ATISIUP Chapter 12

Having grown up in a peaceful society on Earth, Lin Huanyan could not stand to watch someone die in front of her.

So, when she saw the medical pod could start functioning, she finally felt relieved.

Although she had not been in this world for long, she was somewhat familiar with the futuristic technology of the medical pod that had once only existed in human fantasies on Earth.

No matter how severe the injury, as long as someone entered the medical pod, it could be treated, even if Earth’s medical technology couldn’t have handled it.

What she feared most was when even the medical pod couldn’t treat someone—that would truly be a hopeless situation.

“Beep beep beep, please replenish the treatment liquid in time.”

Lin Huanyan glanced at the control screen. The treatment liquid, which had been full a moment ago, was now less than one-fifth full.

How serious were his injuries?

She hurriedly opened the pod’s side compartment, found the treatment liquid, and filled it up.

After thinking for a moment, she wasn’t fully reassured, so she also replenished the nutrient solution and repair fluid.

Looking again, sure enough, all the fluids were quickly depleting. Lin Huanyan kept her eyes fixed on the screen, refilling several times before the depletion rate finally slowed down.

Only then did she have time to observe the man floating in the transparent medical pod.

The cylindrical pod, once empty, was now filled with a deep blue liquid, which gradually lightened as the treatment progressed.

The man’s body, which had only been a vague outline, began to become clearer.

He was tall, with defined muscles. His long legs appeared strong and powerful, and looking up, there were clearly defined abs.

On his chest was a large wound, but rather than looking tragic, it gave off an eerie and chilling feeling.

Above that, his firm chest muscles were visible, and even the small red marks on his chest became slightly visible with the movement of the liquid.

Lin Huanyan stared intently, even stepping forward a little, but then quickly snapped back to reality, stepping back in shock.

She slapped her slightly flushed cheeks, snapping out of it. What was she doing?

Hmm, no, this isn’t my fault. I just wanted to observe his injuries.

Having watched countless videos of handsome men on short video platforms on Earth, Lin Huanyan firmly told herself she wasn’t admiring his body.

Her gaze returned to the man’s face. His eyes were closed, making his thick and long eyelashes more noticeable, and his nose was well-defined with slightly pursed lips. The man looked as if he had stepped out of a Greek myth, perfectly handsome.

Lin Huanyan examined him carefully. She had never seen such a handsome man before—he was even more attractive than Colonel Lu Yuan.

She just didn’t understand why he had ended up here, so injured.

At this point, Gu Yinchen had actually already woken up. He had really gone hard on himself, fainting from his own injuries.

But his physical condition was too good, and combined with the medical pod, his wounds had mostly healed in no time.

Gu Yinchen was secretly glad that he had left a contingency plan. He had used his spiritual power to protect his stomach wound, so the medical pod, which could only treat external injuries, couldn’t heal it.

This way, he wouldn’t fail completely, and he could continue with the story he had concocted.

The young woman had been staring at him with burning eyes, examining him up and down. Gu Yinchen couldn’t help but release his spiritual power.

Thus, he saw all of Lin Huanyan’s reactions.

Ah, had she been captivated by his body and looks? Gu Yinchen felt a little pleased.

He had always been praised for his looks, but the opinions of outsiders didn’t really matter to him and sometimes even caused trouble.

Now, seeing Lin Huanyan’s gaze on him, he thought he had figured something out.

Lin Huanyan, unaware that she had been noticed, was now in a bit of a dilemma.

The man had been treated for so long, but his abdominal wound hadn’t healed. She had just scanned it again and discovered that this wasn’t an external injury, and the medical pod couldn’t treat it.

What should she do? Lin Huanyan immediately thought of Professor Andrei, but she didn’t know him well, and last time, she had only contacted him through Professor Liu.

While she was in distress, the medical pod beeped again.

“Treatment complete. The machine will shut down soon. Please prepare. The countdown will begin in 10 seconds…”

“10, 9, 8, 7… 3, 2, 1.”

“Beep, beep, beep…”

The deep blue liquid drained away completely, leaving only the man, now wet.

“Ah, what do I do now?”

Lin Huanyan stared at the man, drenched and sticky from the nutrient liquid. She had forgotten to clean the medical pod after use, and now she was in trouble. She couldn’t just wash him herself.

After thinking it over, Lin Huanyan could only have the robot move the still unconscious man into the bathtub in her bedroom.

Her station only had her bathtub and the swimming pool large enough to hold the man, but throwing him directly into the pool would risk drowning him since he was still unconscious.

Looking at how the man, with his long limbs, filled the bathtub that she usually found spacious, Lin Huanyan decided to leave it to the robot and retreated to the living room, out of sight.

The moment Lin Huanyan left, Gu Yinchen opened his eyes.

He had already sensed that the layout of this lab was different from the others in the research institute, a little more spacious.

This bathroom was no exception, large and well-equipped with various facilities and many cute little ornaments. Next to it were light blue towels.

Gu Yinchen sniffed the air; there seemed to be a faint, pleasant fragrance in the air, though he wasn’t sure if it was from the young lady.

“Human-shaped object detected, executing master’s command, starting cleaning program.”

Gu Yinchen was startled as the silly robot began stripping his clothes. His clothes were already tattered from the explosion, riddled with holes, but at least they covered him. He wasn’t used to being naked.

Moreover, from what he remembered, the command Lin Huanyan gave was to clean him, not to strip him completely.

But then he suddenly thought of something. Gu Yinchen relaxed his grip on his clothes and let the robot undress him, cleaning off the sticky liquid from his body.

After the little robot left to call the owner, he quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be unconscious.

Lin Huanyan didn’t remain idle while the robot helped the man clean. She had awkwardly gone to ask Professor Andrei for advice. Luckily, the professor was kind, and after hearing the situation, he offered several suggestions.

However, what Lin Huanyan didn’t expect was that when she walked into the bathroom, holding Professor Andrei’s information, she looked up and didn’t see the cleaned man—she saw the man, freshly cleaned and completely naked, lying quietly in the bathtub.

It was quite the stunning sight, a beautiful man in the bathtub, with the air around him filled with a tempting fragrance (the robot had used the body wash with the scent from the girl’s own bath products).

Lin Huanyan cursed her excellent memory, which made her see everything in vivid detail and replay it in her mind over and over again.

She swore this was the most stimulating scene she had ever seen. Only then did she finally realize what the robot meant by cleaning him “completely clean.”

But the awkwardness didn’t end there. Lin Huanyan’s keen eyesight noticed something. The man actually furrowed his brows.

The next second, their eyes met, and Lin Huanyan only managed to scream before slamming the door shut and running out of the room.

Left alone, the man shifted slightly, as though he had just woken up. The dazed look on his face vanished, replaced by a smirk—a slightly mischievous, devilish smile.

Looking at the door shaking from her hurried retreat, the man stood up from the bathtub, water droplets dripping from his body and falling back into the tub.

He grabbed a light blue towel from the nearby rack and wrapped it around his waist.

He walked over to the door, and his previously carefree expression quickly turned shy and awkward. He pushed the door open and stepped outside.

“Miss, could you please help me find some clothes?” His tone carried a slight awkward pause.

Lin Huanyan was hiding her face in embarrassment, her toes digging into the ground. When she heard this, she could no longer hide and sat up straight.

As soon as she looked up, her eyes landed on the light blue towel around his waist, and the heat in her face returned.

It was the towel she used to dry off, and now he was using it to cover himself…

But he didn’t have any clothes to wear. It was the robot’s fault, and he couldn’t just stay naked.

After a moment of mental brainstorming, Lin Huanyan’s mind cleared up, and she quickly remembered a set of clothes she had come across while cleaning the storage room.

It was a set of clothes from a former lab head—a military-style cosplay outfit. Thankfully, it was something she had just organized, so she quickly found it and held it close.

Gu Yinchen didn’t wait long in the bedroom. Lin Huanyan quickly returned and handed him the clothes.

“Here, take this and put it on. It’s the only men’s outfit I could find. Just make do with it.”

Gu Yinchen’s face instantly darkened, but Lin Huanyan didn’t notice as she was looking down.

He casually asked, holding the clothes made of obviously different materials, “Whose clothes are these? They still look brand new. Has the owner not worn them yet? Is it okay if I wear them?”

Lin Huanyan, unaware of any oddness, casually replied, “These are lab materials, not anyone’s personal clothes. You can wear them without worry.”

Only then did Gu Yinchen feel relieved, and his handsome face lightened.

He thought to himself: the investigation he conducted earlier didn’t mention anything about her having a boyfriend, so how could there be men’s clothes? It turns out they were just for experiments, no wonder they were made of materials he had never seen before.
