly that Chu Yinlong couldn’t help frowning. But he didn’t make a sound, only raised his hand to gently stroke the back of Jiang Dao’s neck, and lightly pat his back.

After a long time… and even then…

Jiang Dao couldn’t stop crying. Tears even flowed down the body close to him, wetting the skin of the two of them.

Chu Yinlong was originally relieved that Jiang Dao finally cried, but he didn’t expect the result to become more and more uncontrollable, and he panicked.

“Stop crying.” He tried to wipe away Jiang Dao’s tears, but his hands were already soaked with tears. “Stop, ah… don’t, or I’ll feel bad for you. Adjust your breathing, or it will take a while and be uncomfortable.”

“I… um, I don’t know…” Jiang Dao choked, unable to hold back his tears. “I don’t know why… why… can’t stop…”

“Think of happy things?” Chu Yinlong felt distressed and amused, rubbing Jiang Dao’s face softly. “It’s been a hard day, let’s ask Director Mu to give you a chicken leg for lunch? Or, do you want to drink milk tea?”

“Lunch, uh, lunch… time… it’s already over.” Jiang Dao said in a heavy nasal voice, with tears in his eyes. “I’m crying, cry… Go and call Director Mu…”

After a few words of persuasion, Chu Yinlong got up helplessly, and called Director Mu Zhixing in.

Seeing that Jiang Dao couldn’t stop crying, Director Mu became depressed.

He rolled his eyes at Chu Yinlong. “I told you to make him cry, but I didn’t ask you to bully him like this. Look at how much he’s crying! How the hell did you torture him. How are you so cruel? Hey, you—”

Glancing back and seeing no one watching, Director Mu, lowered his voice and said in shock, “You actually bit his mouth! What’s with your habit?!”

Chu Yinlong: …

This scene – why does it seem familiar?

“It’s not… it’s not him,” Jiang Dao tried to defend Chu Yinlong between tears. “That, um, I… bit myself.”

Mu Zhixing: “Do you think I believe you?”

Jiang Dao: “Really…!”

Mu Zhixing was speechless, turned around and grabbed a pack of tissues from the room outside and handed it to Jiang Dao. “Wipe it. Lunch has already arrived. Hurry up and calm down and eat first.”

With outsiders around, Jiang Dao quickly suppressed the emotions and stopped crying.

The two wiped away their tears, put on their coats, walked side by side into the living room that was temporarily used as a lounge, and ate with the film crew.

“Let’s hurry up this afternoon and take advantage of your emotions to finish this crying scene.” Director Mu said, and turned to the coordinator, “Jiang Dao’s eyes will definitely be swollen tomorrow. Adjust the scenes and arrange for some that don’t require close-ups, or focus on Xiao Chu and those in Group B.

The coordinator nodded, quickly finishing his meal, picked up the laptop and began to make preparations.

There was not much downtime after lunch. After retouching their makeup, Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong started filming again in earnest.

After experiencing an emotional outburst, Jiang Dao didn’t cry so hard this time.

Under the camera, the boy’s crow-like eyelashes trembled, casting a shadow on his cheeks. He bit his lip, his face was pale, but there was a touch of amazing pink at the end of his eyes, accompanied by tears lingering at the edges of his eyelashes, heartbreakingly.

As the two moved closer, Little Gray Wolf’s fingers on Xia Tian’s back suddenly tightened, clenching the thin fabric.

The long eyelashes trembled suddenly, and the tears in the boy’s eyes suddenly rolled down. Then, his lips trembled, and he closed his eyes in despair.

“Cut!”

Director Mu stared at the camera monitor, and a smile finally appeared on his face after being silent for a long time.

“It’s done.”
