BMHS Chapter 023.1

The glittering light in Meng Ting’s clear eyes was so pure that Yan Sui’s heart suddenly softened. He looked at He Wan.

“I’ll take Meng Ting to have a look.” If he says go, then they will go. Yan Sui’s mobility has always been this high.

He Wan’s face became even worse when she heard this. The anger that was aroused by Meng Ting has not yet subsided, but Yan Sui is about to take the person away. This calf-protecting posture is also too obvious.

Nowadays, no one in the entire Haicheng dares to say anything bad to her; but Meng Ting not only said it, he also has not admitted his mistake, let alone apologized. The reason he dared to do this was because Yan Sui protected him.

All kinds of emotions swirled around in her heart. She restrained the unabated anger on her face, but she didn’t smile anymore. She just looked at Meng Ting indifferently, with a faint look of pity in her eyes.

She pities Meng Ting for being coaxed by Yan Sui’s sweet words and becomes unable to know his own limitations. But the more he did so, the worse he would fall in the end.

Her visit this time left her both dissatisfied and satisfied. The dissatisfaction was clearly due to Meng Ting’s lack of tact. But wasn’t it his ‘foolishness’ that made her take a fancy to him in the first place? It’s just that now, she was also irritated by it.

As for satisfaction, it naturally came from Yan Sui. Yan Sui, who has always been unresponsive to her decisions, actually chose to use tricks to coax people this time. He even put on a show of affection in front of her. Let’s see how long he can keep up the act.

Meng Ting was naturally very sensitive to this kind of gaze, but once he understood the meaning of this gaze, he became even more confused. So what is it about him that makes her feel pity for him? Was it because he was naturally stupider than others?

“Let’s go,” Yan Sui turned his body to the side to block He Wan’s gaze. He nodded gently to her again and then took Meng Ting away like this.

He Wan watched Yan Sui take the person away. After sitting in the living room for a while, she left the Yan’s residence.

In this way, she failed to discover something more remarkable. For example, Yan Sui and Meng Ting slept together before marriage, and so on. As far as she knew, Yan Sui would not let people stay in his room easily just to coax people, and invade the territory that absolutely belonged to him. This was something Yan Sui would never do and would not bother to do.

As an after-meal walk, Yan Sui took Meng Ting for a stroll, allowing him to familiarize himself with the roads around Yan’s residence at the same time. From the Yan’s residence, they went south for a while before arriving at a villa area, where more people gradually appeared.

Yan Sui grew up in this area, so he was naturally familiar with the surroundings, but it had been a few years since he strolled around like this.

Meng Ting wasn’t curious about external things. He memorized the route and didn’t look around much, focusing on following Yan Sui.

However, he still noticed a lot of gazes falling on Yan Sui. Even if those people didn’t come to strike up a conversation, they were undoubtedly interested in Yan Sui. Also, if he thought Yan Sui was good, there would be other people who thought he was good too.

Yan Sui did not hold Meng Ting’s hand all the time, but occasionally lowered his head to talk to him. Those gentle and intimate manners also drove away many ‘coveting’ gazes.

Meng Ting noticed that most of the people looking over were actually looking at him. It’s just that Yan Sui is very sharp. He subtly blocked them or asserted his dominance through some imperceptible movements.

Yan Sui’s presence was so imposing that it kept others at bay. However, Meng Ting, who was following Yan Sui, no longer had the gloominess of the past. He appeared soft, gentle, and beautiful, attracting attention. Only Meng Ting himself felt that it was Yan Sui who was being looked at and felt sour in his heart. However, when it came to feeling sour, it should probably be Yan Sui who felt more sour.

“This is the place…” Yan Sui pointed ahead. He put down his hand and immediately took Meng Ting’s hand.

Meng Ting returned his grip and looked around. Along with the excitement and joy, those unclear emotions are also left behind.

“Do you think we should keep a cat or a dog?”

“We will raise whatever you like.”

As Yan Sui said this, he continued to lead Meng Ting inside. He should have been holding his hand just now, instead of keeping a distance for fear of some gazes that might make Meng Ting uncomfortable.

“Um,” Meng Ting hummed softly. For some reason, at this moment, the tip of his nose felt slightly sour, and his eyes were covered with a light mist. He didn’t want to cry, he just felt a little moved.

For him, having a pet was even more unreal than getting his and Yan Sui’s marriage certificate.

But now it is true that he married Yan Sui, and it is also true that are going to have a pet, which is why he felt moved.

Yan Sui lowered his eyes and glanced at Meng Ting. With a gentle pull of his hand, he took the person into his embrace. He raised his hand to rub Meng Ting’s hair, “Let’s go in and take a look.”

“Okay,” Meng Ting nodded. He held Yan Sui’s hand tightly and then entered the shelter together.

They went in through the glass door and were greeted by a man in a white coat wearing metal-framed glasses. He looked at Yan Sui for a moment, the seriousness on his face faded a little, and his standing posture became more casual, “How come you have the time to come over?”

The first time he opened his business, Yan Sui came over for ten minutes, and since then he has never set foot here again.

“I sent you a text message just now,” Yan Sui continued to lead Meng Ting towards the only soft leather sofa in the shelter. That was the throne that Zhen Han had made for himself. Usually, no one dares to touch it. It stands alone among a pile of wooden benches, which is particularly eye-catching.

“Sit down,” Yan Sui said to Meng Ting. Meng Ting nodded and gave Zhen Han another puzzled look before sitting down.

Zhen Han followed him with a dark face. He touched his pocket but couldn’t find his mobile phone, so he continued in a low voice.

“I just did a minor surgery. I probably forgot my mobile phone in the locker room.”

As he said, his gaze swept towards Meng Ting, and Meng Ting also raised his eyes to meet his gaze. He didn’t avoid it, nor did he have more curiosity, it was just a very general gaze, but Zhen Han, who had been ‘hurt’ by Yan Sui, felt that he had been ‘healed’ a little.

“This is Meng Ting, your cousin-in-law.”

“He is Zhen Han, my cousin.”

Yan Sui also has an aunt who lives abroad all year round. Zhen Han lived in the old house for two years when he was a child and was later taken back abroad again.

Two years ago, he returned to China and opened a pet hospital near the old house. However, the name of this pet hospital is just ‘Pet Shelter’.

“Hello, cousin,” Meng Ting obediently greeted the person. So far, Meng Ting was completely unaware of the people and events on Yan Sui’s side. It was only today that he met He Wan and Yan Sui’s cousin, Zhen Han.

“Hello,” Zhen Han stared at Meng Ting for a couple of moments and then took a look at the sofa where Meng Ting was seated. His cousin-in-law seemed a little dull, but the first impression wasn’t unpleasant, so he didn’t insist on having him get up.

But this cousin of his always forgets his mysophobia, which is really annoying.

“We want to get a pet, do you have any suitable ones here? Let’s take a look first.”

Yan Sui continued standing and spoke to Zhen Han. This cousin of his not only had a mysophobia problem, He was also stingy. Anything he handled in the entire pet hospital was naturally of good quality, but when it came to things others would touch, the cheaper, the better.

Yan Sui thought he was not a mysophobic. He was just reluctant to give the good things he had to others.

“Except for some stray cats and dogs that were brought in a few days ago, there are no suitable cubs left. I’ll call you again in a couple of days.”

His ‘Pet Shelter’ is still mainly a hospital, providing medical care and grooming for pets in the neighborhood. They also sell cubs. However, he usually pre-orders the breeds in advance and then picks them up and sells them. It would not be possible to have suitable cubs so suddenly like this.

Before Yan Sui could respond, Meng Ting tugged at his sleeve, and both Yan Sui and Zhen Han looked over.

“Stray cats and dogs would be even better. I think they will like me,” Meng Ting finds it difficult to empathize with people, but he can empathize with these cats and dogs, who, like him before, have no home. He knows they long for a home more than any other domesticated pet.

“And they will also like you.”

Yan Sui’s Adam’s apple rolled up and down, and he let out a soft ‘Okay’.

Being looked at in such a way, he just wanted to satisfy all of Meng Ting’s requests.

It’s a bit too much to describe him as lustful, but Meng Ting can really affect his emotions and decisions.

But even though he realized this, he still chose to let it go, just because of the smile Meng Ting gave him after agreeing.

Meng Ting pursed his lips, perhaps wanting to be more reserved, but he couldn’t help it. He smiled, then reached out and touched Yan Sui’s palm to express his gratitude.

Zhen Han raised his eyebrows and cast a sidelong glance at Meng Ting and Yan Sui, followed by a blazing hot desire for gossip.

That aunt of his suddenly changed her nature and did something good? This possibility is really small.

“…haven’t eaten yet, but already ate a mouthful of dog food1狗糧 (gǒu liáng): lit. dog food; (slang, neologism) display of affection seen from the perspective of a third, lonely person..”

He muttered and swallowed the curse he was about to say. He certainly wouldn’t have any qualms to say it in front of others, but Yan Sui is stricter with him than his own mother. It’s not just empty words; he occasionally gets a lesson or two on fighting. That’s when he gets taught a lesson.
