BMHS Chapter 040.2

Yan Manjia couldn’t get up before nine or ten in the morning. After Yan Sui gave Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang a few more instructions, he took Meng Ting and got in the car. An hour later, they arrived at the airport, and half an hour after that, they boarded the plane. Eleven hours later, they reached the capital of Country F.

It’s now seven o’clock in the evening in Haicheng, whereas it’s only eleven o’clock in the morning in F country, and the sky is just right.

“Let’s get rid of the jet lag today. We can take our time to have fun tomorrow.”

Zhen Han, Shi He, and the others strongly recommend Country F to Yan Sui. This romantic country’s reputation is not just for show; it’s the most suitable place for someone like Yan Sui, who isn’t very good at romance. The country itself inherently possesses a romantic quality, so there’s no need for Yan Sui to overthink it. These guys are quite considerate, after all.

Of course, Yan Sui chose this place not only because of their suggestions but also because he discovered that Meng Ting liked flowers very much. Fresh bouquets of flowers adorned the living room every day. When Meng Ting chose a place to sit by himself, he would definitely sit besides the bouquets of flowers. Occasionally, he would tilt his head to smell them without realizing it.

Such details are really difficult to notice unless one is attentive. Yet, in such a short time, Yan Sui managed to catch them. The flowers in Country F bloom the most beautifully in July and August. He wanted to make Meng Ting happy, so naturally, he chose this place according to his preferences, considering both aspects before making the decision.

“Mr. Yan!”

“Mr. Yan!”

A Black individual and a Caucasian man greeted Yan Sui consecutively. When Yan Sui turned around with Meng Ting, the two people came forward and said, “Our family’s Mister learned that Mr. Yan would bring Mrs. Yan to play, so he specially asked us to pick you up.”

“The Eldest Young Master also asked me to pick you up.”

“Sir,” they had just finished speaking when a person from their Xia country came out from the other side, followed by two people. “Sir, Madam.”

Yan Sui nodded and let them take the suitcases he and Meng Ting were holding.

He looked at the two Black and Caucasian men and said, “No need. I have my own arrangements here. I will call him if necessary.”

“Tell the same to Eldest Cousin, too.”

When the two people heard Yan Sui’s words, they didn’t force themselves any further and bowed slightly to see them off.

“A branch of the Yan family arrived in country F during the early years.” The Caucasian ones are my cousin’s people. As for the black-skinned one, he’s from a friend over here.”

The Yan family has a long history. The Yan family in Haicheng is considered the main branch. The side branches have also developed quite well. His cousin’s lineage came to Country F more than a hundred years ago. With the support of the Yan family in Haicheng, they had already established themselves among the upper-class nobility in Country F. This time, it was probably after he made arrangements that his people’s actions alerted them, so his cousin also sent someone to pick him up at the airport.

As for that friend, he had previously called Yan Sui. He does not live in Country F, but his family owns a hotel. When he travels for business, they usually come to pick him up, and he goes along. Now, he is on his honeymoon with Meng Ting and doesn’t want to get too involved in socializing.

“On our way back, we can just have a casual meal with them.” Yan Sui patiently explained the side branch of the Yan family to Meng Ting. As for his romantic cousin, he just mentioned it in one sentence without going into detail. He also only mentioned that friend briefly.

After leaving the airport, they got in the car and drove for another four hours before they arrived at the place where they would stay for the next few days.

The estate they were heading to was a property that the Yan family had acquired in Country F many years ago. Yan Manjia and Zhen Han had both stayed there before, but it was actually Yan Sui’s first visit. The scenery along the way, with its lush trees and grass, flower fields, flowing water, and ancient castle walls, is enough to captivate the eyes.

Meng Ting basically slept through the whole flight, so he was in good spirits at this time. He leaned against the window and enjoyed the scenery for quite a while. Meanwhile, Yan Sui leaned against him and took a short nap.

“Yan Sui, we have arrived.”

After Yan Sui leaned against him, Meng Ting became somewhat distracted while looking at the scenery. Later on, he even turned directly to his side and supported Yan Sui with both hands to help him sleep better. It wasn’t until the car had been stopped for a while that he realized they had already arrived.

Yan Sui, with eyes still closed, raised his hand to first touch Meng Ting’s cheek. After receiving a gentle nuzzle from Meng Ting, he finally opened his eyes.

He sat up and turned to look at Meng Ting, carefully examining him before pulling his hand over. “Is it numb?”

Meng Ting looked at Yan Sui as his cheeks blushed slightly, then nodded honestly.

“It doesn’t matter. I like it when you lean on me.”

Meng Ting’s affection came entirely from his heart. Yan Sui had a relaxing sleep this time, and hearing him say that made his mood even better. After rubbing his hands, he pulled him over and kissed his lips, saying, “Let’s get off the car.”

“Okay,” Meng Ting responded, and his cheeks turned a little redder. He felt that since their wedding day, Yan Sui had been more proactive towards him than before. He is no longer shying away from kisses and hugs, whether in public or private. That must be because they are married. Being married is truly wonderful.

Meng Ting thought, a smile spreading at the corners of his mouth. After Yan Sui had walked a little ahead, he followed closely behind, his kiss landing on Yan Sui’s lips. His brows and eyes curved in a gentle arc; the whole person seemed to be bathed in sunlight, warm and pure.

“This is Rose Manor. The person who just came to pick us up is Uncle Li, who manages the manor, Li Yuan.”

While introducing Meng Ting to the Rose Manor, Yan Sui was leading him. The estate’s name, Rose Manor, stems from the presence of nearly ten acres of rose fields. The scenery is nice, which is one aspect, but at the same time, these flowers are supplied to the perfume factory, and the annual income is enough to maintain the maintenance of this manor’s old castle and the salary of the servants.

For the Yan family, this place is just a picturesque vacation spot in Country F. Every year, the Yan family primarily distributes the surplus as bonuses to the estate’s servants, never expecting it to generate significant income.

After Yan Sui finished explaining to Meng Ting, he looked at him again and then asked in a low voice, “Do you like it?”

Meng Ting leaned slightly to touch the white roses along the small stone path, then leaned in closer to smell them, his smile brightening even more. He turned his head to look at Yan Sui and asked, “Can I pick one?”

“These all belong to our family, so of course you can.”

Meng Ting applied a little pressure with his thumb and middle finger, snapping the flower stem. He brought it to his nose and sniffed it again, then nodded, “I like it.”

“Ahem,” Yan Sui said, gently clearing his throat, his gaze slightly averted, and then he led Meng Ting and continued walking. He was momentarily captivated by the scene of Meng Ting smelling the flowers; it felt quite different whether Meng Ting was holding a flower or not. However, Yan Sui attributed this difference to the fact that Meng Ting really liked flowers.

Although Yan Sui has never lived in Rose Manor, there is still a room that belongs to him. After he decided to bring Meng Ting here, the manor was cleaned more than once inside and outside, not to mention their room.

“These few days, the cook, the bodyguard, and the person who usually takes care of the flower garden will stay, while the others can have a vacation, including you.”

Yan Sui spoke to Uncle Li after he approached him. He didn’t even want to meet his cousin when he brought Meng Ting here. He didn’t like having too many people hanging around in front of him, and he could clearly sense that Meng Ting was somewhat uncomfortable in a new environment.

Meng Ting has been looking around aimlessly until now, but the person has stuck close to him. It’s clear that this estate is very much to his liking, but the people here make him uncomfortable.

“Yes,” Li Yuan paused for a moment before responding affirmatively, but since Yan Sui is the owner, whatever he says goes.

***

He led Yan Sui and Meng Ting to their room and then went back downstairs to arrange a vacation for dozens of people in the estate.

The decor, decorated in a pale gold European style, gave the impression of a sudden return to the Middle Ages. Meng Ting took a quick look around, dragged Yan Sui straight to their bed, and then he half pulled and half threw Yan Sui onto the bed. His fluffy head rested against Yan Sui’s chest, his arms tightly wrapped around him. He lifted his head and gave Yan Sui a quick kiss, not caring where it landed.

From the moment they boarded the plane until now, it has been almost a day. He and Yan Sui couldn’t get intimate with each other at all, so he had long been unable to hold back. Now that it was just the two of them, he naturally didn’t hide it and wanted to indulge in some intimate moments.

“They are looking at me. I can’t even kiss you.”

Yan Sui lifted Meng Ting slightly, then turned his head to meet his gaze. After that, the two slowly leaned in, exchanging a kiss filled with tenderness and sweetness.

Meng Ting’s cheeks flushed a bit more as he pressed against Yan Sui’s cheek, unable to contain the smile at the corners of his mouth.

“We’ll have dinner in a bit, and then I’ll take you for a walk in the flower fields. Starting tomorrow, we’ll explore the nearby town first.”

Meng Ting leaned in, rubbing his nose against Yan Sui’s. “I’ll follow your lead.”

Yan Sui wanted to make sure he had a wonderful time, enjoying tasty food and fun activities. He could feel it. Since they were here, they should naturally have a good time.

The two people kissed and embraced for quite a while before getting up to go downstairs for dinner, not indoors but by the lively lake behind the manor’s castle. The setting sun cast a slanting light, and everywhere the eye could see was picturesque.

In a certain sense, Yan Sui and Meng Ting are not particularly knowledgeable about aesthetics, but when they come to a picturesque place with someone they like, they suddenly understand, even if they didn’t before. This is because they find the people in the scenery more beautiful, and thus the scenery itself becomes beautiful as well.

Meng Ting is not picky about food; he can eat these Western dishes, but he dislikes that the portions are a bit small. However, as the dishes keep coming, he continues to eat, and it takes him an hour and a half to feel full.

Yan Sui took a napkin and wiped the corners of Meng Ting’s mouth, then led him towards the flower field.

Meng Ting had a basket and a pair of scissors in his hands; he could cut the flowers he liked to take home.

In the flower field, there were still individual flower farmers at work. Seeing Meng Ting holding a pair of scissors, their eyes couldn’t help but drift over. However, it didn’t take long for them to realize that Meng Ting wasn’t being reckless; his technique was quite meticulous. Snip, snip——he cut off two more leaves before placing the flower in the basket.

Yan Sui reached out to lift the flower basket, while Meng Ting focused on selecting and cutting flowers. The basket gradually began to fill up.

“What are you smelling?”

Yan Sui gently asked Meng Ting. He would smell each flower before picking it, but wasn’t the scent of the rose just this?

When Meng Ting heard this, he did not turn around. He sniffed again. “Even if it is the same flower species, the smell of each flower is different, just like how all people are human, yet each person looks different.”

He stood up and placed the flowers into the basket in Yan Sui’s hands, a faint yet unique smile appearing on his face. “I’m picking flowers that are both beautiful and fragrant.”

Yan Sui seemed to understand but not fully, yet he still followed behind Meng Ting, not bothering him any further.

He could tell that Meng Ting had a special fondness for these flowers, an uncontrollable liking and closeness, similar to how he felt about Dahuang and Maoqiu. If one were to delve deeper, it was clear that he should be more cautious with Dahuang and Maoqiu, while he clearly handles this flower with much more ease.
