At the end of the kiss, both of them were a bit breathless.
Meng Ting leaned against the wall and rested his head on Yan Sui’s shoulder. It took him a long time to catch his breath.
He raised his gaze to look at Yan Sui, and immediately his heart began to race even faster. They had actually kissed quite a few times, but each time his reaction was particularly intense. Yan Sui wanted to help the person up, but Meng Ting hurriedly wrapped his arms around Yan Sui’s waist, whispering softly, “Wait for a little while longer.”
Yan Sui understood the meaning behind Meng Ting’s ‘wait’ after a moment’s understanding. His hand brushed against Meng Ting’s cheek, accompanying him in this ‘wait’.
“Alright,” Meng Ting said, releasing Yan Sui, his cheeks still slightly flushed with a hint of shyness. He poked Yan Sui’s chest again and said, “Let’s kiss in our room next time.” It was really too embarrassing on the street.
Yan Sui looked at Meng Ting, suddenly cupping his face and kissing him on both cheeks. “Meng Ting, I can’t help it either.” Meng Ting is naturally shy, yet he possesses a straightforwardness that sets him apart from others; he is completely unable to resist him.
“Um?” Meng Ting voiced his confusion, but Yan Sui didn’t respond further and continued walking while holding his hand.
Before long, Meng Ting understood the meaning of Yan Sui’s words. They kissed by the purple lavender fields, kissed in front of the wishing well at the town center, kissed under the old weeping willow tree that was swaying in the breeze… They wandered all over the small town, and with each kiss, both of them felt themselves becoming lightheaded.
“Shall we go home?” Yan Sui looked at Meng Ting and asked softly.
“Mm.” Meng Ting nodded, glancing at Yan Sui with his peripheral vision, unable to suppress a smile that spilled from the corners of his mouth——a sweet, warm smile.
After walking for a while longer and before they reached the place where they parked their car, Meng Ting gently shook Yan Sui’s hand that was holding his.
“Do you have something you want to say to me?” Yan Sui had several times looked like he wanted to speak but hesitated; however, when Meng Ting looked over, Yan Sui didn’t say anything.
Upon hearing this, Yan Sui gently tilted his head and responded with a soft “mm”. He pulled the person a little closer and kissed his hair before saying, “Let’s talk when we get home.”
“Okay,” Meng Ting replied with a smile.
However, the matter that made Yan Sui hesitate to speak up was not something he could easily share. Moreover, since it was only their second day here, they should be enjoying themselves. But there are things that Meng Ting should know, and he wouldn’t choose to keep them hidden. Meng Ting has the right to and should know.

Back at the Rose Manor, after dinner, Yan Sui received another bouquet of flowers that Meng Ting had picked out for him. Holding the bouquet in his arms, he led the person back to the room. He placed the new flowers in a vase, while yesterday’s bouquet was sent back to the living room downstairs.
When Yan Sui returned to the room, Meng Ting was not on the sofa; instead, he had gone to take a shower.
He didn’t hesitate any longer. He took out the computer again, opened the email from yesterday, and then read it again as he moved the mouse. His expression gradually became serious.
Meng Ting came out of the bathroom, and Yan Sui waved to him, “Come here, let’s look at something together.”
Meng Ting nodded without much thought and quickly walked over. As soon as he sat down on the sofa, Yan Sui pulled him into his arms. He looked up at him, smiled first, and then turned to look at the computer screen that Yan Sui had opened.
Not long after, Meng Ting’s smile faded from his face. He reached out, pressed the mouse, and then slowly scrolled down. It took Meng Ting nearly an hour to finish reading this email. After a long while, he murmured again, “So… that’s how it is.”
He let out a gentle sigh, his expression so calm that it surprised Yan Sui.
Meng Ting let go of the mouse, turned around, and hugged Yan Sui, saying, “Yan Sui, thank you.”
He had lived in confusion for too long; in his previous life, he died without ever knowing that he was not actually a child of the Meng family. He might still be an illegitimate child, but he wasn’t the illegitimate child of the Meng family; he had simply suffered on behalf of someone else.
If it weren’t for Yan Sui in this life, he would never have known about it either. Things that he couldn’t understand in his previous life suddenly became clear, yet his heart was filled only with tranquility. He thought for a moment and spoke.
“Although my surname is Meng, I have never felt like a member of the Meng family; I have never considered them my family.”
What exactly is the existence of family? He only understood this after meeting Yan Sui. He is able to remain calm because he no longer holds any expectations for the Meng family. Without expectations, he cannot be hurt any deeper. This is one of Meng Ting’s greatest realizations from his past life.
“I didn’t have family before, but now I have you.”
“Yan Sui, thank you.”
Meng Ting’s calmness was genuine; there was no sadness, anger, or hatred——those emotions were too exhausting for him. He doesn’t want to be tired; he just wants to be together with Yan Sui in the future, to truly be together.
Meng Ting was so open-minded that it made Yan Sui’s heart ache. He pushed the computer aside, then picked him up, heading straight for the bed.
He placed the person on the bed, and Meng Ting tilted his chin up, wanting to kiss him. Yan Sui dodged, and with an extremely serious expression, he asked, “In terms of age, you are already an adult; you can decide whether you want to be with me or not.”
If Meng Ting wanted him to wait longer, he could wait.
Meng Ting had never feared Yan Sui’s seriousness. He continued to tilt his head up and finally kissed the corner of Yan Sui’s mouth. He reached out to touch Yan Sui’s cheek, saying, “Of course we should be together.”
As he spoke, he pulled Yan Sui a little closer, and his kiss landed on Yan Sui’s chin. Softly murmuring, “Yan Sui, let’s be together.”
“I want…” us to be together…
Yan Sui sealed his lips with his own, leaving Meng Ting’s words only half spoken. His eyes were slightly red, but it was the kind of faint redness that came from enduring to the limit. He never thought he could be stirred to this extent by a single sentence, yet Meng Ting’s words had that effect on him.
After the kiss ended, Meng Ting licked his lips and said the remaining words that he felt should be said.
“I’m not… particularly knowledgeable, but you know, right?” Because he learned about same-sex marriage in Xia Country while at the research institute, Meng Ting specifically looked up some information, but it was limited and certainly not as comprehensive as what Yan Sui would know.
Meng Ting was quite candid about such matters, although this candor did not affect his inherent shyness; in fact, the more he was like this, the more it was captivating.
“I know,” Yan Sui replied from deep in his throat, and then he pushed Meng Ting back onto the bed.
He lowered his head and captured Meng Ting’s lips, stealing his breath away, indulging in a kiss that was even deeper and more lingering than the previous one. Their tongues intertwined, and the thrill it brought caused both of their breaths to become erratic, their chests rising and falling violently, yet they still could not stop their entanglement.
Yan Sui and Meng Ting both had beads of sweat on their foreheads, their breaths coming out hot and heavy.
Meng Ting’s cherry blossom-colored lips were slightly parted, breathing heavily, as Yan Sui’s kiss had already landed on his ear, the wet sensation brushing against the hollow of his ear. Meng Ting couldn’t help but softly call out, “It tickles…”
Yan Sui released the hollow of his ear but then took his earlobe into his mouth. Meng Ting slightly arched his body; this was undoubtedly one of his sensitive spots, too. “Yan Sui…”
His voice carried a hint of tears, mixed with a hint of coquettishness. Yan Sui’s dark red gaze continued to deepen as he released Meng Ting’s earlobe and pressed kisses onto his fair neck, one after another. At the same time, his hands had already begun to pull apart the thin pajamas that clung to Meng Ting’s body.
Meng Ting squinted, raising a hand to try to pull off Yan Sui’s clothes. “Yours is also in the way.”
So, it wouldn’t be fair for him to be the only one without clothes.
Given that Meng Ting took too long to take off his clothes last time, and Yan Sui was already on the edge of his endurance limit and couldn’t stand that kind of torment, he decided to take matters into his own hands. One piece of clothing after another fell to the ground, and Meng Ting’s eyes widened slightly, as if he finally noticed the difference between whether Yan Sui was dressed or not.
But when he wanted to roll away, he was locked in between Yan Sui’s arms. “Having regrets?”
Meng Ting instinctively shook his head but didn’t say anything. He was kissed again, and this kiss was longer than any before, stirring deeper emotions. Their bodies brushed against each other, and the fire that was already burning grew even stronger.
Yan Sui remembered something and opened the bedside cabinet, where the estate’s manager, Li Yuan, had prepared something for their newlywed life.
This is Meng Ting’s first time, and it’s also Yan Sui’s first time. Meng Ting is completely clueless, but he is very cooperative. Whatever Yan Sui asked him, he would respond accordingly. Yan Sui’s patience is already somewhat extraordinary, and it was even more so when it came to matters concerning Meng Ting.
Although he really wanted to completely possess the person, he didn’t want Meng Ting to be hurt and bedridden for several days because of it. His patient tenderness soothed Meng Ting’s fears entirely. “Meng Ting, I love you1我愛你 (wǒ ài nǐ): T/N: This phrase is heavier that the usual 我喜歡你 (wǒ xǐ huan nǐ), I like you. Similar with Japanese Daisuki (大好き), to like a lot; and Aishiteru (愛してる), love you..”
Yan Sui said softly in a low voice, placing a kiss slowly on Meng Ting’s face.
“Yan Sui…”
Meng Ting slowly opened his eyes, a shy blush lingering on his face, but there was something sparkling in his gaze. When Yan Sui said he liked him, he felt happy, but when he said he loved him, he wanted to cry.
“Be good. Don’t be afraid. I will always love you.”
Yan Sui’s kiss landed on the corner of Meng Ting’s eye, kissing away the overflowing tears.
Meng Ting gently nodded, then kissed Yan Sui’s cheek. He wasn’t quite sure yet if he loved Yan Sui, so he couldn’t say it casually. He’s too stupid; having just learned how to like someone, he hadn’t yet figured out what love truly meant. But he knew that it wouldn’t be too long before he fell in love with Yan Sui.
“Um… hmm…”
“Lighter, no, slower…”
The intermittent whispers of ambiguous affection, along with overly straightforward expressions, envelop this night in a pink atmosphere, warm and intoxicating yet also shy-inducing.
