ABV Chapter 82.1

Yet another day

The shooting of “Dawn City” soon entered the final stage.

In the final forest battle, the leader of the resistance army, Xia Feng, and Xia Tian used Little Gray Wolf as bait. In the end, they finally annihilated all the chasing forces, rounded up their remaining troops, and finally escaped Dawn City’s sphere of influence.

Standing on the top of the mountain, Xia Tian stared lifelessly at the lush woods to the east.

After a long while, he whispered, “Is it worth the sacrifice? This time we lost, can we win next time? Will there be a day we win?”

Xia Feng stood beside him, but his eyes were farther away.

Xia Tian seemed to be muttering to himself: “We rebelled against Dawn City because we wanted freedom, but isn’t the price too high? Uncle Wu, Xiao Xie, and so many people, they never saw this so-called free world.”

Xia Feng remained silent.

Xia Tian didn’t intend to listen to what he said, and continued on his own: “And Little Gray Wolf, he was actually… loyal to us at the end… I know that if we let him go, those who died because of him… it’s hard for their spirits to rest in peace.”

The silence lasted for a long time.

Xia Tian whispered: “You told me before that people will experience growth three times in their life. The first time is to understand the right and wrong of things; the second time is to understand that some things cannot be grouped into right and wrong; and the third time, after realizing that there is no right or wrong for some things, to remain firm in one’s choice…”

He took a trembling breath, and sighed slowly. “…But, it hurts.”

Xia Feng stayed silent from beginning to end. He didn’t open his mouth, just stood side by side with Xia Tian, silently staying by his side, looking at the newly born rising sun, the sky, and the rising dawn…

Three days later, all studio shots for “Dawn City” were completed, and there was only one final scene of falling into the water that needed to be shot live.

There are not many shots in this scene, which only features Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong. However, because the environment was relatively dangerous, the crew arranged dozens of people to prepare and secure the section of the river for shooting.

The river is located in a mountainous area in southwest China. During pre-production, a team led by Zhu Mei visited the scene.

However, after comparing the script, the post-catastrophic wasteland atmosphere in the script was difficult to integrate with the scenery here, so Director Mu decided to complete most shooting with a green screen. For this river scene, the overall construction of the studio completely simulated the surrounding of the river.

It’s now early July, the wet season. Because of the ups and downs in the mountains, there were many waves and currents in the water.

When Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong arrived at the filming site, staff had already erected two green screens on both sides of the river where they’re filming to block the nearby vegetation that did not match the tone of the film.

The downstream interception nets, traction equipment, and rescue teams were all on standby, and their faces were serious as if they were about to go to the battlefield.

The person in charge of safety and security fastened the inflatable bag under the clothes of Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong, and repeated: “Once you encounter danger, remember to pull this rope. The airbag will inflate instantly. Don’t worry about NG, we can retake as many times as needed. Safety is the top priority!”

Jiang Dao raised his hand and rubbed his ears, looking helplessly at Chu Yinlong.

Chu Yinlong smiled reassuringly at him, and nodded to the person in charge. “Understood, don’t worry.”

After the person in charge of safety finished, Director Mu came to warn them again. It wasn’t until the river inspection team came back after screening the river and determined that there were no major risks underwater that everyone took their place, and the drones took off, ready to start shooting.

This shot is taken after a battlefield scene. Both Xia Tian and Little Gray Wolf are injured, staggering and hugging each other as they roll down the hillside of the river bank.

Chu Yinlong hugged Jiang Dao, rolled down a fake “river bank” wrapped by a green screen, smashed into the rushing water, and was swept away by the currents in an instant.

The drone followed closely behind, and followed from a low altitude to shoot.

In the splashing waves, Chu Yinlong held Jiang Dao’s arm with bated breath, struggling to hold him in the water – in this scene, Little Gray Wolf is seriously injured and in a semi-conscious state, so Jiang Dao had to let go of his instinct to struggle and act unconscious.

Although the plot is thrilling, going down this stretch of the river didn’t take long.

After just ten seconds, the two of them swerved through a river bend with the rushing water, crashed into the soft block, and were pulled back to the shore by the rescuers waiting here.

Jiang Dao waved at the rescuers, but did not take the bath towel handed over by the other party. Instead he took two steps back, and shook his head and limbs to shake the dripping water off his body.

After simply wiping himself, Chu Yinlong took Jiang Dao back upstream.

As soon as they arrived at the filming location, Director Mu shouted to the two of them: “Go to the car to clean up. We have to redo it.”

“What’s the problem?” Chu Yinlong leaned forward to look at the video on the screen.

Director Mu pointed to the screen: “Here, the distance between the two of you is too far. Xiao Dao can’t move, so you have to pay extra attention… I know it’s hard to keep moving in the water, but we may have to redo this a few times for the best shot.”

Chu Yinlong nodded, got into the styling team’s RV with Jiang Dao, changed into another set of dry costumes, re-applied makeup, and started the second shooting.

Falling into the water again, Jiang Dao entered the scene in an instant. His body relaxed naturally, letting the waves and whirlpools swirl him up and down. Chu Yinlong tried his best to drag him, trying to keep the distance between the two of them as close as possible, so as not to be washed away by the current, which would lead to NG again…

Who knows, this time, when passing through the last river bay, Jiang Dao was coincidentally swept under an eddy, and his head hit a rock on the riverbed. Suddenly unable to remain relaxed, he suddenly turned over and took off the inflatable bag from his waist, and floated to the surface.

The next second, the two hit the rescue net one after the other. Jiang Dao grabbed the rope, raised his hand and rubbed his head.

Chu Yinlong took him into his arms and tugged at his hair to check if he was injured.

“Jiang Dao!” The rescuers on the shore were startled when they saw the bright orange airbag in the river, “Are you okay?”

On the shore.

The medical and nursing staff along the coast immediately stepped forward to check. When they found no trauma, everyone was relieved.

It’s just that because of this action, the scene had to be repeated again.

Fortunately, there was no accident in the third shooting, and Mu Zhixing finally got a satisfactory shot.

Director Mu announced that the scene had passed, filming for “Dawn City” was officially completed, and the whole crew immediately cheered.

“Dinner is Director Mu’s treat! A dinner party!”

“On the way here, I saw a restaurant that seemed pretty good…”

“This scenic spot is super beautiful this season, I want to stay and play for two days.”

Filming lasted four months, and Mu Zhixing was naturally happy when things finally wrapped up.

He sent everyone a red envelope with 200 yuan, and greeted everyone with a smile.

Just at this moment, Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong came back from the lower banks. Chu Yinlong smiled and said, “Director Mu, we came so far away to film, why don’t you invite everyone to play for two days?”

“And just leave the equipment here?” Director Mu glared at him.

Of course, the equipment had to be sent back, but some people wanted to take money and go home to their wives and children, while others wanted to play outside with friends. The logistics crew immediately got busy, surveyed the crew, and divided them into two groups.

Originally, Chu Yinlong wanted to take Jiang Dao out to play and relax after filming “Dawn City”. However, the time was unfortunate. Filming just wrapped up when the trailer for “Operation Red Owl” was released.

This trailer mainly focuses on the police’s perspective, mixed with several thrilling action scenes for visual impact. Wei Jie played by Chu Yinlong is the absolute and only protagonist. Jiang Dao didn’t have any special scenes in this trailer, as if marginalized like a passerby in the crowd.

So, on Weibo, Jiang Dao’s black fans seem to usher in a new spring.

“I told you he’s too troublesome, Chu Yinlong will definitely not like him. Look, if you don’t have any strength and just rely on your face to hug thighs, you’ll be seen through one day [eat melon.jpg]”

“Reply: I also think that Chu Yinlong was deceived by him.”

“Reply: Even if his face looks good, his identity as the Qin family’s illegitimate child is troublesome. I support the crew in deleting his role [smile]”

“What about the people who boasted about goblin Jiang’s acting skills before? Oops, why are you guys missing? [smile]”

“Reply: After eating the melon from the Qin family recently, I thought he would definitely be banned.”

“Reply: Hehe, in the previous battle, I thought that Jiang Dao would be some leading actor, but when I looked at the cast list, ha, this also counts as a role? I’m afraid even if all his scenes are deleted, it won’t affect the plot of the movie, right?”

Who knew, this “spring” was really short.

In the morning, the trailer for “Operation Red Owl” was released, and in the afternoon, Mu Zhixing Studio announced the completion of his new film, releasing the title of “Dawn City” and the cast list – Chu Yinlong and Jiang Dao stood side by side in “starring” position.

Jiang Dao fans who were suppressed all morning immediately rose up, and rushed to fight back against those black fans.

“Our Xiao Dao is busy filming with Teacher Chu, so I don’t have time to talk to you guys!”

“Jiang Dao: I was filming with the actor Chu [goodbye]”

“Hahahaha, this car overturned so unexpectedly! Jiang Dao is a real kung fu expert. The shot is firm and ruthless, the throat is directly locked, and there is no room to escape [doge]”

Soon after, Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong’s Weibo had two more contents. One is to forward the trailer of “Operation Red Owl”, and remind them of the release on July 30. The other one is commemorating the completion of “Dawn City” with an accompanying photo sent to them by the studio for publicity.

The LongDao CP group exploded.

Although the theme and plot of “Dawn City” are not yet known, it did not prevent them from celebrating – there are only two leading actors, and they are both male. No matter how the story is told, they can eat CP! If they’re friends or allies, that’s easy; if they’re enemies, they can love and kill each other.

“It’ll be released next summer vacation? Do we have to wait a year! Can you guys work in three shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and release it for me!!!”

“I can’t wait any longer [crying] [crying]”

“I hope to wake up and find out that it’s not summer next year! I don’t want one year of life! I want to eat CP!”

“Forget about Dawn City, 7.30 is there a sister who wants to see the release of Red Owl?”

“Reply: Yes!”

Filming for Dawn City is finally finished
