“Did Ma Jinyan really come to apologize?” On the way back after school, Chen Jing asked as he listened to Rong Shu talk about the incident. “Last time, after you beat up his brother like that, his family didn’t even send anyone. They just donated a building to the school to smooth things over. Why did he suddenly come to apologize this time?”
Rong Shu curled his lips into a smile, recalling the look Ma Jinyan gave him. It seemed that Ma Sen wasn’t completely clueless and had figured out a few things after their interactions.
“Maybe he suddenly grew a conscience and was worried that if this keeps up, his little brother might get beaten to death one day.”
“You’re still in the mood to joke around? I really don’t think it’s that simple!” Chen Jing looked absolutely certain, prompting Rong Shu to raise his hand and pat his head. “I didn’t know our Xiao Jing had a talent for being a detective. In that case, I’ll leave it to you to uncover the truth!”
Chen Jing swatted away the hand messing up his hair, now sporting a tousled look. “You should at least have some sense of crisis! Never mind, I’m done with you.”
As Chen Jing stormed off in a huff, the smile in Rong Shu’s eyes faded. The Ma family was really irritating!
Back at the dormitory, Rong Shu took a shower and came out wearing Shen Huaixiu’s black T-shirt. Just then, the phone he had casually tossed on the table began buzzing. Picking it up and seeing the caller ID, Rong Shu smiled and answered, cheerfully calling out, “Dad!”
“Xiao Shu, how’s school?”
“It’s going well, Dad.”
“That’s good to hear. A few days ago, I sent out the invitations for this year’s Beast Coming-of-Age Celebration. I’ve done the calculations; do you still have enough inhibitors?”
Hearing his Dad mention the invitations, Rong Shu’s eyes darkened for a moment before he replied with a smile, “I still have a few doses left, which should last until the holidays. You don’t need to worry, Dad.”
“You’re an adult now. For the Rong family’s male Omegas, the effectiveness of inhibitors decreases with each use after reaching adulthood. Don’t take this lightly. When necessary, don’t hesitate to break the agreements between families. If there’s an Alpha you fancy, let him help you out, understand?”
“Understood, Dad.”
“Have you found someone you like? If you have, you can bring him home during the holidays.”
Hearing the curious tone in his Dad’s voice, Rong Shu felt his cheeks heat up. “Mm, there is someone.”
“Really? Then I’m relieved. If necessary, let him give you a bite.”
“Dad, aren’t you even going to ask what he’s like before entrusting me to him?”
“I know you well enough. If he were ordinary, he wouldn’t catch your eye. Alright, stop playing coy with me. But if you’re too shy, I’ll have your brother send you something in a few days.”
“What kind of something?”
“You’ll find out then. Alright, take care of yourself at school. If any families without good sense give you trouble, don’t tolerate it. The Rong family isn’t afraid of anyone.”
“I understand, Dad!”
After hanging up the phone, Rong Shu turned his head to look at Shen Huaixiu’s bed. Right after school, Shen Huaixiu had mentioned he had something to do and didn’t come back with them. Rong Shu wondered why he was always so busy.
Resting his chin on his arms for a while, Rong Shu eventually stood up, found some clothes, changed, and left the dormitory.
It was too boring being alone in the dorm.

Shen Huaiqiu handed a bottle of water to the person coming down from the ring. “Did Father say he sent you the invitation?”
Shen Huaixiu took the water but didn’t drink it, casually placing it to the side. He grabbed a towel nearby and wiped the sweat from his head. “Do you want it?”
“If I wanted it, it wouldn’t be going to you!” Shen Huaiqiu sat down next to him and opened the water bottle for him. “I’m just saying. While the Rong family’s male Omega is impressive, not everyone can handle them. If you’re not serious, there’s no need to waste time. Our family doesn’t have such strict rules. Father sent it to you because you’re the same age as him. Don’t overthink it or let it become a burden.”
“You’re the one overthinking it.” Shen Huaixiu reached out, took the opened water, and drank a sip.
“Alright, as long as you know what you’re doing,” Shen Huaiqiu said just as the door’s wind chime rang. He turned his head and saw a young man with cat ears walk in.
His eyes lit up as he stood up with a smile. “Welcome! Want to spar?”
Rong Shu had originally planned to wander around the busy streets, but he happened to see the new boxing gym that Chen Jing had mentioned earlier. Curiosity led him inside, and to his surprise, he spotted Shen Huaixiu sitting on the sofa.
Shen Huaixiu had clearly just finished working out; the bangs on his forehead were still damp, and his usually pale, sharp features had a hint of redness, making him look less aloof.
“So, this is where you were!” Rong Shu was just as surprised to see him there. He walked over and said, “What brought you here?”
“You two know each other?” Shen Huaiqiu’s eyes brightened. It was the first time he had seen his usually indifferent brother react so animatedly.
“I’m his deskmate and roommate. My name is Xu Shu.” Rong Shu looked at Shen Huaixiu with a smile in his eyes. “I thought you had something important to do, but it turns out you came here to box.”
“This is my second brother, Shen Huaiqiu.”
After Shen Huaixiu introduced him, Rong Shu’s eyes filled with surprise, and the cat ears on his head twitched. “Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too. You two chat, I’ll go get some fruit.”
“No need to trouble yourself, I was just…” Rong Shu started to say, but Shen Huaiqiu patted Shen Huaixiu on the shoulder and left.
“I was just passing by and got curious, so I came in for a look. I didn’t expect to see you here.” And to find out that you have this connection with the gym owner, he thought to himself.
Does this count as meeting the family?
“Mm, do you want to spar for a bit?” Shen Huaixiu asked, pointing to the empty ring in the back. Rong Shu’s eyes lit up. “Can I?”
Shen Huaixiu nodded, “I’ll take you to change clothes.”
Rong Shu followed Shen Huaixiu into the changing room. Shen Huaixiu opened a locker and took out a clean set of clothes. “You can wear mine for now. Is that alright?”
“Sure,” Rong Shu replied, reaching out to take the clothes and thanking him as he did.
“It’s nothing. Go ahead and change; I’ll wait for you outside.”
When Shen Huaiqiu came out with a platter of fruit, he saw Shen Huaixiu standing outside the changing room. “Where is he?”
“He’s inside, changing.”
“Is he going to spar? I have some new boxing gear,” Shen Huaiqiu said, about to go get it, but Shen Huaixiu stopped him by grabbing his arm. “No need. He’s wearing mine.”
Shen Huaiqiu chuckled at this, “Since when are you willing to share your stuff with others?”
“It was convenient,” Shen Huaixiu replied, his expression unchanged as he looked at Shen Huaiqiu. If it weren’t for the evidence of his actions, Shen Huaiqiu might have believed his brother’s serious demeanor.
“I thought I saw that he might be an Alpha.”
“He is an Alpha.”
“So, you…”
“I’m done,” Rong Shu said, pulling aside the curtain and stepping out. Upon seeing Shen Huaiqiu, he immediately and obediently greeted, “Second Brother, I’m going to spar with him for a bit.”
“Alright, go ahead. Huaixiu, go easy on him.”
“No need, I’m not that delicate!” Rong Shu said as he followed Shen Huaixiu up to the ring.
Shen Huaixiu’s boxing gear was a bit large, making Rong Shu appear even more petite.
“I’m going to start now,” Rong Shu announced. Before the words fully left his mouth, he had already kicked out. Unfortunately, the swift Alpha blocked the kick with ease, but Rong Shu immediately followed up with a second kick…
Shen Huaiqiu, standing below the ring, watched the sparring with a look of surprise. His impression of Rong Shu, who initially seemed a bit weak for an Alpha, began to change.
This little guy is quite skilled.
And good-looking too, though it’s a pity he’s an Alpha.
His gaze shifted to Shen Huaixiu, and his eyes darkened slightly. He took out his phone, recorded a short video of the match, and sent it to their eldest brother:
⌈Shen Huaiqiu: Video!⌋
⌈Shen Huaian1沈淮安. Still the same situation, similar 2 characters but differs on the 3rd character.: Who’s the person sparring with our little brother?⌋
⌈Shen Huaiqiu: His deskmate and his roommate. The kid’s not only good-looking but can fight too.⌋
⌈Shen Huaian: Get to the point!⌋
⌈Shen Huaiqiu: The point is, our little brother seems to have a special interest in him. However, the kid is an Alpha.⌋
⌈Shen Huaian: Does our little brother like him?⌋
⌈Shen Huaiqiu: I didn’t say that.⌋
⌈Shen Huaian: Let’s talk when he actually does.⌋
⌈Shen Huaiqiu: …⌋
After several rounds of sparring, Rong Shu could clearly feel his stamina waning. As an Omega, neither his muscle strength nor his endurance could compare to an Alpha’s. His fair face, now flushed from the exertion, was covered with a light sheen of sweat, and beads of sweat trickled down his temples.
“I’m tired. I need to take a break…” Shen Huaixiu hadn’t finished speaking when he saw his opponent lunging at him. After dodging, he heard, “You can still keep going, don’t hold back!”
Seeing Rong Shu’s persistence, Shen Huaixiu’s eyes revealed a hint of admiration. “Don’t worry, I won’t hold back.”
“That’s good.” With that, Rong Shu launched another attack, but his foot slipped, causing him to lose his balance. Shen Huaixiu instinctively reached out to catch him, but they both ended up tumbling off the ring.
At the moment they hit the ground, Rong Shu didn’t feel the expected pain. Instead, his lips felt unexpectedly soft…
