IWHBDR Chapter 20

Shen Huaixiu’s T-shirt was large and carried his scent. After taking a bath and applying rose-scented body lotion, Rong Shu stood in front of the glass counter. He reached out to wipe away the steam from the mirror and saw a young man in the reflection with rosy lips and white teeth. Due to the recent bath, a faint pink hue was visible on his fair skin, making him look even more attractive. The cat ears on his head, still damp from not being fully dried, had a slightly pitiful and wet appearance.

Rong Shu glanced down at the black T-shirt he had brought with him. It was the first time he had ever worn someone else’s clothing and the thought that it was something Shen Huaixiu had worn made his cheeks flush uncontrollably, a sense of awkward shyness welling up inside him.

It felt too intimate.

But he wasn’t planning to back down.

Slipping on the black T-shirt, the oversized garment enveloped him, making him feel as though he were being held in someone else’s arms, which caused his face to redden even more.

He wasn’t sure if it was due to the high temperature of the bathroom, but the scent of Shen Huaixiu that originally lingered on the shirt seemed to intensify, the dangerous and bloody undertone becoming more potent.

The stimulation made the young man’s cheeks grow even rosier.

Rong Shu gently bit the corner of his lip, his dark eyes appearing misty and glossy as if a layer of fog had settled in them.

An indescribable heat spread through his body and the glands on the back of his neck began to itch and burn. Rong Shu raised a hand to press down on the swollen and throbbing glands, his eyes reflecting a look of suppressed restraint. He opened the door and stepped out barefoot, walking over to his desk. He pulled out the bottom drawer, revealing a small refrigerator inside. Opening it, he found a row of O-type inhibitors neatly lined up.

He popped open the cap of one and, without hesitation, injected himself with it. The moment the inhibitor entered his system, the tingling sensation of susceptibility caused him to stifle a groan, his teeth sinking into his lower lip to keep the sound trapped in his mouth.

A minute later, the inhibitor began to take effect. The heat within Rong Shu’s body subsided and the swollen gland returned to calm, as if nothing had ever happened—except for the lingering sweet scent of roses that still filled the air.

Rong Shu tidied up the things on the floor, got up, turned on the ventilation, and then opened a bottle of air-purifying spray. He sprayed it around the room until the rose scent was replaced by the cool fragrance of mint.

After administering the inhibitor, his body felt exhausted. Once everything was cleaned up, Rong Shu climbed into bed and hugged the blanket as he fell asleep.

Shen Huaixiu emerged from the training room, his forehead still damp with sweat that hadn’t fully evaporated. He glanced at the time—thirty minutes until lights out, enough time to get back.

“Huaixiu, are you coming again tomorrow?” The door, which had just been closed, was pushed open again. An Alpha in his early twenties, who bore a resemblance to Shen Huaixiu, came out and asked as he handed over a chilled bottle of water.

Shen Huaixiu reached out to take it, twisted it open, and took a sip before replying in a deep voice, “We’ll see.”

Shen Huaiqiu1I double-checked and it really is Shen Huaiqiu. Both have the same 2 characters in their name and differ only on the 3rd character. Shen Huaixiu is 沈淮修, while Shen Huaiqiu is 沈淮秋 nodded. “Are you getting used to it here? Do you need any help from me?”

“You should take care of yourself first!” Shen Huaixiu waved at Shen Huaiqiu before turning to walk back to school.

All the Shen family’s children were raised with a free hand; they bore the consequences of their actions, whether good or bad. His older brothers had done it this way, so there was no reason he couldn’t handle it. Besides, the environment now was much better than it had been in the past.

Shen Huaiqiu stood on the steps, watching his youngest brother leave, and sighed softly—still so boring.

Since he had missed the time when the school gates were open, Shen Huaixiu had no choice but to climb over the wall to avoid punishment. As he jumped down from the wall and walked towards the dormitory building, he noticed a black Audi parked at the entrance. Not long after, a tall Alpha got out of the car.

Perhaps sensing Shen Huaixiu’s gaze, the two of them locked eyes for a brief moment.

But Shen Huaixiu quickly looked away and stepped into the dormitory building.

Standing in the distance, Ma Sen frowned. In that split second, he felt as if he had been stared at by a fierce beast, sending a chill down his spine.

“When did a high-level Alpha like that start attending Federal No. 1 Middle School?”

When Shen Huaixiu returned to the dormitory, he noticed that the lights were still on, and an inexplicable warmth surged in his heart.

As he pushed the door open, Shen Huaixiu paused, instinctively looking towards the boy sleeping on the bed, wrapped in a blanket. The faint scent of roses lingered in the air, different from the smell of rose essential oil.

However, his surprise at the scent was quickly replaced by shock when he noticed the clothes Rong Shu was wearing.

The boy was lying with his back to him. Due to his sleeping position, the hem of his shirt had ridden up slightly, revealing a pair of slender, fair legs, along with underwear patterned with red strawberries.

The completely defenseless appearance caused the tall and aloof Alpha standing by the door to unconsciously blush at the tips of his ears. He quickly averted his gaze, restraining himself, and reached back to turn off the light.

Shen Huaixiu twisted open the bottle of cold water in his hand, tilting his head back to drink half of it before placing it on the table. He then retrieved a fresh T-shirt from the wardrobe and headed towards the bathroom.

As he opened the bathroom door, the faint scent of roses became even more pronounced than it had been in the room, causing his throat to tighten involuntarily. Shen Huaixiu’s grip on the door handle tightened, his knuckles turning slightly pale.

Closing the door behind him, Shen Huaixiu once again adjusted the water temperature to cold and took a cold shower.

Meanwhile, the boy, fast asleep, remained completely unaware. As he shifted to lie on his back, the hem of his T-shirt rolled up further, revealing a small patch of his fair stomach.

The next morning, Rong Shu woke up and, as usual, searched for any sign of Shen Huaixiu, even though he knew he wouldn’t be there.

As expected, after looking around, there wasn’t a trace of him. Rong Shu sat up, ruffling his sleep-mussed hair, and got out of bed. When his feet touched the floor, his eyes caught sight of a note on the desk.

Without bothering to put on his shoes, he walked over and grabbed the note. It read: “Went for a morning run. I’ll bring you breakfast.”

Upon seeing the word “breakfast”, Rong Shu’s eyes curved into a smile, his heart filling with a sweet warmth.

Shen Huaixiu was going to bring him breakfast!

After quickly washing up, Rong Shu changed clothes and looked at the black T-shirt he was wearing. He suddenly remembered that he had gone to bed too early the night before and had forgotten to see Shen Huaixiu’s reaction to him wearing this shirt. But the thought of Shen Huaixiu bringing him breakfast made him instantly happy again. It didn’t matter; if he missed it yesterday, he could just wear it again today. ^_^

Leaving the dormitory, Rong Shu couldn’t help but quicken his pace as he headed toward the teaching building. It was the first time he felt such an eagerness to go to school.

As he reached the last step, the smile that had been forming on his lips vanished the moment he saw the person standing at the entrance of Class 2-3.

“Xu Shu,” Ma Sen called out as he noticed him, taking a step toward Rong Shu. His emerald green eyes glinted with greed as he looked at him. “Long time no see. You still look as tempting as ever!”

Though he didn’t raise his voice, the last sentence was loud enough for Rong Shu to hear.

Hearing his words, Rong Shu’s good mood instantly turned gloomy.

What a way to ruin his morning. Real classy.

Rong Shu forced a smile as if amused by what Ma Sen had said, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. Just as Ma Sen was momentarily distracted by that smile, he heard two words: “Idiot!”

He abruptly stopped in his tracks, trying to make sure he hadn’t misheard, but by that time, Rong Shu had already ignored him and turned into the classroom without giving him another glance.

As he walked in, the previously noisy classroom fell silent. Chen Jing instinctively stood up and asked the approaching Rong Shu, “Are you okay?”

Rong Shu pulled a smile and extended his hand to Shen Huaixiu, who was sitting there. “Hey, deskmate, where’s my breakfast?”

Chen Jing: “…”

I’m worried about you, and all you care about is breakfast?!

Author’s note:

Rong Shu: “Hey, deskmate, hurry and feed me!”
