BMHS Chapter 029

When Meng Ting woke up early in the morning, Yan Sui was still asleep. He looked at the person for a while. When it was almost time for Yan Sui to wake up, Meng Ting slowly opened the hand that was resting on his chest and moved it up and down.

In fact, he had wanted to touch him last night, but at that time, he was enveloped in a shy emotion at that time. He didn’t dare to speak up, let alone put it into practice.

Meng Ting was quickly caught, and his hand was covered by Yan Sui on his chest. Meng Ting froze instantly, blinked his eyes after a long time, and then felt Yan Sui’s lively and strong heartbeat in the palm of his hand. This feeling was magical, but being caught made him feel embarrassed.

Meng Ting lifted up his body and placed a good morning kiss on Yan Sui’s forehead, “Yan Sui, good morning.”

He said and withdrew his hand, but couldn’t pull it out. He failed to divert his attention.

“How does it feel?”

Yan Sui let go of the hand that was covering Meng Ting’s hand and pinched the tender flesh of his cheek.

Meng Ting blinked and said truthfully, “Very good… to touch.”

He had never touched anyone else before, but all his senses told him that when he touched Yan Sui, he wasn’t repulsed in any way, and he even grew to like it more and more.

As he spoke, he reached out and touched it openly a few more times, and then confirmed to Yan Sui, “You are my person. I can touch you, right?”

“Um,” Yan Sui responded, with a hint of helplessness in his expression. Meng Ting might find it difficult to understand how hard it was to endure, and always took the liberty of raising the limits of what he needed to endure.

After fooling around in bed for a while, the two of them still got up as usual to jog, walk the dog, play with the cat, and then have breakfast. After breakfast, Yan Sui didn’t immediately go back upstairs to change clothes and go to the company. He walked to the sofa and sat down, then reached out to hug Meng Yin who was holding Maoqiu.

“I asked Gu Lang to help organize a gathering. They are all those people in my Moments. The gathering will be by the sea in the western suburbs. We will set off at around two o’clock in the afternoon. If you like it, we will stay for one night. If you don’t like it, we will come back early.”

When Yan Sui spoke, Meng Ting looked at him. After Yan Sui finished speaking, Meng Ting thought for a moment before nodding.

“Then I’ll take Maoqiu and Dahuang to the shelter in a little while.”

He still remembered what Zhen Han said about taking Maoqiu and Dahuang back for follow-up consultations every three days. Today was their third day at the Yan’s residence.

Yan Sui still held him in his arms and did not get up. Meng Ting said again, “I remember the way. You can go about your business.”

In fact, Yan Sui thought it would be better to just call Zhen Han to come over, but Meng Ting had a temperament that didn’t seem to like bothering others. That day, Li Yi came over early in the morning to give him medical treatment, and he had to say thank you seriously.

“Fine, but I’ll have to let Zhao Bing follow you so I can rest assured.”

Meng Ting nodded obediently. Although he didn’t think it was particularly necessary, he didn’t refuse Yan Sui’s good intention.

Yan Sui sat with Meng Ting for a while, and then he got up and went upstairs, but still did not go to the company. Instead, he went to the study room, where he had been working this morning.
Not long after, Wang Feng arrived.

“Arrange the schedule. I need to have seven days free after the wedding.”

Wang Feng couldn’t think of anything that would require Yan Sui to have seven days free, but he still nodded, “Yes.”

He was still thinking about it, and Yan Sui gave him the answer himself.

“Do you think it’s better to travel domestically or abroad?”

When Wang Feng heard this, a row of ellipses expanded wirelessly in his heart. What kind of trip was this? It was obviously a honeymoon trip. He never expected that Yan Sui would follow such a trend.

“There are places with good scenery in the country, but in terms of freedom, it is better to go abroad. How about… you ask Mr. Meng?”

Yan Sui pondered for a moment, waved his hand, and asked Wang Feng to start planning his itinerary first before discussing further.

He thought it was somewhat unnecessary to ask Meng Ting this kind of question. Apart from Donglin Town, Meng Ting probably hadn’t explored much, not even in Haicheng. There is no difference between domestic and foreign countries for him.

However, the meaning of honeymoon travel is always different, so he need to be careful. If Meng Ting like it, he can take him out to play more often in the future.

Of course, the fact that he had this idea did not mean that he suddenly changed from an old-fashioned person into a romantic person. Before he arrived at the company yesterday morning, he first met with the psychologist introduced by Li Yi and chatted with him for nearly two hours.

Even the doctor said that Meng Ting’s condition should not be rushed. But it’s always good to take him out for a walk more often, broaden his horizons, and relax his mind.

After Yan Sui thought about it for a while, the word honeymoon came to mind, but having seven days free also meant that he would be particularly busy before the wedding and after the trip.

That’s why he didn’t insist on accompanying Meng Ting to take the two little guys to the shelter.

***

Zhen Han’s pet hospital is doing pretty well. The beauty department starts at eight o’clock in the morning and continues until eight o’clock in the evening. There is basically no free time. Many people who bring pets have to make reservations in advance.

However, this kind of reservation is the responsibility of the two little girls at the front desk, so it’s no trouble for Zhen Han himself. However, he was actually ‘reserved’ today.

“Your sister-in-law will be there soon.”

Immediately after he received Yan Sui’s message, another message was sent.

“Keep your hands to yourself.”

Zhen Han stared at the two messages for a long time, and then let out a ‘hehe’ laugh.

The laughter has the unique coldness of the Yan family. The scalps of the two male nurses who passed by his sofa throne tightened slightly, a little frightened.

It’s so early now, there should be no one who dares to touch their director’s things, right?

He didn’t have to wait long before Meng Ting, holding Maoqiu in one hand and Dahuang in the other, followed by Zhao Bing, who was tall and strong and dressed in black, arrived.

“Excuse me, do you have a reservation?” One of the girls at the front desk asked Meng Ting with a smile. He came with cats and dogs. It was easy to guess what he was here for.

Meng Ting shook his head, glanced around, and said, “I’m looking for Zhen Han. I’m his cousin-in-law.”

“Cousin-in-law…” The girl at the front desk couldn’t control her voice, which was a little weird… Even now that same-sex marriage is recognized by law, there are very few men who would call themselves as such so solemnly. What’s more, Meng Ting looks really young and doesn’t look like a married person at all.

Meng Ting was not good at talking to people, especially creatures like ‘girls’. Their emotions were easily stirred as if he had said something extraordinary. But he didn’t say anything wrong. Zhen Han was Yan Sui’s cousin, so he was his cousin-in-law.

“Is he here?” he asked hesitantly.

“I’m here. Sister-in-law, you’re here. come in,” Zhen Han saw Meng Ting from the window of the reception area. Even if Yan Sui didn’t send those two text messages, he wouldn’t have neglected him. He waved his hand to the girl at the front desk, indicating that Meng Ting would be taken care of.

Meng Ting quietly breathed a sigh of relief. He nodded and followed Zhen Han.

And then there was a series of examinations for Maoqiu and Dahuang. Zhen Han is definitely a professional pet doctor. He was very good at dealing with cats and dogs, but he still required assistance in some areas. Originally, he thought of calling a nurse in, but seeing that Meng Ting was doing a good job, he decided not to.

“They like you.”

“Um, I like them too.”

Meng Ting reached out and rubbed the somewhat languid Dahuang, which rubbed against Meng Ting’s hand, enjoying his touch.

“Its wounds are healing quite fast. Another month or so and it will be healed.”

Zhen Han said and looked at Maoqiu in the cage at Meng Ting’s feet, “Maoqiu will take a little longer, probably two to three months.”

Even he couldn’t figure out why Meng Ting gave this little kitten a name like Maoqiu. Is it an expectation of its future; growing a lot of fur and eating until it becomes a ball1T/N: The cat name, Maoqiu 毛球 (máo qiú) literally means furball.? No need to be said, but that’s really what Meng Ting had in mind.

Meng Ting nodded seriously when he heard this, “I understand. We are not in a hurry, as long as it gets better.”

Hearing this, the corner of Zhen Han’s lips curled up, it could be considered a smile. As a doctor, some aspects are interlinked. When he first saw Meng Ting, he felt that there was something wrong with him. It was not that he had ulterior motives or threatened Yan Sui, but that he had deficiencies.

This kind of problem can be big or small. Originally, he was quite concerned about Yan Sui, but after two encounters, it turns out that he was the one who made an unwarranted fuss.

Meng Ting is able to communicate with people normally. He only behaves a little withdrawn to the outside world and occasionally slows down for a beat or two. This is not an intolerable problem.

Meng Ting carried Dahuang down from the cot, put a leash on him, soothed him, and carried Maoqiu out of the cage. Then he stood up straight and looked at Zhen Han, “Thank you.”

As he said this, he was about to take Dahuang and Maoqiu away but was stopped by Zhen Han.

“Wait a minute. You take Dahuang and Maoqiu and wait outside for a bit. I’ll change my clothes and go to the Yan’s residence with you, and then we’ll go to the beach together at noon.”

Meng Ting blinked as if he just realized that Zhen Han was also part of Yan Sui’s Moments. He was among the people hanging out together.

“I can wait.”

Meng Ting couldn’t think of any reason or necessity to refuse. He held Dahuang in his hand and Maoqiu in his arms, and went outside to wait.

Soon after, Zhen Han really followed him to Yan’s residence.

***

Yan Sui stood by the window and answered the phone. From a distance, he saw two people who were talking quite a lot coming from the gate. He told Zhen Han to control his hands, but he forgot to tell him to control his mouth. That chatterbox couldn’t say enough when he found Meng Ting who was willing to listen to him.

It’s just that Yan Sui didn’t guess that what Zhen Han was talking about was nothing else, but some unknown gossip and dark history about him.

“Don’t look at how upright he looks, but he’s actually a black-hearted man. I don’t know how many black pots2黑鍋 (hēi guō): (literally) black wok; (figuratively) blame for a crime; bear the blame; scapegoat. Gu Lang and I took for him when we were young.”

Meng Ting looked up at Zhen Han with a look of disbelief. However, he was clumsy and couldn’t think of anything particularly powerful to say to protect others. He emphasized, “No, Yan Sui is very good.”

“Tsk, that’s because you don’t know. Just listen to me.”

Crackle… Nine-year-old Yan Sui led them to destroy the flower field cultivated by Uncle Zeng next door. In the end, both he and Gu Lang were beaten. Only Yan Sui was fine, Uncle Zeng even gave him biscuits and praised him.

Although Zhen Han’s story has a beginning and an end, with a plot and sound effects, which is very convincing, Meng Ting still thinks Yan Sui is good.

“Grandpa Zeng thinks Yan Sui is good, and I think so too.”

All of Zhen Han’s passionate accusations were automatically ignored by Meng Ting.

Zhen Han felt the feeling of wanting to vomit blood that Meng Qi had always felt when facing Meng Ting. His temper was stubborn, once he decided on something, it was hard to change. It wasn’t easy to shake the image of Yan Sui in his heart.

“Also, he doesn’t seem happy unless he beats up a few people every time we have a gathering. He is a completely violent person.”

In fact, Meng Ting didn’t like it when others spoke ill of Yan Sui. He puffed out his cheeks and turned his head, still unable to think of any other way other than fighting. His gaze swept around, and suddenly he caught sight of Yan Sui standing by the window watching them. The frustration in his heart suddenly dissipated.

He let go of Dahuang’s leash, and waved at Yan Sui. The smile on his face suddenly brightened.

“I know. Yan Sui is very powerful. You guys will definitely not be able to defeat him.” Meng Ting’s face was filled with pride——proud of Yan Sui.

So they deserve to be beaten up?

Zhen Han was sure that Meng Ting was a good boy, but lacked a truly upright outlook on life. He had a nearly blind belief and admiration for Yan Sui. Even though he had wasted so much time arguing, he still hadn’t brought Yan Sui down from the pedestal in his heart.

Of course, the reality was far from what he said. When Yan Sui beat someone up, it was to teach a few troublemakers a lesson, sometimes even working together with their families to discipline them, and he wouldn’t let them go until they lost their temper. He can no longer be described as brutal.

As time went by, there were few in their generation who were not afraid of Yan Sui. Especially as he smiled less and less. At every gathering, he was truly a veritable cooling machine, the kind that use a nuclear power station to generate power; emitting an astonishing power.

It was unknown whether with Meng Ting around, Yan Sui could refrain from being such a mood spoiler.

Seeing Yan Sui, Meng Ting didn’t want to listen to Zhen Han anymore. He quickened his pace to send Dahuang back to his kennel and put Maoqiu on the sofa. He was about to get up and go upstairs to find Yan Sui, but the person he was looking for was already coming down the stairs.

“We’re back.” Meng Ting waited for Yan Sui to approach and immediately stretched out his hand.

“Um,” Yan Sui responded, rubbing Meng Ting’s hair, “Thank you for your hard work.”

“It’s not hard,” Meng Ting shook his head. He had already nuzzled into Yan Sui’s arms, completely forgetting about Zhen Han who had followed him all the way back.

Zhen Han wasn’t completely oblivious either. Even from a distance near the window, he received Yan Sui’s warning. He sat on the sofa with his back to them, petting the cat. After Meng Ting and Yan Sui had enough intimate time, and the two came over holding hands, he finally spoke.

“I’m here to mooch a meal. We’ll head over together later.”

He suddenly leaned forward, “Nanny Wang, don’t forget my meal. I want to eat braised chicken wings3紅燒雞翅 (hóng shāo jī chì): Braised Chicken Wings. Braised Chicken Wings.”

Looking at Meng Ting, he continued, “Have you tried it yet? That is Nanny Wang’s specialty.”

Meng Ting glanced at him, then turned to look at the smiling Nanny Wang, and then gently shook his head, “No, but the eggplants Nanny Wang cooks are also delicious.”

When a foodie meets a foodie, there is always plenty to talk about. Zhen Han has eaten all kinds of Chinese and foreign delicacies. Just talking about eggplant, he knows seven or eight ways to cook it, speaking eloquently. Meng Ting’s eyes became brighter and brighter, getting hungry.

Yan Sui glanced at Zhen Han with a slightly cold gaze. In the gaps between their conversations, he rubbed Meng Ting’s hand and asked in a low voice, “Are you going to watch TV here, or go to the study to accompany me?”

Upon hearing this, Meng Ting no longer bothered to discuss food with Zhen Han. He looks up at Yan Sui and earnestly says, “Of course, I’ll accompany you. I’m just afraid that I’ll disturb you.”

“You won’t,” Yan Sui’s eyes softened a little, and then he led the person away.

How could Yan Sui not know what Zhen Han was trying to find out?

However, the progress between him and Meng Ting was much faster than they, or even he himself, had expected. Completely unexpectedly fast. He minded the fact that Meng Ting was being deliberately preoccupied with talking, and decided not to hide it.

Zhen Han tilted his head at a forty-five-degree angle for a long time, then suddenly laughed again. The sound of ‘Heh, heh, heh’ in the living room was unending.

In this lifetime, he actually witnessed Yan Sui being jealous. Um, he could post another update on his WeChat Moment.

So, in Chapter 019, YS asked LY to introduce him to a 心理醫生 (xīn lǐ yī shēng); psychologist. In this chapter, he was introduced to a 心理醫師 (xīn lǐ yī shī); psychiatrist (it could also mean psychologist). I’m not quite sure which one is correct, and it’s driving me nuts. 😅

Info dump; in case someone doesn’t know the difference. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, but psychologists are not. Psychiatrists prescribe medication, but psychologists can’t. Psychiatrists diagnose illness, manage treatment, and provide a range of therapies for complex and serious mental illness. Psychologists focus on providing psychotherapy (talk therapy) to help patients. More information: Link.

For now, I’ll just assume it’s a psychologist, since MT couldn’t take any type of medication anyway.
