CFSGWM Chapter 116

Imperial Alpha Highness

Osbourne couldn’t refute anything Orwell said. Each sentence reverberated in Osbourne’s mind, as if constantly condemning him and reminding him of how many mistakes he had made.

However, the Second Prince has lost all memories now. After learning all of this, can the Second Prince still forgive him?

As the Second Prince becomes more reliant on and trusting of him, Osbourne feels increasingly uneasy. He senses that this happiness is like something stolen, and there will come a day when he loses it all. Yet, at the same time, he feels that this is the right path to take. After all, no one can commit wrongdoing without paying some price.

At noon, Osbourne had his subordinates buy groceries, and he went to the hospital kitchen to prepare a meal. Just as he finished cooking and was about to return, he heard Muller approaching and saying, “His Highness is busy now, not opening the door for anyone.”

The food was ready; Osbourne asked Muller to handle it, and he immediately went over.

Muller continued to plate the meal and couldn’t help but feel that his worldview was a bit collapsing. The General’s cooking posture seemed very proficient; he was probably accustomed to cooking regularly at home. But then again, considering how excellent Prince Iger was and the care the General received, anyone would probably willingly do so.

When Osbourne returned to the hospital room, he attempted to open the door but found it locked from the inside. The Second Prince had been emotionally stable since waking up, and this was the first time such a situation occurred. Osbourne was tempted to break the door open, but he feared it might startle the Second Prince. Suppressing his anxiety, he tried knocking on the door and asked, “Your Highness, it’s me. I’ve prepared lunch; shall we open the door and eat?”

There was a faint sound from the other side of the door. After a moment, a muffled voice came through, “You lied to me. I won’t open the door for you.”

Hearing these words, Osbourne’s heart skipped a beat. “Your Highness.”

No response came for a while. Osbourne knocked on the door again, saying, “Your Highness.”

Despite Osbourne’s attempts, there was still no response. His expression changed, and the unease in his heart grew heavier. He pinched his brow, and it seemed like the child in his abdomen sensed the father’s unease and panic. Osboure pressed against his belly, furrowing his brows. He turned to Muller, who was standing nearby, and said, “Take the key and open the door from the outside.”

Seeing Osbourne’s uneasy expression, Muller didn’t dare to delay. If anything happened to the Second Prince, both the General and the unborn little Crown Prince would be in trouble.

The door was opened from the outside, and Osbourne found that Iger was already lying on the bed, sound asleep. No wonder he hadn’t responded earlier. Osbourne breathed a sigh of relief. However, as he reached out to cover him with a blanket, Iger suddenly opened his eyes.

Osbourne smiled at him, “Is Your Highness awake?”

Iger, however, didn’t approach him as usual. Instead, after seeing Osbourne, he buried his head back into the pillow, assuming a defensive posture, saying, “No need for your fake kindness.”

Osbourne’s hand froze, and he hesitated before saying, “Why would Your Highness think that way?”

“I remember everything.” Iger, seeing Osbourne still there, speaking beside his ear, lifted his face coldly and said, “You like Ian, don’t you? I’ve already figured it out. I remember everything. You don’t need to deceive me anymore. I’m not that easy to fool.”

Osbourne was startled by his words. What did he mean by liking Ian, and what did he mean by remembering everything? What had the Second Prince remembered? Seeing that Iger had buried his face in the pillow, Osbourne worried that he might feel stuffy. He tried to pull the pillow away but found that Iger’s fingers held onto it tightly, making it impossible to move.

Osbourne furrowed his brows, observing him. Iger remained motionless, so he decided to call for the doctor. However, as soon as he started to get up, Iger flipped him over and pressed him down, saying fiercely, “Where do you want to go? To find Ian? You can forget about it!”

Osbourne looked at him, noticing the intense hostility in his light brown eyes, and he was momentarily stunned.

“Your Highness…”

The doctor, observing the grim-faced General standing on the side and the Second Prince sitting on the bed with a desolate expression, felt a bit uneasy. He cautiously said, “It seems like there’s a disturbance in his memory. However, it could also be a subconscious reaction. General, don’t worry. It might recover soon.”

“Soon.” Osbourne walked over to Iger, noticing the tendency for his eyes to turn red at the mere sight of him. He sighed and stepped back, saying, “How soon? This can’t go on like this.”

The doctor couldn’t provide a precise answer. Memory disorders due to mental instability were not uncommon, and the recovery time varied from person to person. Some people recovered quickly, while others took a long time.

Osbourne woke up from a sore and painful sleep, opening his eyes to find his beloved lying next to him. As he moved slightly, discomfort from below made him furrow his brow. Worriedly looking at Iger, he wondered when the Second Prince’s confused memory would recover.

“Where are you going?” Osbourne barely moved before a strong arm tightened around him, and a cool voice reached his ears.

He obediently laid back, taking the opportunity to pull Iger into an embrace. Smiling, he gazed into Iger’s light brown eyes and said, “I’m going to make breakfast for you, Your Highness.”

Iger’s tense brows relaxed slightly upon hearing Osbourne’s words. However, as if something suddenly occurred to him, his expression changed abruptly, and he sternly warned, “Let me make this clear. Since you’re carrying my child, you should be honest. If you still have feelings for that man, don’t blame me for being harsh on him!”

Osbourne, soothingly patting Iger’s back, awkwardly replied, “Yes, yes.”

Iger’s brows furrowed even tighter, and his expression darkened. “Are you just placating me?”

This time, he was genuinely angry. Osbourne had been trying to comfort him all morning, but the recent words from the Second Prince left him feeling unsure about how to respond.

He couldn’t understand why His Highness always felt he would leave. Perhaps, as the doctor said, it was a subconscious reaction. Osbourne didn’t know how to make amends for the harm he had caused to His Highness, and perhaps the damage was much deeper than he could imagine.

Osbourne sighed, his brows furrowed, enveloped in sorrow.

Not long after the Second Imperial Prince was discharged, Director Noah extended another invitation, asking if he would return to the research institute to continue their project. Iger naturally agreed.

The previously opened database had officially started during his severe injury and coma. The upcoming work involved establishing a network connection between various cities in the empire and creating a new and extensive data chain. This would further improve the lives of the people.

However, this massive project didn’t take too much time; it was faster than their initial estimates. In just half a year, the entire empire truly realized their initial vision, achieving connectivity between all cities in the empire. The empire’s technology also entered a new era.

In the eyes of the imperial citizens, the one leading them into this new era was their Second Imperial Prince. He protected and constructed the empire in a different way, just like General Osbourne. Both were heroes of their empire.

So when the news of the remarriage of Prince Iger and General Osbourne spread, the entire empire almost instantly fell into a frenzy.

The people only knew about this pair’s on-and-off relationship, causing quite a stir every time they appeared in the public eye. However, they never really separated. Every appearance in the public eye seemed to stir up a storm.

The child of Prince Iger and General Osbourne has received infinite love and attention since birth, especially with those light brown eyes and hair, just like the prince. Every time a photo appeared on the Star Network, it inevitably sparked numerous comments about the incredible power of genetics. The child was like a mini-version of the prince, causing countless Omegas on the Star Network to overflow with maternal love.

At the first birthday banquet of the little prince, Iger watched in the rest area as the servants busily changed his son’s diaper. Osbourne had just been greeted and had gone to change clothes. The little one, however, was happily bouncing towards him, clearly wanting to be picked up.

“You just peed on your mom, and now you want me to hold you? Forget about it.”

The chubby little one used both hands and feet, trying to climb onto him. With a face that was white and chubby, he seemed oblivious to his dad’s disgust, wanting to replace the communicator in his dad’s hand as the only treasure in his eyes.

Iger picked him up with one hand, bounced him a bit, and found that he had gained quite a bit of weight. Osbourne, who had changed his clothes and come out of the dressing room, looked at Iger and said, “Your Highness, let me hold him.”

Iger, of course, readily agreed. However, the chubby little one refused to let go. Every time Osbourne reached out to pick him up, he would scream loudly, and his chubby little hands would fiercely grab onto Iger’s clothes.

Osbourne helplessly smiled. Suddenly, he saw Iger patting the chubby baby’s bottom. “You don’t even let your mom carry you, little ungrateful wolf.”

Osbourne instantly stiffened. For over a year, the phenomenon of Prince Iger’s memory disorder had not improved. He always said things that caught him off guard.

The banquet began, and the chubby little one was dressed in a specially tailored small suit. Countless nobles sent blessings and gifts, and even the king, who rarely attended public events in the past year, appeared here.

The king had aged; the events surrounding the queen a year ago had dealt him a considerable blow. Coupled with a sudden heart attack some time ago, his health was not what it used to be. He intended to pass the throne to Iger, but since the latter woke up from the severe injury a year ago, his memory disorder had changed his temperament. Even the respect he used to have for the king seemed diminished.

Ian, due to his mother’s situation, held some resentment towards his father. Also, the disgraceful matters of his maternal family made his current situation in the royal family awkward. About six months ago, he left for the distant Tuya Star system.

In the past, Iger, though distant, still treated him as a father. Now, in his middle age, he had made little contribution to the country and started seeking familial happiness, only to find that almost no one remained by his side.

In the lounge, Iger sat on the sofa opposite the king and asked lightly, “Father, Ian hasn’t returned from the Tuya Star system yet? Does he plan to stay there forever?”

The king felt somewhat relieved, not expecting Iger to be so tolerant and considerate, even showing concern for his brother.

However, Iger stood up again and said, “I think he might not have the face to come back. Father, I’ve been disappointed in you for many years, and I never heard a single apology from you to Mother.”

“I don’t expect you to feel any guilt or remorse towards me. I just hope to see less of you in the future. It’s better for both of us if the relationship between father and son doesn’t become more unpleasant.”

The king’s expression stiffened, and his face immediately turned somber. Despite his aging appearance, he still possessed a formidable aura. Thus, even in his current state, his gaze held a certain degree of dread.

“Iger, I can overlook your mental injuries, but you should remember that I am still your father. You don’t have the right to speak to me in such a manner!”

[Host, you really messed up your character setting!]

Chu Yan: [Sorry, I have some issues with my brain, it doesn’t count.]

Iger casually smiled, took the gift from the waiter beside him, and glanced at it. “I’ve received the gift. Father, I won’t see you off.”

At night, on the cool sheets, Osbourne felt his skin slightly warm. Although Iger had already taken a bath, his body still emitted a mesmerizing pheromone scent, causing Osbourne’s scent glands at the back of his neck to react. The glands emitted a pheromone with a fresh forest and grassy scent, quickly enveloping Osbourne and making him sink into a daze.

The cool pheromone entered from the glands at the back of his neck, instantly relieving his restlessness.

Iger, however, didn’t give him more but instead stopped to observe his aroused expression. “Your body is quite honest. Do you want me?”

Osbourne gritted his teeth, enduring a wave of sensations brought by the restless pheromones. He didn’t know what chaotic elements were present in His Highness’s disordered memories or why he always liked to utter these peculiar words.

Osbourne nodded firmly, and his azure eyes were filled with affection. Yet, clear words spilled from his lips, revealing unabashed desire: “Want.”

[The subsequent events are not suitable for description.]

Osbourne felt the scalding heat from that place, causing shivers to run through his entire body involuntarily.

In the bathroom, Iger wiped his sweaty bangs upward. Unable to resist, Osbourne tentatively asked him, “Your Highness?”

Iger glanced at him. “What do you want to ask?”

Seeing him remain silent for a while, Iger’s expression immediately changed. “Are you still thinking about that person? After our baby’s first birthday celebration, are you really so heartless that you’d abandon your husband and child to find him?”

Osbourne only wanted to inquire about His Highness’s mood, sensing it might be related to the king today. He didn’t expect His Highness to anticipate his thoughts, giving him quite a start.

Over the past year, Osbourne has often found himself under this suspicion. He worried that he might induce a heart attack with such behavior. Every time he asked, regardless of how much he reassured or comforted His Highness, it took him a long time to recover from the anger.

Osbourne genuinely wanted to know: where had he shown signs of liking Ian? He couldn’t understand why His Highness harbored this resentment for so long without being able to let it go.

Lost in thought for a moment, His Highness accused him, “I knew it; you’re still thinking about him!”

But this time, it seemed that his reaction had genuinely hurt His Highness. When Osbourne realized he needed to explain, he found out that His Highness had disappeared. Hurriedly putting on clothes, Osbourne followed, only to discover that His Highness had left with only the coat at the entrance, leaving behind his wallet and communicator.

It was already very late. Osbourne sent messages to some of Iger’s common friends through the communicator. Before he could finish, a call came in, and it was from Clyde.

“General, His Highness is here with me. Hurry over to take him back.”

Osbourne agreed, and after returning to the room and making arrangements with Xiaozhi, who was taking care of the child, he immediately went out.

The winter night in City M was still a bit chilly. Osboure felt disturbed, regretting his reaction earlier. He wondered how upset His Highness must be.

Clyde, just pulled out of bed, sat on the couch wrapped in a blanket, observing the desolate expression on His Highness’s face. He casually counted on his fingers, estimating that this was probably the fifth time this year.

Yawning, Clyde checked the time and noted that Osbourne was about to arrive. He couldn’t help but sigh, “Your Highness, you and the General are really good at spicing up your married life.”

“Your Highness, General Osbourne will be here in about five minutes. By the way, both of you are out in the middle of the night. Who’s taking care of the baby’s feeding?”

Clyde hadn’t expected that mental disorders could not only cause memory confusion but also lead to such drastic changes in temperament. Is this person really His Highness? He couldn’t help but doubt.

Chugging a sip of the chilled drink, Iger’s troubled expression remained. “Stuck with a mother who only has other men on his mind. The poor child.”

Clyde’s lips twitched. He thought, you’ve really gotten yourself into a mess, claiming to be a dad while your child is the one suffering.

Despite silently venting his frustration, Clyde was genuinely concerned about His Highness. With this inexplicable and troublesome memory of a green hat, anyone would feel uncomfortable. “Your Highness, now that you both have children, why do you always think General Osbourne still has someone else in his heart?”

Iger snorted but didn’t say anything.

Observing his expression, Clyde felt that His Highness, who used to be like a little hedgehog, had turned into a little spoiled one now. He needed to be coddled to be happy.

Alright, it all boils down to couple’s dynamics. As a single dog, he just didn’t understand!

Sure enough, five minutes later, Osbourne arrived. Clyde immediately tactfully stood up from the couch, giving space to these two, who were always immersed in their own world.

He really couldn’t take it anymore!
