BMHS Chapter 023.2

Meng Ting walked around the pet cages and finally picked out an extremely ugly kitten and a yellow native dog with half of its tail missing.

These days, there are a lot of people who raise cats and dogs, but there are also a lot of abandoned and abused ones.

Meng Ting squatted in front of the cage and reached out to touch the native dog, which was a bit sluggish two days after the operation, “It’s okay. From now on, you have me and Yan Sui. We will take care of you.”

The native dog seemed to sense Meng Ting’s kindness. He licked the palm of Meng Ting’s hand, gently whining as if in response to his words.

Meng Ting stroked him for a while, then went to look at the white kitten that he also wanted. It was injured and sick. Except for its face, all the fur on its body was shaved off. It was already thin, so now it looked even thinner and uglier.

The only part with fur, its face, was infected with bacteria, black patches spread across it, making it even more unsightly. Meng Ting’s choice is really out of Zhen Han’s expectations. What was even more unexpected was that he really liked them.

“They’ve had their surgeries and injections, so there’s no harm in taking them back, but you have to know how to take care of them.”

Zhen Han leaned against the door as if he had no bones. Of course, he was only like this in front of Yan Sui. Normally, he considered himself quite serious and aloof.

“You have to bring them back here every three days for a checkup.”

What he said was just talk. The Yan’s residence was not unfamiliar to him. With so many people, how could he not find someone to take care of two small things? As for the checkup, a phone call from Yan Sui and he would naturally come over.

Meng Ting stood up and walked in front of Zhen Han, earnestly saying, “Can you tell me about it?”

Zhen Han glanced at Yan Sui out of the corner of his eye, immediately stood up straight, and nodded, “Okay.”

With this statement, Zhen Han’s chatty nature was exposed again. He talked to Meng Ting for nearly two hours, and Meng Ting also listened attentively for two hours.

He looked at the two cages at his feet and asked for someone’s phone number for the first time.
“Can I have your phone number? I may not be able to remember the place, so I think I need to confirm it with you.”

“Yes,” Zhen Han nodded with dignity. Out of the corner of his eye, Yan Sui went outside to answer the phone. He stretched out his hand to ruffle Meng Ting’s hair, “Hey, we’re all family. What are you being so polite for?”

He had wanted to make a move all night, but Yan Sui had been glaring at him like a tiger watching its prey, so he didn’t dare. Now… still not possible.

Meng Ting looked a little dull, but as soon as he lifted his hand, he grabbed his wrist. He frowned and looked at Zhen Han, “What are you doing?”

Zhen Han resentfully took his hand back. He couldn’t tell him that he had been coveting his curly hair for a long time.

“Nothing, there’s something in your hair, I’ll remove it for you.”

Zhen Han said this in a deadly serious manner. Meng Ting was still confused, but he still let go of his hand, and then Zhen Han finally rubbed Meng Ting’s head. As soon as he did so, Yan Sui came in. Then with that gaze, he felt like his hands were going to be broken by the ‘look’.

“Are you done talking?” Yan Sui looked at Zhen Han, his tone was light, but Zhen Han immediately straightened up and nodded, “Yes.”

As they talked, Meng Ting continued to look down at the timid cats and dogs in the cage.

Zhen Han then briefly explained a couple more sentences before sending Yan Sui and Meng Ting away. He watched the backs of Yan Sui and Meng Ting disappear from the door, took out his mobile phone, and immediately posted a message in his Moments1朋友圈 (Péng you quān): Moments (social networking function of smartphone app WeChat 微信 (Wēi xìn) developed by Tencent 騰訊 (Téng xùn). It serves new social networking functions for WeChat users. The Chinese translation of Moment is known as “Friends’ circle”, which means users can share and get access to accepted WeChat friends’ information, creating an intimate and private communication circle within the users’ choice of close friends..

‘Little sister-in-law is very cute.’ And then added a picture of his treasured cute cat.

In less than two minutes, there was a row of likes under the message.

Given that Yan Sui might have seen it, no one dared to comment anything, but the flood of likes had already exposed their eagerness to gossip.

Of course, what was even more frightening was that an hour and a half later, Yan Sui’s name suddenly appeared in a row of likes.

After a long period of silence, Zhong Ming finally posted his first comment.

“It seems that Boss Yan also thinks our little sister-in-law is cute. Haha.”

One minute, two minutes and three minutes passed. Yan Sui didn’t react at all, and Zhong Ming’s heart finally settled down.

He laughed ‘hehe’ twice, refreshed his mind, and was about to go out to play, but then he stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

Only saw that underneath the comment, there was an extra row of words.

“I’m not cute, Yan Sui is cute.”

Zhong Ming let out an ‘Aowu’ like a wolf cry. It’s really hard to imagine that someone would use words like ‘cute’ on Yan Sui. All the people who saw the comment had the same reaction as Zhong Ming, and more than half of them successfully spit out their wine!

Then, underneath that sentence, there was another reply that appeared to be from Yan Sui himself, “Um.”

***

After they returned to the Yan’s residence, they first made a nest for the two new cat and dog. Meng Ting comforted them for a while, and then he was taken back to the room by Yan Sui, where he took a bath and got ready for bed.

Meng Ting washed first, followed by Yan Sui. When he came back after washing, he saw Meng Ting playing with his mobile phone. He then smoothly brought the person into his arms and then he taught Meng Ting how to use some chat software.

In fact, he didn’t use it much himself. After clicking on a certain message, he created an account for Meng Ting and let him add his account. He picked up his mobile phone and accepted the request. Naturally, he taught him how to use Moments.

Taking himself as a demonstration, he then clicked the like button under that message from Zhen Han.

“Tap here to reply.” Yan Sui tapped the button again, and a dialog box appeared.

Meng Ting held the mobile phone. He thought for a moment and then typed that line. Of course, he didn’t tap send. He turned his head to look at Yan Sui and smiled at him. He just thought Yan Sui was cute. He was cute everywhere.

Yan Sui looked at Zhen Han’s Moments and remembered what he had done to Meng Ting before. With a light touch of his fingertips, he sent Meng Ting’s comment out, and then he sent another ‘Um’.

Showed off their love and affection to the point where his cousin’s mobile phone fell down. Yan Sui spreads this dog food so cruelly and inhumanely. Many people who were embarrassed by his show of love howled loudly, shaking the sky. But Yan Sui, who started it all, pulled his and Meng Ting’s mobile phones out of his arms and put them on the bedside table.

“It’s almost eleven o’clock. Let’s sleep.”

“Okay.”

Although Meng Ting felt that Yan Sui’s Moments were much more interesting than his, he still nodded obediently.

He climbed out of Yan Sui’s arms and lay on the pillow next to him. Yan Sui got up, turned off the lights, and lay down on the bed, not waiting for Meng Ting to move slowly, he directly reached out, scooped the person over, and then gently cuddled him.

“Go to sleep.”

“Okay,” Meng Ting replied, but his eyes were still wide open. He waited for a while, but Yan Sui still held him like this. He poked Yan Sui’s chest, “Are you forgetting something?”

“What?” The corner of Yan Sui’s mouth curled up, but he still closed his eyes and embraced the person, not moving at all.

Meng Ting struggled slightly, stretched out his hands from the quilt, and put his arms around Yan Sui’s neck, “You haven’t said goodnight to me or kissed me yet.”

Yan Sui opened his eyes to look at the person. In the dim light, Meng Ting’s eyes were still bright. He looked confused as if they had agreed to do this long ago, at least for Meng Ting. Yan Sui gave him a good night kiss, and he gave Yan Sui a good morning kiss in return.

Yan Sui didn’t hesitate anymore. He hugged Meng Ting and changed his position. As he moved up and down, Meng Ting sank into the bed. He was naturally uncomfortable with such a posture, but he still didn’t let go of his arms around his neck. When he saw Yan Sui leaning forward, the corners of his mouth curled up in a light smile, and his eyes closed subconsciously.

However, Yan Sui’s kiss did not land on his eyebrows. Instead, it fell directly on his lips, and the two people’s postures remained fixed, neither leaving nor continuing.

Meng Ting slowly opened his eyes and scanned Yan Sui’s face. The hand around his neck moved to Yan Sui’s cheek and gently caressed it. Yan Sui moved away slightly, and Meng Ting continued to follow. He stuck out the tip of his tongue and licked the place where he had bitten Yan Sui in the afternoon.

“O…” kay.

Before he finished speaking, Yan Sui’s kisses fell one after another. He trapped the person between his chest and arms and then plundered Meng Ting’s lips as much as possible. Things like kissing, for a man, do not need to be taught by others. His senses are the best teachers.

‘Tsk, tsk’, the sounds of kissing, full of ambiguity, stretched infinitely. A simple good night kiss was naturally warm, but a good night kiss that has changed its quality was a bit difficult to deal with.

The two people’s breathing was in a complete mess, and Meng Ting’s chest kept fluctuating. He covered his somewhat numb lips, looked at Yan Sui, and quietly muttered, “So tired, so tired.”

In fact, he should have said; so hot, so hot2T/N: Meng Ting said 好累,好累 (hǎo lèi, hǎo lèi), meaning ‘so tired, so tired’. While (according to the author) he should’ve said 好熱好熱 (hǎo rè hǎo rè), meaning ‘so hot, so hot’, because his whole body is burning [火熱 (huǒ rè), burning hot; fervent; fiery; passionate; intimate; intense; fierce] from the kiss.. From his lips to his whole body, he is burning.

Yan Sui supported his body. After a long while, he lay on his side and returned to his original position, and then scooped up Meng Ting and held him in his arms, “Good night.”

Meng Ting also wrapped his arms around the person and nodded, “Good night.”

This kiss was unexpectedly tiring, but with Yan Sui’s good night kiss and his hug, he thought he would be able to sleep well tonight.

His heart settled down and he soon fell asleep. Yan Sui still felt the burn for a long time before he calmed down and fell asleep. In future goodnight kisses, they must not rashly stir up the fire. Otherwise, neither he nor Meng Ting would be able to withstand this kind of fever.

***

The next day, Yan Sui woke up and received another sweet and sticky good morning kiss from Meng Ting. He went to work, while Meng Ting stayed home to take care of the cat and the dog.

The native dog, which Meng Ting called Dahuang was fine, but the little kitten, Maoqiu3T/N: Meng Ting named the dog Dahuang [大黃 (dà huáng), rhubarb (botany)] and the little kitten Maoqiu [毛球 (máo qiú), hair/fur ball]. The previous translator used the name Rhubarb and Furball. I opted to use their Chinese name, but please notify me if you like the translated name better., was so ugly that even Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang didn’t want to get close to it.

However, it was Meng Ting who brought them back, so he didn’t want anyone else to deal with them. He has his own way of taking care of cats and dogs, plus, he also made up a lot of knowledge at Zhen Han’s place last night. He took Dahuang and Maoqiu with him, carrying a medicine box, and cleaned them up on the grass in front of the Yan’s residence.

As the early morning sun fell, he held Maoqiu in his arms and used cotton swabs to apply medicine and clean it carefully. Next to him is Dahuang, which is still afraid to have fun. One person and two pets form a world of their own.

Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang checked several times to make sure Meng Ting didn’t need their help, so they didn’t come forward to disturb him.

“Maoqiu, eat your food and medicine obediently. You will be fine soon. When your fur grows out, you will definitely become beautiful.”

Meng Ting took a closer look at Maoqiu again and he wasn’t so sure anymore. He added, “It doesn’t matter if you’re not beautiful. Yan Sui and I are raising you.”

Perhaps because Meng Ting’s touch was too comfortable. Maoqiu, which had never let out a sound since arriving at Yan’s residence, softly ‘meowed’ with a slight milky sound.

Meng Ting was so struck by its cuteness that he took out his mobile phone from his pocket and took a photo of himself and Maoqiu. After thinking about it, he sent it to Yan Sui.

Yan Sui picked up his mobile phone. He originally thought that it was those people who were shocked by the message on Moments and came to gossip. Seeing that it was Meng Ting, the cold look on his brow disappeared. He tapped on it and stared at the photo for a long time. Then he set the photo as the background of his mobile phone.

“Maoqiu’s voice is very cute.” Under the photo, Meng Ting sent this message again.

Last night, Meng Ting successfully mastered the word ‘cute’ because of the message on Zhen Han’s Moments.

He thought Yan Sui was cute and thought their cat and dog were cute. But Yan Sui felt that Meng Ting who said this was the cutest.

He tapped his Moments and sent his first message.

‘Cute.’ Plus a photo of Meng Ting holding Maoqiu.

Not long after, the crowd of likes from last night appeared in droves. After Gu Lang clicked the likes, the phone call came.

“Are you Yan Sui? Are you still Yan Sui? Are you really Yan Sui?” He highly suspected that Yan Sui had been ‘possessed4T/N: I’m a bit conflicted with this. I’m not sure if I should translate this as ‘worn’ or ‘possessed’. The author uses the word 穿 (chuān) here. It means to dress; to wear; to put on; to bore through; pierce; penetrate; pass through. This is from the word 穿越 (chuān yuè), meaning to pass through; to traverse; to cross. Usually translated as transmigration/transmigrated. In short, Gu Lang suspected that someone else was transmigrated as Yan Sui or that his soul was exchanged by another soul, or you can say that the other soul was ‘wearing’ Yan Sui’s body. Wear sounds too much like clothes though…‘.

“What is it?” As soon as the cold voice belonging to Yan Sui came out, Gu Lang’s millions of suspicions were all wiped out. How many times has he been taught a lesson by this voice and this tone? If he couldn’t recognize it, who else could?

Yan Sui was not ‘possessed’. He was just in love.

I feel like I need to clarify something. The ‘cute’ that was used frequently in this chapter is this character 可愛 (kě’ài). It means cute; adorable; lovable; lovely; likable; beloved; sweet; (Internet slang, ACG, of a male) feminine; effeminate. When everyone other than Meng Ting uses it, I think it means: cute; adorable. When Meng Ting uses it to describe Yan Sui, I think it means: lovable; likable.
