ABLO Chapter 23

A week later, the students in the Omega class leaned on the windows, staring in the direction of the corridor.

At the end of the corridor, Lu Yang walked straight ahead with unwavering focus. A group of Alphas followed closely behind him, some handing him water and others fanning him. They were so respectful that they even cleaned the floor beneath his feet before he set them down.

Omegas couldn’t help but sigh with tears in their eyes. The boss is the boss, no matter where he goes, he can beat people into submission.

They suddenly felt a little sympathetic to the Alphas in the Alpha class. When the boss was in the Omega class, he would at least be gentler because they were Omegas.

Ruan Mian and Lu Yang were separated by a floor every day, they persisted for a week, until finally summer vacation came.

When they went home after school, they found a car parked in front of the Lu residence. Ruan Mian thought the car looked familiar, and he couldn’t help but pause and take a closer look.

“It’s Brother Ren’s car!” Ruan Mian finally remembered where he had seen this car.

He ran over with some surprise, feeling a little happy. He didn’t expect Ren Ge to come here. He thought that after he left the Ruan family, Ren Ge would not come to see him again.

When Lu Yang heard that it was Ren Ge who came, he couldn’t help but frown, and reluctantly follow Ruan Mian.

Ren Ge opened the car door and walked down. When he saw Ruan Mian, he smiled and asked gently: “Is school over?”

“Yeah.” Ruan Mian nodded and asked with a smile: “Brother Ren, why are you here?”

“I heard that you moved here, so I came to see you.” Ren Ge smiled, and when he saw Lu Yang behind Ruan Mian, he greeted him politely, “Xiao Yang.”

Lu Yang’s school uniform was draped over his shoulders, and he had a lollipop in his mouth. He looked a little unruly, with the freshness and cheerfulness unique to teenagers.

He raised his eyebrows, looked at Ren Ge, and nodded slightly as a response.

He always held grudges. He still remembered clearly that Ren Ge had kidnapped Ruan Mian for more than half a month.

Ren Ge wasn’t bothered by Lu Yang’s cold demeanor. He smiled and exchanged a few words with Ruan Mian, inquiring about his life at the Lu family’s residence. Once he confirmed that everything was fine, he looked up at Lu Yang and said, “Xiao Yang, may I have a private conversation with Xiao Mian?”

Lu Yang stared at him for a while after hearing this.

Ren Ge didn’t retreat or hide, and looked at him quietly.

Lu Yang looked at Ren Ge for a while and suddenly hooked his finger at Ruan Mian, “Tutu, my little wife, come here.”

Ruan Mian’s cheeks blushed when he heard his address, but he still walked over obediently.

Lu Yang placed a hand on Ruan Mian’s shoulder and looked at Ren Ge, saying, “If you have something to say, just go ahead. We’re all family, and there’s nothing that I shouldn’t know.”

Ren Ge shook his head and chuckled, “Xiao Yang, you don’t have to be so hostile to me. We all hope that Xiao Mian will live well. On this point, our goals are the same.”

Lu Yang curled his lips and couldn’t help but muttered softly, “I think you just want to take my Tutu away.”

Ruan Mian didn’t hear what Lu Yang said. He looked up at Ren Ge, smiled gratefully, and asked, “Brother Ren, what do you want to tell me?”

Lu Yang didn’t want to leave, and Ruan Mian didn’t want him to leave. Ren Ge couldn’t force him, so he just looked at Ruan Mian and said, “Xiao Mian, you haven’t answered me the question I asked you before.”

Lu Yang’s face changed, and the arm holding Ruan Mian’s shoulder tightened. This Ren Ge really didn’t have good intentions and wanted to kidnap his little Tutu.

“Brother Ren, thank you for your kindness, but I am already engaged to Lu Yang.” Ruan Mian looked at Ren Ge and answered without hesitation.

He knew that Ren Ge had good intentions and wanted to help him get out of the control of the Ruan family, but he had no feelings for Ren Ge other than that of a brother, so he didn’t want to implicate Ren Ge, and he didn’t want to waste his time.

Ren Ge nodded slightly and said, “Xiao Mian, I know about your engagement. However, I didn’t know before that it was possible for us to be engaged as well and for me to take you abroad. If you’re willing to come with me, we can leave here together and start a new life. The Ruan family will no longer be able to disturb you from then on.”

He looked at Lu Yang and said, “Xiao Yang is engaged to you so that you can have a reason to leave the Ruan family. I believe that if you are willing to go abroad with me, Xiao Yang can understand.”

“I don’t understand.” Lu Yang couldn’t help but get angry when he heard his words. He said without thinking, “Mian Mian lives well here. Why do you want to take him away? Who do you think you are? Why do you think I will feel at ease if he goes abroad with you?”

If Lu Yang had a line that could never be crossed, it would be Ruan Mian leaving. It was his absolute taboo, something no one should ever touch.

Ren Ge said, “You should know that I won’t hurt Xiao Mian.”

Ruan Mian saw that Lu Yang was about to get angry, so he quickly pulled him back and said to Ren Ge anxiously, “Brother Ren, I’m fine here, so I won’t go with you. I don’t plan to go abroad either.”

Ren Ge looked at him for a while, lowered his head and smiled softly.

In fact, he couldn’t tell whether his love for Ruan Mian came from love or pity because Ruan Mian was too young. He only knew that he felt comfortable when he was with Ruan Mian, and he wanted to rescue Ruan Mian from the sea of suffering.

But unfortunately, it seems that Ruan Mian already has his prince and knight, and it’s not his turn to save him. In conclusion, he was a step too late.

Although he already knew the answer in his heart, he still chose to come today, driven by a sense of unwillingness. As long as Ruan Mian hadn’t rejected him in person, he felt a lingering sense of reluctance. Now that he finally had his answer, he could finally lay the burden in his heart to rest.

He reached out and gently patted Ruan Mian on the head, and said with a gentle look: “Xiao Mian, if you need anything in the future, you can always come to me.”

Lu Yang blocked Ruan Mian behind him, not letting Ren Ge touch him again, and said with anger in his voice: “No need, don’t worry, Mian Mian will live happily here and will never need your help.”

Ren Ge did not get angry, but just curved his lips kindly, looked at Lu Yang and said: “It’s best if it’s this way, I hope you can treat Xiao Mian well.”

Lu Yang snorted and bit the lollipop in his mouth, “You don’t have to worry about Mian Mian’s affairs.”

He hated Ren Ge the most because he always spoke to him in an adult tone, always playing the image of a caring big brother, but in fact he was deliberately trying to snatch his Tutu away.

Ren Ge didn’t care. He looked at him as if he were looking at a child who was throwing a tantrum. He smiled tolerantly and said to Ruan Mian, “Xiao Mian, I’ll leave first.”

“Brother Ren, goodbye.” Ruan Mian nodded, watched him get in the car, watched the car go away, and waved his hand while standing there.

Lu Yang, angry, pressed down his raised arm, dragged him home, and muttered indignantly: “Fortunately, my parents are strict, otherwise, my little Tutu would have been kidnapped by the big bad wolf.”

Ruan Mian couldn’t help but chuckle, and pulled Lu Yang’s hand and said: “Baby Lu, have you forgotten that you are the wolf, and I have been kidnapped by you?”

Lu Yang held Ruan Mian by the nape of his neck and looked down into his eyes, saying, “Then you need to see clearly and remember well. The wolf before you is the best one in the world for you. You mustn’t mistake it.”

Ruan Mian’s eyes were bright, like two exquisitely dark pieces of glass. Lu Yang could clearly see his own reflection in them. For some reason, a wave of satisfaction flowed through his heart, overshadowing the discomfort brought by Ren Ge and gradually lifting his mood.

As Lu Yang held him by the neck, Ruan Mian became as docile as a snake held by its vital spot.

Pressing his forehead against Lu Yang’s, Ruan Mian smiled slightly and said, “Of course, I wouldn’t mistake it. Where else in this world could there be a second wolf who would let this little rabbit climb to his head?”

Lu Yang playfully nudged Ruan Mian with his head, and the two of them instantly burst into laughter.

When Grandpa Lu opened the door to the courtyard, he saw Lu Yang and Ruan Mian transformed into an arctic wolf and a lop-eared rabbit, respectively. The wolf and the rabbit were face-to-face, playfully butting their heads together.

Grandpa Lu: “…”

The arctic wolf’s head was much larger than the lop-eared rabbit’s, and its strength was also greater. The rabbit was being pushed back repeatedly, swaying unsteadily as it dug its little paws into the ground, determined not to give in.

Every time the arctic wolf saw that he was about to be pushed down, he would relax some of his strength, lazily let the lop-eared rabbit push him a few times, and then push back hard again. The two of them went back and forth, enjoying it.

Grandpa Lu stood there for a while, looking at them, not knowing whether he should laugh or be angry. As long as the two of them get together, they seem to never grow up, and they can play happily and carefree.

He looked at the two little guys, shook his head helplessly, walked over to separate them, put one in his pocket, carried the other into the house, fanned them, and fed each of them a piece of watermelon.

It was a hot summer day, and if these two little fur balls continued to push each other like this, they would probably get heatstroke soon.

Grandpa Lu lay on the recliner, swaying leisurely, fanning them, and sighed: “When will you two grow up?”

The ears of the lop-eared rabbit moved, as if he had heard his words. He came over and gently rubbed his hand with his rabbit ears.

His hands were covered with a thick layer of calluses because he had been holding guns for many years. When his wife was alive, she always thought his hands were too rough and refused to let him hold hands with her. Unexpectedly, the lop-eared rabbit did not dislike it at all.

He couldn’t help but smile, gently stroked the rabbit fur on the back of the lop-eared rabbit, and sighed: “What a good child.”

The arctic wolf bit a watermelon in his mouth, blinked his wolf eyes and looked at them for a few times, hesitated for a while, spit out the watermelon seeds in his mouth, and came over slowly, put his head under his palm, and rubbed it a few times suggestively.

Grandpa Lu lowered his head, looked at his grandson, who rarely acted like a spoiled child with loving eyes, and reached out to gently touch his head. The wolf fur was not as soft as the rabbit fur, but it was extra smooth.

He fanned himself while looking at the scorching sun in the sky and whispered: “Grow up quickly… When you grow up, this family can be handed over to you. At that time, I will retire completely, when your grandmother was still alive…”

He nagged a lot, and when he turned his head, he saw that the two little guys were already sleepy and had fallen asleep, leaning against each other.

The lop-eared rabbit was lying on the belly of the arctic wolf, and the wolf’s tail was unconsciously wrapped around the lop-eared rabbit’s small body, sleeping soundly.
