When Meng Ting was talking to Nanny Wang, he caught a glimpse of Zhen Han from the corner of his eye. He paused, turned his head, and glanced at him. Just when Zhen Han thought he was going to say something, he slowly turned his head back, then stuffed another strawberry into his mouth, and his cheeks continued to puff out.
“Sister-in-law hates me?” Zhen Han knows that he is indeed quite annoying in some aspects. But so far, he probably hasn’t exposed it to Meng Ting, and Meng Ting is not that sensitive.
Meng Ting gave Zhen Han a slightly surprised look when he heard this, but still shook his head.
Zhen Han had a smile on his face. He walked over and sat on the sofa next door. He raised his chin slightly and said with certainty, “Then my sister-in-law likes me.” Soft and cute, really easy to deceive.
He was pleased with himself for a moment, but then he saw Meng Ting shaking his head again. He neither likes nor hates him, what does that mean?
“You’re Yan Sui’s cousin. I don’t hate you, but I also don’t like you for speaking ill of Yan Sui.”
After Meng Ting came out with this big truth, the living room fell silent. Nanny Wang lowered her head and petted the cat for a while, then glanced at the remote control on the table and immediately turned on the TV. The sound of the drama series came up, and the awkward and condensed atmosphere in the living room seemed to get better.
But Nanny Wang still gave Zhen Han a disapproving look; how could he speak ill of Yan Sui behind their back? No need to mention that Meng Ting didn’t like it, even she and and Uncle Xiao didn’t like it either.
“Haha,” Zhen Han touched his nose and laughed in a way that was hard to distinguish between happiness and anger. When he looked again, Meng Ting was already watching TV seriously with Nanny Wang.
“I hate you, I hate you, I hate you… mmm.”
“Cough, cough,” Zhen Han’s gaze swept towards the TV and coughed in a low voice. As luck would have it, it was the scene where the male and female protagonists were kissing. He glanced at Meng Ting again and found that he still didn’t look embarrassed. There was some doubt in his eyes, and as the plot continued to progress, his doubt turned into confusion…
Zhen Han suddenly felt that Yan Sui was a bit of a beast. This Meng Ting obviously doesn’t understand anything. This is a melodramatic1狗血 (gǒu xiě): lit. dog’s blood; melodramatic; contrived; (neologism, figurative, usually of a story) nonsensical, exaggerated, inconceivable, clumsy or clichéd (to the point it has become farcical and somewhat amusing); an internet term, refers to plots in TV series that are constantly being remade and imitated. It is used to describe those similar plots that often appear, poor imitations, or very exaggerated and fake performances. Nowadays, “excessive and deliberate” sensational performances and plots are usually called ‘dog’s blood’, which refers to vulgar plots that was familiar to people. youth campus idol drama where one can guess the flow of the story and the ending from the beginning. He couldn’t even understand it and was all confused at every kiss scene…
So these two people seem to be intimate, but in fact, they are still at the stage of holding hands and hugging each other? This Yan Sui is also so useless!
Zhen Han watched TV while various thoughts flew around in his mind. Meng Ting, who was sitting on the sofa next to him, was really watching TV. Despite being confused, his confusion was also about the plot of the TV series. As a result, the three people who were too preoccupied didn’t even know when Yan Sui came downstairs.
Nanny Wang was the first to discover Yan Sui. Without being reminded, she stood up and gave up her seat.
Yan Sui sat down and put his hand on Meng Ting’s waist. Meng Ting’s eyes were fixed on the TV, and his body leaned towards Yan Sui consciously. As soon as the camera on the TV switched, Meng Ting also looked away. He turned his head and looked at Yan Sui, “You’re down. Are you tired? Are you thirsty?”
“Not tired, not thirsty,” Yan Sui said, tightening his grip even more, so that Meng Ting was almost in his arms.
Meng Ting is a normal seventeen-year-old boy. His bone structure is naturally not small, but Yan Sui feels that the position in his arms fits him particularly well. As Meng Ting said, they are a good match, in every sense of the word.
Seeing that Meng Ting was still looking at him, Yan Sui asked again, “Is it interesting?”
Meng Ting hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “It’s not bad, but there are some parts that are quite strange.”
“They already said that they hated the other person, but they still kissed. Isn’t kissing only allowed for the people you like?”
Meng Ting also knew that what he thought might not be what the world thought was right, but he still stubbornly said, “Anyway, I don’t kiss people I hate. I kiss you, Maoqiu, and Dahuang.”
Not to mention Yan Sui himself, who faced Meng Ting directly; even Zhen Han and Nanny Wang, who were listening on the sidelines, felt numb in their hearts.
Juxtaposed with Maoqiu and Dahuang, this feeling is a bit subtle, but it cannot be denied that Meng Ting’s ‘love words’ are still quite effective for Yan Sui.
He stretched out his hand to rub Meng Ting’s hair, then rubbed his cheeks, “You’re right.”
Meng Ting was a little surprised when he heard this, and then nodded happily. He moved closer and said, “Yan Sui, everything you said is also right.”
It feels good to be affirmed by Yan Sui. If not for the fact that there are still people around, he would definitely kiss Yan Sui. He pursed his lips slightly as he thought about it, and Yan Sui’s gaze also followed and moved to his lips.
“Ahem…”
“Ahem,” Nanny Wang and Zhen Han both coughed lightly to announce their presence, but they also stood up.
“I’m going back upstairs to the restroom.”
“I’ll take Maoqiu to see Dahuang.”
The two people finally found an excuse to leave this sticky living room before the power of their light bulbs was completely depleted.
Meng Ting turned his head and looked. When he saw that the two people’s backs were completely gone, he no longer hesitated to hold the hand he wanted to hug and straddle Yan Sui’s lap.
He held the person firmly with both hands and his feet also resting on Yan Sui’s legs. When it comes to possessiveness, Meng Ting may be slightly better than Yan Sui in terms of words and deeds.
A helpless smile spread across Yan Sui’s face, but he allowed Meng Ting’s overly dominant hugging posture.
Meng Ting rubbed against Yan Sui’s cheek, “Just now when they were there, I had to endure so hard not to hug you. I want to hug you for a while longer.”
“Okay,” Yan Sui responded. His gaze fell on Meng Ting’s smiling face. He leaned a little closer, and his lips landed on the center of his eyebrows. Meng Ting’s eyelashes trembled slightly but he didn’t close his eyes. Instead, he took the initiative to raise his face and said with a smile, “I also had to hold back before and didn’t kiss you. Now I can kiss you…”
Before Meng Ting could finish his sentence, Yan Sui blocked his mouth with his lips and directly solved Meng Ting’s doubts with his actions.
Meng Ting pushed with the foot that wasn’t on Yan Sui’s leg, and he sat directly on Yan Sui’s lap. He was originally slightly shorter than Yan Sui, and this position made up for their slight height difference.
The two of them parted their lips and then looked at each other again. Yan Sui hugged Meng Ting’s waist, while Meng Ting cupped Yan Sui’s face. They kissed each other once again, their lips and tongues collided with each other, thunder from the sky stirring up fire from the earth2天雷勾動地火 (tiān léi gōu dòng dì huǒ): Describe a very scary natural force; also often borrowed in romance novels, when used together, it often refers to the irresistible primitive instinctive desires that nature has given to humans; describe abundance of passion and sexual energy.. The tingling sensation and nerve-stirring palpitations swept over their souls in an instant, and their heartbeats accelerated; like two deer, running and jumping wildly with joy.
At the end of the kiss, the two people pressed their foreheads against each other for a long time before they slowly opened their eyes. After looking at each other, they couldn’t help but smile at each other.
The shyness was a little less intense than when they were intimate in the past, but the feeling of warmth and tenderness was increasing day by day. Kissing like this is becoming more and more addictive, not only for Meng Ting but also for Yan Sui.
Meng Ting put his arms around Yan Sui’s neck and leaned on his shoulder. He looked even more well-behaved than a quiet sleeping Maoqiu. Yan Sui’s heart was completely softened into a mess.
He rubbed Meng Ting’s hair and couldn’t hold back the smile on his lips. Originally, he thought it was unlikely that he would fall in love with someone. It’s even more impossible to kiss someone in his own living room.
But things are unpredictable. He fell in love with someone, and the most impossible thing happened. Even he himself was not sure what would happen next, but one thing that was certain was that he was already looking forward to such an unexpected occurrence.

Zhen Han went back upstairs just as an excuse. He sat in the room for a while and felt that it was almost time, so he came down.
But when he went downstairs, looking at the two people who were still hugging each other and inseparable, the veins on his forehead jumped unconsciously. He is single and has no boyfriend to show off, so why should he be bullied like this? It’s so disrespectful!
“Ahem…” he was about to cough again to declare his presence when Yan Sui turned his head and gave him a warning look.
When Zhen Han walked over to him in uncertainty, Yan Sui picked the person up and lowered his voice.
“He fell asleep.”
“Oh,” Zhen Han nodded immediately after hearing this. Not only his voice but his movements were also lighter. He turned his back, then turned around again, and asked in a low voice, “Then…are we still going?”
It’s already two o’clock now. By the time they get to the seaside, it will be around four o’clock. Play in the water for a while, watch the sunset, and then head back to the villa for some drinks, chat, dancing, and singing; their usual gathering activities.
If they wait for Meng Ting to wake up and then go, they probably won’t be able to see the sunset, so there is no point in choosing a beach.
“Let’s go,” Yan Sui said, and with his words, he started walking outside. They waited for a moment by the front door of the living room. Uncle brought a suitcase and a long cloak in his hand. He came closer and carefully draped it over Meng Ting, who was in Yan Sui’s arms and then took two steps back.
Yan Sui turned around and walked ahead with the person in his arms, while Zhen Han and Uncle Xiao followed two steps behind.
Uncle Xiao handed the suitcase to Zhao Bing, who put it in the trunk. Yan Sui had already sat in the back seat with Meng Ting in his arms, while Zhen Han also sat in the passenger seat.
Uncle Xiao took another two steps back, bowed slightly, and watched their car drive away. After a long time, a slight smile appeared on his overly serious face.
Their patriarch really likes his wife, just like his two previous masters. This is good, this is good.

The car drove on the asphalt road along the seashore. Zhao Bing’s superb driving skills were put to good use today. Even when making big turns, he tried his best to drive in a straight lane. The car drove on a good road, and there was no messy sound, so Meng Ting had a good sleep in Yan Sui’s arms.
On the contrary, Zhen Han was somewhat depressed. In his Moments, he sent a row of [shh3噓 (xū): to slowly exhale; to sigh; to lament; to praise; to flatter; to heat by steam or fire; (Mandarin, interjection) hush! shh!; hooting; boo; disapproval sound; to boo. Emoticon: 🤫 ] emoticons, which shows that he was wronged.
Originally, he wanted to go with Yan Sui and Meng Ting because he thought he could have a pleasant conversation along the way. But Meng Ting, the only one willing to listen to him, actually fell asleep in Yan Sui’s arms before they even set off.
Without Yan Sui needing to warn him, he didn’t dare to make any noise. He scrolled through his Moments, knowing he would have to wait it out.
Yan Sui glanced at his watch. Meng Ting had been asleep for about an hour and a half. He reached out to ruffle the fluffy head in his arms, trying to wake him up. However, Meng Ting just snuggled his hand and mumbled something softly before continuing to sleep soundly.
His face was filled with tranquility, and Yan Sui’s resolve to wake people up suddenly became less firm.
Meng Ting has never been able to sleep well. Now that he’s sleeping well, he should let him be.
With this in mind, Yan Sui continued to hold the person tightly, patting him from time to time, and Meng Ting fell asleep completely again.
The car stopped in front of a three-story compound villa. Standing on a golden beach that was visible in front of the villa, a group of men wearing only beach shorts who saw them from a distance rushed towards them. Those who stayed in the villa chatting and talking flocked out when they heard the noise.
Zhen Han got out of the car first, and several people immediately greeted him.
“Han Zi, how come you…”
However, Zhen Han’s first action after getting out of the car was the same expression he showed in his Moments. He raised his index finger to his lips, his expression was extremely serious, and the volume of the person speaking to him was visibly lowered.
“…come in Yan Lao Da’s car?”
Zhao Bing got out of the car, walked to the back seat, and opened the door. Yan Sui got out of the car first and then carried Meng Ting out of the car.
Meng Ting was still wrapped in a cloak, with most of his face covered. He also leaned his face against Yan Sui’s chest. It was strange to see this scene unfold.
This vividly demonstrated what it means to be ‘coaxed to come out after countless calls4千呼萬喚始出來 (qiān hū wàn huàn shǐ chū lái): T/N: Excerpt from 《Pipa Xing》 [琵琶行 (Pí pa Xíng)] by Bai Juyi; Yet we called and urged a thousand times before she started toward us; We urged her over and again until she appeared; Many a time we beckoned until she made her appearance. More information: Link 1; Link 2.‘ Initially they were just curious about what Yan Sui’s wife looked like, but it had now turned into a heart-wrenching curiosity.
This group of people was eager to speak and had their mouths open, but when Yan Sui’s gaze swept over them, it was all frozen at their throats, almost choking themselves to death.
They only knew that they couldn’t speak, but they didn’t know why exactly they couldn’t speak. They didn’t dare to signal Yan Sui with their eyes. They stared at Zhen Han until their eyes were about to pop out, but Zhen Han himself still pursed his lips and shook his head, refusing to reveal anything.
Having held back all the way, naturally, he wanted them to experience the frustrating sensation of wanting to speak but not being able to.
“Yan Sui! You, this master, how come it’s only now that you arrive? The sun is about to set, can’t you see!”
Gu Lang, who couldn’t see Yan Sui and Zhen Han’s meaningful gaze, was on the second floor. He leaned out half of his body and stretched his neck. Fearing that Yan Sui and the others wouldn’t be able to hear his voice, he roared to his heart’s content.
Meng Ting had slept for two hours. In fact, it was almost time to wake up. It’s just that Yan Sui’s embrace instinctively made him feel at ease. Even though his consciousness was vague, he still wanted to stay a little longer.
But now that Gu Lang yelled, his vagueness that seemed to be awake but not awake disappeared. His body stiffened slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes, and then met many frustrated and curious glances.
He stiffened again, his eyes raised slightly in confusion. When he glanced at Yan Sui’s profile, his heart calmed down again.
“Yan Sui, what’s wrong?”
Meng Ting asked in a lowered voice.
“It’s nothing. Are you still sleepy? If you want to sleep, you can continue sleeping.”
Yan Sui glanced down. The coldness and solemnity in his eyes when looking at Gu Lang suddenly dispersed a little. Although other people couldn’t feel the difference at all.
Meng Ting continued to hold on to his hand around Yan Sui’s neck, and then gently shook his head, “I’m not sleepy anymore. Where are we?” In fact, he still wanted to ask why all those people around him were staring at his Yan Sui.
“The seaside in the western suburbs. We’ve arrived.”
Yan Sui said as he raised his feet and continued walking inside. Even if Meng Ting woke up, he had no intention of putting the person down.
Meng Ting looked at those people’s overly strange gazes; a little worried that Yan Sui would be snatched away, so relying on Yan Sui this way is just right. He didn’t say such words as coming down to walk on his own either.
Meanwhile, the expressions of the onlookers have changed from unanimous bewilderment to all sorts of weirdness.
Is this Yan Sui? Is this wife-doting devil Yan Sui?
It’s only been a few days since the last gathering organized by Gu Lang. How could such a bizarre thing happen?
Gu Lang felt that he had made a mistake and didn’t dare to stretch his neck to look at the sky on the second floor anymore. He nimbly came down, took the key, and personally led Yan Sui and Meng Ting to the room prepared for them.
“Little Sister-in-law, don’t mind. They are all my and Yan Sui’s friends outside. You rest for a while first and come out later. I… no, it’s Yan Lao Da who will introduce you.”
After finishing his words, Gu Lang took three steps back and left the room, closing the door behind him.
After realizing it, Meng Ting loosened his grip on Yan Sui’s neck, “It’s good, it’s good.” He breathed a sigh of relief.
“What’s good?” Yan Sui carefully looked at Meng Ting’s expression. Seeing that there was no discomfort on his face, he placed the person on the only sofa in the room, but still maintained the posture of hugging the person and withdrew his hand.
“It’s good that they’re not the people who are lining up to marry you.”
Meng Ting came up and rubbed Yan Sui’s cheek again, “You are my person.”
Meng Ting’s eyes were bright and clean. When he said these words, flirting with Yan Sui is a sure thing.
He raised his hand to rub Meng Ting’s hair, his eyes were completely soft, and he whispered, “I know.”
“I’m your person.”
“Um,” Meng Ting nodded, then leaned forward and kissed Yan Sui’s cheek. Only then did he completely let go of his hand that was holding Yan Sui tightly.
He got up and pushed open the window, “This is the seaside? It’s so beautiful.”
The sea is light blue and clean, with black reefs and golden sandy beaches. The sea breeze is warm and salty, with the sound of the waves coming and going.
The orange-red sunlight slanted in, and Meng Ting’s entire body was enveloped in a bunch of orange-red light and shadow. His slightly curly hair swayed with the wind, which was softer than the waves.
Yan Sui was fascinated. Meng Ting suddenly turned his head. With his cheeks tinged with the faint red of the sunset, his long eyelashes left a row of silhouettes. His cherry-colored lips moved slightly as he said, “As beautiful as you, Yan Sui.”
LoL, I keep thinking that the excerpt from the poem mentioned above is so familiar somehow. Turns out, the excerpt of this same poem (different part) is also mentioned in my other translation; The Susceptible Period is Drawn Out by the Sworn Enemy, Chapter 13. So, here’s the copy of my note there: 《Pipa Xing》 [琵琶行 (Pí pa Xíng)], variously translated as “Song of the Pipa” or “Ballad of the Lute”, a Tang dynasty poem composed in 816 by the Chinese poet Bai Juyi, one of the greatest poets in Chinese history. The poem contains a description of a pipa performance during a chance encounter with a performer near the Yangtze River. More information: Link, Video Link 1, Video Link 2.
