BMHS Chapter 032.2

There were about thirty people who came to this gathering. Most of the people who can been considered Yan Sui’s good friends since childhood came, creating an unprecedented lively atmosphere. Even if Yan Sui violently abused everyone again, and again, it couldn’t stop their burning heart of gossip.

Gu Lang and Zhen Han, who knew a little more, had been interrogated several times by everyone, but there was still very little information about Meng Ting. Except for the identity of the illegitimate son of the Meng family, which was known to the public, little else was known about him.

Now that they had seen him in person, just like in the photos that Yan Sui had shared, Meng Ting looked very well-behaved, soft, and cute. But it was hard to believe that Yan Sui would like someone of this type. It’s not that Meng Ting’s personality is bad, it’s just that he really doesn’t suit Yan Sui.

“Where are they not suitable? Our Sister-in-law is quite good,” Zhen Han suddenly interjected, slightly countering Rong Nan’s somewhat euphemistic statement. It doesn’t matter whether he like it or not, but he couldn’t stand outsiders saying anything negative about Meng Ting.

He swept a glance at Rong Nan, not wanting to delve into the underlying reasons for his words. After he finished rebuking this statement, he continued with what he was doing——washing the dishes. This was his third time washing the same plate, and at the moment, he was contemplating whether to wash it for the fourth time.

“It’s not that he’s not good, I just feel sorry for my Senior Brother. These few years hadn’t been easy for him, and now, he also had a child with such a temperament…” His words trailed off as Yan Sui returned with Meng Ting hand in hand.

Yan Sui ruffled Meng Ting’s hair, showing a sense of indulgence without the need for further explanation. What was even more noticeable was the faint smile at the corner of his mouth. He rarely smiled like this, but it was the most common expression he had when facing Meng Ting.

If Rong Nan really felt sorry for Yan Sui’s difficulties in these years, he should feel relieved at this moment.

In this life, it’s not easy to find someone in one’s life who can make one smile from the bottom of one’s heart. But obviously, Yan Sui was lucky. At the most appropriate time, he met someone who could make him smile.

“Yan Lao Da, Sister-in-law, come quickly. We are having a barbecue today, and everyone has to do something.”

Gu Lang said loudly. When Meng Ting raised his eyes and looked over, he smiled and said, “Sister-in-law is an exception. Whatever you want to eat, let Yan Lao Da grill it for you.”

“Will it be difficult? I also want to grill food for Yan Sui.”

Meng Ting’s gaze swept around the room. He didn’t know if he could do it well with his clumsiness.

“It’s not difficult, it’s not difficult.” Gu Lang resisted the urge to cover his heart. He found that Meng Ting showed off even more uncontrollably than Yan Sui. On the contrary, he was so sincere that he had no idea that what he said was words that stab the center of people’s heart.

No one offered to grill food for him. Gu Lang, holding back his tears, continued, “Wash clean the ingredients, then use the skewers…”

“Um?” Meng Ting listened attentively. When he noticed that Gu Lang suddenly stopped talking, he was slightly puzzled.

Gu Lang’s body stiffened for a moment as he held Yan Sui’s gaze, and he murmured, “Yan Lao Da understands. Let him teach you.”

After saying these words, Yan Sui’s gaze finally moved away from him. Gu Lang felt relieved as Yan Sui moved past him. His face was so creased that it looked like he was about to cry. He had no desire to become the focus of Yan Sui’s attention in the future. He still wanted to enjoy his youth while he could.

Meng Ting’s expression brightened a bit upon hearing this. He turned to look at Yan Sui and whispered, “Will you teach me?”

“I’ll teach you.”

Yan Sui said as he led Meng Ting towards the sink. After playing outside for a while, it was necessary to wash their hands.

Before Meng Ting could make a move, Yan Sui deftly rolled up his sleeves. Meng Ting raised his eyes and looked at Yan Sui, then obediently stood still and let Yan Sui help him.

The sleeves on both sides were rolled up. Yan Sui turned on the faucet first, then took Meng Ting’s hand and put it under the water, rubbed it, and added some hand soap. Meng Ting didn’t move, and Yan Sui quickly helped him washed his hands clean. Yan Sui then took out a handkerchief and dried Meng Ting’s hands.

Only then did he wash himself again. The handkerchief was grabbed by Meng Ting, “I’ll help you.”

After saying that, he lowered his head and wiped Yan Sui’s hands, then he carefully put the handkerchief into his pocket before he added, “I’ll help you wash it at home.”

“Okay.”

Yan Sui could feel Meng Ting’s desire to return his favor. This feeling was warm and special, and he simply couldn’t refuse it.

The people around them couldn’t bear to look at them anymore. Just washing hands, but they have to be abused all over again. It was really too cruel.

***

Yan Sui took Meng Ting to teach him how to skewer some food and ingredients, apply some sauce, and then put them on the barbecue grill. Yan Sui didn’t do it very well, but he still knew some of the processes. He and Meng Ting were mainly responsible for skewering the ingredients.

On the other side, there is a specially invited chef preparing food. They started cooking roasted suckling pig1烤乳豬 (kǎo rǔ zhū): suckling pig is a piglet fed on its mother’s milk (i.e., a piglet which is still a “suckling”). In culinary contexts, a suckling pig is slaughtered between the ages of two and six weeks. It is traditionally cooked whole, often roasted, in various cuisines. It is usually prepared for special occasions and gatherings. T/N: The pic is kinda gruesome, so I won’t attach it. and some seafood in the morning. As the aroma wafts up, even those who are not hungry will become greedy. What’s more, they have been playing and having fun all day long, so they are naturally hungry now.

Gu Lang led a few people to set up a long table on the sandy area in front of the villa, which was large enough to accommodate everyone. They wiped down the table and chairs, arranged plates, knives, forks, and wine glasses, displayed various fruits, brought out the already grilled food, and presented the freshly roasted suckling pig.

“Get it sliced, get it sliced. We can’t do it here.”

Zhen Han didn’t care about appearances; anyone who dared to splash him with gravy would have to face him one on one.

They were all about casual dining; no one cared about presentation.

The chef and an assistant carried the roasted suckling pig down again. After a lot of fussing, the large ingredients were finally skewered by the busy work of everyone. The ones in charge of grilling also finished cooking two large metal trays.

“Come, come, come, everyone, sit down. They were grilling, we’ll eat first.”

After hearing this, Yan Sui took Meng Ting to the sink and washed his hands before coming over.

Only a faint light remained on the horizon, but it was still bright enough to see people clearly. Then, Gu Lang flipped a switch, and the sandy area was brightly lit up.

As everyone came over and sat down, Yan Sui glanced around, and then said, “Let’s eat.”

Fortunately, there was no alcohol in their mouths; otherwise, they would have been stimulated by his word and spit it out. Even just for the sake of it, Yan Sui should have said something different. What kind of statement was ‘Let’s eat’?

While others silently criticized in their hearts, Meng Ting was very happy. He had been greedy for a long time, so why not eat earlier?

Yan Sui turned his head and looked at Meng Ting, his voice lowered a little, “Eat.”

“Um, you eat too.”

The crowd was also hungry. After the couple started eating, the others began to eat as well. Occasionally, they would lower their heads to chat, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

“Yan Lao Da, I’d like to propose a toast to you and Sister-in-law. I wish you a happy marriage lasting a hundred years.”

“Right, wish you a happy marriage lasting a hundred years!”

Shi He took the lead, and the others joined in cheering, opening bottles, pouring wine, and keeping busy. They wouldn’t let Yan Sui get away without drinking.

Shi He, well done!

How many scenery did Yan Sui ruin in the past? Now that they finally had a chance, could they come back without making a fuss?

Yan Sui was mentally prepared before he came here. He raised his wine glass and gently shook it, “Meng Ting is still young. He won’t drink alcohol today. How about some juice?”

Yan Sui is so shameless that he is invincible in the world. This sentence came to the mind of almost everyone present, especially because he was shameless in a dignified and imposing manner. They never expected that such a young wife could still be used in this way.

Meng Ting bit into a piece of meat, cheeks keep moving as he looked around with his eyes rolling, eventually returning his gaze to Yan Sui. His heart and eyes were full of admiration. Meng Ting’s drinking capacity was particularly low, and Yan Sui knew this without asking. He was truly amazing.

“Little Sister-in-law doesn’t drink, Yan Lao Da, you still have to drink.”

Shi He, facing various gazes, voiced the heartfelt thoughts of the majority of people present.
Yan Sui glanced away. First, he gave Meng Ting a clip of vegetable salad2蔬菜沙拉 (shū cài shā lā): Vegetable Salad. Vegetable Salad and said, “Vegetables should be eaten as well.”

“Um,” Meng Ting immediately clipped up the vegetables with his chopsticks upon hearing this, stuffed them into his mouth, and then smiled sweetly at Yan Sui.

Yan Sui’s expression softened slightly. He turned back to look at Shi He, then raised his glass and drank the red wine in one gulp.

“Great!”

“It’s still Sister-in-law who’s capable.”

Shi He was almost defeated, but Meng Ting’s smile made Yan Sui drink it willingly.

Meng Ting looked puzzled, unable to understand where he was capable. Nonetheless, he still picked up a piece of roasted meat and placed it on Yan Sui’s plate, “You should eat too. It’s not good to drink too much wine at once.”

“Got it,” Yan Sui put down his wine glass and was about to pick up some meat to eat, but the fork that Meng Ting hadn’t retracted yet picked up the piece of meat and brought it to Yan Sui’s mouth. Without hesitation, Yan Sui bit into it.

“This meat is tender and especially delicious.”

In Meng Ting’s view, sharing delicious food with Yan Sui is an absolutely important and necessary thing in ‘being good to Yan Sui’. After all, he is too stupid. There are too few good things he can do to a person that he can come up with, so what he has already thought of must be done.

“It’s delicious,” Yan Sui nodded. There was more smile in his eyes.

Compared to the last time when Meng Ting was hesitant to feed him cake, Meng Ting was obviously much more comfortable this time.

“Han Zi, will you feed me one too?” Gu Lang bumped into Zhen Han beside him. He was really stimulated by this pair of husbands.

Zhen Han swallowed a piece of meat and gave two words back to Gu Lang, “Go die.”

The spoon he ate from, Gu Lang still dare to touch and see what he’d do?

Gu Lang was so stimulated that he forgot about Zhen Han’s tenth-level mysophobia attribute. He turned back weakly, but Zhong Ming on the other side of him was not interested in greeting him either. He was more interested in getting Yan Sui drunk and was thinking hard about what auspicious words to say.
