After soaking in the hot springs, the sun had already set halfway in the sky. Shen Huaixiu had left halfway through for some business. When Rong Shu returned to his room after his soak, he saw clothes on the bed and couldn’t help but smile, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
As he came down from upstairs, Uncle Cheng smiled and said, “Young Master is waiting for you in the garden.”
“Should I go by myself?”
“Atuo is waiting outside for you.”
“Thank you, Uncle Cheng. I understand.”
When Rong Shu stepped out of the villa, he saw Atuo with a strawberry bell hanging around its neck. Upon seeing him, Atuo dropped a rose from its mouth into his hand.
Rong Shu reached out to pet its big head. “What has Shen Huaixiu prepared?”
Atuo tilted its head and bleated, then trotted ahead, glancing back at him to signal him to follow.
It was already getting dark and the streetlights in the vast estate lit up. Rong Shu followed Atuo along the stone path, passing through an arched gate. There, he saw a dining table set on a flat patch of grass, surrounded by flowers and balloons filled with a romantic atmosphere.
Behind a piano that had been missing for a while, the Alpha was playing.
He had always thought of this Alpha as simply dressed, but now he had changed out of his T-shirt and jeans into a black suit. As he approached, the music came to an end and he stood up to walk toward him.
Rong Shu smiled, his beautiful peach blossom eyes fixed on him from the moment they met.
Shen Huaixiu felt a bit nervous. He had actually prepared for this moment for quite a while, planning what to say and do, but at this moment, he felt like none of that mattered.
He walked over and stopped.
“Can you guess what I’m going to do next?”
Rong Shu nodded. “I think I’ve guessed it.”
Shen Huaixiu’s eyes softened. “Well, you mentioned confessing, so I’d like to leave the proposal opportunity to myself, is that okay?”
“Whether or not it’s okay, you’ve already done it.” Rong Shu walked closer, leaning into the Alpha’s embrace. “So why aren’t you hurrying?”
Shen Huaixiu smiled and nodded. When Atuo saw him raise his hand, it trotted over, delivering a small flower basket in its mouth to him.
“Make sure to kneel on one knee!”
Rong Shu took a step forward to look at him. Shen Huaixiu held the ring box and kneeled on one knee. “Will you marry me, Rong Shu? I want to be by your side every day in the future, to protect you. Can you give me this chance?”
Rong Shu reached out his hand. “Yes, yes, yes! Hurry up and put it on me!”
He eagerly pulled Shen Huaixiu up, his face filled with joy. Shen Huaixiu looked at the cat ears on Rong Shu’s head, swaying excitedly, and smiled as he cupped his face and kissed him. “Are you that eager to bond with me?”
Rong Shu wrapped his arms around his neck. “If you don’t hurry, our little ones might run away.”
Shen Huaixiu paused for a moment before bursting into laughter.
Lowering his gaze, he slipped the ring onto Rong Shu’s finger. “Mine.”
Rong Shu took another ring from the box and put it on him. “You’re mine too.”
The originally romantic proposal somehow turned a bit humorous. Despite that, Rong Shu was overjoyed.
Dinner was served in the garden, this time with red wine and steak, creating an atmosphere full of romance.
After just one glass of red wine, Rong Shu’s face started to flush.
By the end, he was like a drunken cat, snuggling in Shen Huaixiu’s arms, mumbling, “You proposed but didn’t give me a mark! That’s just playing around!”
Shen Huaixiu hugged him, a smile at the corner of his lips. “Are you sure that if I mark you now, you’ll remember the process tomorrow?”
Rong Shu rubbed his head against him, his soft cat ears making Shen Huaixiu’s heart soften. He leaned down to kiss the gland on Rong Shu’s neck. “Do you really want it?”
When the sensitive spot was touched, Rong Shu instinctively shrank back. “It tickles!”
“Aren’t you the one who wants to be marked? But now you’re afraid of tickles. What will you do if it hurts a little later? You’re too delicate.”
“I want to be marked, but I don’t want it to hurt.”
Rong Shu pouted, feeling completely soft.
Shen Huaixiu picked him up and headed toward the room.
When Uncle Cheng saw them, he hurried over. “What happened?”
“It’s nothing, he’s drunk. I’ll take him upstairs to rest. Thank you today, Uncle Cheng. He’s very happy.”
“As long as he’s happy, that’s good. Do you need me to prepare some hangover soup?”
“Let him sleep today; let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
“Okay, call me if you need anything.”
“Alright, Uncle Cheng, you should rest too.”
After bringing Rong Shu back to the room and placing him on the bed, he tugged at his shirt collar uncomfortably, then opened his eyes to drowsily look at Shen Huaixiu, smiling as he said, “You proposed to me today, Shen Huaixiu, so you’re mine now.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he reached out to pull Shen Huaixiu down, turning to nestle in his arms, contentedly closing his eyes.
Shen Huaixiu lay in bed for a while, listening to the even breathing of the little Omega in his arms. He couldn’t help but chuckle as he laid him back down on the bed, fetched a towel to wipe his face and hands, and gently poked his little nose. “I thought you were going to do something, but it turns out it was just a lot of noise with little action.”
Leaning in, he kissed him softly. “Goodnight.”
The next morning, Rong Shu woke up and quickly reached back to feel the nape of his neck—everything was as it should be, with no changes at all.
After such a great atmosphere last night, Shen Huaixiu surprisingly managed not to bite him.
As the sound of water from the bathroom stopped, Shen Huaixiu emerged and immediately met Rong Shu’s resentful gaze.
Before he could speak, he heard Rong Shu, sitting on the bed and clutching the blanket, say, “Shen Huaixiu, are you not capable?!”
Being questioned so early in the morning, Shen Huaixiu was at a loss for words.
Rong Shu tossed aside the blanket and walked over, slightly raising his chin. “If you’re capable, then why didn’t you bite me last night when the atmosphere was so good? Hmm, is it because I’m not fragrant enough?”
“You were asleep.”
“Hmm?” Rong Shu blinked, seeming to hear something strange.
“You fell asleep after drinking a glass of red wine and snuggled in my arms, completely content.”
Shen Huaixiu watched as Rong Shu’s expression changed with every word he said, reaching out to pinch his cat ears. “Do you remember now?”
Rong Shu shook his head. “But you could have woken me up!”
“I couldn’t bear to.”
Just those simple four words made Rong Shu’s heart melt.
He let out a playful “Aww” and pounced on Shen Huaixiu, saying, “How about now? Let’s make up for what we missed yesterday.”
“There’s a sports meet today. Are you sure?”
Shen Huaixiu wrapped his arms around him and asked softly.
Rong Shu almost forgot about the sports meet, but then he called out, “Definitely tonight, for sure!”
“Alright.” Shen Huaixiu smiled and pinched his cat ears. “Go wash up; Uncle Cheng has breakfast ready. After eating, we’ll head to the venue.”
As they came down from upstairs, Uncle Cheng smiled and said, “Young Master Rong, I specially prepared some hangover soup for you. Drink it and you won’t have a headache.”
Hearing the word “hangover” made him uncomfortable, as drinking just one glass had cost him the chance to be marked. What a huge mistake!
“Thank you, Uncle Cheng.”
But he couldn’t let the old man’s kindness go to waste, so he obediently drank the hangover soup and said to Shen Huaixiu, who was seated: “I’m never drinking again.”
Shen Huaixiu chuckled, “It’s fine to drink a little.”
“No, I won’t drink at all, not even a sip.” With his tolerance, he might as well stick to pineapple beer.
Other alcoholic drinks might get him tipsy after just one sip.
When they arrived at the sports meet venue, it wasn’t too early. Hearing the screams coming from inside, Rong Shu tied his loose school uniform. “It seems like some events have already started.”
“Yeah, but there’s no rush. Our two events start around ten. We still have half an hour.”
As Shen Huaixiu got out of the car, he naturally took Rong Shu’s hand and walked in.
“How do you know so much about it?”
“Jiang Huan showed me the schedule.”
“Ha, your little brother is doing well.”
As they entered the venue, Chen Jing immediately rushed over upon seeing Rong Shu. “You guys finally made it! I thought you’d forgotten.”
“Forget? That’s impossible.” Rong Shu plopped down beside him. Chen Jing stole a glance at Shen Huaixiu sitting next to him. “Have you been with him the past few days?”
Rong Shu tilted his head, smiling. “Classmate Jing, feel free to ask anything you want to know. I’ll answer honestly!”
Chen Jing hesitated. “Then, where are you two now?”
“He proposed to me yesterday and I said yes. Look, the ring!” Rong Shu raised his hand to show the ring on his ring finger.
Chen Jing: “…”
He knew they wouldn’t be slow, but he didn’t expect them to be this fast.
“Isn’t it too quick?”
“Too quick? I could just about give birth to Zai Zai right now!”
“What Zai Zai? You can’t give birth; you’re an Alpha.” Chen Jing thought Rong Shu must have gone a bit silly since falling in love.
“Oh, I forgot; you still don’t know.” Rong Shu was so happy he completely forgot that Chen Jing didn’t know he was an Omega.
“What don’t I know?”
“I’ll tell you after the sports meet.”
As his only good friend, Chen Jing had the right to know that he was an Omega after Shen Huaixiu.
Rong Shu patted his shoulder and stood up. “I’m going to the bathroom.”
“I’ll go with you.” Shen Huaixiu started to get up, but Rong Shu pressed him back down. “You two stay put. I’m just going to the bathroom; no need for a group. I’ll be back quickly.”
After Rong Shu finished speaking, he ran to the bathroom, not noticing Ma Jinyan getting up behind him.
Not long after Rong Shu entered the bathroom, he caught a peculiar scent, initially thinking it was his imagination.
Until he felt a tingling in his glands and a restless sensation spread through his body.
Realizing what was happening, Rong Shu pushed open the stall door to see Ma Jinyan standing there, holding a burning incense stick.
“Ma Jinyan, are you crazy?!”
Rong Shu tried to suppress his body’s reactions, but his own pheromones were already spilling out.
This enticing scent was arousing and mutual; Ma Jinyan was not much better off, his gaze toward Rong Shu already filled with desire. “You’ll find out if I’m crazy soon enough; blame yourself for being careless.”
He tossed the incense on the ground and walked toward Rong Shu.
“I’ve never seen someone so foolish!” Rong Shu cursed. The aphrodisiac made him feel awful, but as an Omega from the Rong family, if he didn’t enter his heat phase voluntarily, all such stimuli would make them particularly irritable. Normally, he might have only 50% fighting capability, but now, Rong Shu is at 100%.
When Shen Huaixiu sensed something was wrong and rushed over to kick open the door, he found Ma Jinyan reaching for the exit.
Seeing him, Ma Jinyan couldn’t care about being embarrassed and yelled, “Help!”
In the end, he was knocked out by Rong Shu’s kick just as he caught Shen Huaixiu’s worried gaze.
“Waaah, he’s bullying me!”
