ABV Chapter 82.2

Yet another day

The next morning, when fans were still excited about the official announcement of the release of “Operation Red Owl” later this month, Jiang Dao, who thought filming was finished and could finally rest well, was ruthlessly dug out of the bed by Chu Yinlong.

“I’m sleepy…” Jiang Dao clung to the edge of the mattress. “…Sleep for another five minutes.”

“Who told you to stay up in the middle of the night?” Chu Yinlong was torn between anger and humor. “You promised to do this interview yourself… Get up quickly!”

In fact, according to the habits from the battlefield for many years, Jiang Dao was no longer sleepy when he was woken up. But he just wanted to stay in bed, and test if Chu Yinlong would allow him.

As it turned out, Father Long was Father Long, and a strict father when it comes to children’s discipline.

After washing up and having breakfast in the car, the two rushed to the studio to do makeup and hair.

The host for the interviews had already arrived, and after waiting for about ten minutes, Chu Yinlong invited her into the recording room.

This interview is to promote “Operation Red Owl”. The host will interview several important figures separately, including Chu Yinlong, and then upload it onto the official Red Owl account after editing.

Chu Yinlong originally thought that Jiang Dao would not like this kind of propaganda work, and only invited him symbolically. Who knew, Jiang Dao readily agreed.

Hence the scene of dragging someone out of bed this morning.

The interviews are done separately. Chu Yinlong has the longest interview time, while Jiang Dao, as a small supporting role, will only be asked a few questions. Questions are prepared beforehand, and he also discussed how to answer them with Chu Yinlong last night to avoid being embarrassed on the spot.

Jiang Dao sat behind the cameras and gained an understanding of this type of talk show from watching Chu Yinlong’s interview.

After talking about a few issues related to the movie, the host changed the subject and asked with a smile: “We can see that in “Operation Red Owl”, in addition to several actors who have worked with you many times, you also used two newcomers. What would you say about the two young actors, Jing Yu and Jiang Dao?”

“Jing Yu and Jiang Dao are both good new-generation actors, and I am very optimistic about them.” Chu Yinlong replied with his usual business smile. “Compared to his previous works, Jing Yu has progressed a lot. He will definitely occupy a place in the film and television circle in the future.”

Speaking of this, he paused, and his smile deepened a fraction.

“As for Jiang Dao, he doesn’t come from an acting background. I first liked him because he could fight.” He laughed. “But he brought me… a lot of surprises.”

The host expanded the question at the right time: “What kind of surprises?”

“He doesn’t actually have any skills in acting, but he is very spiritual. In some scenes, there’s hardly any trace of his performance, and he can fully enter a role, experience the character’s emotions, and interpret it.”

Speaking of Jiang Dao, Chu Yinlong did not hesitate to praise: “This is a very precious talent, and I also believe that he can continue honing this talent and turn it into real acting skills.”

“As for ‘being able to endure hardships’ and ‘working hard’,” Chu Yinlong smiled again. “These are necessary qualities to be a qualified actor. As long as he continues, he will have the opportunity to grow into a better actor… I’m looking forward to it. “

After all the questions were asked, the standard guest question portion of the interview started.

The staff handed over a lottery box and asked Chu Yinlong to draw three questions asked by netizens. Of course, these questions were all screened and would not contain any sensitive content or questions that the interviewee was unwilling to answer.

The first item that Chu Yinlong drew: “Will we see Chu Yingdi participating in variety shows in the future?”

“Uh, it should… Yes.” Chu Yinlong looked at the camera. “I didn’t participate in variety shows before in order to focus on filming. However, after participating in two variety shows recently, I think they’re quite interesting, so I’ll consider them appropriately in the future.”

The host immediately applauded happily. “Wow, then I really want to represent the audience and say  we’re so happy! Everyone is looking forward to Teacher Chu’s performance in the next variety show!”

The second item: “When is Brother Long going to fall in love?”

Chu Yinlong couldn’t help laughing when he saw this sentence.

“I won’t find a girlfriend.” He looked at the camera with a serious face.

The host asked with a smile, “Is this a flag?”

Chu Yinlong smiled and shook his head, but didn’t answer.

The third item:  “Why is Father Long so nice to Xiao Dao?”

Chu Yinlong showed this question to the camera, and then asked the host: “I remember that you can broadcast extras in this show?”

Seeing the host nod, he replied with a smile: “Because of the grace of saving my life.”

Disclosing their relationship on this show is too risky – this was the consensus they reached when they were preparing for the Q&A last night. When encountering this kind of problem, it is better to reply half-jokingly, half-truthfully, for the time being.

As for the rest, the story of that “half an apple” which convinced the entire crew will certainly convince most of the audience.

Next, it was Jiang Dao’s turn.

The questions prepared for the interview program basically revolved around the movie and the characters themselves. Jiang Dao answered them step by step according to what he prepared last night.

Then, he drew lots to answer questions from netizens.

Item 1: “Xiaodao, why are you so closed1as in rarely post on Weibo? Do you dare to post a nine-square grid selfie?!”

Jiang Dao: …

Showing the question note to the camera, Jiang Dao replied grimly: “I don’t dare.”

Item 2: “If you fight seriously, can you beat Father Long?”

Jiang Dao: …

The real person is watching from the side, so it’s not convenient for him to talk nonsense. He could only admit: “I will win one day.”

Item 3: “With what sentence does Father Long scold you the most?”

Jiang Dao: …

Looking at this question, Jiang Dao suddenly thought of something and couldn’t help laughing out loud. Chu Yinlong’s fans really know their Father Long. They don’t ask if he’s been scolded, and instead directly ask what he’s scolded most.

Jiang Dao glanced at Chu Yinlong who was standing next to the cameras, cleared his throat, and pretended to be serious: “What he scolded me the most is ‘You really don’t know what’s good2It’s an idiom that roughly scolds someone as not knowing what’s appropriate/good, or knowing good from bad‘.”

Chu Yinlong: …

He has indeed scolded him with this sentence many times, but it was never on set… How can he share the nonsense spoken on the bed?

Looks like the misbehaving kid needs to be cleaned up again.

After the interview, Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong had nothing to do.

Thinking of the question just mentioned, Jiang Dao hooked his finger towards Chu Yinlong. “It’s been a long time since we fought, why don’t we go to the gym?”

Chu Yinlong raised his eyebrows and readily agreed.

The two of them changed into their workout clothes kept at the studio, and went downstairs side by side.

Jiang Dao now longer resists promotional activities or entering the public eye. After Chu Yinlong asked for his opinion, he called Xiao Yang over to help record a video of them sparring to satisfy Jiang Dao’s fans complaint.

Unexpectedly, there were several others in the gym at this time, so the private appointment turned into a semi-open exhibition match in the studio. There were even volunteer judges.

Fortunately, Jiang Dao and Chu Yinlong didn’t care much.

The two warmed up, stepped into the arena, and soon began to test each other.

Jiang Dao has not learned any beautiful tricks. When acting, he will follow the stunt master’s guidance, but when a fight really starts, all kinds of wild ways of attacking will appear.

Chu Yinlong was already familiar with Jiang Dao’s style. He deftly avoided the knees targeting his weak spot, counterattacked, and pressed Jiang Dao to the ground.

The latter broke quickly free, rubbed his shoulders, and blinked at Chu Yinlong.

After a few rounds of back and forth, the fight became fierce.

Jiang Dao lost too much weight to film “Dawn City”, and hasn’t had time to make up for it. The lack of strength and physical weakness slowly became obvious.

“I give up and admit defeat!” Jiang Dao didn’t have any burden to surrender. Before the referee finished counting the seconds, he patted the floor and gave up. “Just wait until I get back in shape, I will definitely win once!”

After sparring, the two rushed to the gym bathroom. By the time they got out of the shower, the assistant had already edited the short video that was just shot.

“Is it going to be shared today?” Jiang Dao asked after receiving the edited video. “Will it be too soon?”

“Just post it.” Chu Yinlong smiled. “The premiere will be in a few days, and the movie will be released soon. The interviews should be released within a week, so it’s not too early.”

Jiang Dao nodded, edited the sentence “Yet another day of being up to no good”, and posted the video to Weibo.

Chu Yinlong watched him type and couldn’t help laughing.

Jiang Dao was also happy. He raised his eyebrows and squinted at Chu Yinlong. “Yes, I just don’t know what’s good, does Teacher Chu want to clean me up?”

He also reacted later. Him revealing that Chu Yinlong scolded him for not knowing what’s good might be mistaken by others as Chu Yinlong being too harsh on set and so on.

In today’s practice session, Chu Yinlong also said this, so it’s a good smoke bomb.

Thinking of the real source of the phrase, Chu Yinlong leaned into Jiang Dao’s ear and lowered his voice: “I’ll take care of you when we go home.”

Jiang Dao’s eyes suddenly lit up: “Then let’s go home!”
